FIG. 12 is a partially enlarged cross-sectional view of a battery module using a plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries as batteries. In the perspective views, the plan views, and the bottom views, parts of the first electrodes etc. are shaded with dots to make them easier to distinguish from other parts.

[0012] 1 to 6, the battery package 100 (100A) includes an insulating substrate 110, which has a first surface 111, a second surface 112 opposite to the first surface 111, and a recess 113 opening into the first surface 111. The battery package 100 (100A) includes a frame (frame body) 120 surrounding the recess 113 on the first surface 111, and a wiring conductor 130. The wiring conductor 130 includes a first electrode 131 located on the bottom surface of the recess 113, a second electrode 132 located between the frame 120 and the recess 113 on the first surface 111, a first external electrode 134A located on the second surface 112, and a second external electrode 134B located on the second surface 112. The battery package 100 (100A) includes a conductive sheet 140 electrically connected to the second electrode 132, and the conductive sheet 140 extends from the first surface 111 to the opening of the recess 113. The battery package 100 (100A) includes a lid 160 that covers the frame portion 120.

[0013] 2, 5, and 6, recess 113 of insulating substrate 110 is for accommodating battery 200. The size of recess 113 in a plan view is slightly larger than the size of battery 200 in a plan view, and the depth of recess 113 may be approximately the same as the thickness of battery 200.

[0014] As shown in Figs. 5 to 8, a first electrode 131 is provided on the bottom surface of the recess 113 of the insulating substrate 110. The first electrode 131 may extend from the bottom surface of the recess 113 to the inside of the insulating substrate 110. The first electrode 131 may cover the entire bottom surface of the recess 113. The extended portion of the first electrode 131 and a first external electrode 134A are electrically connected by a first connection wiring 133A. The first electrode 131 can be electrically connected to a lower electrode 201 of a battery 200 accommodated in the recess 113. The lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 is a negative electrode or a positive electrode.

[0015] When the first electrode 131 extends into the insulating substrate 110, the first connection wiring 133A is located in a thick portion of the insulating substrate 110, and is therefore superior in strength. Alternatively, the first electrode 131 may not extend into the insulating substrate 110, and the first connection wiring may penetrate from the bottom surface of the recess 113 to the second surface 112 and connect to the first external electrode 134A. In this case, the path from the battery 200 to the first external electrode 134A is short and has lower resistance, improving the efficiency of extracting power from the battery 200 accommodated in the recess 113.

[0016] The first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B may extend from the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110 to the side surfaces (including the corners between the side surfaces).

[0017] A second electrode 132 is provided on the outside of the recess 113 on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110. The second electrode 132 and the second external electrode 134B are electrically connected by a second connection wiring 133B. Since the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B are both located on the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110, the battery package 100 (100A), in other words, the battery module 500 (500A), can be surface mounted on a mounting board.

[0018] 5 to 7, a frame portion 120 surrounding the recess 113 is provided on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110. The frame portion 120 is provided on the outer edge of the first surface 111, and the second electrode 132 is located inside the frame portion 120. In other words, the second electrode 132 is located between the frame portion 120 and the recess 113 on the first surface 111.

[0019] In the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12, the frame 120 is composed of an insulating frame 121, a frame-shaped metal film 122 on the insulating frame 121, and a metal frame 123 joined to the frame-shaped metal film 122 with a brazing material. The insulating frame 121 is located on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110 and is integrated with the insulating substrate 110. The insulating substrate 110 can also be considered to have a recess 113 with a small opening on the bottom surface of a recess with a large opening. In other words, the insulating substrate 110 can also be considered to have a two-stage recess.

[0020] The frame-shaped metal film 122 may be formed by metallizing the upper surface of the insulating frame 121 made of, for example, ceramics. The metal frame 123 may be joined to the frame-shaped metal film 122 by, for example, brazing material. A nickel film may be formed by plating on the surfaces of the metal frame 123 and the frame-shaped metal film 122 in order to improve the bonding with the brazing material. The metal frame 123 should preferably be made of a material that has a small thermal expansion difference with the ceramics, and for example, an iron-nickel (Fe-Ni) alloy or an iron-nickel-cobalt (Fe-Ni-Co) alloy may be used.

[0021] 3 and 4, the conductive sheet 140 is provided extending from above the first surface 111 onto the opening of the recess 113. The conductive sheet 140 is electrically connected to the second electrode 132. Since the conductive sheet 140 extends onto the recess 113, it can be electrically connected to the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 accommodated in the recess 113. The upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 is a positive electrode or a negative electrode.

[0022] As described above, the frame 120 has the insulating frame 121 located on the first surface 111, and the metal frame 123 is located on the upper surface of the insulating frame 121. The conductive sheet 140 is located inside the insulating frame 121 on the first surface 111. The surface on which the conductive sheet 140 is located (the first surface 111) and the surface on which the metal frame 123 is located (the upper surface of the insulating frame 121) are located at different positions in the height direction. This makes it possible to prevent a short circuit between the conductive sheet 140 and the metal frame 123 while suppressing a positional deviation of the conductive sheet 140 with respect to the insulating substrate 110. In addition, since there is no short circuit between the conductive sheet 140 and the metal frame 123, the distance between the conductive sheet 140 and the metal frame 123 in a plan view can be reduced. Therefore, a smaller battery package 100 (100A) and a battery module 500 (500A) can be obtained.

[0023] In the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figures 1 to 12, two second electrodes 132 are provided on the first surface 111. The conductive sheet 140 is connected to the two second electrodes 132. That is, the conductive sheet 140 is connected to the wiring conductor 130 at two points. It is sufficient that the conductive sheet 140 is connected to the second electrode 132 at at least one point.

[0024] The conductive sheet 140 may be sized to cover the opening of the recess 113. In other words, the conductive sheet 140 may be sized to cover the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 accommodated in the recess 113. The conductive sheet 140 may be connected to the second electrode 132 in a state where it covers 50% or more of the opening area of the recess 113. This allows the conductive sheet 40 to be electrically connected to at least 50% or more of the area of the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200. By electrically connecting the conductive sheet 40 to 50% or more of the area of the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200, the connection resistance between the conductive sheet 40 and the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 is reduced, and the efficiency of taking out electricity is increased. In addition, the battery 200 can be protected from radiant heat from the cover 160 when the cover 160 is joined or when the battery module 500 (500A) is mounted.

[0025] As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, an opening of the frame 120 on the opposite side (upper side) to the insulating substrate 110 is closed by the lid 160. The lid 160 is joined to the metal frame 123 of the frame 120. By closing the opening of the frame 120 with the lid 160, the space S surrounded by the lid 160, the frame 120, and the insulating substrate 110 is hermetically sealed. The ratio of the space S to the battery module 500 may be set to, for example, 5% to 30%. The gap amount between the lid 160 and the conductive sheet 140 may be set to, for example, 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm. By setting the space S or the gap amount in this manner, when the battery 200 expands due to high temperature or gas is generated, an increase in internal stress or internal pressure of the battery 200 is alleviated, and the durability of the battery 200 is improved. Furthermore, even if external stress is applied to the lid 160, the space S between the lid 160 and the battery 200 reduces the stress applied to the battery 200.

