Abstract

A head-mounted device (HMD) 10 includes a housing. A securement band 26-1, an external sensor and an optical module 70 are coupled to the housing. The securement band retains the HMD on a user’s head. The external sensor performs gesture detection on the user. The optical module includes an internal display 14 and an internal sensor 86. The internal sensor performs gaze detection and the external sensor performs gesture detection, both on the user. The external sensor may include a camera. The internal sensor may include an LED and a camera.A worn electronic device 10 includes a housing, a forward-facing sensor, an optical module 70 and a band 26-1. The forward-facing sensor and the optical module are coupled to the housing. The optical module includes a rearward-facing display 14 and a rearward-facing sensor 86. The rearward-facing sensor performs gaze detection. The band retains the housing on a user.A display includes a housing and first and second sensors. The display 14 displays an image in a first direction. The first sensor 86 is orientated in a first direction, performing gaze detection on a user. The second sensor is orientated in a second direction, performing gesture detection on the user.
