Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a technique for generating guidance for a user based on the user's level of understanding, etc. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, users are made to operate information processing terminals (hereinafter simply referred to as terminals) to study or take tests. For example, there is a type of test called CBT (Computer Based Testing) that evaluates a user's knowledge or academic ability (level of understanding) based on the grading results of a test that the user takes by operating a terminal. In CBT, test questions are displayed on the display screen of a terminal operated by a user who is an examinee. The user answers the test questions displayed on the display screen of the terminal (entering the answer in the answer field for the question). The user's level of understanding is estimated based on the grading results of the user's answers. Terminals used in CBT include commonly used personal computers, tablet terminals, etc.
[0003] It has also been proposed to estimate the user's level of understanding not only from the results of scoring the answers, but also from the time it takes to answer the questions, the order in which the answers are given, etc. (see Patent Document 1). The device in Patent Document 1 counts the number of stumbling blocks when answering a question based on changes in the answer input speed (number of strokes per unit time), and uses the counted number of stumbling blocks to estimate the user's level of understanding. [0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2019-152782 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] However, in the conventional technology, it is not possible to provide learning guidance to a user that takes into account the user's behavior during the test. (1) Whether or not you take the time to understand all the questions at the start of the exam (2) Whether or not they took any action to review their answers (3) Whether or not students took any action to revise their answers when reviewing their answers; It is.
[0006] The user's personality, etc. is reflected in the user's behavior during the test. Therefore, study guidance that takes into account the user's behavior during the test will be suited to the user's personality, etc.
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of providing learning guidance suited to a user's personality, etc., and improving the user's learning efficiency. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] In order to achieve the above object, the learning support device of the present invention is configured as follows.
[0009] This learning support device is applied to a system in which a user operates a terminal and takes an exam having a plurality of questions.
[0010] The transition acquisition unit acquires the transition of the user's answer status to the exam questions based on the operation history information indicating the history of the input operation performed on the terminal when the user takes the exam. For example, the operation history information includes a question selection operation for switching the exam question on which the focus is placed, and a character input operation for inputting a character string into the answer column of the exam question on which the focus is placed. The transition acquisition unit acquires, as the transition of the user's answer status to the exam questions, for example, for each exam question, whether or not the user has reviewed the answer, whether or not the answer has been corrected when reviewed, and whether or not a confirmation procedure has been performed to understand the contents of all the exam questions before starting to answer the exam questions. In other words, the transition of the user's answer status to the exam questions acquired by the transition acquisition unit is the user's behavior during the exam.
[0011] In addition, the understanding level estimation unit estimates the user's understanding level for each question in the test using the scoring results of scoring the user's answers.
[0012] Furthermore, the guidance generation unit generates guidance regarding study guidance for the user based on the transition of the user's answering status acquired by the transition acquisition unit and the level of understanding of each question in the test estimated by the understanding level estimation unit.
[0013] According to this configuration, the user's behavior during the test is acquired from the transition of the user's answering status to the test questions. In addition, the user's personality, etc. are reflected in the user's behavior during the test. In other words, the study guidance that takes into account the user's behavior during the test will be suited to the user's personality, etc. Therefore, study guidance that is suited to the user's personality, etc. can be provided, and the user's learning efficiency can be improved.
[0014] Furthermore, for example, for questions where the user has reviewed and corrected their answers during the review, the guidance generating unit may generate guidance regarding study guidance for the user by using the results of scoring the answer before correction. In this configuration, it is possible to determine the types of mistakes that the user is likely to make when answering questions (calculation errors, misreading the question, writing errors in the answer, etc.). This allows the user to receive study guidance regarding mistakes that are likely to be made when answering questions.
[0015] Furthermore, the understanding level estimation unit may estimate the user's understanding of the test questions using the order in which the user answers the test questions and the time it takes to answer the test questions. With this configuration, it is possible to determine the level of understanding of questions in areas that the user feels weak in. Also, it is possible to provide the user with study guidance on questions in areas that the user feels weak in. Effect of the Invention
[0016] According to the present invention, learning guidance suited to the user's personality, etc. can be provided, thereby improving the user's learning efficiency. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0018] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0019] <1. Application Examples> Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a network system for carrying out a test by a Computer Based Testing (CBT) method. As shown in Fig. 1, the network system of this example is configured such that a plurality of user terminals 2 are connected to a server device 1 via a network 5 so as to be able to communicate data with each other. This example is an example in which a learning support device according to the present invention is applied to the server device 1.
