Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This invention relates to the structure of a packaging material, and more specifically, to a packaging material that forms a pillow-shaped packaging box in which an accommodation chamber is partitioned inside by being subjected to bending processing.
Background Art
[0002] Generally, the value of a product is enhanced by being packaged with a packaging material. Therefore, conventionally, packaging materials for stylishly packaging products, typically packaging materials that form a pillow-shaped packaging box, have been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0003] By the way, for example, when a pillow-shaped packaging box is used for direct mail, it is important that the packaging box containing promotional items or novelties is surely opened by a third party who gets hold of it.

Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0005] However, although conventional pillow-shaped packaging boxes have been devised to enhance the attractiveness of packaging, they have not been devised to encourage opening. Therefore, there is a problem that it is difficult to improve the advertising effect by direct mail.
[0006] This invention has been made under such circumstances, and its object is to provide a packaging material that forms a pillow-shaped packaging box that strongly encourages a third party to open it.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0007] (1) The packaging material constituting the pillow-type packaging box according to the present invention includes a rectangular flat base having vertical edges and horizontal edges, a first fold formed along a second edge, which is one of the vertical and horizontal edges, at the center of a first edge, which is one of the vertical and horizontal edges, a flap extending symmetrically on both sides of the first fold along the first edge and having a bulging edge bulging outward, a second fold formed to have a symmetrical shape with the bulging edge with respect to the first edge, and a peel sheet detachably provided on the base and covering a predetermined area of the base.
[0008] According to this configuration, when the base is bent along the first fold, the first edge of the base is folded back at the center to face each other, and the second edges of the base face each other. These second edges are fixed by known means, whereby the base is formed into a cylindrical shape. Since flaps are provided on the opposing first edges respectively, when these are bent at the second fold and folded back inside the cylindrical base, each flap bulges the base outward to form a pillow shape and constitutes a lid that closes both ends of the base. That is, a pillow-type packaging box having an accommodation chamber formed inside is configured. When the flap is folded back at the second fold, the accommodation chamber is opened and closed. A covering sheet is provided on this base. Thereby, a predetermined area of this base is covered. Required information can be displayed on this predetermined area by printing or the like. The covering sheet is detachable from the base, and when peeled off, the display is exposed.
[0009] (2) The flaps may be provided symmetrically on the opposing first edges. In this case, it is preferable that an engaging portion is provided on the bulging edge of one flap, and an engaged portion is provided on the other flap to which the engaging portion detachably engages.
[0010] In this configuration, the lid has a double structure with a pair of flaps. When the engaging portion provided on one flap engages with the engaged portion of the other flap, the lid is surely closed. Since this engaging portion disengages from the engaged portion, the lid is easily opened.
[0011] (3) Preferably, the engaging portion is an engaging claw protruding from the bulging edge of the one flap, and the engaged portion is a slit provided on the bulging edge of the other flap into which the engaging claw is inserted.
[0012] In this configuration, when the flap is inserted into the slit, the lid can be easily and surely closed.
[0013] (4) An adhesive margin for being attached along the second edge may be extended on the first edge of the base portion.
[0014] In this configuration, the second edges of the base portion are easily fixed to each other via the adhesive margin. Therefore, the assembly of the pillow-type packaging box becomes easy.
Advantages of the Invention
[0015] According to this invention, when a packaging box assembled from a packaging material is used for a direct mail, a covering sheet is provided on the packaging material. On this covering sheet, the name of the addressee, information about the contents, and a display prompting the peeling of the covering sheet are made. A third party who receives this direct mail is psychologically driven to peel the covering sheet because the covering sheet is provided and there is a display prompting the peeling of this covering sheet. Further, when this covering sheet is peeled off, information about the contents is displayed, so the possibility that the third party will open this direct mail becomes high.

Modes for Carrying Out the Invention
[0017] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with appropriate reference to the drawings. It should be noted that this embodiment is merely one aspect of the packaging material according to the present invention, and it goes without saying that the embodiment may be changed within the scope that does not change the gist of the present invention.
