Description

The present invention relates to an applicator for applying at least one false-eyelash to a user’s eyelid. The present invention also relates to a kit which includes the false-eyelash applicator. The present invention further relates to a method of using the false-eyelash applicator to safely apply false-eyelashes. Long, voluminous eyelashes are considered beautiful and thus are desirable. Users wishing to enhance their beauty can avail themselves of various solutions to attempt to increase the length and / or volume of their eyelashes. For example, mascara is a solution containing pigments which are applied to a user’s existing eyelashes. However, mascara can run for example if wet. Furthermore, as the eyelashes act as a support for the mascara, the eyelashes limit the increase in length and / or volume that can be achieved using mascara. Another solution is to adhere false-eyelashes to the user’s eyelid. False-eyelashes are available in a range of lengths and / or volumes, providing the user with choice. As manipulating individual false eyelashes requires great dexterity and is timeconsuming to apply, a group of false eyelashes are typically adhered to a supporting strip instead. The supporting strip, which typically has adhesive, can be held and pressed against the user’s eyelid. However, this solution also presents downsides. Applying a group of eyelashes, even linked by a supporting strip, requires great dexterity. In beauty salons, a beauty technician might apply the eyelashes to a customer, but positioning one’s fingers against the customer’s eyelids is quite intrusive. Devices can be used to hold the false eyelashes and apply to the eyelid instead of using a user’s fingers. However, in all cases, there is a high risk of, potentially serious, injury, such as accidental poking, scratching or even puncturing the eye, or pressing the eyelashes and adhesive against the eyeball instead of the eyelid. Furthermore, the supporting strip remains visible and thus, reduces the realism of the false eyelashes. The present invention seeks to provide a solution to these problems. According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a false-eyelash applicator for safely applying a false eyelash to a user’s eyelid, the applicator comprising: an applicator body; a face-spacer element projecting from the applicator body for spacing a user’s face away from the applicator body via abutment of the face-spacer element against the user’s face; pincer actuation means; an eyelash pincer projecting from the applicator body, the eyelash pincer being movable by the pincer actuation means along a pincer-movement path, the pincer actuation means being prevented by the face-spacer element from moving the eyelash pincer beyond a maximum extension position, wherein in the maximum extension position, the eyelash pincer is positioned at a safe distance from the user’s eyelid for safe application of a false eyelash to the user’s eyelid. The applicator allows a user to apply one or more false eyelashes to their own eyelid or a further user’s eyelid with greater control and safety. The increased safety is enabled by the face-spacer element causing the eyelash pincer to be spaced-apart from the user’s eyelid by a minimum distance, to reduce or eliminate the risk of the eyelash pincer damaging or puncturing the user’s eye. Preferably, the face-spacer element projects from the applicator body by a spacing distance, the face-spacer element may be movable such that the spacing distance may be adjustable. An adjustable spacing distance enables the applicator to be used safely by users having different morphologies. The range of potential users is increased. Adjustability may also increase comfort. Furthermore, the face-spacer element may include an upper-face spacer member for abutment against an upper part of the user’s face. The face-spacer element may be abuttable against the user’s forehead, temples, cheekbones or any combination thereof. This may provide free or freer access to the user’s lower face. Additionally or alternatively, the face-spacer element may include a lower-face spacer member for abutment against a lower part of the user’s face. The face-spacer element may be abuttable against the user’s chin, one or more cheeks, jawbone or any combination thereof. This may provide free or freer access to the user’s upper face. In either case, unhindered or greater access to the user’s upper face or lower face may also enable one or more false eyelashes to be inserted into the eyelash pincer, without needing for the user to remove their face from the applicator, insert a false eyelash in the eyelash pincer then reposition their face against the face-spacer element between each eyelash applied to the eyelid. If the face-spacer element includes both an upper-face spacer member and a lower-face spacer member, such as a forehead spacer member and a chin spacer member, this may provide greater stability of the applicator axially. Preferably, the applicator may further comprise a light-emitting element. When the applicator is positioned against the user’s face, at least part of the applicator may reduce or block out light from an external source. As a result, it may be harder or impossible to see the false eyelash being applied by the eyelash pincer. Providing a light-emitting element may counteract this issue and increase the light during the process of applying a false eyelash. The user is able to better see where to position the eyelash pincer. The risk of accidentally applying the false eyelash and any adhesive to the eyeball or puncturing the eyeball is reduced. In other words, greater visibility may further reduce the risk of accidents and thus, increase safety. Advantageously, the light-emitting element may be an Ultra-Violet light-emitting element. If UV-cured adhesive is used to connect a false eyelash to the eyelid, Ultra-Violet light or UV light can beneficially cure the adhesive. In other words, the adhesive may solidify, or at least solidify faster than in the absence of UV light. Beneficially, the applicator may further comprise a pincer-input element for enabling a user to provide an input to control the position of the eyelash pincer. The pincer-input element removes the need for a user to directly contact the eyelash pincer. Instead, the user can actuate the eyelash pincer indirectly, such as from a different location. For example, the pincer-input element may be provided in or on the applicator body, which is easier to access and / or increases the