Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[0008] [First Embodiment] The disk grinder cover 1 according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1A to 6D. Note that, in the drawings, some members may be omitted. Also, the sizes and positional relationships of the respective members may be exaggerated. The disk grinder cover 1 is attached to a disk grinder and constitutes a part of the disk grinder. The disk grinder is a tool that rotates a disk-shaped disk to which an abrasive wheel is attached to polish or grind the surface of an object. An operator holds the disk grinder by hand and presses the disk against a processing surface 200 such as a floor or a wall to perform polishing or grinding.

[0009] As illustrated in FIGS. 1A, 1B, and 2, the disk grinder 101 includes a tool body 10 that generates rotational power, a rotating shaft 14 disposed on the tool body 10, a disk 16, and a pedestal portion 20. The disk grinder cover 1 includes a protective cover 30 and an angle fixing portion 40, and here, further includes a skirt portion 50. In addition to these, the disk grinder cover 1 includes a connection pipe 70 for connecting an external hose to the protective cover 30 and a locking portion 60 (see FIG. 6B) that supports the skirt portion 50. Hereinafter, each configuration of the disk grinder 101 to which the disk grinder cover 1 is attached will be described. Note that FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view that illustrates each configuration by disassembling the disk grinder 101 as viewed from the lower side. Also, regardless of the orientation of the processing surface 200, the description will be made with the disk 16 side of the disk grinder 101 being the lower side and the pedestal portion 20 side being the upper side.

[0010] (Tool body) The tool body 10 is the main body part of the disk grinder 101 and generates rotational power. The tool body 10 has a body part 11 that is gripped by an operator and a head part 12 that bends substantially at a right angle from the body part 11. The body part 11 has a cylindrical housing and incorporates a power source for rotating the disk 16. The power source is, for example, an air motor driven by compressed air, and may also be an electric motor. The head part 12 embeds one end side of the rotation axis 14 that is the center of rotation of the disk 16. The tip part of the head part 12 is a pedestal part 20 to which a protection cover 30 described later is fixed, and the other end side of the rotation axis 14 protrudes from the pedestal part 20.

[0011] (Rotation axis) The rotation axis 14 is an axis that is the center of rotation of the disk 16. The rotation axis 14 receives a rotational force by an air motor or the like inside the head part 12 and transmits the power of the tool body 10. The rotation axis 14 protrudes downward from the central position of the pedestal part 20.

[0012] (Disk) The disk 16 has a disk-shaped base body attached to the rotation axis 14 and has a grinding stone. Here, the disk 16 has an annular outer peripheral part 17 and a central part 18 that protrudes in one direction from the outer peripheral part 17 via an inclined part 19. The disk 16 is fixed to the tip part of the rotation axis 14 at the central part 18. A plurality of through holes are provided in the inclined part 19 so as to allow dust or the like generated by polishing or grinding to pass through. The disk 16 rotates together with the rotation axis 14 and can polish or grind the lower processing surface 200. Note that through holes may not be provided in the inclined part. Also, the disk may have a shape without an inclined part.

[0013] (Pedestal part) The pedestal part 20 is a part that supports the rotation axis 14 and fixes the protection cover 30. The pedestal part 20 is located at the tip part of the head part 12 and supports the rotation axis 14 on the tool body 10 side. The pedestal part 20 is disposed on the tool body 10 side through the rotation axis 14. The pedestal portion 20 has a shaft support portion 22 that protrudes from the head portion 12 and supports the rotation shaft 14, and a fixed surface 24 that is an annular surface surrounding the shaft support portion 22. Here, the shaft support portion 22 is cylindrical with the axial direction of the rotation shaft 14 as the height direction. The shaft support portion 22 supports the rotation shaft 14 and rotatably supports the protection cover 30 at a position spaced apart from the fixed surface 24. The fixed surface 24 is a surface that contacts the biasing plate 45 described later.

[0014] (Disc Grinder Cover) The disc grinder cover 1 is a member that protects an operator or the like from the rotating disc 16 and suppresses the scattering of chips, dust, etc. Here, the disc grinder cover 1 includes a protection cover 30, an angle fixing portion 40, a skirt portion 50, a connection pipe 70, and a locking portion 60. Hereinafter, each component of the disc grinder cover 1 will be described in a state where it is attached to the disc grinder 101.

