Abstract

The shelf support member, which is an article according to the present design, is dedicated to wooden shelves. As shown in the perspective view showing the usage state, it includes a horizontally protruding receiving part a for receiving the wooden shelf, and two locking parts b that protrude in a substantially L-shaped manner obliquely rearward and downward on the back surface in the right side view. Two screw holes c for fixing the wooden shelf are formed at both ends of the receiving part a. When using the shelf support member, insert the two locking parts b into the holes of the same height formed in the columns on both sides of furniture or shelves, and also insert the locking parts b into the holes of the same height on the opposite side (not shown). Place the wooden shelf on the receiving part a of each shelf support member. By fixing the shelf support member and the wooden shelf with wood screws through the screw holes c, it is possible to prevent the wooden shelf from falling off during an earthquake or disaster and the items placed on the wooden shelf from being damaged. That is, by forming the two screw holes c in the receiving part a of the shelf support member, a shelf support member with excellent earthquake resistance and the like can be realized. Hereinafter, the differences between the shelf support member used in conventional furniture and the shelf support member of the article according to the present design will be described. The shelf support member used in conventional furniture is composed of four dowels in a substantially cylindrical shape. These four dowels are screwed into the holes of the same height with screws, and the wooden shelf is placed on the four dowels. When adjusting the height of the wooden shelf with the conventional shelf support member, unscrew all four dowels, screw the dowels into the desired height positions at four places, and place the wooden shelf on top. Thus, when adjusting the height with the conventional shelf support member, it is necessary to adjust the positions of all four dowels, which takes time and effort for adjusting the height of the wooden shelf. In contrast, the shelf support member of the article according to the present design is in a substantially bar shape and the two locking parts b are integrated, so the wooden shelf can be received by two shelf support members. Also, because it is in a substantially bar shape, by checking the horizontal of the bar, anyone can easily check the horizontal of the shelf support member. Further, for the shelf support member of the article according to the present design, when the locking parts b at both ends are inserted into the holes so that the shelf support member is horizontal, the heights of the two locking parts b automatically coincide. Therefore, by aligning the heights of the other opposing shelf support members, it is possible to easily make the heights of the locking parts b inserted into the four holes coincide.Accordingly, when adjusting the height of a wooden shelf using the shelf support member of the design of the present application, it is not necessary to attach and detach the screws of the four dowels as in the conventional shelf support member, so the height can be easily adjusted. By setting the thickness of the steel of the shelf support member of the design of the present application to 2.3 mm, which is the limit at which bending is possible, the load-bearing strength is increased compared to a general dowel support, which is a conventional shelf support member, and safety can be ensured. The shape obtained by effectively processing the steel thickness of 2.3 mm makes it possible to make the shelf support member as compact as possible while ensuring functionality and mobility. A compression test was conducted at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Center, and it was confirmed that there was no change up to 60 kg with one of the shelf support members of the design of the present application with the two locking portions b inserted into the holes. In the case of a dowel, which is a conventional shelf support member, the load-bearing capacity is 40 kg at four locations and 20 kg at two locations, which is less than half of the shelf support member of the design of the present application. Thus, as a result of various verifications, the shelf support member of the design of the present application has significantly higher practicality, functionality, mobility, and safety than a dowel, which is a conventional shelf support member, and is extremely useful.