ergonomics. Optionally, the pincer-input element may include a joystick. A joystick is an intuitive, user-friendly means of providing an input. A joystick may also be more compact than individual, corresponding up / down, left / right, and backwards / forward buttons. Individual buttons may also require the user to look to check which button they are interacting with, whereas a joystick may negate the need for the user to look at the joystick before providing an input. Additionally, the applicator may further comprise a camera. The size and / or shape of the applicator may hinder or block the line of sight of a first user using the applicator to apply eyelashes to a second user. If a user is using the applicator to apply eyelashes to themselves, they are unable to clearly see the eyelash pincer directly due to the least distance of distinct vision or near point, which is typically 25 centimetres. In both use scenarios, the camera may provide an image or series of images in the form of a video of the eyelid and adjacent area. The images may be displayed, such as on a screen, to enable the user applying the eyelashes to themselves or to another user to easily view what they are doing. The screen may be part of a smartphone or a monitor. Furthermore, the pincer actuation means may include a motor. The pincer actuation means is electrically energised or energisable. However, any alternative may be envisioned, such as manual operation. For example, the pincer actuation means may include dials or gears that the user can move to alter the position of the eyelash pincer. Beneficially, the pincer actuation means may include a rack and pinion. A rack and pinion is a simple, off the shelf mechanism which is easy to obtain and / or manufacture. A rack and pinion may also enable the eyelash pincer to move through a continuous or near continuous range of positions. The intermeshing engagement of the teeth of a rack and pinion arrangement also provides great control, reducing the risk of accidental disengagement or slippage. Additionally, the application may further comprise an eyelash-parting element. The eyelash-parting element provides a greater access to the eyelid, thereby facilitating insertion of a false eyelash between eyelashes already in situ on the eyelid, whether natural or artificial. The risk of the false eyelash becoming bent or folding due to being pushed against another eyelash during insertion is reduced or eliminated. Preferably, the eyelash-parting element may comprise a first parting arm and a second parting arm, and at least one of: the first parting arm and the second parting arm may be movable. One parting arm being movable relative to a fixed arm may reduce the number and / or complexity of components required to move and position the parting arms relative to each other. Lower complexity and / or fewer parts may facilitate manufacture, reduce materials, and thereby reduce the carbon footprint and costs. Fewer components may enable the applicator to be smaller and / or lighter, meaning the applicator is easier to hold in use or transport. Two movable parting arms provide greater symmetry during parting of the eyelashes. Beneficially, the first parting arm and the second parting arm may be actuatable between a closed position and an open position, wherein in the closed position, at least part of the first parting arm and at least part of the second parting arm may be abutted or adjacent to each other; and wherein in the open position, the first parting arm and second parting arm may be spaced-apart from each other by a gap. Preferably, the eyelash pincer and the eyelash-parting element may be arranged relative to each other such that in-use when the eyelash pincer may be in or may move towards the maximum extension position, the eyelash pincer and / or a false eyelash held by the eyelash pincer may extend through the gap for inserting a root end of the false eyelash between two eyelashes extending from the user’s eyelid, the two eyelashes being parted by the eyelash parting element. In the closed position, the parting arms may be or be more easily insertable between two eyelashes in situ on the eyelid. In the open position, the provision of a gap means that the parting arms do not hinder the eyelash pincer. Instead, the gap facilitates the insertion of a false eyelash therethrough. According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a kit comprising a false-eyelash applicator, preferably in accordance with the first aspect of the invention, and at least one of: a third-party computing device, a charging dock, an adhesive, and a false-eyelash. The applicator may be used in conjunction with one or more of a third-party computing device, a charger, adhesive and one or more eyelashes. Beneficially, the third-party computing device may further include a user interface. A user interface allows the user to provide an input to the applicator via the third-party computing device and / or receive an output therefrom. Preferably, the user interface may include a screen. The screen may be used to visualise an image or video from a camera, such as a camera associated with the applicator. Beneficially, the third-party computing device may further include a camera. The camera may be or be provided as part of the third-party computing device. The user can use the camera of the third-party computing device, such as their smartphone to obtain one or more images of their eye. The user may thus reuse existing equipment they may already have. This may negate the need of the applicator to have an associated camera. The applicator may be simpler and cheaper to manufacture as a result of the camera being optional or even omitted entirely from the applicator. If each of the applicator and the third-party computing device has a camera such that there is a plurality of cameras, images or videos can be obtained from different perspectives. This may further increase safety during application. Accuracy in positioning of the eyelashes may also be increased. Furthermore, the false-eyelash applicator may further include a controller, the controller may have a first communication module, and wherein the third-party computing device may further include a second communication module, the first and second communication modules being communicable for enabling the third-party computing device to provide data to the false-eyelash applicator and / or vice-versa, via the first and second communication modules. A controller may automatically control the applicator in