Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to an antifoaming agent for use in a cleaning agent for a medical instrument washer. [Background technology]
[0002] Automatic cleaning machines have also been introduced for cleaning medical instruments. Various cleaning agents are known for use in such medical instrument cleaning machines (see, for example, Patent Document 1). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] Patent No. 5407001 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] Generally, the higher the cleaning temperature, the higher the cleaning power. However, since the stains adhering to medical instruments are protein stains such as blood, if the cleaning temperature is high (e.g., 80°C or higher), the proteins will denature and the stains will become difficult to remove. Therefore, Patent Document 1 above proposes a detergent composition that has little foaming even at low temperatures (5°C) and has excellent cleaning power. However, cleaning at low temperatures may result in insufficient cleaning power. In light of these circumstances, we investigated detergents suitable for cleaning with water heated to a temperature lower than the denaturation temperature of proteins (for example, 50°C), but found that conventional detergents had a problem of foaming. It is believed that one of the causes of foaming is blood stains. An object of the present invention is to provide a defoaming agent for use in a detergent for a medical instrument washer, which is capable of suppressing the generation of foam even when heated washing water is used. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] The present inventors have conducted extensive research to solve the above problems and have arrived at the present invention. That is, the present invention is as follows.
