Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] The present disclosure relates to window stays and casement windows. [Background technology]

[0002] Conventionally, window stays for casement windows have been known that are attached across the window frame and the shoji screen and are configured to open the window by pushing the shoji screen toward the outside of the window frame (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

[0003] The window stay has a carriage slidably attached to a base plate that is attached to the visible surface of the window frame. A first link plate is swingably connected to the carriage, and a second link plate is swingably connected to the base plate. A movable plate is swingably connected across the first link plate and the second link plate. The movable plate is attached to the visible surface of the shoji screen. With the carriage positioned at one end of the base plate, the window stay moves the shoji screen between a closed position and a push-out position that pushes it diagonally toward the outside of the room.

[0004] Typically, the carriage is held at one end of the base plate and is configured to slide toward the connection between the base plate and the second link plate by pressing a release button. The window stay allows the carriage to slide close to the connection between the base plate and the second link plate, pushing the shoji screen further outward. This opens up the inside of the window frame, making it easy to clean the outside surface of the shoji screen from inside the room. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] Special Publication No. 2019-536927 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0006] When assembling a window stay, the carriage is slidably attached to the base plate by sliding it from one end of the base plate. To prevent the carriage from slipping out of the base plate, a protrusion or other feature must be machined onto the base plate after the carriage is attached to the base plate. Furthermore, the stopper member of a conventional window stay requires a release button to be added after the base plate is crimped. Thus, conventional window stays have room for improvement in terms of productivity.

[0007] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a window stay with improved productivity, and a casement window including the window stay. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] The present disclosure provides a window stay comprising: a base plate constituting an attachment portion to a window frame; a carriage provided slidably along the length direction of the base plate; a first link plate swingably connected at one end to the carriage; a second link plate swingably connected at one end to the base plate; and a movable plate constituting an attachment portion to a shoji screen housed in the window frame and swingably connected to the other end of the first link plate and the other end of the second link plate, wherein, when the carriage is disposed at one end of the base plate, the movable plate is swingably disposed between a closed position where the shoji screen is housed inside the window frame and a first push-out position where the shoji screen is pushed out in one direction from the window frame; and when the carriage slides from one end of the base plate towards the connection portion between the base plate and the second link plate, the movable plate is disposed at a second push-out position where the shoji screen is pushed out in the one direction from the window frame further than the first push-out position, and the stopper member has a main body portion extending along the length of the base plate, a tubular portion disposed at one end of the main body portion and through which the base plate is inserted so that the main body portion is disposed on the back side of the base plate, and a release button disposed at the other end of the main body portion and displaceable between an engagement position where the main body portion protrudes from the opening onto the surface of the base plate and a release position where the main body portion is depressed and recessed into the opening; and the carriage is held non-slidably between the tubular portion of the stopper member at the one end of the base plate and the release button when the release button is disposed at the engagement position, and is slidable past the release button toward the connection portion between the base plate and the second link plate when the release button is disposed at the release position. [0010] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a casement window 1 is configured to have a window frame 2, a shoji screen 3, and a pair of window stays 4, 4. The casement window 1 shown in this embodiment is an example of a horizontal sliding window configured to open the window opening by pushing the lower end of the shoji screen 3 toward the outside X1 so that the shoji screen 3 slopes downward toward the outside X1. However, the casement window of the present disclosure is not limited to a horizontal sliding window, and may be a vertical sliding window configured to open the window opening by pushing either the left or right end of the shoji screen toward the outside X1.

[0011] Here, the directions indicated by arrows in the diagram will be defined. The X1-X2 direction is the depth direction of the casement window 1, and indicates the indoor / outdoor direction with the window frame 2 as the boundary. X1 is the outdoor side, and X2 is the indoor side. The Y1-Y2 direction is the left-right direction of the casement window 1. Y1 is the right side when the casement window 1 is viewed from the indoor side X2, and Y2 is the left side when the casement window 1 is viewed from the indoor side X2. The Z1-Z2 direction indicates the up-down direction of the casement window 1. Z1 is the upper side, and Z2 is the lower side.

[0012] The window frame 2 is formed by framing an upper frame 21, a lower frame 22, and left and right vertical frames 23, 23 in a rectangular shape. The upper frame 21, the lower frame 22, and the left and right vertical frames 23, 23 are each made of extruded shapes extruded from a metal material such as aluminum. A rectangular cylindrical frame member 24 is attached to the inside of the window frame 2 around all four sides, protruding toward the interior side X2.