response to an input from the third-party computing device. A software application may be installed on the third-party computing device, through which the user may provide and / or receive inputs. According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of safely applying a false-eyelash, the method comprising the steps of: a] providing a false-eyelash applicator, preferably in accordance with the first aspect of the invention, or a kit, preferably in accordance with the second aspect of the invention; b] positioning a false-eyelash within the eyelash pincer such that a root end of the false-eyelash extends from the eyelash pincer; c] abutting the user’s face against the face-spacer element so as to position a user’s face spaced-apart from the applicator body; d] actuating the pincer actuation means to move the eyelash pincer along the pincer-movement path towards the maximum extension position until the root end of the false-eyelash contacts the user’s eyelid; e] releasing the false-eyelash from the eyelash pincer. The method allows for safe application of false eyelashes to a user’s eyelash. Furthermore, in step b] adhesive may be provided at the root end of the false-eyelash. Adhesive may already be provided as part of a false-eyelash. Alternatively, no adhesive may be provided on the eyelash such that the user may need apply adhesive to a false-eyelash. In another embodiment, a connection means or connector, such as adhesive may be provided on the eyelid directly, instead of being applied to a false-eyelash. Additionally, the false-eyelash applicator may have an Ultra-Violet light-emitting element and the adhesive may be a UV-curable adhesive, the method may comprise a further step after d] of curing the UV-curable adhesive via activating the Ultra-Violet lightemitting element to emit UV light. UV-light-emitting element reduces the time required to cure a UV-cured adhesive, thereby reducing the time needed to apply an eyelash. The time saving is compounded by the number of false-eyelashes to be applied. Preferably, the false-eyelash applicator may include an eyelash-parting element, the method may comprise a further step after step c] of parting eyelashes extending from the user’s eyelid, using the eyelash-parting element. Parting eyelashes allows a false eyelash to be inserted between existing eyelashes. This provides more realism and increases the ease and speed of applying false eyelashes. Additionally, the face-spacer element may project from the applicator body by a spacing distance, the face-spacer element may be movable such that the spacing distance may be adjustable, the method may further comprise a step of adjusting the face-spacer element as required. Adjustability of the spacing enables the applicator to be adapted to a range of faces, thereby improving the safety for a range of users. The invention will now be more particularly described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a perspective representation of a first embodiment of a kit in accordance with the second embodiment of the invention, the kit having a first embodiment of a false-eyelash applicator in accordance with the first aspect of the invention, and a supply of false-eyelashes and adhesive; Figure 2 is a second perspective representation of parts of the applicator of Figure 1, with an applicator body of the false-eyelash applicator shown as partially transparent for clarity; Figure 3 is third perspective representation of parts of the applicator of Figure 1, with an applicator body of the false-eyelash applicator shown as partially transparent for clarity; Figure 4 illustrates a first perspective representation of pincer actuation means and an eyelash pincer of the false-eyelash applicator of Figure 1; Figure 5 shows a second perspective representation of the pincer actuation means and eyelash pincer of Figure 4; Figure 6 is a perspective representation of an eyelash-parting element and parting actuation means of the false-eyelash applicator of Figure 1; Figure 7 is a close-up side representation of the false-eyelash applicator of Figure 1; Figure 8 is a flow-diagram of a method of use of the false-eyelash applicator of Figure 1; Figure 9 shows a perspective exploded representation of a second embodiment of a kit in accordance with the second aspect of the invention, the kit comprising a charging dock and a second embodiment of a false-eyelash applicator in accordance with the first aspect of the invention; Figure 10 is a side representation of the second embodiment of the false-eyelash applicator of Figure 9; Figure 11 is a rear representation of the second embodiment of the false-eyelash applicator of Figure 9; and Figure 12 illustrates a side representation of a third embodiment of a kit in accordance with the second aspect of the invention, in-use, the kit comprising a third party computing device and a third embodiment of a false-eyelash applicator in accordance with the first aspect of the invention; Referring now to Figure 1, there is shown a first embodiment of a kit indicated generally at 10. The kit 10 enables the safe application of at least one false-eyelash 12 to a user’s eyelid. The kit 10 includes an applicator 14 and at least one of: at least one false-eyelash 12, adhesive 16, a third-party computing device, a charging dock, a plurality of any of the above, and any combination thereof, although any of the above may be omitted from the kit. Figure 1 shows the applicator 14, a plurality of false-eyelashes 12 and adhesive 16. The applicator 14 in-use enables the safe application of one or more false-eyelashes 12 to a user’s eyelid. Thus, the applicator 14 may be referred to as a false-eyelash applicator. The applicator 14 includes an applicator body 18, a face-spacer element 20, a spacer actuation means, an eyelash pincer 22, pincer actuation means 24, a pincerinput element 26, a light-emitting element 28, a camera 30, an eyelash-parting element 32, parting actuation means 34, parting input element, a controller 36, but any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Optionally, the applicator 14 may also comprise a source of power 38a and / or a connection to a source of power 38b, as shown in Figure 2. The applicator body 18 in-use provides a support for one or more components of the applicator 14. Optionally, the applicator body 18 provides a housing for receiving, partly or fully, at least some of the components of the applicator 14. In Figures 2 and 3, the applicator body 18 is shown as being partially transparent, so as to