[0018] FIG. 1 is a front view of a packaging material 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIGS. 2 and 3 are external perspective views of a state in which this packaging material 10 is bent in the manner described later and assembled into a packaging box 11. FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the front side of the packaging box 11, and FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the back side.
[0019] 1. Structure of the packaging material
[0020] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, this packaging material 10 has a main body sheet 12 and a covering sheet 13. In order to explain the structure of the main body sheet 12 in detail, FIG. 1 omits the illustration of the covering sheet 13. The packaging box 11 is constituted by assembling the main body sheet 12 and the covering sheet 13 in the manner described later. The packaging box 11 has a three-dimensional shape, and an accommodation chamber is partitioned inside. This accommodation chamber is openable and closable as described later.
[0021] The packaging material 10 is typically used for direct mail. Therefore, in this embodiment, the size of the main body sheet 12 is set so that the packaging box 11 in the assembled state becomes a standard postal size. However, the size of the main body sheet 12 is not particularly limited.
[0022] The feature of the packaging material 10 according to this embodiment is that the covering sheet 13 is detachably provided on the main body sheet 12. Thereby, a third party who has received the packaging box 11 as direct mail can be strongly urged to open the packaging box 11.
[0023] As shown in FIG. 1, the main body sheet 12 is made of so-called paper or resin. Specifically, various materials such as cardboard, special paper, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), etc. can be adopted.
[0024] The outer shape of the main body sheet 12 presents a flat plate shape. The main body sheet 12 has a rectangular base portion 14, a first flap 15, a second flap 16, a third flap 17, and a fourth flap 18, and an adhesive margin 19. In this embodiment, these are integrally formed and are typically formed by so-called Thomson processing. The boundaries 20 between the base portion 14 and the first flap 15 and the third flap 17, and the boundaries 21 between the base portion 14 and the second flap 16 and the fourth flap 18 are indicated by two-dot chain lines. Since the outer shape of the base portion 14 is rectangular, the base portion 14 has vertical edges (corresponding to the "first edge" described in the claims) formed by the boundaries 20 and 21, and horizontal edges 22 and 23 (corresponding to the "second edge" described in the claims) that intersect with these.
[0025] The base portion 14 has a first fold line 24 and second fold lines 25 to 28. These are formed by the Thomson processing.
[0026] The first fold line 24 extends from the vertical edge 20 to the vertical edge 21 along the horizontal edges 22 and 23 (parallel to the horizontal edges 22 and 23). The ends of the first fold line 24 intersect the centers 30 and 31 of the vertical edges 20 and 21. Due to this first fold line 24, the base portion 14 is folded along the line connecting the centers 30 and 31 of the vertical edges 20 and 21 (along the first fold line 24), and the horizontal edge 22 and the horizontal edge 23 face each other. The adhesive margin 19 is continuously formed along the horizontal edge 23. The adhesive margin 19 presents an elongated strip shape. A fold line may be formed along the horizontal edge 23. This fold line can be formed by the Thomson processing in the same manner as the first fold line 24 or the second fold lines 25. The function of the adhesive margin 19 will be described later.
[0027] The second folds 25 to 28 exhibit an arc shape with a predetermined curvature. The second fold 25 is curved so as to be convex inside the base 14. The second fold 25 is formed so as to connect the first corner 29 of the base 14 and the center 30 of the vertical edge 20 (i.e., the intersection of the vertical edge 20 and the first fold 24). The second fold 27 is curved so as to be convex inside the base 14. The second fold 27 is formed so as to connect the third corner 33 of the base 14 and the center 30 of the vertical edge 20. The second fold 26 is curved so as to be convex inside the base 14 so as to face the second fold 25. The second fold 26 is formed so as to connect the second top 32 of the base 14 and the center 31 of the vertical edge 21 (i.e., the intersection of the vertical edge 21 and the first fold 24). The second fold 28 is curved so as to be convex inside the base 14 so as to face the second fold 27. The second fold 28 is formed so as to connect the fourth top 34 of the base 14 and the center 31 of the vertical edge 20.