[0026] The space S may be sealed in an atmosphere such as a nitrogen atmosphere, an argon gas atmosphere, or a vacuum, with a dew point of, for example, −20° C. or less. In this case, even if the environmental temperature and humidity rise, chemical reactions between moisture or oxygen and the battery material are suppressed, improving the heat resistance and lifespan of the battery 200.

[0027] 2, 5, and 6, a battery 200 is housed in the recess 113 of the battery package 100, and the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 is electrically connected to the first electrode 131 and the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 is electrically connected to the conductive sheet 140 to form a battery module 500. In other words, the battery module 500 includes the battery package 100 and the battery 200 housed in the recess 113 of the battery package 100 and electrically connected to the first electrode 131 and the conductive sheet 140.

[0028] As described above, the battery 200 has electrodes (upper electrode 202, lower electrode 201) on the upper and lower surfaces. By housing the battery 200 having electrodes on the upper and lower surfaces in the battery package 100 of the present disclosure, the battery 200 is surface-mounted on a mounting substrate. The internal configuration and materials of the battery 200 are not particularly limited as long as the battery 200 has electrodes on the upper and lower surfaces. For example, the battery 200 may be an all-solid-state battery having a structure in which a solid electrolyte is sandwiched between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The battery 200 may have current collectors on the outside of the positive electrode and the negative electrode.

[0029] As shown in Fig. 9, in the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12, a seal pattern 136 surrounding the periphery of the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B may be located on the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110. The seal pattern 136 is made of a conductive material such as a solderable metal. As shown in Fig. 10, the seal pattern 136 may surround the periphery of the first external electrode 134A and the periphery of the second external electrode 134B, respectively.

[0030] Since the seal pattern 136 is made of a solderable conductive material, the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B located inside the seal pattern 136 can be sealed by joining the seal pattern 136 to the pattern of the mounting board with solder. Since sealing by solder joining can be performed simultaneously with joining the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B to the electrodes of the mounting board with solder, it is efficient and highly productive, and does not require other sealing materials such as resin. Furthermore, sealing the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B can prevent leakage or short circuits between adjacent electronic components mounted due to moisture or the like during cleaning after mounting the battery module 500 (500A).

[0031] In addition, if the seal pattern 136 is not located on the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110, the peripheral portion of the battery module 500 (500A) can be sealed with a sealing material such as a resin material when the battery module 500 (500A) is surface-mounted on a mounting substrate.

[0032] According to the battery package 100 (100A) of the present disclosure, the conductive sheet 140 is connected to the second electrode 132 on the first surface 111 and extends to the opening of the recess 113 that houses the battery 200. The second electrode 132 is connected to the second connection wiring 133B in the insulating substrate 110 and is connected to the second external electrode 134B on the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110. Therefore, the insulator of the insulating substrate 110 is located between the recess 113 that houses the battery 200 and the wiring conductor 130 (second connection wiring 133B) located on the side of the recess 113. Therefore, the battery package 100 (100A) is reduced in the possibility of a short circuit between the upper electrode 202 and the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 housed in the recess 113.

[0033] Furthermore, according to the battery package 100 (100A) of the present disclosure, the conductive sheet 140 connecting the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 and the wiring conductor 130 (second electrode 132) can be made wide enough to cover the battery 200 housed in the recess 113. Therefore, the connecting material connecting the battery 200 housed in the recess 113 and the wiring conductor 130 (second electrode 132) has a lower electrical resistance than a thin wire. Therefore, the battery package 100 of the present disclosure has excellent efficiency in extracting power from the battery 200 housed in the recess 113.

[0034] Moreover, according to the battery package 100 (100A) of the present disclosure, the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 and the first external electrode 134A are electrically connected mainly by the first electrode 131 and the first connection wiring 133A located on the bottom surface of the recess 113. The first electrode 131 is located on the bottom surface of the recess 113 close to the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110 on which the first external electrode 134A is located. Therefore, the wiring length (current path) of the first connection conductor 133A located between the bottom surface of the recess 113 and the second surface 112 is short. In addition, this current path does not have a portion with high electrical resistance such as a connection part such as a wire. Therefore, the electrical resistance between the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 and the first external electrode 134A is relatively small, and the efficiency of extracting power from the battery 200 is excellent.

[0035] Furthermore, according to the battery package 100 (100A) of the present disclosure, the lid body 160 covers the opening of the frame portion 120 located outside the second electrode 132 connected to the conductive sheet 140. Since the opening of the frame portion 120 is located above the conductive sheet 140, the battery 200 can be hermetically sealed without shorting between the lid body 160 and the conductive sheet 140.

[0036] In this manner, the battery package 100 (100A) of the present disclosure can hermetically seal the battery 200 without causing a short circuit between the upper electrode 202 and the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200, and without discharging to the outside through the lid 160. Therefore, the battery package 100 (100A) of the present disclosure can efficiently extract power from the battery 200 to the outside through the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B.

[0037] According to the battery module 500 (500A) of the present disclosure, a battery 200 is housed in the battery package 100 (100A) as described above, so that the battery module 500 (500A) can be surface-mounted on a mounting board, and the power of the battery 200 housed inside the battery module 500 (500A) can be efficiently extracted.

[0038] FIG. 13 is a plan view showing another example of a battery module with the lid removed. FIG. 14 is a plan view showing another example of a battery module with the lid and conductive sheet removed. FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view taken along line XV-XV in FIG. 13. FIG. 16 is a cross-sectional view taken along line XVI-XVI in FIG. 13. FIG. 17 is a plan view showing another example of a battery module with the lid removed. FIG. 18 is a plan view showing another example of a battery module with the lid and conductive sheet removed. FIG. 19 is a cross-sectional view taken along line XIX-XIX in FIG. 17. FIG. 20 is a cross-sectional view taken along line XX-XX in FIG. 17.

[0039] The battery package 100 (100B, 100C) of the battery module 500 (500B, 500C) of the example shown in Figs. 13 to 20 does not include an insulating frame 121, unlike the battery package 100 (100A) of the battery module 500 (500A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12. As shown in Figs. 13 to 20, the frame 120 is composed of a frame-shaped metal film 122 provided on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110 and a metal frame 123 bonded thereto. This promotes the thinning of the battery package 100 (100B, 100C) and the battery module 500 (500B, 500C). The configuration of the frame-shaped metal film 122 and the metal frame 123 may be the same as that of the battery package 100 (100B, 100C) of the battery module 500 (500A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12.

[0040] The battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12 has two second electrodes 132, and the conductive sheet 140 and the wiring conductor 130 (second electrode 132) are connected at two points. In contrast, the battery package 100 (100B, 100C) of the example shown in Figs. 13 to 20 has one frame-shaped second electrode 132 along the opening of the recess 113. In the battery package 100 (100B) of the example shown in Figs. 13 to 16, the conductive sheet 140 and the wiring conductor 130 (second electrode 132) are connected at four points. In other words, the four corners of the conductive sheet 140 and the wiring conductor 130 (second electrode 132) are connected.