[0015] (Protection Cover) The protection cover 30 is a member that protects an operator or an external object from coming into contact with the rotating disc 16. Further, the protection cover 30 can reduce the scattering of chips, dust, etc. generated by polishing or grinding. The protection cover 30 covers the disc 16 from the pedestal portion 20 side and is fixed to the pedestal portion 20. The protection cover 30 includes a side wall 30B that surrounds the disc 16 from the side and an upper wall 30A that covers the upper surface which is the surface on the pedestal portion 20 side of the disc 16 and is continuous from the side wall 30B. And here, the side wall 30B and the upper wall 30A are composed of a main body portion 31 that exposes a part of the disc 16 from an opening 35 that opens along a plane parallel to the rotation shaft 14 and a detachable portion 32 that is detachable from the opening 35.

[0016] (Side Wall and Upper Wall) The side wall 30B surrounds the disc 16 from the side and is configured in a substantially cylindrical shape. The lower end portion of the side wall 30B is located above the lower surface of the disc 16. Thereby, even when the disc 16 is tilted for polishing or grinding, contact between the lower end portion of the side wall 30B and the processing surface 200 can be suppressed. The upper wall 30A continuously covers the upper part of the disk 16 from the side walls 30B. The upper wall 30A is substantially annular, and the central through-hole is fitted to the tip of the shaft support 22 and is rotatably supported. The angular position of the protective cover 30 around the rotation axis 14 is fixed by an angular fixing portion 40 described later.

[0017] The upper wall 30A bends downward at the peripheral edge of the through-hole to form an annular wall portion. By this annular wall portion, when processing the ceiling or the like while supplying cooling water or the like, the cooling water or the like flowing from the outer peripheral side to the center side of the protective cover 30 can be blocked, and the intrusion of the cooling water or the like into the rotation shaft 14 can be reduced. The protective cover 30 has an upper surface plate 49A on the upper surface of the upper wall and a lower surface plate 49B on the lower surface. Recesses are formed on the upper surface of the upper wall according to the planar shape and thickness of the upper surface plate 49A, and recesses are formed on the lower surface according to the planar shape and thickness of the lower surface plate 49B. Then, the upper surface plate 49A is embedded in the recess on the upper surface, and the lower surface plate 49B is embedded in the recess on the lower surface.

[0018] The upper surface plate 49A and the lower surface plate 49B have through-holes larger than the through-hole of the upper wall 30A, and an annular wall portion provided at the peripheral edge of the through-hole of the upper wall 30A is arranged in the through-hole of the lower surface plate 49B. The upper surface plate 49A and the lower surface plate 49B are plate-like members of uniform thickness and have a planar shape that includes the positions where support columns 46 described later are arranged. Here, the upper surface plate 49A and the lower surface plate 49B have the same shape, and the members can be made common. The materials of the upper surface plate 49A and the lower surface plate 49B can be, for example, stainless steel or aluminum.

[0019] (Main body part and detachable part) As illustrated in FIG. 2, the protective cover 30 is composed of a main body part 31 and a detachable part 32. The protective cover 30 is divided into two parts by a plane parallel to the rotation axis 14 at a position separated from the central through-hole of the upper wall 30A. One part is the main body part 31, and the other part is the detachable part 32. The attachment and detachment of the detachable part 32 can be performed by sliding the detachable part 32 in the direction D perpendicular to the rotation axis 14.

[0020] The main body portion 31 is formed in a size that exposes a part of the disk 16 from an opening 35 that opens along a plane parallel to the rotation axis 14. The opening 35 is provided at a position where a part of the outer peripheral portion 17 of the disk 16 is exposed in a plan view. As shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, here, in the connection with the detachable portion 32, the main body portion 31 includes a connection portion 36 having a stepped cross-sectional shape, and the detachable portion 32 is configured to slide and be attached to this connection portion 36. As an example, the connection portion 36 extends in a direction D orthogonal to the rotation axis 14 in the disk grinder 101, and has a convex portion with a stepped cross-section perpendicular to the extending direction, and the detachable portion 32 has a groove that meshes with the convex portion. Thereby, the detachable portion 32 is difficult to come off due to vibrations or the like associated with the work. As illustrated in FIGS. 4C to 4E, the detachable portion 32 can be attached to the main body portion 31 by sliding it in the direction D shown in FIG. 4C without using other tools or the like. Note that FIGS. 4C to 4E schematically illustrate a part of the protective cover 30 with other members omitted.