[0020] As described in a modified example below, the learning support device according to the present invention can also be applied to a user terminal 2 instead of the server device 1.
[0021] In this example, the server device 1 distributes a test with a plurality of questions to the user terminal 2. For example, the test has five questions, with question 1 being a question about polynomials, question 2 being a question about simultaneous equations, question 3 being a question about geometry, question 4 being a question about trigonometric functions, and question 5 being a question about probability.
[0022] The user terminal 2 displays the test questions distributed from the server device 1 on the screen of the display. FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 are diagrams showing examples of the screen of the display of the user terminal on which the test questions are displayed. The currently selected question is displayed on the screen of the display of the user terminal 2. When question 1 is selected on the user terminal 2, question 1 is displayed on the screen of the display of the user terminal 2 as shown in FIG. 2. When question 2 is selected on the user terminal 2, question 2 is displayed on the screen of the display of the user terminal 2 as shown in FIG. 3. Although not shown in particular, when question 3 is selected on the user terminal 2, question 3 is displayed on the screen of the display of the user terminal 2, when question 4 is selected on the user terminal 2, question 4 is displayed on the screen of the display of the user terminal 2, and when question 5 is selected on the user terminal 2, question 5 is displayed on the screen of the display of the user terminal 2.
[0023] The user terminal 2 switches the question (selected question) to be displayed on the display screen in response to an operation on the selection buttons (five buttons, Question 1 to Question 5, shown in Figs. 2 and 3) displayed on the display screen. In other words, the user can display a desired question (Question 1 to Question 5) on the display screen of the user terminal 2 by operating the selection buttons. In this example, the question displayed on the display screen by the user terminal 2 corresponds to the focused question as referred to in this invention.
[0024] The user terminal 2 makes the display form of the selection button for the currently selected question different from the display form of the selection buttons for other questions (questions not currently selected) (Figures 2 and 3 are examples in which the selection buttons are displayed inverted).
[0025] It should be noted that the above-described selection operation of test questions and the display form on the user terminal 2 are merely examples.
[0026] The user terminal 2 generates a history of the user's input operations during the test time (the period from the start to the end of the test) as operation history information. The operation history information is an accumulation of input operation information during the test time. The input operation information includes an operation code indicating the content of the input operation performed by the user, and time information (timestamp) indicating the time when this input operation was performed. The user's input operations include, for example, the operation of a selection button to select a question, a character input operation (character key operation) into an answer field, and an operation to delete characters entered in the answer field (delete key operation).
[0027] When the test is over, the user terminal 2 transmits to the server device 1 the answers to each question (the character strings entered in the answer column for each question at the end of the test) and the operation history information generated during the test.
[0028] The server device 1 grades the user's answers for each test question. The server device 1 also acquires the transition of the user's answer status for each test question based on the operation history information.
[0029] The server device 1 may record, as a transition of the user's answering status, for example, (1) Order of answers to exam questions (2) Time to answer each question (3) Whether or not you take the initiative to understand all the questions at the start of the test (4) For each question, whether or not you reviewed your answer (whether or not you reviewed your answer) (5) For each question, whether or not you revised your answer during review (whether or not you revised your answer) etc.
[0030] The above (1) can be used to estimate the field of the problem that the user feels weak in. For example, the server device 1 acquires the order of answers to the problem in the order of the earliest time when the nth character (n is a positive integer and a predetermined value (n is, for example, 1 to 5)) was entered into the corresponding answer column.
[0031] The above (2) can be used to estimate the user's understanding of the questions. For each question, the server device 1 acquires, for example, the total time during which the question was selected (the time during which the focus was on the question) as the answer time for the question.