[0028] The first flap 15 to the fourth flap 18 are each bent through the second fold 25 to the fourth fold 28. That is, the first flap 15 is bent together with a part of the base 14 through the second fold 25. Similarly, the second flap 16 to the fourth flap 18 are each bent together with a part of the base 14 through the second fold 26 to the second fold 28.
[0029] The outer edge 35 of the first flap 15 (corresponding to the "bulging edge" described in the claims) bulges outward. The shape of this outer edge 35 is formed symmetrically with respect to the second fold 25 with reference to the boundary 20. The outer edge 37 of the third flap 17 (corresponding to the "bulging edge" described in the claims) also bulges outward. The shape of this outer edge 37 is formed symmetrically with respect to the second fold 27 with reference to the boundary 20. Therefore, the first flap 15 and the third flap 17 are formed symmetrically on both sides (upper and lower in FIG. 1) with the first fold 24 interposed therebetween.
[0030] Similarly, the outer edge 36 of the second flap 16 (corresponding to the "bulging edge" described in the claims) bulges outward. The shape of this outer edge 36 is formed symmetrically with respect to the second fold 26 based on the boundary 21. The outer edge 38 of the fourth flap 18 (corresponding to the "bulging edge" described in the claims) also bulges outward. The shape of this outer edge 38 is formed symmetrically with respect to the second fold 28 based on the boundary 21. Therefore, the second flap 16 and the fourth flap 18 are formed symmetrically on both sides with the first fold 24 interposed therebetween.
[0031] Engagement claws 39 and 40 (corresponding to the "engagement portion" described in the claims) are provided on the outer edge 35 of the first flap 15 and the outer edge 36 of the second flap 16, respectively. The engagement claw 39 is integrally formed with the first flap 15, and the engagement claw 40 is integrally formed with the second flap 16. The engagement claw 39 projects from the center of the outer edge 35 of the first flap 15 (the top of the bulging outer edge 35). The engagement claw 39 has a rectangular outer shape with chamfers at the corners. The outer shape of the engagement claw 40 is the same as that of the engagement claw 39 and projects from the center of the outer edge 36 of the second flap 16 (the top of the bulging outer edge 36). The engagement claw 39 and the engagement claw 40 are formed symmetrically left and right in FIG. 1. However, the outer shapes of the engagement claws 39 and 40 are not particularly limited and may be triangular or other polygonal shapes in addition to rectangular.
[0032] Slits 41 and 42 (corresponding to the "engaged portion" described in the claims) are provided along the second fold 27 and the second fold 28, respectively. The slit 41 is provided at the center of the second fold 27 that curves inward of the base 14. The slit 42 is formed symmetrically with the slit 41 left and right in FIG. 1. The lengths 43 of the slit 41 and the slit 42 respectively correspond to the widths 44 of the engagement claw 39 and the engagement claw 40, and the engagement claws 39 and 40 are respectively adapted to be inserted into and removed from the slits 41 and 42.
[0033] In this embodiment, the stitch 45 and the third fold 46, the stitch 47 and the fourth fold 48, the stitch 49 and the fifth fold 50, and the stitch 51 are provided on the base 14. When the stitches 45, 47, 49, 51 are broken, notches are formed in the base 14. The stitch 51 is elliptical or circular, and when it is broken, a hole 56 is formed in the base 14. When the stitch 45 is broken, a part 52 of the base 14 is cut up along the third fold 46. Similarly, when the stitch 47 is broken, a part 53 of the base 14 is cut up along the fourth fold 48. The part 52 and the part 53 are symmetrically shaped in FIG. 1. When the stitch 49 is broken, a part 54 of the base 14 is cut up along the fifth fold 50. When the part 54 is cut up with the part 52 and the part 53 being cut up, a leg 57 is formed in the base 14 as shown in FIG. 3. However, the stitches 45, 47, 49, 51 and the third fold 46, the fourth fold 48, the fifth fold 50 may be omitted.
