Abstract

A brush 200 that may be removably attached to a hairstyling appliance, such as a hairdryer (100, fig.31), comprising a housing 202 with an air inlet 204 for receiving air from the hairstyling appliance, at least one moveable or pivotable platform 208, and at least one bristle (210, fig.3) connected to the or each platform(s), such that, in use, lateral movement of the bristle(s) causes the platform(s) to move such that one or more airflow ports (232, fig.3) is opened or enlarged, to allow air to exit the housing, wherein the at least one platform is, or are in aggregate, capable of movement relative to the housing with at least two degrees of freedom. The platforms may each move in only one degree of freedom, which is different in one platform to another platform. There may be a single platform (508, fig.11), where the airflow port is between a peripheral edge (506, fig.11) of the platform and an overhanging lip (504, fig.11) of the housing, such that exiting air has a direction opposite the direction of pivoting. The platform(s) may be biased to a neutral position by springs 222.