[0021] The detachable portion 32 has a detachable side wall 32B that continuously surrounds the disk 16 from the side wall of the main body portion 31, and a detachable upper wall 32A that is continuous from the upper end portion of the detachable side wall 32B to the upper wall of the main body portion 31. This detachable portion 32 is detachable from the opening 35 of the main body portion 31 and becomes a part of the protective cover 30 when attached. The lower end portion of the detachable side wall 32B is set to the same height as the side wall of the main body portion 31 in the vertical direction. Thereby, when the detachable portion 32 is attached, the protective cover 30 can suppress the scattering of dust or the like while avoiding contact with the processing surface 200 to the same extent in any direction on the processing surface 200, and it is easy to proceed with the work at a location away from the inside corner and the outside corner.

[0022] (Angle fixing portion) The angle fixing part 40 is a mechanism for fixing the angle around the rotation axis 14 of the protection cover 30 with respect to the tool body 10. The angle fixing part 40 sets the angular position of the protection cover 30 and fixes it to the pedestal part 20. FIG. 3A illustrates the circumferential position of the protection cover 30 when the angular position θ = 0, and FIG. 3B illustrates the circumferential position of the protection cover 30 when the angular position θ = 45°. Here, the angle fixing part 40 can set the angular position by changing the angular position θ by 45° each time. The 45° angle that is the unit of setting the angular position can be made finer by reducing the diameters of the fixing holes 43 and the protrusions 42 of the engaging part 41. Also, the angular positions to be set can be increased by increasing the number of fixing holes 43 in the circumferential direction. Note that the angular position θ is positive in the clockwise direction in a plan view.

[0023] The angle fixing part 40 includes a biasing plate 45 biased in the direction from the protection cover 30 to the pedestal part 20 via an elastic member 48, and an engaging part 41 that engages with the biasing plate 45 facing the pedestal part 20 at the set angular position. As illustrated in FIG. 4A, the biasing plate 45 is supported by support columns 46 so as to be movable in the vertical direction. Here, the support columns 46 are fixed to the upper wall 31A of the main body part 31 via an upper surface plate 49A. The support columns 46 have an elastic member 48 and a columnar member 47, and the elastic member 48 is a coil spring. The columnar member 47 is a cylindrical member standing upright on the upper wall 31A and is inserted into the coil spring of the elastic member 48. A threaded part of a bolt is inserted through the columnar member 47, and the head of the bolt is disposed on the upper surface side of the biasing plate 45. The threaded part of the bolt is fixed with a nut on the lower surface side of the upper wall 31A via a lower surface plate 49B. The length of the columnar member 47 corresponds to the distance between the upper surface plate 49A and the biasing plate 45. Note that in FIG. 4A, the skirt part is not attached. Also, the description of the connecting pipe and some of the support columns 46 is omitted. The same applies to FIG. 4B.

[0024] The engaging portion 41 includes a fixing hole 43 provided on the biasing plate 45 so as to be arranged at equal intervals on the circumference centered on the rotation axis 14, and a plurality of protruding portions 42 provided on the pedestal portion 20 so as to engage with the fixing hole 43. Thereby, the angular position can be set in units of a predetermined rotation angle. As illustrated in FIGS. 5A and 5B, here, eight fixing holes 43 of the same shape are provided on the biasing plate 45 at equal intervals, and four protruding portions 42 having a shape that fits into the fixing hole 43 are provided on the fixing surface 24 of the pedestal portion 20. The predetermined rotation angle as a unit is 45°. The material of the biasing plate 45 can be a metal such as aluminum, for example. The protruding portion 42 can be, for example, the head of a screw screwed into the fixing surface 24. FIGS. 5A and 5B are bottom views illustrating the removal of the member below the biasing plate 45. FIG. 5A shows the case where the angular position θ = 0, and FIG. 5B shows the case where the angular position θ = 45°.

