Electric Drive Unit

Abstract

This article is an electric drive unit mounted on a saddle-type electric vehicle such as a motorcycle or three-wheeled vehicle. As shown in the "Reference Plan View Showing the Names of Each Part," in a plan view, the motor, gear case, and inverter are arranged in this order in the vehicle width direction, with the output shaft protruding from the gear case. Similarly, in a plan view, the inverter is arranged to protrude further in the vehicle's direction of travel than the gear case, and the power supply terminal connection portion is arranged on the inverter portion protruding from the gear case in the vehicle's direction of travel, facing the motor in the vehicle width direction. Therefore, the power supply terminal connection space is located inside the range of the inverter's protrusion in the vehicle's direction of travel and inside the gear case and motor in the vehicle width direction.