[0034] As shown in FIG. 2, the covering sheet 13 is generally composed of paper, tack paper (for concealment), and resin films (typically, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), etc.). The covering sheet 13 is rectangular and is attached to the base 14. The size of the covering sheet 13 corresponds to the base 14. In this embodiment, the size of the covering sheet 13 corresponds to the state where the base 14 is folded back at the first fold 24 etc. and assembled three-dimensionally. That is, it is set to a size that covers the region 55 (corresponding to the "predetermined region" described in the claims) partitioned by the second fold 25, the first fold 24, the second fold 26, and the lateral edges 22 (23) of the base 14. For this reason, the side edges 57, 58 of the covering sheet 13 are curved corresponding to the second folds 25, 26. However, the size of the covering sheet 13 may be a size that covers only a part of the region 55.
[0035] The covering sheet 13 is attached to the region 55 via a predetermined adhesive (preferably a weak adhesive re-peelable type). This adhesive can be easily peeled from the base 14 without damaging the base 14.
[0036] The packaging material 10 according to this embodiment is assembled in the following manner and used as the packaging box 11 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. This packaging box 11 is used, for example, for direct mail.
[0037] For example, by Thomson processing, the main body sheet 12 having the shape shown in FIG. 1 is formed. On the other hand, the covering sheet 13 is cut in a predetermined manner.
[0038] The base 14 of the main body sheet 12 is bent along the first fold line 24. That is, in FIG. 1, the base 14 is mountain-folded by an imaginary line connecting the center of the vertical edge 20 and the center of the vertical edge 21 of the base 14, and the horizontal edges 22 and 23 of the base 14 face each other. When the horizontal edges 22 and 23 are fixed by known means (for example, an adhesive), the base 14 is formed into a three-dimensional shape in a cylindrical shape, and an accommodation space is formed inside. In this embodiment, the sticking margin 19 is bent inward (mountain-folded in the figure) along the horizontal edge 23, and an adhesive is further applied to this sticking margin 19. That is, the horizontal edges 22 and 23 are surely adhered via the sticking margin 19.
[0039] The first flap 15 to the fourth flap 18 are bent along the second fold line 25 to the second fold line 28. At this time, the first flap 15 to the fourth flap 18 are bent toward the inside of the accommodation chamber. As a result, the left lid in the figure is constituted by the first flap 15 and the third flap 17, and the right lid is constituted by the second flap 16 and the fourth flap 18.
[0040] In this embodiment, after the third flap 17 and the fourth flap 18 are bent, the first flap 15 and the second flap 16 are bent. That is, the lid has a double structure. Since the slits 41 and 42 are provided in the third flap 17 and the fourth flap 18, and the engaging claws 39 and 40 are formed in the first flap 15 and the second flap 16, the engaging claw 39 is inserted into the slit 41, and the engaging claw 40 is inserted into the slit 42. Thereby, the lid is surely closed, and the base portion 14 is formed in a pillow shape bulging outward as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. However, the engaging claws 39 and 40 can be removed from the slits 41 and 42, and when the first flap 15 to the fourth flap 18 are bent outside the storage chamber, the storage chamber is opened.
[0041] A covering sheet 13 is provided on the base portion 14 to cover the region 55 of the base portion 14. Required information can be displayed in this region 55 by printing or the like. The predetermined information is, for example, a text or a photograph that attractively introduces the article stored in the storage chamber. The covering sheet 13 can be easily peeled off from the base portion 14, and when peeled off, the text and the photograph are exposed. On the surface of the covering sheet 13, information regarding the name and the contents is printed, and characters, figures, etc. that prompt the addressee to peel off the covering sheet 13 are printed. As described above, a part of the base portion 14 may be cut up to form the leg 57. However, the perforation 45 or the like constituting the leg 57 may be omitted.
[0042] When the packaging box 11 assembled by this packaging material 10 is used for direct mail, on the coating sheet 13, in addition to the name and address, information about the contents and an indication prompting the peeling of the coating sheet 13 are provided. Therefore, the addressee (a third party) who receives this direct mail is psychologically driven by the impulse to peel off the coating sheet 13 because such a coating sheet 13 is provided and there is an indication prompting the peeling of this coating sheet 13. Furthermore, when this coating sheet 13 is peeled off, texts, photos, etc. that attractively introduce the contents are exposed, so the addressee is more likely to open this direct mail.