[0025] (Skirt portion) The skirt portion 50 is a member that confines dust and the like generated by polishing or grinding below the protective cover 30. As illustrated in FIGS. 1A and 2, the skirt portion 50 is provided in a cylindrical shape that covers along the side wall of the protective cover 30 and extends below the lower end portion of the main body portion 31. The skirt portion 50 is attached to the protective cover 30 by a locking portion 60. By covering the skirt portion 50 along the side wall of the protective cover 30, the attachment / detachment portion 32 can be pressed at the position of the outer circumference of the protective cover 30 with respect to the sliding direction, and the fixing of the attachment / detachment portion 32 by a screw or the like can be made unnecessary. In some cases, the skirt portion 50 may be described as the skirt portion 51 when it is cylindrical and the skirt portion 53 when it is not cylindrical. The skirt portion 50 is, for example, made of a flexible resin. As a result, the skirt portion 50 can be deformed to efficiently perform attachment and replacement. Further, the skirt portion 50 has a number of cuts 57 which are cuts made upward from the lower end portion thereof. The length and interval of the cuts 57 can be adjusted according to the material and thickness of the skirt portion 50. Here, the cut 57 has a length of about 1 / 3 of the vertical width of the skirt portion 50 and is provided at an interval of about 10 mm. As a result, the lower end portion of the skirt portion 50 is easily deformed, suppressing catching on the unevenness etc. of the processing surface 200, and the disk grinder 101 can be smoothly moved while bringing the lower end portion of the skirt portion 50 into contact with the processing surface 200. The material of the skirt portion 50 is preferably transparent. Thereby, the work can proceed while visually recognizing the disk 16 and the processing surface 200.

[0026] (Locking portion) The locking portion 60 is two members for locking the skirt portion 50 to the protective cover 30, one side and the other side. The locking portion 60 can detachably lock the skirt portion 50 to the protective cover 30 by attaching one member to the other member. The protective cover 30 has, on the upper wall 30A, one of the locking portions 60 that detachably supports the skirt portion 50, and the skirt portion 50 has the other of the locking portions 60. As an example, one of the locking portions 60 is the pressing portion 63 and the other is the insertion portion 61. As illustrated in FIG. 6A, the insertion portion 61 is formed at one end side of the support fitting 55 in a shape that partially opens and surrounds the outer surface of the columnar member. As illustrated in FIG. 6B, the pressing portion 63 is annular and locks the insertion portion 61 on the upper wall 31A of the main body portion 31.

[0027] Here, four support fittings 55 having insertion portions 61 are provided at intervals on the circumference of a skirt portion 50 having a circular shape in plan view. As illustrated in FIG. 6B, the upper wall 31A has inner peripheral bolt holes HA1-HA4 on the inner peripheral side and outer peripheral bolt holes HB1-HB4 on the outer peripheral side, and the pressing portion 63 is arranged in alignment with the positions of the holes in the outer peripheral bolt holes HB1-HB4. Bolts are inserted through the inner peripheral bolt holes and the outer peripheral bolt holes, and the support columns 46 of the angle fixing portion 40 are fixed. Note that the inner peripheral bolt holes and the outer peripheral bolt holes are provided so as to penetrate the upper surface plate 49A, the upper wall 31A, and the lower surface plate 49B. As illustrated in FIG. 6C, the support fitting 55 has an L-shaped cross section in side view, and the other end side is fixed to the outer surface of the skirt portion 50. The pressing portion 63 annularly surrounds the outer surface of a columnar member 47 standing upright on the upper wall 31A, and the insertion portion 61 partially opens along the outer surface of the columnar member 47 and surrounds it. The pressing portion 63 and the insertion portion 61 penetrate the columnar member 47 and are arranged such that the pressing portion 63 overlaps the insertion portion 61. Then, the pressing portion 63 is urged by the elastic force of an elastic member 48 and presses and locks the insertion portion 61 in the direction of the upper wall 31A.

