The axles 13, 23 are provided with a plurality of grooves 13a, 23a extending in the axial direction. More specifically, the axles 13, 23 are provided with four grooves 13a, 23a. Focusing on the axle 13 of the front wheel 10 shown in Fig. 4, the four grooves 13a1, 13a2, 13a3, 13a4 are provided in parallel with two of the grooves 13a1, 13a2 and the grooves 13a3, 13a4, and the two grooves 13a1, 13a2 and the two grooves 13a3, 13a4 are arranged opposite each other. In other words, the grooves 13a1 and 13a3 are arranged opposite to each other, and the grooves 13a2 and 13a4 are arranged opposite to each other. The four grooves 23a of the axle 23 of the rear wheel 20 are arranged in the same manner as the grooves 13a of the axle 13 of the front wheel 10.
[0013] The axles 13, 23 are provided with a plurality of annular ribs 13b, 23b, respectively. Focusing on the axle 13 of the front wheel 10, the axle 13 is provided with five annular ribs 13b1, 13b2, 13b3, 13b4, 13b5. The annular rib 13b1 is provided in the center. Two annular ribs 13b2, 13b3 and 13b4, 13b5 are provided near the left and right ends of the axle 13, respectively. Of the two annular ribs 13b2, 13b3 and 13b4, 13b5, the annular ribs 13b2, 13b4 are provided on the inner side of the front wheel bearing portion 40 described later. The annular ribs 13b3, 13b5 located closer to the left wheel 11 and right wheel 12 than the annular ribs 13b2, 13b4 are provided to correspond to the wheel bearing portion 40 and to be fitted in the wheel bearing portion 40.
[0014] The rear axle 23 is also provided with five annular ribs 23b arranged in the same manner as the annular ribs of the front axle 13. The annular ribs 23b on both ends of the axle 23 are provided to correspond to the rear wheel bearing portion 50 described below and to be fitted into the wheel bearing portion 50.
[0015] As shown in FIG. 5, the front wheel bearings 40 are provided on the left and right as a pair, and are formed integrally with the body 2. The wheel bearings 40 have a bottom surface 41a, which is the lower surface of a rectangular box-shaped base 41 provided on the body 2, and side surfaces 42a1, 42b1, which are the inner surfaces facing each other of two tongue-shaped side plates 42a, 42b that stand downward from the base 41 and are provided opposite each other. The bottom surface 41a and the side surfaces 42a1, 42b1 are continuous by a concave curved surface, and the side surfaces 42a1, 42b1 are formed approximately perpendicular to the bottom surface 41a. The wheel bearings 40 are formed by the bottom surface 41a and the side surfaces 42a1, 42b1 in an approximately rectangular shape with one lower side open, when viewed from the axial direction of the axle 13.
[0016] The side plates 42a, 42b are provided with protrusions 42a2, 42b2 at their tips. The protrusions 42a2, 42b2 are provided across the width direction of the side plates 42a, 42b. The protrusion 42a2 protrudes toward the side plate 42b, and the protrusion 42b2 protrudes toward the side plate 42a.
[0017] On the other hand, the pair of wheel bearings 50 provided on the left and right sides on the rear side are also formed integrally with the body 2, and have a bottom surface 51a and side surfaces 52a1 and 52b1. The bottom surface 51a and the side surfaces 52a1 and 52b1 are connected to each other by a concave curved surface, and the side surfaces 52a1 and 52b1 are formed substantially perpendicular to the bottom surface 51a. The front side surface 52a1 is formed as the inner surface of a plate portion 52a bent at a right angle from a plate-shaped frame 2a whose plate surface faces the left and right directions on the lower side of the body 2. The rear side surface 52b1 is formed as the inner surface of a tongue-shaped side plate 52b. The bottom surface 51a is a part of the lower surface of the body 2. A protrusion 52a2 protruding toward the side plate 52b is provided at the tip of the plate portion 52a, and a protrusion 52b2 protruding toward the plate portion 52a is provided at the tip of the side plate 52b. The protrusions 52a2, 52b2 are provided across the width of the plate portion 52a and the side plate 52b.
[0018] The wheel bearing parts 40, 50 are formed by the bottom surface 51a and the side surfaces 52a1, 52b1 into a generally rectangular shape with one side open on the lower side when viewed in the axial direction of the axles 13, 23. The axles 13, 23 are rotatably held in the wheel bearing parts 40, 50. The axles 13, 23 are restricted from moving in the removal direction (downward) by the protrusions 42a2, 42b2, 52a2, 52b2, but when the axles 13, 23 are attached or detached, the tongue-shaped side plates 42a, 42b, 52b bend and resiliently spring back.
[0019] When the axles 13, 23 are received and held by the wheel bearings 40, 50, the contact area between the surfaces of the axles 13, 23 and the roughly rectangular wheel bearings 40, 50 is small, reducing the generation of high-pitched abnormal noise caused by rubbing of the surfaces of the axles 13, 23. The provision of the grooves 13a, 23a further reduces the contact area with the wheel bearings 40, 50, further reducing the generation of high-pitched abnormal noise.
[0020] In addition, annular ribs 13b3, 13b5 of the axle 13 and annular ribs 23b on both ends of the axle 23 are arranged in correspondence with the wheel bearing portions 40, 50, and the annular ribs 13b, 23b essentially come into contact with the bottom surfaces 41a, 51a and side surfaces 42a1, 42b1, 52a1, 52b1 of the wheel bearing portions 40, 50, thereby further reducing the contact area.
[0021] According to the embodiment of the present invention as described above, a traveling toy having the following features can be provided.
[0022] The running toy according to a first aspect has an axle and a wheel bearing portion that receives the axle, and the wheel bearing portion is formed in a substantially rectangular shape with one side open when viewed in the axial direction.
[0023] With this configuration, the area of contact between the axle and the wheel bearing portion is reduced, thereby reducing the generation of high-pitched abnormal noise caused by the surface of the axle rubbing against the wheel bearing portion when the running toy is running.
[0024] In a second aspect of the running toy, the wheel bearing portion has a bottom surface and two side surfaces that are substantially perpendicular to the bottom surface and opposite each other, and at least one of the side surfaces is provided on the inside of a tongue-shaped side panel.
[0025] According to this configuration, the tongue-shaped side plate can be bent to allow the axle to be freely attached to and detached from the wheel bearing portion.
[0026] In a running toy according to a third aspect, the axle is provided with a plurality of grooves provided in the axial direction, and an annular rib provided corresponding to the wheel bearing portion.
[0027] According to this configuration, the multiple grooves reduce the likelihood of fingers or other foreign objects becoming caught in the axle, while allowing the annular rib to come into contact with the wheel bearing portion.
[0028] Although the embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications are possible without departing from the gist of the present invention. [Explanation of symbols]
