Claims

1. Abed, comprising:a mounting section; anda bed frame rotatably connected to the mounting section, wherein:the bed frame comprises a base having a central section, a first end section, and a second end section;the central section has a first end, a second end, and two opposing sides extending between the first end and the second end;the first end section is rotatably connected to the first end of the central section;the second end section is rotatably connected to the second end of the central section; and the central section is rotatably connected to the mounting section at one of the sides of the central section.

2. A bed according to claim 1, wherein the bed frame is movable between a use position and a storage position, wherein:in the use position, the first end section, the central section, and the second end section are arranged end-to-end, such that the bed frame is configured to support at least one of a bed deck and a mattress; andin the storage position, the first end section and the second end section overlap with the central section, such that the length of the base is reduced.

3. A bed according to claim 2, wherein in the storage position the length of the base is reduced to the length of the central section.

4. A bed according to claim 2 or claim 3, wherein when the bed frame is rotatably connected to the mounting section, the mounting section is mounted to a wall, and the bed frame is in the use position, the first end section, the central section, and the second end section, arranged end-to-end, define a bed-frame length that extends substantially parallel to the wall.

A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein when the bed frame is rotatably connected to the mounting section and the mounting section is mounted to a wall:in the use position, the first end section, the central section, and the second end section substantially extend in a plane that is perpendicular to the wall; andin the storage position, the first end section, the central section, and the second end section are arranged to substantially extend in planes that are parallel to the wall.

A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 5, wherein in the storage position the central section of the bed frame is arranged to extend substantially in a first plane, and wherein in the storage position the first end section and the second end section of the bed frame are arranged to extend substantially in a second plane, the second plane being different to the first plane and substantially parallel to the first plane.

7. A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 6, wherein in the use position the first end section, the central section, and the second end section of the bed frame are arranged to extend substantially in the same plane.

8. A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 7, wherein the central section, the first end section, and the second end section each comprise an upper surface, and wherein in the use position the upper surfaces of the central section, the first end section, and the second end section are configured to support at least one of a bed deck and a mattress.

9. A bed according to claim 8, wherein in the storage position the upper surfaces of the first end section and the second end section face the upper surface of the central section.

10. A bed according to claim 8 or claim 9, wherein the first end section is rotatably connected to the first end of the central section at or around the upper surfaces of the first end section and the central section, and wherein the second end section is rotatably connected to the second end of the central section at or around the upper surfaces of the second end section and the central section.

A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 10, wherein the bed frame further comprises a first upright section and a second upright section, the first upright section being rotatably connected to the first end of the central section, and the second upright section being rotatably connected to the second end of the central section.

A bed according to claim 11, wherein in the storage position the first upright section is arranged between the first end section and the central section of the base, and in the storage position the second upright section is arranged between the second end section and the central section of the base.

13. A bed according to claim 11 or claim 12, wherein in the use position the first upright section is arranged above at least one of the first end second and the central section of the base frame, and in the use position the second upright section is arranged between at least one of the second end section and the central section of the base frame.

14. A bed according to any one of claims 11 to 13, wherein in the use position, the first upright section is arranged to extend in a direction different from the first end section and the central section of the base, and in the use position the second upright section is arranged to extend in a direction different from the second end section and the central section of the base.

A bed according to any one of claims 11 to 14, wherein the first upright section forms an arch extending from one side of the central section of the base frame to the other, and the second upright section forms an arch extending from one side of the central section of the base frame to the other.

16. A bed according to any one of claims 11 to 15, wherein the bed further comprises support cables extending between the first end section, the first upright section, the second upright section and the second end section.

17. A bed, according to claim 16, wherein the support cables are configured to be under tension when the bed frame is in the use position.

18. A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 17, wherein the bed frame comprises one or more legs extendable to the floor to support at least a portion of the bed frame when the bed frame is in the use position.

19. A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 17, wherein the bed frame comprises one or more legs, wherein when the mounting section is mounted on a wall, the one or more legs areextendable to the wall to support at least a portion of the bed frame when the bed frame is in the use position.

20. A bed according to any one of claims 2 to 17, wherein the mounting section comprises one or more tracks, wherein the side of the central section of the base of the bed frame is rotatably connected to the one or more tracks and slidably connected to the one or more tracks, and wherein the bed frame comprises one or more legs, the one or more legs being rotatably connected to the bed frame and rotatably connected to the mounting section.

21. A bed according to any one of claims 1 to 20, wherein the central section of the bed frame has a length, the first end section of the bed frame has a length, and the second end section of the bed frame has a length, and wherein the combined length of the first end section and the second end section is less than or equal to the length of the central section.

A bed according to any one of claims 1 to 21, wherein the bed frame further comprises a first upright section and a second upright section, the first upright section being rotatably connected to the first end of the central section, and the second upright section being rotatably connected to the second end of the central section, and optionally wherein the first upright section forms an arch extending from one side of the central section of the base frame to the other, and the second upright section forms an arch extending from one side of the central section of the base frame to the other.

23. A bed according to claim 22, wherein the bed further comprises support cables extending between the first end section, the first upright section, the second upright section and the second end section.

24. A bed according to any one of claims 1 to 23, wherein the bed further comprises a bed deck supportable on the bed frame, and optionally comprises a mattress supportable on the bed deck.38