[0041] In this manner, in the battery package 100 (100A, 100B), the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132 are connected at multiple locations. This increases the connection area between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132, resulting in a lower resistance connection between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132, allowing for more efficient extraction of power from the battery 200. Furthermore, in the battery package 100 (100B) of the example shown in Figures 13 to 16, it is possible to prevent the corners of the conductive sheet 140 from getting between the battery 200 and the recess 113 and causing a short circuit.

[0042] In the battery package 100 (100C) of the example shown in FIGS. 17 to 20, the second electrode 132 is frame-shaped and surrounds the recess 113. When the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132 are connected to each other around the entire circumference surrounding the recess 113, the connection area between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132 is further increased. This further reduces the resistance of the connection between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132, allowing the power of the battery 200 to be extracted more efficiently. In addition, in the battery package 100 (100C) of the example shown in FIGS. 17 to 20, it is possible to prevent the corners of the conductive sheet 140 from getting between the battery 200 and the recess 113 and causing a short circuit.

[0043] As described above, the connection between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132 is not only an electrical connection but also a mechanical connection. That is, the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the second electrode 132 at a plurality of points. The plurality of electrical connection points are also a plurality of mechanical fixing points (a plurality of mechanical connection points). Therefore, the mechanical connection strength and connection reliability between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132 are improved. The conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110 via the conductive bonding material 150 and the second electrode 132.

[0044] In the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12, the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the insulating substrate 110 at two points that sandwich the recess 113 in a plan view. In the battery package 100 (100B) of the example shown in Figs. 13 to 16, the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the insulating substrate 110 at four points that surround the recess 113 in a plan view. The shape connecting the four connection points is a square, and the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the insulating substrate 110 at four points that sandwich the recess 113 in a plan view. In addition, the second electrode 132 of the battery package 100 (100C) of the example shown in Figs. 17 to 20 is frame-shaped that surrounds the recess 113, and the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the insulating substrate 110 around the entire circumference that surrounds the recess 113. It can also be said that the conductive sheet 140 is fixed at a position that sandwiches the recess 113 from all directions in a plan view.

[0045] In this way, in the battery package 100 (100A, etc.), the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the first surface 111 at a position sandwiching the recess 113 in a plan view, so that the connection points of the conductive sheet 140 and a part of the conductive sheet 140 located above the recess 113 sandwiched between the connection points do not move in the vertical direction. Therefore, the battery 200 is sandwiched and fixed between the first electrode 131 and the conductive sheet 140. It is possible to prevent the electrical connection between the electrodes of the battery 200 and the first electrode 131 and the conductive sheet 140 from being impaired due to the positional deviation of the battery 200 with respect to the insulating substrate 110. Therefore, it is possible to prevent an increase in resistance at the connection points between the electrodes of the battery 200 and the first electrode 131 and the conductive sheet 140.

[0046] Here, even when the conductive sheet 140 and the wiring conductor 130 are connected at two points and the line connecting the two connection points passes through the end of the recess 113 as in the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12, the conductive sheet 140 can hold the battery 200. Also, when the conductive sheet 140 and the wiring conductor 130 are connected at two points and the two connection points pass through the center of the recess 113 as in the battery package 100 (100B) of the example shown in Figs. 13 to 16, the effect of holding the battery 200 by the conductive sheet 140 is enhanced. Furthermore, when the conductive sheet 140 and the wiring conductor 130 are connected in all directions (frame-shaped) as in the battery package 100 (100C) of the example shown in Figs. 17 to 20, there are countless lines that pass through the center of the recess 113 and connect the two connection points, and the effect of holding the battery 200 by the conductive sheet 140 is further enhanced.

[0047] In the battery package 100 (100B) of the example shown in FIGS. 13 to 16, in order to reduce the resistance of the connection between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132, the conductive sheet 140 is electrically connected at all four fixing points to the insulating substrate 110. When the main purpose is to fix the battery 200, the conductive sheet 140 does not need to be electrically connected at all of the multiple fixing points. For example, in the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in FIGS. 1 to 12, two corners out of four corners of the rectangular conductive sheet 140 are connected to the second electrode 132. The remaining two corners of the conductive sheet 140 may be joined to the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110, so that the conductive sheet 140 may be fixed to the first surface 111 at positions sandwiching the recess 113 in the diagonal direction of the conductive sheet 140, similar to the battery package 100 (100B) of the example shown in FIGS. 13 to 16. In this case, the conductive sheet 140 is fixed without being electrically connected to the portion of the first surface 111 that does not have the second electrode 132. The portion of the conductive sheet 140 that is not electrically connected may be joined to the first surface 111 with a non-conductive bonding material.

[0048] 21 and 22 are cross-sectional views showing another example of a battery module.

[0049] The battery module 500 (500D) of the example shown in Fig. 21 has a similar configuration to the battery module 500 (500A) of the examples shown in Figs. 1 to 12, but is an example in which the metal frame 123 of the frame portion 120 is omitted and the number of connection points between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132 is increased. In the battery module 500 (500D) of the example shown in Fig. 21, the upper surface of the battery 200 protrudes upward beyond the opening of the recess 113. The central portion of the conductive sheet 140 connected to the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 is curved upwardly in a convex shape.

[0050] The battery module 500 (500E) of the example shown in FIG. 22 has a similar configuration to the battery module 500 (400B) of the example shown in FIGS. 13 to 16, and is an example in which the configuration of the frame portion 120 in the battery module 500 (500D) of the example shown in FIG. 21 is changed. The battery package 100E of the example shown in FIG. 22 has a similar configuration to the battery package 100 (100B, 100C) of the example shown in FIGS. 13 to 20. In the battery module 500 (500E) of the example shown in FIG. 22, the upper surface of the battery 200 is located below the opening of the recess 113. The central portion of the conductive sheet 140 connected to the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 is curved downward in a convex shape.

[0051] The conductive sheet 140 connected to the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 is in the form of a thin sheet. Therefore, as shown in Figures 21 and 22, even if the thickness of the battery 200 to be accommodated does not match the depth of the recess 113, the conductive sheet 140 deforms to follow the position of the upper surface of the battery 200, and the conductive sheet 140 and the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 are reliably connected. Therefore, the battery package 100 of the present disclosure can accommodate batteries 200 of different sizes, and the versatility of the battery package 100 is increased.

[0052] Here, in the battery package 100 (100D) of the example shown in FIG. 21, the upper surface (upper electrode 202) of the battery 200 is located above the opening of the recess 113. More precisely, the upper surface of the battery 200 is located above the second electrode 132. The center of the conductive sheet 140 is curved upwardly in a convex shape. The center of the conductive sheet 140 connected to the battery 200 is located at a higher position than the outer edge of the conductive sheet 140 to which the second electrode 132 is connected. In other words, among the entire area of the conductive sheet 140, the first area 140B located on the battery 200 is located at a higher position than the second area 140A located on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110. In this case, the reference position of the height is the surface (upper surface) of the first electrode 131 located on the bottom surface of the recess 113. This reference position may be the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110 or the bottom surface of the recess 113.