[0032] The above (3) to (5) can be used to judge the user's behavior during the test. Regarding the above (3), for example, if all questions are selected by the selection button before character strings are input into the answer columns of all questions, the server device 1 judges that the user has taken an action to understand the contents of all questions in the test before starting to answer the questions. Regarding the above (4), for example, if the number of characters of the character string input into the answer column of the question when the question is selected exceeds a predetermined number, the server device 1 judges that the question selected this time is a question for which the answer has been revised. Furthermore, regarding the above (5), for example, if the number of characters of the character string input into the answer column of the question when the question is selected exceeds a predetermined number and an input operation is performed to delete some characters of the inputted character string, the server device 1 judges that the question is a question for which the answer has been revised when the answer has been revised.
[0033] The server device 1 may acquire other items as the transition of the user's answering status, not limited to the above items (1) to (5). The server device 1 may be configured not to acquire some of the above items (1) to (5) as the transition of the user's answering status.
[0034] The server device 1 scores the answer for each question and estimates the user's level of understanding using the scoring result of the question. The scoring of the answer may be performed, for example, by a point deduction method or a point addition method, or may be performed by other methods, or may be a scoring method using AI (Artificial Intelligence).
[0035] Furthermore, the server device 1 generates guidance for the user regarding study guidance based on the transition of the user's answering status and the level of understanding of each question. The server device 1 acquires the user's behavior during the test from the transition of the user's answering status. The user's personality, etc. are reflected in the user's behavior during the test. In other words, study guidance that takes into account the user's behavior during the test will be suited to the user's personality, etc. Therefore, study guidance that suits the user's personality, etc. can be provided, and the user's study efficiency can be improved.
[0036] Therefore, learning guidance suited to the user's personality, etc. can be provided, and the user's learning efficiency can be improved.
[0037] The server device 1 may transmit the generated instruction guide for the user to the user terminal 2 or may print it out. The server device 1 may have any configuration as long as it outputs the generated instruction guide for the user in a form that can be used for instruction to the user. For example, the generated instruction guide for the user may be output to an instructor (teacher, etc.) who provides instruction to the user, rather than to the user himself / herself.
[0038] <2. Configuration example> 4 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the main part of the server device of this example. The server device 1 includes a control unit 11, a question database 12 (question DB 12), and a communication unit 13.
[0039] The control unit 11 controls each part of the main body of the server device 1. The control unit 11 also has a scoring unit 11a, an understanding level estimation unit 11b, a transition acquisition unit 11c, and a guidance generation unit 11d. The scoring unit 11a, the understanding level estimation unit 11b, the transition acquisition unit 11c, and the guidance generation unit 11d of the control unit 11 will be described later.
[0040] The question DB 12 is a database that registers test questions to be distributed to the user terminal 2 operated by the user. In this example, the question DB 12 also registers, for each test question, the correct answer (model answer) and the standard answer time in association with each question.
[0041] The communication unit 13 performs data communication with the user terminal 2 operated by the user via the network 5. The server device 1 distributes a test having a plurality of questions to the user terminal 2. The server device 1 also receives the answers to each question in the test from the user terminal 2. The server device 1 also receives operation history information from the user terminal 2 indicating a history of input operations performed by the user on the user terminal 2 when taking the test. The operation history information is an accumulation of input operation information during the test. The input operation information includes an operation code indicating the content of the input operation performed by the user, and time information (timestamp) indicating the time when this input operation was performed.
[0042] Next, the scoring section 11a, the understanding level estimation section 11b, the transition acquisition section 11c, and the guidance generation section 11d included in the control unit 11 will be described.
[0043] The marking unit 11a marks the user's answer for each question in the test. The marking unit 11a may mark the user's answer by a point subtraction method, a point addition method, or other methods.
[0044] The understanding level estimation unit 11b estimates the user's understanding level for each question based on the marking result of the question. The understanding level estimation unit 11b may also be configured to estimate the user's understanding level for each question using the marking result of the question, the user's answer time, and the standard answer time.
[0045] The transition acquisition unit 11c acquires the transition of the user's answering status in the test based on the operation history information received from the user terminal 2. The transition acquisition unit 11c acquires, for example, the transition of the user's answering status, (1) Order of answers to exam questions (2) Time to answer each question (3) Whether or not you take the initiative to understand all the questions at the start of the exam (4) For each question, whether or not you reviewed your answer (whether or not you reviewed your answer) (5) For each question, whether or not you revised your answer during review (whether or not you revised your answer) etc.