illustrate internal components received within the applicator body 18. The applicator body 18 may comprise a head portion 18a and a handle portion 18b but either may be omitted and / or a plurality of either may be provided. The handle portion 18b increases the ergonomics by providing a comfortable and easily graspable element. As the user can hold the applicator 14 more firmly and safely, the handle portion 18b may also increase the safety of the applicator 14. Parts of the applicator 14 extend from the head portion 18a. Optionally, the head portion 18a may have a planar or substantially planar surface. The face-spacer element 20 in-use spaces a user’s face away from the applicator body 18. The spacing is preferably done via in-use abutment of the face-spacer element 20 against the user’s face. The face-spacer element 20 projects from the applicator body 18 and more preferably from the head portion 18a thereof. The face-spacer element 20 projects from the applicator body 18 by a spacing distance. Although not shown in the first embodiment, the face-spacer element 20 is preferably movable but non-movable, such as fixed, may be envisioned. Preferably, the face-spacer element 20 is selectably movable. In other words, the user can move or reposition the face-spacer element 20 relative to the applicator body 18. Preferably, the extent by which the face-spacer element 20 projects from the applicator body 18 can be varied. In other words, the facespacer element 20 is movable so as to adjust the spacing distance. Adjustability of the face-spacer element 20 allows the applicator body 18 to be customised for use with a range of different face morphologies. Comfort and / or safety of the user may be improved. The face-spacer element 20 may be movable along a spacer axis 40. Preferably, the face-spacer element 20 includes a spacer member, portion or cushion 20a, but this may be omitted or a plurality may be provided. In the case of a plurality of spacer members 20a, all spacer members 20a may be movable in tandem. Alternatively, at least one or each spacer member 20a may be movable independently of at least one other spacer member 20a. The face-spacer element 20 or at least one spacer member 20a thereof may be formed of any suitable material, such as plastics, fabric, carbon fibre, glass fibre, metal, glass, wood, any other suitable material, or any combination thereof. Plastics includes elastomeric materials. Silicone may be envisioned. Metal includes metal alloys. In the first embodiment, the face-spacer element 20 includes a single spacer member 20a. More preferably, the spacer member 20a is abuttable against an upper part of the user’s head, and more preferably, an upper part of the user’s face, such as the forehead, temples, cheekbones, or any combination thereof. For clarity, the or a said spacer member 20a which is abuttable against an upper part of the user’s head, and more preferably against upper part of the user’s face, may be referred to as an upper-head spacer member or an upper-face spacer member, respectively. Although not provided in the first embodiment, if the or a said spacer member is abuttable against a lower part of the user’s head, and more preferably, a lower part of the user's face, such as the chin, jawbones or combination thereof, the cushion may be referred to as a lower-head spacer member or lower-face spacer member, respectively. If provided, the spacer actuation means in-use enables the face-spacer element 20, or at least a spacer member 20a thereof, to be movable. The spacer actuation means may also be referred to as a spacer-actuator. The spacer actuation means may include a slider, rail element, and spacer user-interactable element, but any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Any alternative to a slider and rail element may be envisioned, such as a rack and pinion arrangement, or an electronic actuator, by way of examples. The spacer user-interactable element is preferably a button or toggle. The eyelash pincer 22 in-use enables at least one false-eyelash 12 to be grasped, pincered or held. The eyelash pincer 22 may also be referred to as tongs. The eyelash pincer 22 is shown more clearly in Figures 4 and 5. The eyelash pincer 22 projects from the applicator body 18. The eyelash pincer 22 is movable by the pincer actuation means 24. More preferably, the eyelash pincer 22 is movable along a pincer-movement path. The pincer-movement path is preferably linear, but non-linear or part linear may be envisioned. The pincer-movement path preferably terminates at a maximum extension position 42. In Figure 1, the maximum extension position 42 is shown as a dotted outline. When in the maximum extension position 42, the eyelash pincer 22 is positioned at a safe distance from the user’s eyelid for safe application of a false-eyelash 12 to the user’s eyelid. The safe distance may be set, determined or altered by the face-spacer element 20. The eyelash pincer 22 may be movable in more than one direction. More preferably, if the pincer-movement path is deemed to extend along a z-axis, the eyelash pincer 22 may be additionally movable at least in part along the x- axis and / or at least in part along the y-axis. The eyelash pincer 22 may also move along a plurality of axes sequentially and / or simultaneously, for example for a diagonal movement. Movement along a plurality of axis beneficially gives the eyelash pincer 22 full movement in three-dimensions. The eyelash pincer 22 may be movable by translation and / or by pivoting. Optionally, this may result there being a range of possible maximum extension positions 42. The range of possible maximum extension positions 42 may define a maximum extension envelope. Optionally, the maximum extension envelope may be generally shaped as part of a sphere, for example if the eyelash pincer 22 is pivotably movable. Alternatively, the maximum extension envelope may be generally shaped as a plane, square or rectangle. The eyelash pincer 22 preferably includes a first pincer arm 44a and a second pincer arm 44b. Preferably, both pincer arms 44a,44b are movable relative to each other but in an alternative embodiment, one of the pincer arms may be fixed, whilst the other pincer arm may be movable towards and / or away from the fixed pincer arm. The pincer arms 44a,44b are movable to actuate the eyelash pincer 22 between an open condition and a closed condition. When the eyelash pincer 22 is in the closed condition, at least part of the pincer arms 44a,44b are abutted or sufficiently adjacent to