[0053] In the battery module 500 (500D) of the example shown in FIG. 21, the height Hb of the first region 140B located on the battery 200 is higher than the height Ha of the second region 140A located on the first surface 111 among the entire region of the conductive sheet 140. As described above, the battery 200 is sandwiched and fixed between the first electrode 131 and the conductive sheet 140. In the battery package 100 (100D) of the example shown in FIG. 21, the conductive sheet 140 is curved downward at the outer edge of the first region 140B, and the second region 140A is fixed to the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110 via the second electrode 132 and the like. In other words, the conductive sheet 140 is fixed to the second electrode 132 while covering the portion of the battery 200 protruding above the second electrode 132. Therefore, the conductive sheet 140 reduces the possibility of the battery 200 being misaligned in a planar direction along the bottom surface of the recess 113 (a direction perpendicular to the thickness direction of the battery package 100).

[0054] When the conductive sheet 140 is an elastic body, the conductive sheet 140 is brought into contact with the upper surface of the battery 200, and the conductive sheet 140 is slightly stretched and connected to the second electrode 132, so that the battery 200 can be pressed against the first electrode 131 by the elastic force of the conductive sheet 140. In this way, when the battery 200 has a structure in which the positive electrode layer 240, the electrolyte layer 230, and the negative electrode layer 220 are laminated, the battery 200 can be pressed down with the conductive sheet 140 to increase the adhesion between them. Therefore, it is possible to prevent peeling or displacement between the members constituting the battery 200. In addition, the pressure pressing down the battery 200 can reduce the electrical resistance between the positive electrode layer 240 (negative electrode layer 220) and the electrolyte layer 230, so that the efficiency of taking out electricity can be increased.

[0055] In the battery module 500 (500D) of the example shown in FIG. 21, the conductive sheet 140 presses down the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200, and a conductive bonding material 150 is provided between the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 and the conductive sheet 140. In addition, the conductive bonding material 150 is also provided between the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 and the first electrode 131. In the battery modules 500 (500A, etc.) of the examples shown in FIGS. 1 to 18 and 20, the conductive bonding material 150 is also provided between the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 and the conductive sheet 140, and between the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 and the first electrode 131.

[0056] Thus, in the battery module 500 (500A, etc.) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 22, the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 and the conductive sheet 140 are joined with the conductive bonding material 150, and the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 and the first electrode 131 are joined with the conductive bonding material 150. The electrical connection between the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 and the conductive sheet 140 and between the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200 and the first electrode 131 may be made by direct contact, but the electrical resistance of the connection is reduced by using the conductive bonding material 150. In addition, the mechanical connection strength between them is increased, reducing the possibility of the battery 200 being misaligned with respect to the insulating substrate 110, improving the electrical connection reliability of the battery module 500 (500A, etc.).

[0057] As shown in Figs. 5, 6, 15, 16, 19 to 22, the lid 160 is joined to the upper surface of the frame 120, closing the opening of the frame 120. The lid 160 may be any material that can close and seal the opening of the frame 120. If the lid 160 is made of ceramics or metal, the battery package 100 (100A, etc.) becomes robust against external impacts and has excellent airtight sealing properties, improving the connection reliability of the battery 200. The material of the lid 160 may be one that has a small thermal expansion difference with the ceramic insulating substrate 110, such as an iron-nickel (Fe-Ni) alloy or an iron-nickel-cobalt (Fe-Ni-Co) alloy.

[0058] The lid 160 can be joined to the frame 120 using, for example, a joining material such as a resin adhesive, glass, or a brazing material containing solder. In terms of airtightness, joining using glass or a brazing material as the joining material is preferable. When the lid 160 and the frame 120 are joined with a brazing material, a frame-shaped metal film 122 or a metal frame 123 is located on the upper surface of the frame 120. Also, something similar to the frame-shaped metal film 122 is provided on the outer edge of the lower surface of the lid 160 made of ceramics.

[0059] When the lid body 160 is made of metal, the lid body 160 can be joined to the frame portion 120 by welding. In the battery package 100, the lid body 160 is made of metal and is welded to the frame portion 120. This improves the airtight sealing property of the battery package 100. The lid body 160 may be joined to the metal frame body 123 of the frame portion 120 as in the examples shown in Figs. 5, 6, 15, 16, 19, 20, and 22, or may be joined to the frame-shaped metal film 122 of the frame portion 120 as in the example shown in Fig. 21.

[0060] When joining (welding) the lid body 160 to the metal frame body 123 of the frame part 120, for example, seam welding is used. When joining the lid body 160 to the frame-shaped metal film 122 of the frame part 120, direct seam welding, laser welding, or electron beam welding is used. When a joining material such as a brazing material is used, the joining of the lid body 160 to the frame part 120 is performed by total heating by reflow heating. In contrast, in the case of seam welding, direct seam welding, laser welding, or electron beam welding, the joining is performed by local heating of only the joint, so that the effect of heat on the battery 200 is reduced. In particular, seam welding is resistance welding via the metal frame body 123, and is advantageous in local heating of the joint.

[0061] The frame 120 has a frame-shaped metal film 122 on the insulating frame 121. Alternatively, the frame 120 has a frame-shaped metal film 122 and a metal frame 123 on the insulating frame 121. In these cases, the joint between the lid 160 and the frame-shaped metal film 122 or the metal frame 123 is separated from the joint between the battery 200 and the conductive sheet 140 and the connection between the conductive sheet 140 and the second electrode 132. This results in a long heat conduction path from the joint of the lid 160 to the battery 200, etc., and the insulating frame 121, which has a relatively low thermal conductivity, being included in the heat conduction path. Therefore, the effect of heat on the battery 200 when the lid 160 is joined to the frame 120 is reduced.

[0062] Although a current is applied to the lid body 160 during seam welding, the lid body 160 is not electrically connected to the battery 200, so the battery 200 is not damaged by the current during seam welding. Furthermore, since the conductive sheet 140 is positioned between the lid body 160 and the battery 200, the effect of radiant heat from the lid body 160 generated during welding on the battery 200 is also reduced.

[0063] Fig. 23 is a plan view showing another example of the battery module with the lid and the conductive sheet removed, and Fig. 24 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line XXIV-XXIV in Fig. 23.

[0064] 23 and 24, unlike the battery modules 500 (500A, etc.) of the examples shown in FIGS. 1 to 22, a spacer 170 is interposed between the lid body 160 and the conductive sheet 140. In the battery package 100 (100F) of the example shown in FIGS. 23 and 24, the spacer 170 may be located between the lid body 160 and the conductive sheet 140 and may be in contact with the lid body 160 and the conductive sheet 140. The spacer 170 may be an elastic body such as rubber or a spring.

[0065] For example, when a spacer 170 made of a rubber-like resin (elastic body) is used, the thickness of the spacer 170 is made thicker than the gap between the lid body 160 and the conductive sheet 140, so that the elastic force of the spacer 170 presses the conductive sheet 140 against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200. Even when a spacer 170 that is harder and less likely to deform is used, the elasticity of the thin plate-like lid body 160 presses the spacer 170 against the conductive sheet 140 by making the thickness of the spacer 170 thicker than the gap between the upper surface of the frame portion 120 (metal frame 123) and the upper surface of the conductive sheet 140, so that the conductive sheet 140 can be pressed against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200.