[0028] The pressing portion 63 is provided on the main body portion 31 side of the support column 46 of the angle fixing portion 40. An elastic member 48 that urges the pressing portion 63 downward urges an urging plate 45 upward. Thereby, a support column 46 that supports the urging plate 45 can also be provided on the outer peripheral side of the protective cover 30, and the stabilization of the angle fixing portion 40 can be achieved. Further, the pressing portion 63 has a dish shape in which the peripheral edge portion curves upward. In attaching the skirt portion 50, since a part of the insertion portion 61 is open, the columnar member 47 can be taken inside through the gap, and can be inserted under the pressing portion 63 without removing the pressing portion 63. The insertion portion 61 can be inserted and arranged, for example, from the outer peripheral side to the center side of the main body portion 31, along the outer surface of the columnar member 47 until it surrounds the columnar member 47 under the pressing of the pressing portion 63. Since the peripheral edge portion of the pressing portion 63 curves upward, it becomes easier to insert the insertion portion 61, and the skirt portion 50 can be attached more efficiently.

[0029] (Connecting pipe) The connecting pipe 70 is a pipe to which an external hose for dust collection is connected. One end of the connecting pipe 70 is provided so as to penetrate the protective cover 30, and an external hose is connected to the other end. There is no particular limitation on the position where one end of the connecting pipe 70 is provided. The connecting pipe 70 can be arranged, for example, in parallel with the body portion 11 of the tool body 10, and the other end can be directed in a direction away from the opening 35. As illustrated in FIG. 3A, here, one end of the connecting pipe 70 is provided at the outer edge portion of the protective cover 30 on the opposite side of the opening 35 in a plan view, and extends in a direction away from the opening 35.

[0030] The disc grinder cover 1 having the above-described configuration is provided with an angle fixing portion that sets the angular position of the protective cover and fixes it to the pedestal portion, so that the orientation of the protective cover with respect to the disc grinder body can be changed, and polishing or grinding operations can proceed smoothly. The disc grinder cover 1 is composed of a main body portion that exposes a part of the disc from an opening where the side wall and the upper wall of the protective cover open along a plane parallel to the rotation axis, and a detachable portion that is detachable from the opening. In the disc grinder with the disc attached, the detachable portion can be removed to perform maintenance such as cleaning on the lower surface side of the protective cover.

[0031] The disc grinder cover 1 is provided with a cylindrical skirt portion that covers the protective cover along the side wall thereof and extends downward from the lower end portion of the main body portion, so that it is possible to suppress the scattering of dust and the like generated by polishing or grinding performed by the disc grinder to the outside. Further, one of the locking portions that the protective cover detachably supports the skirt portion is provided on the upper wall, and the skirt portion has the other of the locking portions, so that the skirt portion can be attached or replaced without using a tool such as a driver, and the work efficiency can be improved.

[0032] Note that the detachable upper wall 32A of the detachable portion 32 has a step that descends from the upper wall 31A of the main body portion 31, but the detachable side wall 32B may be extended upward to form an upper wall without a step. The elastic member can be various springs such as a coil spring or a leaf spring. The elastic member may generate an upward biasing force, including the state where the biasing plate 45 is in contact with the fixed surface 24. One or both of the upper panel 49A and the lower panel 49B may be installed on the upper wall 30A of the protective cover 30 without providing a recess, or the installation may be omitted. The support posts 46 and the locking portions 60 can be provided in contact with, for example, the upper wall 31A of the main body portion 31. The number of fixing holes 43 of the engaging portion 41 does not have to be eight. By increasing the number of fixing holes 43, a predetermined rotation angle in units of the angular position θ can be made smaller. The diameter of the fixing holes 43 may be reduced. The plurality of protrusion portions 42 can be provided at positions and in shapes that engage with the fixing holes 43.

