Title of the invention: Compact opening control handle
[0001] The technical field relates to opening control handles, door openings equipped with such a handle and motor vehicles comprising such an opening.
[0002] For car manufacturers, the quality of their vehicles' finish and their aesthetic aspects are essential to stand out from other brands. Manufacturers are therefore making many efforts to constantly improve these areas.
[0003] Historically, the side doors of motor vehicles are equipped with an opening control, the visible part of which is a handle generally forming a significant protrusion on the sides of the vehicle body.
[0004] In the context where aesthetics and aerodynamics are paramount, a current trend is to seek to conceal the opening controls by recessing them into the door. However, efforts to recess the controls result in increasingly complex and bulky controls. While aesthetics are important to car manufacturers, reducing vehicle mass and reducing complexity are equally important criteria.
[0005] Finally, the opening controls are rarely designed to be arranged along an axis inclined relative to a horizontal plane of the vehicle so as to be able to house them in a frame where, by definition, the available space is restricted.
[0006] Thus, there is a need for a solution to make an opening control compact to allow it to be embedded in a frame.
[0007] The object of the present invention is to overcome the problems set out above. In this technical context, one aim of the present invention is to provide a compact opening control handle designed to be arranged along an axis inclined relative to the horizontal, in a frame.
[0008] For this purpose, the present invention relates to a handle for controlling the opening of a motor vehicle opening, designed to be arranged in a frame of the opening, the handle comprising a pallet movable around a first axis of rotation, designed to extend in a direction inclined relative to a horizontal plane of the vehicle when the handle is mounted on the vehicle, the pallet extending along the first axis of rotation between a top end and a bottom end, the top end being designed to be arranged above the bottom end when the handle is mounted on the vehicle, the pallet comprising a cam interacting with a cable actuator of the handle, designed to actuate an opening control cable, the actuator being arranged at least partly above the upper end of the paddle when the handle is mounted on the vehicle.

The arrangement of the actuator relative to the upper end of the pallet cleverly makes it possible to reduce the overall size of the handle and therefore to make it more compact, which results in a reduction in the mass of a handle according to the invention, compared to a conventional opening control.

[0023] An opening control handle 1 according to the invention, illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, is intended to equip an opening 2 according to the invention, illustrated in [Fig. 3], of a motor vehicle in order to control the opening of the opening 2 from outside the vehicle.
[0024] The handle 1 is designed to be arranged in a frame 3 of the opening 2, illustrated in [Fig. 3], the frame 3 extending in a substantially vertical direction when it is mounted on the vehicle. The frame 3 is, for example, a window pillar.

Between a rest position and a position controlling the opening of the opening 2, the pallet 8 undergoes a rotation of approximately 40°, as illustrated in [Fig. 2].

Thus, the actuator 14 is mounted on the housing 4 and the second axis DR of rotation extends substantially along a horizontal plane of the vehicle and a transverse direction of the vehicle.

In the example illustrated in [Fig.l], the insertion of the pallet 8 into the housing 9 causes a counterclockwise rotation of the actuator 14. The rotation of the actuator 14 causes a tension on the control cable 6, a first end 15 of which is connected to the actuator 14. As illustrated in [Fig.l], the control cable 6 extends along the pallet 8 from the lower end 12 to above the upper end 11, when the handle 1 is mounted on the vehicle.Thus, under the effect of the cam 13, the actuator 14 is designed to move the first end 15 of the cable 6 in the counterclockwise direction when the pallet 8 is moved in order to control an opening of the opening 2.

The arrangement of the actuator 14 relative to the upper end 11 of the pallet 8 cleverly makes it possible to reduce the overall size of the handle 1 and, in fact, to make it more compact, which results in a reduction in the mass of the handle 1 in comparison with a conventional opening control.

1. Handle (1) for controlling the opening of a motor vehicle opening, designed to be arranged in a frame (3) of the opening (2), the handle (1) comprising a blade (8) movable about a first axis (PR) of rotation, designed to extend in a direction inclined relative to a horizontal plane of the vehicle when the handle (1) is mounted on the vehicle, the blade (8) extending along the first axis (PR) of rotation between a top end (11) and a bottom end (12), the top end (11) being designed to be arranged above the bottom end (12) when the handle (1) is mounted on the vehicle, the blade (8) comprising a cam (13) interacting with a cable actuator (14) of the handle (1), designed to actuate an opening control cable (6), the actuator (14) being arranged at least partly above the top end (11) of the pallet (8) when the handle (1) is mounted on the vehicle.
2. Control handle (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the cam (13) forms a part of the upper end (11) of the pallet (8).
3. Control handle (1) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the actuator (14) is mounted to move around a second axis (DR) of rotation perpendicular to the first axis (PR) of rotation.
4. Control handle (1) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the handle (1) comprises a housing (9) at least partly closed by the pallet (8), the pallet (8) being designed to be pushed into the housing (9) in order to control an opening of the opening (2).

Control handle (1) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it comprises a control cable (6), a first end (15) of which is connected to the actuator (14), designed to be connected to a door lock (7), the cable (6) extending along the pallet (8) from the lower end (12) to above the upper end (11), when the handle (1) is mounted on the vehicle.
6. Vehicle opening (2) comprising a frame (3) and a door opening control handle (1) according to one of claims 1 to 5 arranged in the frame (3) so that the first axis (PR) of rotation extends in a direction inclined relative to a horizontal plane of the vehicle when the opening (2) is mounted on the vehicle.
7. Vehicle opening (2) according to claim 6, characterized in that the opening (2) is a rear door.
8. Motor vehicle having at least one opening (2) according to claim 6 or 7.