[0066] Moreover, butyl rubber or the like that is thermally expandable after sealing of the lid body 160 may be used as the spacer 170. In this case, the butyl rubber or the like is in contact with either the lid body 160 or the conductive sheet 140 when the lid body 160 is sealed. The butyl rubber or the like is in contact with both the lid body 160 and the conductive sheet 140 by thermally expanding after sealing of the lid body 160. Therefore, the heat generated when the lid body 160 is joined is not transmitted to the battery 200 via the spacer 170, and the possibility of damage to the battery 160 is reduced.

[0067] The spacers 170 press the conductive sheet 140 against the batteries 200, thereby reducing the electrical resistance between the conductive sheet 140 and the batteries 200 and reducing the possibility of the batteries 200 being misaligned with respect to the insulating substrate 110. The battery module 500 (500F) of the example shown in Figures 23 and 24 can achieve such effects regardless of the presence or absence of the conductive bonding material 150 between the conductive sheet 140 and the upper electrodes 202 of the batteries 200.

[0068] The spacer 170 may be made of an insulating material so as to prevent discharge from the lid body 160 due to a short circuit between the lid body 160 and the upper electrode of the battery 200. Even if the spacer 170 is not insulating, if the electrical resistance of the spacer 170 is sufficiently larger than the electrical resistance of the conductive sheet 140, most of the current from the battery 200 flows to the conductive sheet 140, so that discharge from the lid body 160 can be suppressed. In other words, if the electrical conductivity of the spacer 170 is sufficiently smaller than the electrical conductivity of the conductive sheet 140, discharge from the lid body 160 can be suppressed.

[0069] When the spacer 170 is made of a conductive material, an insulating film may be provided on the lower surface of the spacer 170. Alternatively, an insulating protective sheet for protecting the battery 200 may be provided between the spacer 170 and the conductive sheet 160.

[0070] 25 and 26 are cross-sectional views showing another example of a battery module.

[0071] In the example battery package 100 (100G) shown in Fig. 25, the lid body 160 has a protrusion 161 that contacts the conductive sheet 140. The protrusion 161 is formed by increasing the thickness of the center part of the lid body 160 and protruding downward. The lid body 160 having the protrusion 161 may be produced by bonding the protrusion 161 to a flat plate, or may be produced by die pressing or the like.

[0072] In the case where the lid body 160 has the convex portion 161, the conductive sheet 140 is pressed against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 without using the spacer 170. That is, the convex portion 161 located on the lower surface of the lid body 160 can press the conductive sheet 140 against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200. The conductive sheet 140 is pressed against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 by the convex portion 161, so that the electrical resistance between the conductive sheet 140 and the battery 200 is reduced, and the power extraction efficiency of the battery 200 is increased. In particular, if the convex portion 161 has a flat pressing surface, the area of the conductive sheet 140 that is uniformly pressed is reduced, and the power extraction efficiency of the battery 200 is increased. In addition, the possibility of the battery 200 being misaligned with respect to the insulating substrate 110 is reduced.

[0073] In the example battery package 100 (100H) shown in FIG. 26, the lid body 160 is plate-shaped, and the thickness of the lid body 160 is approximately the same all over. The lid body 160 has a protrusion 162 that contacts the conductive sheet 140. The protrusion 162 is formed by protruding downward from the center of the lid body 160. The protrusion 162 has a flat pressing surface 162f for pressing the conductive sheet 140 against the battery 200. It is preferable that the area of the pressing surface 162f of the protrusion 162 be 50% or more of the opening area of the recess 113.

[0074] The protrusion 162 may be turned upside down to press the conductive sheet 140 from above toward the battery 200. In FIG. 26, the protrusion 162 before being turned upside down is shown by a two-dot chain line. It is desirable to seal the space S in a state where the pressure is reduced below atmospheric pressure so that the protrusion 162 can be easily turned upside down. The lid 160 having the protrusion 162 may be made by punching a metal plate. The lid 160 having the protrusion 162 may be made by punching a metal plate and pressing it at the same time. The protrusion 162 may have a curved pressing surface instead of a flat pressing surface 162f.

[0075] In the case where the lid body 160 has the protrusion 162, the conductive sheet 140 is pressed against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 without using the spacer 170. That is, the protrusion 162 located on the lower surface of the lid body 160 can press the conductive sheet 140 against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200. The conductive sheet 140 is pressed against the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200 by the protrusion 162, so that the electrical resistance between the conductive sheet 140 and the battery 200 is reduced, and the power extraction efficiency of the battery 200 is increased. In particular, if the protrusion 162 has a flat pressing surface 162f, the area of the conductive sheet 140 that is uniformly pressed is increased, and the power extraction efficiency of the battery 200 is increased. In addition, the possibility of the battery 200 being misaligned with respect to the insulating substrate 110 is reduced.

[0076] In the case where the convex portion 162 presses the conductive sheet 140 by being inverted after the lid body 160 is joined, the convex portion 162 is not inverted when the lid body 160 is joined and is not in contact with the conductive sheet 140, so that the heat generated when the lid body 160 is joined is not easily conducted to the conductive sheet 140 and the battery 200. In addition, in the case where the lid body 160 is joined by, for example, seam welding (resistance welding), the current applied when the lid body 160 is joined is also not conducted to the battery 200, etc. Therefore, the possibility of the battery 200 deteriorating or being damaged is reduced. Furthermore, in the case where the battery 200 expands due to high temperature or gas is generated, the convex portion 162 is inverted outwardly in a convex shape and the internal space S becomes larger, so that the increase in the internal pressure can be mitigated.

[0077] 25 and 26, the conductive sheet 140 is composed of a conductor sheet 141 and an insulator sheet 142. The conductor sheet 141 electrically connects the battery 200 and the wiring conductor 130 (second electrode 132). The insulator sheet 142 ensures insulation between the conductor sheet 141 and the metal cover body 160.

[0078] The conductive sheet 140 in the battery module 500 (500G, 500H) may have a structure in which copper foil and insulating resin such as polyimide resin are laminated, for example, like a flexible substrate. In addition, when the lid body 160 is made of a conductive material such as metal and the conductive sheet 140 does not have the insulator sheet 142, an insulating film may be provided on at least a portion (pressing surface) of the lower surface of the lid body 160 (surface on the conductive sheet 140 side) that comes into contact with the conductive sheet 140.

[0079] When the electrical resistance of the lid body 160 is sufficiently larger than the electrical resistance of the conductive sheet 140, most of the current from the battery 200 flows to the conductive sheet 140, so that it is possible to suppress discharge from the lid body 160. In other words, when the electrical conductivity of the lid body 160 is sufficiently smaller than the electrical conductivity of the conductive sheet 140, it is possible to suppress discharge from the lid body 160. For example, when the lid body 160 is made of the above-mentioned iron-nickel (Fe-Ni) alloy or iron-nickel-cobalt (Fe-Ni-Co) alloy, a low-resistance metal such as copper or aluminum may be used as the constituent material of the conductive sheet 140.