[0033] When the support posts 46 of the angle fixing portion 40 are provided at four locations of the outer peripheral bolt holes HB1 - HB4, the support posts 46 of the inner peripheral bolt holes HA1 - HA4 may be omitted. Further, the locations where the support posts 46 are provided may be three of the outer peripheral bolt holes HB1 - HB4. That is, the support posts 46 of the angle fixing portion 40 may be provided at at least three locations on the outer peripheral side. At this time, the arrangement of the locking portions 60 can also be at those three locations. Note that the positions of the three support posts 46 on the outer peripheral side do not have to be the same as the positions of the outer peripheral bolt holes HB1 - HB4 in FIG. 6B, and it is preferable that they are as spaced apart from each other as possible on the upper wall 31A. The elastic member that biases the pressing portion 63 may be provided independently of the support posts 46 of the biasing plate 45. Further, the pressing portion 63 may not be biased by the elastic member, but may be fixed with a gap provided so that, for example, the insertion portion 61 can be sandwiched and supported between the pressing portion 63 and the upper panel 49A. The columnar member 47 of the support post 46 has been described as being cylindrical with a bolt inserted therethrough, but it does not have to be cylindrical and may be integrally formed with the bolt.

[0034] (Operation of the angle fixing portion) Next, the operation of the angle fixing portion 40 will be described with reference to FIGS. 4A and 4B. The angle fixing part 40 fixes the angular position in the fixed state and releases the fixing of the angular position in the released state. As illustrated in FIG. 4A, in the fixed state, the engaging part 41 in the angle fixing part 40 has the protrusion 42 of the pedestal part 20 inserted into and engaged with the fixing hole 43 of the biasing plate 45, thereby fixing the angular position. In the fixed state, the biasing plate 45 is in contact with the fixing surface 24 and receives an upward biasing force from the elastic member 48. The biasing force of the elastic member 48 acts to press the biasing plate 45 toward the pedestal part 20, and the fixed state is maintained.

[0035] As illustrated in FIG. 4B, by applying an external force F against the biasing force of the elastic member 48 (the operator presses and moves it with a finger) to bring the biasing plate 45 closer to the protective cover 30, the angle fixing part 40 can be put into the released state. In the released state, the protrusion 42 is not inserted into the fixing hole 43, and the fixing surface 24, the protrusion 42, and the biasing plate 45 are separated from each other. In this released state, the angular position of the protective cover 30 can be set. The external force F required to put it into the released state is preferably smaller than the gripping force of the operator. Thereby, the biasing plate 45 and the protective cover 30 can be brought closer by the gripping force to be in the released state, and further rotated around the rotation axis 14 to set the angular position.

[0036] The disk grinder cover 1 has an angle fixing part including a biasing plate biased from the protective cover toward the pedestal part via an elastic member, and an engaging part that engages with the biasing plate facing the pedestal part at the set angular position. Thus, without using a tool such as a driver, the orientation of the protective cover with respect to the disk grinder main body can be changed, and the work efficiency can be improved. And, by having the engaging part include fixing holes provided at equal intervals on the circumference centered on the rotation axis on the biasing plate, and a plurality of protrusions provided on the pedestal part so as to engage with the fixing holes, the angular position can be set in units of a predetermined rotation angle.

[0037] (Operation of the locking part) Next, the operation of the locking part 60 when provided on the main body part 31 side of the support column 46 will be described with reference to FIGS. 6C and 6D. The skirt portion 50 supported by the locking portion 60 is biased downward via the support fitting 55 by the biasing force of the elastic member 48. When an operator presses the disc grinder against the machining surface 200, the skirt portion 50 receives an external force upward. As illustrated in FIG. 6D, the insertion portion 61 of the support fitting 55 can move up and down along the columnar member 47, and can lift the pressing portion 63 against the biasing force of the elastic member 48. The support fitting 55 moves upward with respect to the protective cover 30, and the insertion portion 61 is separated from the protective cover 30. When the support fitting 55 moves upward, the length of the skirt portion 50 extending from the lower end portion of the main body portion 31 becomes shorter. Then, when the skirt portion 50 no longer receives an external force upward, the skirt portion 50 returns to its original position by the downward biasing force of the elastic member 48.

[0038] By providing the locking portion 60 on the main body portion 31 side of the support column 46, the skirt portion 50 can move up and down with respect to the protective cover 30 while being biased downward. Thereby, the disc grinder cover 1 can adjust the position of the lower end portion of the skirt portion 50 according to the force with which the operator presses the disc grinder against the machining surface 200, and can effectively suppress the generation of a gap between the disc grinder cover 1 and the machining surface 200. Further, the support fittings 55 can move up and down independently of each other. Thereby, the skirt portion 50 can take a posture inclined with respect to the protective cover 30. Even when the work is performed while adjusting the angle at which the disc grinder is pressed against the machining surface 200, the disc grinder cover 1 can effectively suppress the generation of a gap between the disc grinder cover 1 and the machining surface 200.

