Description
PORTABLE MOVABLE FLOOD BARRIER FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present disclosure relates to the technical field of flood control, and in particular to a portable movable flood barrier. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In recent years, extreme weather events influenced by climate change have led to an increase in severe weather disasters. Typhoons, in particular, have raised the risk of heavy rainfall in urban areas. These intense rainstorms and resulting floods pose a significant threat to both lives and property. Unfortunately, many regions in developing countries have drainage systems with inadequate design standards. As a result, heavy rain can cause serious surface water accumulation, leading to urban flooding. This not only disrupts transportation but also damages road infrastructure and impacts urban residents’ safety and property.
[0003] Conventional flood barriers often use rigid panels, which are difficult to install due to their weight. Moreover, their lack of foldability makes storage cumbersome, as they take up a considerable amount of space. Therefore, a portable movable flood barrier is needed to tackle these challenges. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] In view of the above-mentioned shortcomings, the present disclosure provides a portable movable flood barrier, which seeks to overcome the installation complexity associated with rigid panels in conventional flood facilities and the need for significant storage space.
[0005] The portable movable flood barrier comprises a bottom supporting board, a flood baffle, and supporting brackets.
[0006] A first end of the flood baffle is connected to the bottom supporting board, the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle are made of waterproof flexible materials and contain supporting sheets for structure reinforcement, and the flood baffle is rotatable around the first end of the flood baffle.
[0007] Each of the supporting brackets comprises a vertical supporting rod and a horizontal supporting rod, which are vertically connected to each other by ends. When the portable movable flood barrier is to enter an expanded state, the flood baffle rotates around the first end of the flood baffle to a position where the flood baffle is perpendicular to the bottom supporting board, and the vertical supporting rod and the horizontal supporting rod are fixed to the supporting sheets disposed on the flood baffle and the bottom supporting board, respectively.
[0008] When the portable movable flood barrier is to enter a storage state, the supporting brackets are detached, and the flood baffle is folded along the first end of the flood baffle, such that the flood baffle is stacked on the bottom supporting board.
[0009] As a more preferred embodiment, the supporting sheets are symmetrically and uniformly disposed at intervals along a joining line between the flood baffle and the bottom supporting board. When the portable movable flood barrier is in the storage state and the flood baffle is stacked on the bottom supporting board, the portable movable flood barrier is curled along the joining line.
[0010] As a more preferred embodiment, the portable movable flood barrier further comprises a pull rope assembly, and two ends of the pull rope assembly are fixed to the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle, respectively. When the portable movable flood barrier is in the expanded state, the pull rope assembly is tightened, and when flood impacts the flood baffle, the pull rope assembly pulls the flood baffle. When the portable movable flood barrier is in the storage state, the pull rope assembly is accommodated between the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle.
[0011] As a more preferred embodiment, the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle have the same dimensions, and when the portable movable flood barrier is in the storage state, the bottom supporting board is completely covered by the flood baffle.
[0012] As a more preferred embodiment, each of the supporting brackets further comprises an adjusting beam, two ends of the adjusting beam are slidably disposed on the vertical supporting rod and the horizontal supporting rod, respectively, and a supporting force of the supporting bracket is controlled by adjusting positions of the two ends of the adjusting beam on the vertical supporting rod and the horizontal supporting rod.
[0013] As a more preferred embodiment, the portable movable flood barrier further comprises a connecting hinge, the connecting hinge is disposed at a joint between the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle, and two blades of the connecting hinge are fixed to the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle, respectively, facilitating rotation of the flood baffle around the first end of the flood baffle. Each of the vertical supporting rod and the horizontal supporting rod is provided with limit locking pieces to lock the two ends of the adjusting beam. After adjusting the positions of the two ends of the adjusting beam on the vertical supporting rod and the horizontal supporting rod, the limit locking pieces are used to secure both ends of the adjusting beam.
[0014] As a more preferred embodiment, the portable movable flood barrier further comprises reflective strips disposed on the flood baffle.
[0015] As a more preferred embodiment, the supporting sheets are made of epoxy. Epoxy materials offer excellent mechanical and dielectric properties, good heat resistance, moisture resistance, and ease of processing, significantly enhancing the mechanical strength of both the bottom supporting board and the flood baffle.
[0016] As a more preferred embodiment, the waterproof flexible materials comprise PVC mesh fabrics. PVC mesh fabric is made by heat-sealing double-sided coated airtight material using high-frequency techniques. It features a straightforward structure, good flexibility, stability, and rapid molding. Due to its waterproof, wear-resistant, tear-resistant, and acid-alkali resistant properties, it’s well-suited for use in flood control facilities.
[0017] As a more preferred embodiment, the portable movable flood barrier further comprises a waterproof zipper and a velcro fastener, and the bottom supporting board is fixedly connected to the flood baffle by the waterproof zipper and the velcro fastener.
[0018] As described above, the portable movable flood barrier of the present disclosure has the following beneficial effects. When floods occur or sudden heavy rains lead to waterlogging, users can deploy this portable movable flood barrier. Specifically, the bottom supporting board is placed on the ground where the floodwater will pass, the flood baffle rotates around the first end of the flood baffle to a position where the flood baffle is perpendicular to the bottom supporting board, and the vertical supporting rod and the horizontal supporting rod of each supporting bracket are fixed to the supporting sheets disposed on the flood baffle and the bottom supporting board, respectively. The portable movable flood barrier is arranged by orienting its opening directly towards incoming flood, such that when the flood flows through this flood barrier, the floodwater accumulates above the bottom supporting board. When the flood impacts the flood baffle, the impact force is transmitted through the horizontal supporting rod to the bottom supporting board, during which time the weight of the floodwater presses the bottom supporting board against the ground, dissipating the impact force. Friction between the bottom supporting board and the ground ensures that this flood barrier remains in place, even under the force of the flood, allowing the barrier to withstand a certain level of impact. When the flood subsides, users can remove the supporting brackets and fold the flood baffle along the first end of the flood baffle, such that the flood baffle is stacked on top of the bottom supporting board, making the barrier convenient to use and space-saving.
[0019] The portable movable flood barrier of the present disclosure contains supporting sheets filled with waterproof flexible materials and incorporates a foldable storage mechanism, allowing for convenient switching between an expanded state and a storage state, which addresses challenges found in traditional flood facilities, such as the installation complexity associated with rigid panels and the need for significant storage space.
