Abstract

This article is the tip portion of a steel pipe pile and comprises a main shaft and a tip member provided on the main shaft. In this article, the tip member is provided at one end of the main shaft in the axial direction and has a dome portion whose outer surface is curved so as it approaches the axis of the main shaft and moves away from the main shaft, and two drilling blades provided across the radially inner and radially outer portions of the outer surface of the dome portion and arranged so as to be point-symmetric with respect to the axis when viewed along the axis, with each of the two drilling blades positioned away from the axis. The shape of each of the two drilling blades is curved so that the convex surface faces the direction of rotation of the main shaft when viewed along the axis. The radius of curvature of the convex surface of each of the two drilling blades is constant. The radially outer ends of each of the two drilling blades overlap the outer surface of the main shaft when viewed along the axis. When a steel pipe pile is driven into the ground while rotating, the soil below the steel pipe pile and along the axis of the main shaft moves radially outward along the outer surface of the dome section. As a result, the steel pipe pile can be easily driven into the ground.