each other so as be able to hold a false eyelash between the pincer arms 44a,44b. When the eyelash pincer 22 is in the open position, the pincer arms 44a,44b are spacedapart from each other by a gap, referred to as a pincer gap for clarity. The pincer gap is large enough such that the eyelash pincer 22 is unable to hold a false-eyelash 12 when the eyelash pincer 22 is in the open condition. Thus, in the open condition, a false-eyelash 12 may be inserted into the eyelash pincer 22, and more preferably into the pincer gap so as to be immobilised by the eyelash pincer 22 after actuation into the closed condition. If a false-eyelash 12 is held by the eyelash pincer 22 in the closed condition, the eyelash pincer 22 can be actuated into the open condition to release the false-eyelash 12. The pincer actuation means 24, also referred to as a pincer actuator, in-use actuates or moves the eyelash pincer 22. Figures 4 and 5 show the pincer actuation means 24. More preferably, the pincer actuation means 24 in-use moves the eyelash pincer 22 along the pincer-movement path. Preferably, the pincer actuation means 24 in-use moves the eyelash pincer 22 in at least one, and preferably all three of the x-, y- and z-axes. The interaction of the face-spacer element 20 and the pincer actuation means 24 results in the pincer actuation means 24 being prevented by the spacing distance set by the facespacer element 20 from moving the eyelash pincer 22 beyond the maximum extension position 42 or maximum extension envelope. In other words, the spacing distance ensures that the pincer 22 remains at a minimum distance from the user’s eyelid, for safety. Additionally, the pincer actuation means 24 may in-use actuate the eyelash pincer 22 between the open condition and the closed condition. The pincer actuation means 24 may include any or all of the following: a motor, a rack, a pinion, a movable support, at least one lever, at least one axle, any other desirable feature, a plurality of any of the above, and any combination thereof. The pincer actuation means 24 includes a first assembly 46 and a second assembly 48 but either may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Further assemblies may be envisioned. The first assembly 46 is adapted to, configured to, or in-use able to move the eyelash pincer 22 in at least one and more preferably all three of the x-, y- and z-axes. The second assembly 48 is adapted to, configured to, or in use able to actuate the eyelash pincer 22 from the open condition to the closed condition, and / or vice-versa. The first assembly 46 includes at least one, and preferably three axis sub-assemblies 50 and at least one support hub 52. The eyelash pincer 22 is preferably mounted to the support hub 52. Preferably, the support hub 52 is movable. Each axis sub-assembly 50 is adapted to move the eyelash pincer 22 along one axis, by moving the movable support hub 52. Thus, there is preferably an x-axis sub-assembly 50a, a y-axis sub-assembly 50b, and a z-axis sub-assembly 50c. The sub-assemblies 50 may alternatively be referred to as an up / down sub-assembly, a left / right sub-assembly, and a forwardbackward sub-assembly. In the illustrated embodiment, at least one, and preferably each axis sub-assembly 50 includes a motor 54, a rack 56, a pinion 58, and a stabilising support 60, but any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Any other suitable mechanism may be considered. In Figures 4 and 5, the stabilising support 60 of the z-axis sub-assembly 50c has been omitted, for clarity. One exemplary axis sub-assembly 50 will be hereinafter described but it is understood that the description and caveats may be applied to any or all of the axis sub-assemblies 50. The motor 54 of axis sub-assembly 50 is arranged to drive the pinion 58. The stabilising support 60 includes a sub-assembly pivot 60a, and optionally a plate 60b. The rack 56 is provided at the stabilising support 60 or at the support hub 52. The motor 54 may be associated with the other of the stabilising support 60 or the support hub 52. It may be envisioned that the plate may be omitted entirely and that a rack or motor may be in, on or associated directly with the applicator body, in an alternative embodiment. A rack of teeth may even be formed directly in the applicator body. Engagement of the pinion 58 and the rack 56 causes the movable support hub 52 to be pivoted around the subassembly pivot 60a of the stabilising support 60. Two or preferably, all three, axis subassemblies 50 are arranged to operate orthogonally to each other. In other words, the sub-assembly pivots 60a are preferably perpendicular to each other. The second assembly 48, as previously mentioned, opens and / or closes the eyelash pincer 22. Actuation of the eyelash pincer 22 between the open condition and the closed condition is achieved by virtue of an arrangement including at least one lever, at least one axle and a motor, although any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Any suitable alternative arrangement may be envisioned. In the illustrated embodiment, at least one pincer arm 44a,44b, and more preferably each of the first pincer arm 44a and the second pincer arm 44b is mounted onto a respective lever. The levers, referred to as mounting levers 62 for clarity, are connected to each other by an axle. The axle is preferably fixed or non-movable, thus may be referred to as a fixed axle 64 for clarity. Optionally, as shown, the fixed axle 64 is connected to or associated with the movable support hub 52, and more preferably extends therethrough. However, the fixed axle could be connected with or associated with any other suitable component of the applicator, such as the applicator body. At least one, and more preferably each mounting lever 62 is connected to a respective further lever, referred to as a push-pull lever or a secondary lever 66 for clarity. The or each secondary lever 66 are connected to a movable motor element 68 of the motor 54, here a linearly reciprocating element. The movable motor element 68 may be referred to as a yoke. When the motor 54 is activated, such as when it is spinning, the yoke may be moved backward and forward. The motor 54 is preferably a DC Gear motor. The or each mounting lever 62 may be connected to the or each secondary lever 66 via an axle respectively, which may be referred to as a moving axle 70. Similarly, the or each secondary lever 66 may be connected to the movable motor element 68 or an element associated therewith via a further axle. The pincer-input