[0080] Fig. 27 is a plan view showing another example of the battery module with the lid and the conductive sheet removed, and Fig. 28 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line XXVIII-XXVIII in Fig. 27.

[0081] Up to now, the recess 113 of the insulating substrate 110 has been shown as an example in which the recess 113 has a circular shape in plan view and a cylindrical shape with a constant depth, but the shape of the recess 113 is not limited to this, and can be a shape according to the shape of the battery 200. For example, the recess 113 of the battery package 100 (100I) in the example shown in Figs. 27 and 28 has a rectangular shape in plan view. The rectangular shape means not only a strict rectangle with right angles, but also a rectangle with rounded corners. The shape of the recess 113 in plan view may be a polygonal shape other than a square shape, or an elliptical shape. In addition, the depth of the recess 113 is not constant, and the central part of the recess 113 is deeper, so that the recess 113 is a two-stage recess. If the insulating frame 121 integrated with the insulating substrate 110 is included, the recess 113 can also be said to be a three-stage recess.

[0082] 27 and 28, the battery 200 of the battery module 500 (500I) has an upper electrode 202, a lower electrode 201, and a solid electrolyte 203 sandwiched between the upper electrode 202 and the lower electrode 201. The lower electrode 201 is slightly smaller than the solid electrolyte 203 and the upper electrode 202, and the cross-sectional shape of the battery 200 of the example shown in FIGS. 27 and 28 is downwardly convex (T-shaped). The cross-sectional shape of the recess 113 is a shape that matches the cross-sectional shape of the battery 200 of the example shown in FIGS. 27 and 28.

[0083] In the battery module 500 (500I) of the example shown in FIGS. 27 and 28, the size of the recess 113 in a plan view is larger than the size of the battery 200 in a plan view, and there is a gap between the battery 200 and the inner wall of the recess 113. The insulating member 300 is inserted into this gap. Thus, in the battery module 500 (500I) of the example shown in FIGS. 27 and 28, the insulating member 300 is located between the side surface of the battery 200 and the inner surface of the recess 113. Such an insulating member 300 further reduces the possibility of the battery 200 being misaligned with respect to the insulating substrate 110. In addition, when the insulating member 300 has adhesive properties, the battery 200 is more firmly fixed to the recess 113. Furthermore, since the insulating member 300 is insulating, the insulation between the side surface of the battery 200 and the second electrode 132 is further improved. In addition, since the gap between the side surface of the battery 200 and the inner surface of the recess 113 is filled with the insulating member 300, the possibility of a short circuit occurring between the upper electrode 202 and the lower electrode 201 via the conductive sheet 140 is reduced.

[0084] Fig. 29 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line XXIX-XXIX in Fig. 30. Fig. 30 is a bottom view of another example of the battery module.

[0085] Up to this point, only an example of the battery package 100 that houses only the battery 200 has been described, but the battery package 100 (100J) of the example shown in Figs. 29 and 30 may house electronic components 400 and the like other than the battery 200. In this case, the battery 200 and the electronic components 400 may be arranged so as to overlap in plan view so that the battery package 100 (100J) and the battery module 500 (500J) do not become large by providing a space for housing the electronic components 400. For this purpose, the insulating substrate 110 of the battery package 100 (100J) shown in the example of Figs. 29 and 30 has a second recess 114 for housing the electronic components 400, and the second recess 114 opens to the second surface 112. This allows the length of the wiring connecting the battery 200 and the electronic components 400 to be shortened, resulting in low resistance of the wiring.

[0086] In the second recess 114, for example, a power supply IC for controlling the battery 200 may be mounted as the electronic component 400. The power supply IC is a semiconductor element for controlling the battery. The power supply IC includes a DC / DC converter that supplies a constant power supply voltage, a reset IC that monitors the power supply, and a switch IC that turns the power supply on and off. The recess 113 that opens to the first surface 111 and the second recess 114 that opens to the second surface 112 are located in overlapping positions in a planar perspective. The battery 200 and the electronic component 400 (power supply IC) are mounted overlapping in a planar perspective. Therefore, the operation of the battery 200 can be controlled, and the battery module 500 (500J) can be made smaller.

[0087] 29 and 30, the electronic component 400 is fixed to the bottom surface of the second recess 114 with a bonding material (not shown). An electrode (not shown) of the electronic component 400 and an internal electrode 135 provided on the bottom surface of the second recess 114 are electrically connected by a bonding wire (conductive connecting material 410). The electrode of the electronic component 400 and the internal electrode 135 may be electrically and mechanically connected by flip chip connection.

[0088] In addition to the power supply IC, electronic components 400 such as a coil and a capacitor may be mounted in the second recess 114. In the battery module 500 (500J) of the example shown in Figures 29 and 30, the opening of the second recess 114 may be closed with a lid (not shown), or the electronic components 400 may be sealed by covering them with sealing resin.

[0089] 1 to 30, the dimensions of the insulating substrate 110 are, for example, a rectangular side length of 1 mm to 20 mm, and a thickness of the insulating substrate 110 of 0.5 mm to 5 mm. The dimensions of the recess 113 of the insulating substrate 110 can be set according to the size of the battery 200.

[0090] 1 to 30, the insulating substrate 110 is formed by laminating a plurality of insulating layers. The insulating layers are made of an insulating material such as an aluminum oxide sintered body, a glass ceramic sintered body, a mullite sintered body, or an aluminum nitride sintered body.

[0091] When the insulating layer is made of, for example, an aluminum oxide sintered body, the insulating substrate 110 is manufactured as follows. That is, first, a ceramic green sheet to be the insulating layer is manufactured. A raw material powder such as aluminum oxide and silicon oxide is formed into a sheet shape together with an appropriate organic binder and an organic solvent to manufacture a plurality of rectangular ceramic green sheets. Next, these ceramic green sheets are stacked to manufacture a laminate. The recess 113 is formed by providing a through hole in the ceramic green sheet using a mold or the like. Then, the laminate is fired at a temperature of 1300 to 1600°C to manufacture the insulating substrate 110. When the frame portion 120 includes the insulating frame 121, the insulating frame 121 is formed at the same time as the insulating substrate 110. A laminate including a frame-shaped green sheet having a through hole provided therein using a mold or the like may be manufactured.

[0092] 1 to 30, wiring conductors 130 (first electrode 131, second electrode 132, first connection wiring 133A, second connection wiring 133B, first external electrode 134A, second external electrode 134B) are provided on the surface and inside of an insulating substrate 110. In addition, a frame-shaped metal film 122 is provided on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110 or on the insulating frame body 121 of the frame portion 120.

[0093] In the battery package 100 (100A, etc.) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 30, the first connection wiring 133A connecting the first electrode 131 and the first external electrode 134A and the second connection wiring 133B connecting the second electrode 132 and the second external electrode 134B are shown as through conductors penetrating the insulating substrate 110. The first connection wiring 133A and the second connection wiring 133B are not limited to this, and may include a conductor layer extending in the planar direction of the first surface 111 and the second surface 112 inside the insulating substrate 110. The first connection wiring 133A or the second connection wiring 133B may be connected to the first external electrode 134A or the second external electrode 134B from the inside of the insulating substrate 110 through the side surface. The side surface conductor constituting a part of the first connection wiring 133A and the second connection wiring 133B may be a recess (groove) provided on the side surface of the insulating substrate 110 filled with a conductor.

