Window Assembly for a Vehicle

Abstract

A window assembly (10, Fig.1) for a vehicle, comprising: a fixed window 12 having at least one edge portion 14 to which a first plastic member 16 is directly injection moulded, the first plastic member of a first plastic material; a carrier element 18 of a second plastic material, different from the first and comprising a receptacle 20 suitable for a window guide rail 22 to be arranged to guide a movable window 24. The carrier element and first plastic member are directly injection molded to each other such that a first portion P1 of a surface 26 of the carrier element is covered by the first plastic member, where the surface of the carrier element faces away from the receptacle; and the assembly further comprises a second plastic member 28 made from a third plastic material different from the first and second plastic materials, wherein the carrier element and the second plastic member are directly injection moulded to each other such that a second portion P2 of the surface is covered by the second plastic member, and wherein the first plastic material is softer than the second plastic material and / or the third plastic material.