element 26 in-use enables a user to provide an input to control the position of the eyelash pincer 22. Referring back to Figures 1 to 3, the pincer-input element 26 in the first embodiment includes a joystick. The joystick may be clicked inwards and / or outwards. Thus, the joystick can be additionally used as a button. There are a number of possible mappings or configurations to translate an input of the pincerinput element 26 to motion of the pincer 22. For example, depressing the joystick may cause motion of the eyelash pincer 22 towards and / or away from the maximum extension position 42. Clicking the joystick, however, could be used to switch between modes or functions and / or between feature being controlled by the joystick. Motion of the eyelash pincer 22 in a forward and / or backward direction, in other words towards and / or away from the maximum extension position 42 can be controlled by up and / or down movement of the joystick. Clicking the joystick inward can switch mode from forward and / or backward motion of the pincer 22 to up and / or down motion of the pincer 22, and vice versa. Left and / or right motion of the joystick is controlled by left and / or right motion of the joystick. The joystick could be used to control both the eyelash-parting element 32 as well as the pincer 22, sequentially and / or simultaneously. Any addition or alternative to a joystick may be envisioned For instance, individual buttons, toggles or sliders may be provided for up / down, left / right, in / out motions. In a further modification, the user may be able to remotely provide an input via a remote third party device, such as a computing device, for example a smartphone. The computing device may be considered to be the pincer-input element instead. The pincer-input element 26 is communicable with the pincer actuation means 24. Communication may be mechanical, such as via one or more gears. Communication may be electrical such as via wires or tracks on a printed circuit board. Communication may be electronic, such as via wireless, Bluetooth, internet, NFC, with the pincer-input element and the pincer actuation means further including compatible communication modules. The pincer-input element 26 may include a pincer-control button or trigger. In any case, an input from the user is translated into movement of the eyelash pincer 22 via activation of at least one of: the x-axis sub-assembly 50, the y-axis sub-assembly 50, the z-axis sub-assembly 50, and the second assembly 48. The light-emitting element 28 in-use is able to emit light. Additional light may help a user see their eye and thus improve the accuracy of positioning of the applicator 14. Greater accuracy may further improve safety during use. More preferably, the light-emitting element 28 includes at least one Ultra-Violet (UV) light-emitting element. In the first embodiment, there are two UV light-emitting elements 28, but any number, including none, one or at least three may be envisioned. UV light may beneficially cure UV-curable adhesive. When exposed to UV light, UV-curable adhesive may dry or solidify faster than non-UV curable adhesive. High solidifying speed is beneficial when applying eyelashes, as it reduces the time the user has to wait for the adhesive 16 to dry or solidify whilst the user holds the false-eyelash 12 against the eyelid. This time saving is compounded by the number of false-eyelashes 12 that are to be applied. The light-emitting element 28 may be controlled by a lighting-control button 28a. If provided, the camera 30 in-use provides at least one image, more preferably a video, and even more preferably a live video. The image or video shows a close-up of the user’s eyelid at least. The camera 30 may send the feed to a user interface. The user interface may for example, be part of a remote device, such as a computing device. The computing device may be a computer; monitor, or a smartphone, by way of examples only. The eyelash-parting element 32 in-use is able to part eyelashes connected to the user’s eyelid. The eyelash-parting element 32 may be referred to as an eyelash separator or eyelash combs. The connected eyelashes may be the user’s natural eyelashes, false-eyelashes 12, or a combination thereof. The eyelash-parting element 32 includes a first parting arm 32a and a second parting arm 32b. Additional parting arms may be envisioned if wanted. At least one of: the first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b may be movable relative to each other. More preferably, both the first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b are movable relative to each other. Thus, the first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b are movable such that the eyelashparting element 32 is actuatable between a closed position and an open position, similar to the eyelash pincer 22. The first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b may be translatably and / or, preferably, pivotably movable relative to each other. In the closed position, at least part of the first parting arm 32a and at least part of the second parting arm 32b are abutted or adjacent to each other. When in the open position, the first parting arm 32a and second parting arm 32b are spaced-apart from each other by a gap, referred to as a parting gap 33 for clarity. Unlike the eyelash pincer 22, the eyelash-parting element 32 when in the closed condition is not intended to hold any false-eyelash 12 between the parting arms 32a,32b. Instead, the closed condition enables the eyelash-parting element 32 to be inserted or inserted with greater ease between two eyelashes connected to the eyelid. When in the open condition, the eyelash-parting element 32 parts or spaces apart two adjacent eyelashes connected with the eyelid. The parting of the eyelashes provides or widens an access to the roots of the eyelashes, thereby facilitating the insertion of the false-eyelash 12 held by the eyelash pincer 22 between the parted eyelashes. Parting also beneficially prevents or inhibits any adhesive applied to the root of the false eyelash being inserted, from contacting and accidentally applying adhesive to the existing eyelashes along their length. Adhesive may result in eyelashes becoming accidentally adhered together. Visible adhesive may also reduce the aesthetics and / or realism. Preferably, each parting arm 32a,32b has an extension section 72a and an eyelashcontacting section 72b, but either may be omitted and / or a plurality of either may be provided. Optionally, the extension section 