AI Technical Summary
Conventional methods for attaching gemstones to jewelry result in visible structural elements that obscure the gemstones, reducing their sparkle and aesthetic appeal.
A method involving a three-level gemstone composition where each level is transparent or translucent, with a through aperture in the middle, allowing the gemstones to form a unitary body that is then secured to jewelry using adhesives or fasteners, ensuring the gemstones are not obscured by supporting structures.
The method enhances the radiant effect and visual appeal of gemstones by keeping supporting structures invisible, maintaining their sparkle and appearance.

Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] In the process of manufacturing jewellery with embedded gemstones, the method followed to attach these gemstones to the jewellery is as follows: for a solitaire, a separate sheet (cell) is formed in the metal mesh to receive the gemstone and support it with its lower facets. The sides of the metal cell are then folded over the top of the gemstone to hold it within the cell, fixing it onto the jewellery. [Background technology]
[0002] If the composition contains several gemstones, a grid of angular sections is created for precise positioning and retention according to the shape of the gemstones. The cells formed by the vertical sides of the angular sections have exactly the shape of the gemstones, and the horizontal sides of the angular sections are used to accommodate and support these gemstones from below. To retain the gemstones through the cells of the grid, notches-projections-folds are made in the upper part of the vertical sides of the angular sections, which overlap with a part of the upper side of the gemstones, thus retaining-stabilizing them in the metal cell-socket. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0003] The disadvantages of the methods in paragraphs
[0001] and
[0002] are as follows:
[0004] The notch-protrusion-fold on the top surface of the gemstone is always visible and covers part of the gemstone.
[0005] On the underside of the piece, one can further see the horizontal profile of the square section metal that houses and supports the gemstone.
[0006] The possibilities for revealing the lateral parts of the composition are limited, since these parts are covered by the entire structure that supports and holds the gemstone on the jewellery.
[0007] The result of the above
[0004] ,
[0005] and
[0006] is to hide most of the gemstones, thus reducing their radiant effect (brilliance) and appearance. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] The proposed method of synthesizing composite gemstones is described in the following paragraphs. The numbering used herein refers to the numbered section-regions shown in Figures 1-5.
[0009] The figures listed below and used to understand the present method are as follows: [Brief description of the drawings]
[0010] [Figure 1] The levels (1), (3) and (2) on which the structure unfolds are shown in isometric view (7). [Diagram 2] A level (2) is developed in an isometric manner to show the indexing features (7), the groove-slide (8), and the opening (4) within which the base composition develops. [Diagram 3] The two levels (1) and (2) are developed in an isometric view, showing the surface (6) on which the base composition sits and the perimeter (5) of the opening (4) that defines the size of the base composition. [Figure 4] Diagram showing a side view of a three level structure and a plan view showing level (2) (level (3) has been removed) [Diagram 5] A diagram showing four different configurations from the infinite possible configurations of the peripheral cross section (5) as intersections of CC in the plane of FIG. 4 mentioned above. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0011] The composition of the gemstone unfolds in three levels from bottom to top. Level (1) is the level placed below, level (3) is placed above and level (2) is placed between them. The upper and lower levels are transparent or translucent and cover the basic composition that mainly involves layer (2). Layer (2) is also transparent or translucent, has a through aperture-opening (4) and is placed on layer (1). In this way, the through aperture-opening (4) of level (2) is transformed into a socket seat based on the apparent surface (6) of level (1) and the side of the perimeter (5) of the opening (4) (Figure 3).
[0012] It should be noted here that the cross-section of the side of the periphery (5) can be of any configuration, i.e. straight vertical, inclined linear, curved, or of any shape, e.g. T-shaped, etc. Four infinitely possible modulations are shown in FIG.
[0013] This socket opening (4), within which the gemstone's basic configuration (7) develops, can have any shape, such as rectangular, square, triangular, polygonal, circular, oval, etc.
[0014] The basic configuration of gemstones (7) consists of one to as many gemstones as desired, each of any shape, which form a tessellation, i.e. complement each other and thus cover the entire surface (6). The tessellation can also develop on a third axis, depending on the visual and aesthetic result one wants to achieve. This means that the gemstones can complement each other, not only for the purpose of covering a surface, but also for the purpose of covering a volume. They do not necessarily have to be of the same height, or be equal in themselves in all extents. Thus, when covering the space generated by the surface (6) and the surroundings (5) (fig. 3), the arrangement of the gemstones, which participates in the position of the tiles and results in the desired composition, will create recesses, gaps and protrusions at the interface that may or may not be covered by other cooperating tiles. In some cases, again here, parts of the space to be filled remain empty, depending on the visual and aesthetic result one wants to achieve.
[0015] The periphery (5) in Fig. 3 and the gemstones constituting the basic structure (7) in Fig. 1 can have a groove-slide (8) in Fig. 2 on certain sides depending on the design for better assembly-holding reasons. The shape of the groove (8) can be any shape in cross section, i.e. rectangular (as in the following shape), triangular, circular, etc.
[0016] After the opening (4) is covered with the level (2), the level (3) is placed on top of the level (2) to seal the composition.
[0017] The entire composition forms a single piece consisting of only the gemstone, which is then placed into the jewelry using adhesives, screws, rivets, drivers, or any other suitable attachment method.
[0018] In this case, the composition method described in paragraphs
[0011] to
[0017] relates to the composition of gemstones.
[0019] The advantages of the proposed method compared to conventional methods are described below.
[0020] The top, bottom and sides of the gemstone's base composition are not covered by a material that hides some of it, but rather is done in a transparent gemstone (Levels 1, 2 and 3) that highlights the properties and radiative properties of the gemstone's base composition from all sides of space. This is in stark contrast to the conventional methods and their associated shortcomings, as described in paragraphs
[0004] ,
[0005] ,
[0006] and
[0007] .