[0094] 1 to 30, the first electrode 131 and the first external electrode 134A may overlap in a planar perspective. The second electrode 132 and the second external electrode 134B may overlap in a planar perspective. In this case, the first connection wiring 133A and the second connection wiring 133B serving as through conductors can be shortened to suppress power loss due to wiring.

[0095] In the battery package 100 (100A, etc.) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 30, the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B may extend from the second surface 112 of the insulating substrate 110 to the side surface. In addition, in order to reduce the electrical resistance of the wiring conductor 130 and improve the efficiency of extracting power from the battery 200, for example, the first connection wiring 133A (through conductor) and the second connection wiring 133B (through conductor) may each be provided in a plurality of numbers. In the battery package 100 (100A) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 12, the first connection wiring 133A (through conductor) and the second connection wiring 133B (through conductor) each are provided in one or two numbers, but may be provided in a greater number.

[0096] The wiring conductor 130 and the frame-shaped metal film 122 mainly contain, as a conductor material, a metal such as tungsten, molybdenum, manganese, copper, silver, palladium, gold, platinum, nickel, or cobalt, or a metal material of an alloy containing these metals. Such a metal material is provided on the surface of the insulating substrate 110 as a metal layer such as a metallized layer or a plated layer. The metal layer may be a single layer or multiple layers. The metal layer may also be provided inside the insulating substrate 110 by metallization.

[0097] The conductor layer extending in the planar direction of the first surface 111 and the second surface 112, and the frame-shaped metal film 122, can be formed as follows, for example, when they are tungsten metallization layers. The conductor layer and the frame-shaped metal film 122 can be formed by printing a metal paste prepared by mixing tungsten powder with an organic solvent and an organic binder at a predetermined position on a ceramic green sheet to be the insulating substrate 110 by a method such as screen printing, and then firing the metal paste. The conductor layer includes the first electrode 131, the second electrode 132, the first external electrode 134A, and the second external electrode 134B of the wiring conductor 130. The seal pattern 136 can also be formed by the same material and method as the wiring conductor 130, and can be printed simultaneously with the first external electrode 134A and the second external electrode 134B. Therefore, the seal pattern 136 can be easily formed.

[0098] A plating layer of nickel, gold, or the like may be applied by a plating method such as electrolytic plating or electroless plating to the exposed surfaces of the metallized layers exposed to the outside, such as the first electrode 131, the second electrode 132, the first external electrode 134A, the second external electrode 134B, the seal pattern 136, and the frame-shaped metal film 122. The through conductors of the first connection wiring 133A and the second connection wiring 133B can be formed by providing through holes at predetermined positions in the ceramic green sheets and filling the through holes with the metal paste before printing the metal paste.

[0099] A wiring board including insulating substrate 110 and wiring conductor 130 may be produced in large numbers from a plurality of substrate regions arranged on a mother substrate. By dividing the mother substrate into substrate regions, a plurality of wiring boards can be produced more efficiently. In this case, a dividing groove may be provided along the boundary between the substrate regions on the mother substrate.

[0100] In the battery package 100 (100A, etc.) of the example shown in Figs. 1 to 30, the conductive sheet 140 is a sheet-like material made of a conductive material and is large enough to cover and connect 50% or more of the area of the upper electrode 202 of the battery 200. The conductive material may contain metals such as copper and aluminum, and alloys such as stainless steel. The conductive sheet 140 may be made of only a conductive material, or may be made of a composite material of a conductive material and an insulating material. The conductive sheet 140 may have a structure in which copper foil and insulating resin such as polyimide resin are laminated, like the flexible substrate described above.

[0101] The number of batteries 200 accommodated in the recess 113 of the battery package 100 is not limited to one, and may be multiple. A plurality of batteries 200 may be arranged and accommodated in one recess 113 in the planar direction of the bottom surface (direction perpendicular to the thickness direction), and the plurality of batteries 200 may be connected to one conductive sheet 140. Alternatively, a plurality of recesses 113 may be provided in the planar direction on the first surface 111 of the insulating substrate 110, batteries 200 may be accommodated in the plurality of recesses 113, and the plurality of batteries 200 may be connected to one conductive sheet 140 overlapping the plurality of recesses 113. In this case, the plurality of first electrodes 131 located on the bottom surfaces of the plurality of recesses 113 may be connected to one first external electrode 134A. Alternatively, one large first electrode 131 connected to the first external electrode 134A may be exposed on the bottom surfaces of the plurality of recesses 113. Furthermore, a plurality of batteries 200 may be stacked and accommodated in one recess 113 in the thickness direction (depth direction of the recess) so as to be connected in series. In this case, the upper and lower batteries 200 are connected (joined) by contact connection or a conductive bonding material.

[0102] As described above, by mounting a plurality of batteries 200 in one battery package 100 (100A, etc.), it is possible to improve the volumetric energy density of the battery module 500 (500A, etc.) compared to mounting only one battery 200. Furthermore, by mounting a plurality of batteries 200 in one battery package 100 (100A, etc.), rather than arranging battery packages 100 (100A, etc.) each mounting a single battery 200, it is possible to reduce the material cost of the battery package 100 (100A, etc.), reduce the size of the entire battery mounting area, and improve the efficiency of mounting.

[0103] In the conductive sheet 140 of the example shown in FIGS. 25 and 26, only the upper surface of the conductive sheet 141 on the lid body 160 side is covered with the insulator sheet 142. The lower surface of the conductive sheet 141 on the battery 200 side other than the portion connected to the battery 200 and the second electrode 132 may also be covered with the insulator sheet 142. In addition, as the composite material, for example, a conductive resin in which a conductive material is dispersed in a resin, or a conductive resin in which a conductive material is bonded with a resin may be used. As described above, the conductive sheet 140 is connected to the second electrode 132 via the conductive bonding material 150, but when the conductive sheet 140 is made of a metal foil, it may be joined to the second electrode 132 by resistance welding.

[0104] Solder or a conductive adhesive may be used as the conductive bonding material 150. A conductive adhesive capable of bonding at low temperatures may be used as the conductive bonding material 150. Silver nanopaste may be used as the conductive bonding material 150 in order to achieve electrical connection at lower temperatures.

[0105] 23 and 24, the spacer 170 is not limited to being made of the above-mentioned resin, and may be made of, for example, ceramics or metal. When the spacer 170 is made of a conductive material such as metal, the surface of the spacer 170 may be covered with an insulating material.

[0106] The battery module 500 may include a desiccant (not shown) that absorbs moisture. The desiccant may be located on the lower surface of the lid 160, or may be located below the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200. When the desiccant is located below the lower electrode 201 of the battery 200, another small recess may be further provided on the bottom surface of the recess 113, and the desiccant may be disposed in this other recess. The desiccant may be located between the side surface of the battery 200 and the inner surface of the recess 113. By including a desiccant in the battery module 500, deterioration of the battery material of the battery 200 due to chemical changes caused by moisture can be suppressed. Note that, for example, silica gel or calcium chloride may be used as the desiccant.

