Abstract

The article to which this design pertains is used as a waist string when dressing in Japanese clothing. This design has a structure that is wide in the middle and narrows at both ends, with an opening at a position wider than both ends. When dressing, one end of the string is passed through this opening and wrapped around the waist, so that the string and the kimono are always tightly fastened together. Since there are no crossing points of the string, the kimono is less likely to slip off, which is more effective in preventing it from becoming loose. In addition, both ends of the string are thinner than the center, making it easier to tie and securely fasten.