72a is linear or generally linear, but non-linear or part linear may be options. The eyelash-contacting section 72b may extend in a direction which generally differs to that of the extension section 72a. This beneficially allows the eyelash-parting element 32 to extend or emerge from the applicator body 18 at a different position relative to where the eyelash pincer 22 extends or emerges from the applicator body 18 or head 18a thereof. Preferably, the eyelash-contacting section 72b is curved in the illustrated embodiment, but non-curved may be envisioned. This avoids the tip of the parting arm 32a,32b being directed towards the eyeball in use, thereby reducing the risk of injury. The eyelash-parting element 32 or at least the first and / or the second parting arm 32a,32b thereof, is preferably movable along only one axis or in one direction. However, it could easily be envisioned that the eyelash-parting element or a parting arm thereof may be movable along more than one axis, such as along one or more of: the x-axis, y-axis, and the z-axis, similarly to the eyelash pincer. It may even be envisioned that the eyelash-parting element may be movable along a plurality of axes and the eyelash pincer may be only movable along only along two axes, or even just one axis instead. The eyelash pincer may only be movable along one linear direction. Preferably, the parting arms 32a,32b are pivotably movable relative to each other but translatably movable may additionally or alternatively be envisioned. Preferably, the eyelash pincer 22 and the eyelash-parting element 32 are arranged relative to each other such that in-use when the eyelash pincer 22 is in or moves towards the maximum extension position 42, the eyelash pincer 22 and / or a false-eyelash 12 held by the eyelash pincer 22 extends through the parting gap 33. This may beneficially enable insertion a root end of the false-eyelash 12 between two eyelashes extending from the user’s eyelid, the two eyelashes being parted by the eyelash-parting element 32. Furthermore, the eyelash-parting element 32 may also be limited to being at a safe distance from the user’s eye by the relative dimensions of the spacing distance and the dimensions of the eyelash-parting element 32 projecting from the applicator body 18. Referring now to Figure 6, the parting actuation means 34 in use enables the eyelashparting element 32 to be actuated between the open condition and the closed condition. The parting actuation means 34 is preferably a mechanical element, assembly or system. The parting actuation means 34 is preferably powered or powerable. More preferably, the parting actuation means 34 is electrically energisable but non-electrically energisable, such as manually operated, may be envisioned. The parting actuation means 34, also referred to as a parting actuator, is preferably similar or identical to the second assembly 48, having similar or identical at least one lever, at least one axle and a motor, although any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. For clarity, the term “parting” may be associated with any of the names of the features of the parting actuation means 34, to distinguish from the corresponding features of the pincer actuation means 24. Features of the pincer actuation means 24 may optionally be used in conjunction with the term “pincer”, for clarity. Thus, the parting actuation means 34 preferably has similar or same one or more parting mounting levers 62’, parting fixed axle 64’, parting secondary lever 66’, the parting motor 54’ having a parting movable motor element 68’, one or more parting moving axles 70’, and first parting arm 32a and second parting arm 32b, but any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Detailed description of the common features and of the caveats is omitted for brevity. If a parting support hub is provided, it is preferably non-movable. The parting input element enables the user to provide an input to the parting actuation means 34. The parting input element may be a user-interaction element. Optionally, the parting input element and the pincer-input element 26 may be the same user-interaction element. If provided, the controller 36 in use provides control over one or more components of the applicator 14. The controller 36 may receive and process an input. The controller 36 may emit an output. The controller 36 includes a logic module 74, a memory module 76, and a first communication module 78, but any of the above may be omitted and / or a plurality of any of the above may be provided. Additional modules may be considered, as required. The controller 36 may be a Printed Circuit Board, by way of example. Referring back to Figure 2, the controller 36 is illustrated in dashed lines. The logic module 74 may process an input, such as data, and / or provide an output, such as data, a command line to a said actuation means. The memory module 76 enables data to be stored, such as a software programme, data about the user’s morphology, a measurement of the spacing distance. The first communication module 78 enables communication between components of the applicator 14 and / or between the applicator 14 and a further communication module, such as part of a third party device. The source of power 38a in use provides power to one or more components of the applicator 14. Preferably, the source of power 38a includes a battery and more preferably a rechargeable battery, but any alternative to a battery may be envisioned. For example, the source of power may be the electrical mains, or the user’s hand. The source of power 38a is preferably internal but could be partly or fully external. Preferably, the source of power 38a is within the applicator body 18. The connection to a source of power 38b in use enables the applicator 14 to be connected or connectable to the or a source of power 38a. For example, the connection to a source of power 38b be a wire, cable, or track on a circuit board. The connection to a source of power 38b may enable the applicator 14 to be plugged into the electrical mains, for example. This may be beneficial if the applicator does not include a source of power. The applicator 14 or at least the source of power 38a thereof may be controlled by a power button 80. The adhesive 16 in use enables a false-eyelash 12 to adhere to a user’s eyelid. The adhesive 16 is preferably hypoallergenic. The adhesive 16 may be Ultra-Violet (UV) curable adhesive 16. In Figure 1, the adhesive 16 is provided at the root end of each false-eyelash 12, but this is