[0107] The battery 200 may be a coin battery in which battery materials such as an electrolyte material, a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator are disposed in a metal container and sealed. A coin battery is also called a button battery. The battery 200 may be a primary battery or a secondary battery. The battery 200 may also include not only a chemical battery but also a power supply element such as an electric double layer capacitor.

[0108] Even if the battery 200 is a coin battery that cannot be surface-mounted on a mounting board by itself, it can be surface-mounted on a mounting board by the battery package 100 (100A, etc.). For example, even if the battery material of the battery 200 is a sulfide-based battery material, by using an already sealed coin battery, it can be easily sealed and made into a surface-mounted battery 200 even if it is not in a special working environment such as a dry atmosphere. In addition, even if it is not in a special working environment such as a dry atmosphere, the battery (coin battery) 200 can be surface-mounted on a mounting board, and the productivity of the circuit board device can be improved. Furthermore, the battery (coin battery) 200 can be hermetically sealed at a higher level than a general coin battery by the battery package 100 (100A, etc.), and the life of the battery (coin battery) 200 can be improved. Since the battery material of the battery 200 is double-sealed by the metal container and the battery package 100 (100A, etc.), the leakage of sulfide material from the battery (coin battery) 200 can be significantly reduced.

[0109] As shown in FIG. 11, the battery module 500 may use a thin-film all-solid-state battery as the battery 200. The thin-film all-solid-state battery is a battery 200 in which an anode layer 220, an electrolyte layer 230, and a cathode layer 240 are laminated on a metal plate 210, and the metal plate 210 functions as a current collector. The metal plate 210 is, for example, a plate of copper, aluminum, stainless steel, or the like, and the thickness of the metal plate 210 is, for example, 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm. The gold anode layer 220, the electrolyte layer 230, and the cathode layer 240 are formed by, for example, a vapor deposition method or a sputtering method. The thin-film all-solid-state battery 200 may include a resin cover 250 that covers the end face of the anode layer 220, the end face of the electrolyte layer 230, and the end face of the cathode layer 240, and the resin cover 250 is made of insulating resin.

[0110] 11, the metal plate 210 corresponds to the lower electrode 201, and the positive electrode layer 240 corresponds to the upper electrode 202. The negative electrode layer 220, the electrolyte layer 230, and the positive electrode layer 240 are stacked in this order from the lower metal plate 210, but the negative electrode layer 220 and the positive electrode layer 240 may be stacked in reverse. In this case, the negative electrode layer 220 corresponds to the upper electrode 202.

[0111] The position of the end face of the negative electrode layer 220, the position of the end face of the electrolyte layer 230, and the position of the end face of the positive electrode layer 240 may be shifted. For example, the negative electrode layer 220, the electrolyte layer 230, and the positive electrode layer 240 may be stacked in this order in a smaller or larger size. The electrolyte layer 230 may be made larger than the positive electrode layer 240 and the negative electrode layer 220. In this case, a short circuit between the positive electrode layer 240 and the negative electrode layer 220 in the side direction can be prevented.

[0112] Another metal plate 210 may be interposed between the positive electrode layer 240 and the conductive sheet 140 (conductive bonding material 150). In this case, the conductive bonding material 150 may be interposed between the another metal plate 210 and the positive electrode layer 240. In this case, the metal plate 210 on the positive electrode layer 240 (between the positive electrode layer 240 and the conductive sheet 140) corresponds to the upper electrode 202. The conductive bonding material 150 may be interposed between the metal plate 210 corresponding to the upper electrode 202 and the conductive sheet 140.

[0113] One ends of the plurality of positive electrode layers 240 may be connected to each other, and the other ends of the plurality of negative electrode layers 220 may be connected to each other. In this case, the plurality of positive electrode layers 240 and the plurality of negative electrode layers 200 have a comb-like shape in a vertical cross section. The plurality of positive electrode layers 240 and the plurality of negative electrode layers 220 are arranged so that two comb teeth are interdigitated with each other, and the electrolyte layer 230 is arranged between each positive electrode layer 240 and each negative electrode layer 220.

[0114] Also, as shown in FIG. 12, the battery module 500 may use a plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries as the batteries 200. A plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries 200 may be mounted in series in the recess 113 of the battery package 100. A conductive bonding material 150 may be interposed between the plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries 200. The end of the electrolyte layer 230 may cover the end of the negative electrode layer 220. A plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries 200 are efficiently manufactured by forming a thin-film battery on a large metal plate and cutting it into individual pieces of a predetermined size. The plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries 200 may be connected by contact without using a bonding material. The contact resistance between the plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries 200 can be reduced by pressing the plurality of thin-film type all-solid-state batteries 200 with the conductive sheet 140, the convex portion 161 of the lid 160, or the spacer 170.

[0115] Generally, thin-film all-solid-state batteries have high energy density, high safety, and excellent recycle life, but it is difficult to form a thin-film all-solid-state battery in the recess 113 of the battery package 100, and it is also difficult to handle an all-solid-state battery composed only of a thin film. Therefore, the productivity (production efficiency) of the battery module 500 having a thin-film all-solid-state battery decreases.

[0116] In contrast, as described above, by using the thin-film all-solid-state battery 200 having the metal plate 210 as the battery 200 in the battery module 500, mass production of the battery 200 becomes possible, improving the productivity of the battery module 500. Specifically, after forming the negative electrode layer 220, the electrolyte layer 230, and the positive electrode layer 240 on the metal plate 210, the battery 200 is cut out to a size matching the recess 113 of the insulating substrate 110 by dicing or the like, and is placed in the recess 113 of the insulating substrate 110, improving the productivity of the battery module 500.

[0117] In addition, by using the thin-film all-solid-state battery 200 having the metal plate 210 as the battery 200 in the battery module 500, the adhesion between the metal plate 210 and the anode layer 220, the adhesion between the anode layer 220 and the electrolyte layer 230, and the adhesion between the cathode layer 240 and the electrolyte layer 230 are increased. Therefore, the power extraction efficiency of the battery 200 is increased.

[0118] In the battery module 500 (500I) of the example shown in Figs. 27 and 28, the insulating member 300 disposed between the outer surface of the battery 200 and the inner surface of the recess 113 may be made of a resin material such as an epoxy resin or a silicone resin. The insulating member 300 may be made of a composite material of ceramic particles and a resin material. The insulating member 300 may be made by solidifying a liquid resin injected into the gap between the battery 200 and the inner surface of the recess 113. A solid insulating member 300 may be inserted and disposed in the gap between the battery 200 and the inner surface of the recess 113. In the battery module 500 (500I) of the example shown in Fig. 13, four insulating members 300 are disposed at intervals in the circumferential direction on each side of the gap having a rectangular frame shape in a plan view, but the arrangement is not limited to this. When the recess 113 and the battery 200 have a circular shape in plan view, three insulating members 300 are arranged at intervals in the circumferential direction to prevent the battery 200 from shifting in position relative to the insulating substrate 110. Alternatively, the insulating members 300 may be arranged around the entire outer periphery of the battery 200.
