Abstract

Remotely piloting unmanned vehicles 7 is achieved by using a remote control interface 5,6 allowing a user to control the operation of the unmanned vehicle 7. Haptic feedback is provided to the user. In use, real time position and orientation data of the unmanned vehicle 7 is relayed to the control interface and the haptic apparatus. The haptic apparatus provides haptic feedback to the user to simulate in real time changes in the position and orientation of the unmanned vehicle 7. The control interface may form part of a rig 5.