[0039] [Second Embodiment] Next, the disc grinder cover 2 according to the second embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 7A and 7B. The disc grinder cover 2 is different from the first embodiment in the attachment / detachment portion 33 and the skirt portion 53, and the rest is common to the first embodiment. As illustrated in FIG. 7A, the disk grinder cover 2 further includes a skirt portion 53 that covers the side wall 31B of the main body portion 31 along the side wall 31B and extends downward from the lower end portion of the main body portion 31. The attachment / detachment portion 33 of the disk grinder cover 2 has a flat attachment / detachment side wall 33B parallel to the rotation axis 14, and the disk 16 protrudes from the attachment / detachment side wall 33B in a plan view. The main body portion 31 has one of the locking portions 60 that detachably supports the skirt portion 53 on the upper wall 31A, and the skirt portion 53 has the other of the locking portions 60.

[0040] The attachment / detachment portion 33 has a flat attachment / detachment side wall 33B parallel to the rotation axis 14, and is arranged such that the attachment / detachment side wall 33B abuts against the opening 35. The distance from the center of the rotation axis 14 to the outer surface of the attachment / detachment side wall 33B is smaller than the radius of the disk 16, and the disk 16 protrudes from the attachment / detachment side wall 33B in a plan view. Thus, as illustrated in FIG. 7B, in the disk grinder 102 to which the disk grinder cover 2 is attached, the lower surface of the disk 16 can be applied to the processing surface 200 outside the attachment / detachment side wall 33B. Also, at the corner portion where the processing surface 200 is adjacent to the wall 210 or the like, the disk 16 can be applied to the end of the processing surface 200 to perform polishing or grinding. The lower end portion of the attachment / detachment side wall 33B is notched in a rectangular shape on the central side so as not to contact the outer peripheral portion 17 of the disk 16. With such a shape, the attachment / detachment side wall 33B can suppress the scattering of dust or the like to the outside and protrude the disk 16.

[0041] Here, the detachable part 33 is detachably supported by the locking part 60 on the main body part 31. The detachable part 33 has an upper wall connecting part 56A and a side wall connecting part 56B. The side wall connecting part 56B is bent from the detachable side wall 33B and extends in a direction along the side wall 31B of the main body part 31. The side wall connecting part 56B is fixed to the outer surface of the skirt part 53. The upper wall connecting part 56A is formed so as to be bent short along the upper wall 31A of the main body part 31 from the upper end part of the detachable side wall 33B. Both circumferential end parts of the upper wall connecting part 56A in the main body part 31 extend to the position of the locking part 60, have insertion parts 61 at their tip parts, and are locked by a pressing part 63 in the same manner as the support fitting 55. The detachable part 33 can be formed of a metal plate such as aluminum or the like.

[0042] The skirt part 53 has a shape in which a part of a cylinder is cut out in an arc shape and covers the side wall 31B along the side wall 31B of the main body part 31. The skirt part 53 and the detachable side wall 33B surround the main body part 31 in an annular shape. The lower end part of the skirt part 53 extends downward from the lower end part of the main body part 31. The skirt part 53 is supported by the locking part 60 via the support fitting 55. Also, the skirt part 53 is supported by the locking part 60 via the detachable part 33. The skirt part 53 and the detachable part 33 are detachably supported by the locking part 60 on the main body part 31.

[0043] The disk grinder cover 2 having the above-described configuration, in a state of being attached to the disk grinder, in a plan view, since the disk protrudes from the detachable side wall, the disk can also be applied to the processing surface outside the detachable side wall, and it is possible to perform polishing or grinding of the corner part while having the protective cover and the skirt part.

