Abstract

Liquid-liquid extraction process and column (1) using / comprising feed injection points (2), washing (3) and optionally backwashing (4), two withdrawal points (5, 6), and trays (Pi) defining n zones comprising: at least one extraction zone Zi comprising zones from Z1 to Zx, x ≥ 1, and optionally at least one backwashing zone comprising zones from Zx+1 to Zn, n ≥ x; in which the trays of the same zone have weirs (11) in which are arranged differential pressure elements (13), and when x > 1, the ratio between the pressure loss coefficient of the differential pressure element of a zone Zi and that of a zone Zi+1 is between 0.8 and 8; and optionally when x = 1, the pressure loss coefficient of at least one backwashing zone is greater than that of zone Z1.