[0046] The guidance generating unit 11d generates guidance regarding study guidance for the user based on the transition of the user's answering status and the level of understanding of each question.
[0047] The control unit 11 of the server device 1 is composed of a hardware CPU, a memory, and other electronic circuits. When the hardware CPU executes the evaluation program according to the present invention, it operates as a scoring unit 11a, an understanding degree estimation unit 11b, a transition acquisition unit 11c, and a guidance generation unit 11d. The memory has an area for expanding the evaluation program according to the present invention and an area for temporarily storing data generated during the execution of the evaluation program. The control unit 11 may be an LSI that integrates the hardware CPU, memory, and the like. The hardware CPU is a computer that executes the evaluation method according to the present invention.
[0048] 5 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the main parts of the user terminal of this example. The user terminal 2 includes a control unit 21, a display 22, an operation unit 23, and a communication unit 24.
[0049] The control unit 21 controls the operation of each part of the main body of the user terminal 2. The control unit 21 also has an answer acquisition unit 21a and an operation history information generation unit 21b. The answer acquisition unit 21a and the operation history information generation unit 21b of the control unit 21 will be described later.
[0050] The display 22 displays test questions distributed from the server device 1, and displays answers to questions input by the user.
[0051] The operation unit 23 detects an input operation by the user. The operation unit 23 may be configured to accept character input via a hardware keyboard or a software keyboard. The operation unit 23 also has a pointing device such as a mouse, and accepts an operation to select a question to be displayed on the display 22 (an operation to press a selection button).
[0052] The communication unit 24 performs data communication with the server device 1 via the network 5 .
[0053] Next, the answer acquiring section 21a and the operation history information generating section 21b included in the control unit 21 will be described.
[0054] At the end of the test, the answer acquiring unit 21a acquires the character string entered in the answer column of a question as the user's answer to that question.
[0055] The operation history information generating unit 21b generates operation history information that accumulates operation information of input operations performed by the user on the operation unit 23. The operation information includes an operation code that identifies the user's input operation and the operation time when the user performed the input operation. The input operations performed by the user include an operation of inputting characters into an answer field for a question, an operation of deleting characters input into an answer field, an operation of selecting a question to be displayed on the display 22, and the like.
[0056] The control unit 21 of the user terminal 2 is composed of a hardware CPU, a memory, and other electronic circuits. The hardware CPU operates as an answer acquisition unit 21a and an operation history information generation unit 21b. The control unit 21 may be an LSI that integrates the hardware CPU, memory, and the like.
[0057] <3. Example of operation> Fig. 6 is a flow chart showing the operation of the user terminal in this example, and Fig. 7 is a flow chart showing the operation of the server device in this example.
[0058] In this example, the server device 1 distributes exam questions to the user terminal 2 before the start of the exam.
[0059] When the test start time arrives, the user terminal 2 displays an initial screen on the screen of the display 22 (s21, s22). The initial screen may be, for example, a screen that displays question 1, or a screen that displays only selection buttons for selecting a question.
[0060] If the user operates the operation unit 23 with a character key or the delete key, the user terminal 2 edits the character string in the answer column according to the operated character key (s23, s24). If the user operates the operation unit 23 with a question selection operation (pressing the selection button), the user terminal 2 displays the currently selected question on the screen of the display 22 (s25, s26).
[0061] When the user terminal 2 performs the process of s24 or s26, it adds operation information including an operation code indicating the content of the current input operation by the user and the time when this input operation was performed to the operation history information (s27). The user terminal 2 stores the operation history information in a memory possessed by the control unit 21. In addition, the user terminal 2 stores, for each question in the test, the character string entered in the answer column of that question in a memory possessed by the control unit 21.
[0062] The user terminal 2 repeats the above-mentioned processes from s23 to s27 until the end of the test. When the end of the test arrives (s28), the user terminal 2 transmits the answers to each question stored in the memory and the operation history information to the server device 1 (s29), and ends this process.
[0063] Next, the operation of the server device 1 will be described with reference to Fig. 7. The server device 1 waits to receive answers to test questions and operation history information during the test from the user terminal 2 (s1). The transition acquisition unit 11c acquires the transition of the user's answer status during the test based on the operation history information during the test received from the user terminal 2 (s2).