[0044] [Third Embodiment] Next, the disk grinder cover 3 according to the third embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 8A and 8B. The disk grinder cover 3 is different from the first embodiment in that the detachable part 34 is different, and the rest is common to the first embodiment. As illustrated in FIG. 8A, the detachable portion 34 of the disk grinder cover 3 includes a detachable side wall 34B that continuously surrounds the disk 16 laterally from the side wall 31B of the main body portion 31, a detachable upper wall 34A that is continuous from the upper end portion of the detachable side wall 34B to the upper wall 31A of the main body portion 31, and a detachable lower wall 34C that is continuous from the lower end portion of the detachable side wall 34B and faces the detachable upper wall 34A. The lower end portion of the detachable side wall 34B is below the lower surface of the disk 16.

[0045] The lower end portion of the detachable side wall 34B extends below the lower end portion of the side wall of the main body portion 31 and is below the lower surface of the disk 16. Then, as illustrated in FIG. 8B, a detachable lower wall 34C is provided at the lower end portion of the detachable side wall 34B so as to face the detachable upper wall 34A. The detachable lower wall 34C has a bow-shaped configuration surrounded by an arc-shaped curve formed by the lower end portion of the detachable side wall 34B and its chord, and can close a gap generated between the wall 220 adjacent to the processing surface 200 at the chamfered corner and the detachable side wall 34B. The detachable portion 34 is common with the detachable portion 32 of the first embodiment in other respects. In the third embodiment, on the main body portion 31 side, the skirt portion 51 extends below the lower end portion of the main body portion 31, and on the detachable portion 34 side, the detachable side wall 34B extends below the lower end portion of the skirt portion 51.

[0046] In the case of a disk grinder to which the detachable portion 32 of the first embodiment is attached, a region that is open below the protective cover 30 is generated at the chamfered corner, and dust or the like scatters. The main body portion 31 exposes a part of the disk 16 through an opening 35 that opens along a plane parallel to the rotation axis 14, and in a plan view, a part of the outer peripheral portion 17 of the disk 16 is exposed from the opening 35. Therefore, by attaching the detachable portion 34 of the third embodiment, even when the lower surface of the disk 16 is applied to the chamfered corner with the wall 220 adjacent to the processing surface 200 or the like in the disk grinder 103, the detachable lower wall 34C can close the gap between the detachable side wall 34B and the wall 220 or the like. By having the detachable lower wall 34C, the detachable portion 34 can suppress the downward scattering of dust or the like at the chamfered corner and perform polishing or grinding with the disk grinder 103.

[0047] The disk grinder cover 3 having the above-described configuration, when attached to the disk grinder, is continuous from the lower end of the detachable side wall that is below the lower surface of the disk, and has a detachable lower wall that faces the detachable upper wall, so that it is possible to polish or grind the corner portion while suppressing the scattering of dust and the like. Here, a detachable middle wall 34D having the same shape as the detachable lower wall 34C is further provided below the lower surface of the disk 16 and above the detachable lower wall 34C. By having the detachable middle wall 34D, it is possible to further suppress the downward scattering of dust and the like. And as illustrated in FIG. 8C, the detachable portion 34 has a roller 38 that rotates about a vertical axis below the lower surface of the disk 16 between the detachable lower wall 34C and the detachable middle wall 34D. A part of the outer peripheral surface of the roller 38 protrudes toward the rotation axis 14 side from the detachable lower wall 34C and the detachable middle wall 34D. When the roller 38 contacts and rolls on the wall 220, the resistance due to the unevenness of the wall 220 is reduced and the wear of the detachable portion 34 is suppressed, and the operator can polish or grind the corner portion while smoothly moving the disk grinder 103 to which the disk grinder cover 3 is attached.

[0048] The disk grinder covers 1, 2, and 3 can be mutually changed in form by exchanging the detachable portion or the skirt portion, and the exchange of the detachable portion or the skirt portion can be performed without using a tool such as a driver. The disk grinder covers 1, 2, and 3 can easily perform the exchange of the detachable portion and the change of the orientation of the protective cover with respect to the disk grinder main body, and can improve the quality of polishing or grinding of the processed surface including the inner corner portion and the outer corner portion and improve the work efficiency.

[0049] Note that the planar shape of the protective cover may be a polygonal shape such as a quadrilateral, a pentagon, or a hexagon. For example, when it is rectangular, an opening can be provided so as to open in a plane parallel to one side of the rectangular shape and the rotation axis. The skirt portion can be shaped along the side wall of the protective cover or the main body portion.
