Abstract

The article of this design is a jig used to insert a short pipe, such as a PVC pipe, into an existing drainage pipe and bond the short pipe to the inner surface of the existing drainage pipe. As shown in the reference diagram indicating the names of each part, the inner tube bonding jig comprises a cylindrical height adjustment section, multiple gripping sections arranged around the inner diameter of the height adjustment section, and multiple legs arranged around the outer periphery of the multiple gripping sections. A thin-walled clearance blade is formed at the tip of the gripping section. The clearance blade acts as a spacer to maintain the gap between the outer surface of the PVC pipe and the inner surface of the existing drainage pipe. The inner tube bonding jig is used to repair existing drainage pipes, as shown in Reference Figure 1, which shows the state of use, and Reference Figure 2, which also shows the state of use. Referring to Reference Figure 1, which shows the state of use, this repair involves first removing the water seal from the drain outlet equipped with the bell trap inside the room by cutting and grinding (see (a) and (b)), and then polishing away any deposits that have adhered to the inner surface of the existing drain pipe connected to the bell trap (see (c)). Referring to Reference Figure 2, which shows the state of use, the PVC pipe is inserted into the opening of the inner tube bonding jig, and the PVC pipe with the inner tube bonding jig attached is inserted into the existing drain pipe (see (a) and (b)). The inner diameter of the gripping part around the opening of the inner tube bonding jig is approximately the same as the outer diameter of the PVC pipe, so the PVC pipe is gripped and fixed in place. The legs of the inner tube bonding jig are supported by the tray, which is the bottom of the bell trap. By pouring liquid adhesive into the tray of the bell trap, the adhesive fills the gap between the outer surface of the PVC pipe and the inner surface of the existing drain pipe through the gap where the gripping part of the inner tube bonding jig is not formed (see (b)). By aligning the top surface of the height adjustment part of the inner tube bonding jig with the end surface of the PVC pipe, the height from the tip of the leg to the end surface of the PVC pipe can be adjusted. After the adhesive has hardened, the worker grasps the handle of the inner tube bonding jig and pulls it up, exposing the top of the PVC pipe. The exposed top of the PVC pipe can be used as a new drain outlet by connecting another adapter if necessary.