optional. The at least one false-eyelash 12 and more preferably a plurality of false-eyelashes 12 form a supply of false-eyelashes 12. Each eyelash 12 has a root end 12a and a tip end 12b. The root end 12a is associable with the eyelid. Preferably, each false-eyelash 12 is loose prior to application. In other words, a false-eyelash 12 is preferably not connected to any other false-eyelash 12 prior to application to the user’s eyelid. Optionally, each false-eyelash 12 may be provided with an amount of adhesive 16 pre-applied to the root end 12a. In use, a, notionally first, user may wish to enhance their appearance by applying one or more false-eyelashes to their eyelid or eyelids. The first user may obtain a kit 10 or at least an applicator 14 thereof, as per Step S100 in Figure 8. Alternatively, the first user may go to a beauty salon or similar establishment to have a, notionally second, user apply the false eyelashes. The second user, who may be a beauty technician, may be provided with a kit 10 or at least an applicator 14 thereof. If the first user or second user already has any parts of the kit 10, the first or second user may only need obtain part of the kit 10. At least one false-eyelash 12 is positioned within the eyelash pincer 22, and more preferably between the first pincer arm 44a and second pincer arm 44b, when the eyelash pincer 22 is in the open condition, as per Step S200. The eyelash pincer 22 is actuated into the closed condition via the pincer actuation means 24, as per Step S300. Actuation of the pincer actuation means 24 may be due to an input from the user, such as via the pincer-input element 26. The or each eyelash 12 is positioned such that the or each root end 12a extends from the eyelash pincer 22. Preferably, the root end 12a of the false-eyelash 12 extends in a direction at least partly away from the applicator body 18. If adhesive 16 is not already associated with the false-eyelash 12, adhesive 16 may be applied by the user to the root end 12a in Step S400. Preferably, the adhesive is a UV-curable adhesive. Optionally, if adjustable, the face-spacer element 20 may be adjusted before and / or during abutment against the first user’s face, at Step S500. As shown in Figure 7 and in Step S600, the face-spacer element 20 is abutted against the first user’s face. Abutment of the face-spacer element 20 position user’s face spacedapart from the applicator body 18 by the spacing distance 82. If the false-eyelash applicator 14 includes an eyelash-parting element 32, eyelashes extending from the user’s eyelid may be parted first, using the eyelash-parting element 32, as per Step S700. The eyelash-parting element 32, preferably in the closed condition, is positioned between two eyelashes extending from the user’s eyelid. Actuation of the eyelash-parting element 32 from the closed condition to the open condition parts or separates the eyelashes extending from the user’s eyelid. In the preferred embodiment, the user provides an input to actuate the eyelash-parting element 32, preferably via the parting actuation means 34. More preferably, the user provides the input to the parting input element. The input causes the parting motor 54’ to move at least one of the parting mounting levers 62’. As a result, the first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b connected to the parting mounting levers 62’ are moved towards and / or away from each other. If the one or more parting mounting levers 62’ are connected to the parting motor 54’ via one or more parting secondary lever 66’, the parting motor 54’ moves the one or more parting secondary lever 66’. The first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b move relative to each other, here by pivoting around the parting fixed axle 64’. If required, the eyelash pincer 22 may be moved left or right, up or down, or any combination thereof, at Step S800. The pincer actuation means 24 is actuated to move the eyelash pincer 22 along the pincer-movement path towards the maximum extension position 42 at Step S900. In Figure 7, the pincer 22 is in the maximum extension position 42. The pincer 22 and / or a false-eyelash 12 held by the pincer 22 may be moved between the first parting arm 32a and the second parting arm 32b, such as in or through the parting gap 33 if a parting gap 33 is formed when the eyelash-parting element 32 is in the open condition. When the root end 12a of the false-eyelash 12 contacts the user’s eyelid, the false-eyelash 12 is adhered to the eyelid. If the adhesive is a UV-curable adhesive, the Ultra-Violet light-emitting element 28 is activated to emit UV light to cure the UV-curable adhesive 16 at Step S1000. This may involve the user pressing a button or other user-interactable element. The false-eyelash 12 is released from the eyelash pincer 22. This is achieved by actuation of the eyelash pincer 22 from the closed condition into or towards the open condition by the pincer actuation means 24, at Step S1100. If any more false-eyelashes 12 need to be applied, at least one false-eyelash 12 is positioned within the eyelash pincer 22 and the above steps are repeated, as per Step S1200. The applicator 14 is moved away from the face of the user when the applicator 14 is no longer required, and optionally, between each false-eyelash 12 being applied. Figures 9 to 11 illustrate a second embodiment of a kit 110 including an applicator 114 and a charging dock 184. This is enabled by a spacer actuation means or spacer actuator 286 which is shown in Figures 9 to 11. As shown, the spacer actuation means 286, includes a slider, at least. The charging dock 184 in use enables charging of the source of power 138a, for example, if the applicator 114 includes a rechargeable source of power 138a. The uses of the second embodiment are similar to the uses of the first embodiment. If the face-spacer element 120 is adjustable and if wanted, the user may adjust the facespacer element 120. In the illustrated second embodiment, the face-spacer element 120 or at least one spacer member 120a thereof is moved via the slider. Adjustment of the face-spacer element 120 may beneficially increase comfort and / or ensure the applicator body 118 and any components of the applicator 114 such as the eyelash pincer 122 and / or eyelash-parting element 132 are at a safe distance from the user’s eye at all time. If a charging dock 184 is provided and the applicator 114 is rechargeable, the applicator 114 may be associated with the charging dock 184 to recharge the applicator 114 when required.