[0064] In s2, for example, (1) Order of answers to exam questions (2) Time to answer each question (3) Whether or not you take the initiative to understand all the questions at the start of the test (4) For each question, whether or not you reviewed your answer (whether or not you reviewed your answer) (5) For each question, whether or not you revised your answer during review (whether or not you revised your answer) The above information is obtained as a transition of the user's answering status during the test.
[0065] The marking unit 11a marks the user's answer for each test question (s3). The understanding level estimation unit 11b estimates the user's understanding for each test question using the marking result by the marking unit 11a, the user's answer time, and the standard answer time for that question (s4).
[0066] The understanding level estimation unit 11b may estimate the user's understanding level for each question in the test without using the time taken by the user to answer the question (only based on the marking result of the marking unit 11a).
[0067] The guidance generating unit 11d generates a guide for study guidance for the user based on the transition of the user's answering state acquired in s2 and the level of understanding of each question estimated in s4 (s5).
[0068] In s5, for example, based on the transition of the user's answering status acquired in s2, the area of questions that the user feels weak in is estimated. The area of questions that the user feels weak in can be determined from the answering order of the test questions and the difference in time between the user's answering time and the standard answering time. If the answering order of the test questions is late and the time (difference in time) obtained by subtracting the standard answering time from the user's answering time is relatively long (for example, if it is longer than a predetermined time for judging weakness), it can be estimated that the question is in an area that the user feels weak in.
[0069] In addition, in s5, the above items (3) to (5) are acquired as the user's behavior during the test.
[0070] The guidance generating unit 11d generates guidance for study guidance for the user based on the user's behavior during the test, the user's level of understanding of each question, and the areas of questions that the user finds difficult. The user's personality, etc. are reflected in the user's behavior during the test. In other words, study guidance that takes into account the user's behavior during the test will be suited to the user's personality, etc. Therefore, in this example, study guidance that suits the user's personality, etc. can be provided, and the user's study efficiency can be improved.
[0071] The processes in steps s2 to s5 may be performed as a batch process.
[0072] <4. Modifications> Variation 1 The server device 1 may be configured to compare the answer before and after correction for questions in which the user has revised the answer when reviewing the answer, and to determine what kind of correction the user made. The answer before correction can be acquired from the operation history information.
[0073] For example, when the server device 1 determines that the correction of the answer made by the user is due to a calculation error, a clerical error, or the like, it may generate guidance that encourages the user to stay calm when answering the question. Also, when the server device 1 estimates that the level of understanding of the corrected answer is higher than that of the answer before the correction, it may generate guidance that encourages the user to stay calm when answering the question. Also, when the server device 1 estimates that the level of understanding of the corrected answer is lower than that of the answer before the correction, it may generate guidance that encourages the user to have confidence in their answer.
[0074] In addition, the server device 1 may generate guidance for a user who has not taken the action of first understanding the contents of all questions being asked at the start of the exam and who has not selected any questions during the exam period, encouraging the user to start answering questions in areas of their strength (for example, guidance encouraging the user to first understand the contents of all questions being asked at the start of the exam).
[0075] In addition, the server device 1 may generate guidance for users who have not reviewed their answers to each question and whose answers contain calculation errors, clerical errors, etc., encouraging them to review their answers during the test.
[0076] In this way, the server device 1 generates a guide for study guidance for the user using the user's behavior during the test.
[0077] Variation 2 The scoring unit 11a, understanding level estimation unit 11b, transition acquisition unit 11c, and guidance generation unit 11d described in the above example may be provided in the control unit 21 of the user terminal 2, and the processing relating to s2 to s5 may be executed in the user terminal 2.
[0078] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment as it is, and the components can be modified and embodied in the implementation stage without departing from the gist of the invention. In addition, various inventions can be formed by appropriately combining the multiple components disclosed in the above-described embodiment. For example, some components may be deleted from all the components shown in the embodiment. Furthermore, components across different embodiments may be appropriately combined. In addition, the order of each step in the flowcharts shown in the explanation of all the above examples is merely an example, and may be appropriately changed within the possible range.
