Abstract
An absorber, 200, comprising a housing 202 with four walls, 204, 206, 208, and 210. The housing further comprises a packing assembly 224, fluidly dividing the housing into inlet 226 and outlet regions 228. The packing assembly includes at least one packing bed 230, extending from wall 208 at an oblique angle (fig. 3, A1) relative to the longitudinal axis X1, such that the airflow 232 through the packing bed(s) is slower than the airflow through the inlet 118. A plurality of packing beds may be configured as zigzags or chevrons and may have vanes or fins to improve airflow direction.