[0013] The shoji screen 3 is constructed by fitting a surface material 34, such as glass, inside a frame body 30, which is made up of an upper frame 31, a lower frame 32, and left and right vertical frames 33, 33 assembled into a rectangular frame. A lock handle 35, which serves as a grip for a user to open or close the shoji screen 3 from the inside X2, is rotatably attached to the inside X2 of the lower frame 32. A lock portion 351 is provided at the tip of the lock handle 35. The lock handle 35 locks the shoji screen 3 in the closed position by engaging the lock portion 351 with a recess 242 provided in the lower frame portion 241 of the frame member 24 (see Figure 16). The window stay 4 shown in this embodiment is an example of an application of a cam latch specification that pushes or pulls the lock handle 35, but is not limited to this. The window stay can also be applied to casement windows that open or close the shoji screen using a rotatable operator handle.

[0014] The window stays 4 are attached across the left and right vertical frames 23, 23 of the window frame 2 and the left and right vertical stiles 33, 33 of the shoji screen 3, respectively, and support the shoji screen 3 so that it can be opened and closed inside the window frame 2. The two window stays 4, 4 provided on the casement window 1 have the same structure except that they are symmetrical on the left and right. Therefore, the following description will focus on the window stay 4 of the two window stays 4, 4 that is located on the left side Y2 when the casement window 1 is viewed from the inside X2 of the room.

[0015] The window stay 4 can position the shoji screen 3 in three positions: a closed position, a first push-out position, and a second push-out position, by the user operating the lock handle 35 to open or close the shoji screen 3. The closed position is a position where the shoji screen 3 closes the window opening (see FIG. 16). The first push-out position is a position where the lower end of the shoji screen 3 is pushed obliquely toward the outside X1 so that the shoji screen 3 slopes downward toward the outside X1 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). The closed position and the first push-out position of the shoji screen 3 indicate the open and closed positions of the shoji screen 3 when the casement window 1 is normally used. The second push-out position is a position where the lower end of the shoji screen 3 is pushed further toward the outside X1 than the first push-out position (see FIG. 14). The second push-out position indicates the position of the shoji screen 3 in cleaning mode when cleaning the shoji screen 3.

[0016] The window stay 4 is configured to include a base plate 41, a first link plate 42, a second link plate 43, a movable plate 44, a carriage 45, and a stopper member 46. The base plate 41, the first link plate 42, the second link plate 43, and the movable plate 44 are all formed from metal plates.

[0017] The base plate 41 constitutes the attachment portion of the window stay 4 to the vertical frame 23 of the window frame 2. The base plate 41 is formed in the shape of the longest plate among the four plates 41 to 44 of the window stay 4. Because the casement window 1 of this embodiment is exemplified as a horizontal sliding window, the base plate 41 is arranged along the extension direction of the vertical frame 23 of the window frame 2. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the base plate 41 is fixed to the inner surface 23a, which is the visible surface of the vertical frame 23 of the window frame 2, by flat head screws 4a that pass through multiple screw holes 41a arranged along the length direction.

[0018] 5, two notches 411 are formed in one end (upper end) of the base plate 41. The notches 411 are formed by cutting out rectangular shapes from both side edges 41b, 41b of the base plate 41 along the length direction.

[0019] 2 to 5, a vertically long rectangular opening 412 is formed on one end side (upper end side) of the base plate 41, penetrating the base plate 41. The opening 412 is located close to the cutout portion 411 and closer to the other end side (lower end side) of the base plate 41 than the cutout portion 411.

[0020] The first link plate 42 is formed in the shape of the shortest plate among the four plates 41 to 44 of the window stay 4. One end of the first link plate 42 is swingably connected to the carriage 45. The configuration of a connection portion C2 between the first link plate 42 and the carriage 45 will be described later.

[0021] The second link plate 43 is formed in the shape of the second longest plate among the four plates 41 to 44 of the window stay 4. One end of the second link plate 43 is swingably connected to the other end (lower end) of the base plate 41 at a connection part C1, and the other end is swingably connected to the other end side of the movable plate 44 at a connection part C4.

[0022] The movable plate 44 constitutes the attachment portion of the window stay 4 to the shoji screen 3. The movable plate 44 is formed in the shape of a plate that is the third longest of the four plates 41 to 44 of the window stay 4. Since the casement window 1 of this embodiment is exemplified as a horizontal sliding window, the movable plate 44 is arranged along the extension direction of the vertical frame 33 of the shoji screen 3.

[0023] One end of the movable plate 44 is swingably connected to the other end of the first link plate 42 (the end opposite the end connected to the carriage 45) at connection part C3. The movable plate 44 is swingably connected to the other end of the second link plate 43 (the end opposite the end connected to the base plate 41) at connection part C4, which is located at a position midway in the longitudinal direction and closer to the other end. The movable plate 44 is fixed to the outer surface 33a, which is the visible surface of the vertical frame 33 of the shoji screen 3, as shown in Figures 1 and 3, by screws 4b that pass through multiple screw holes 44a arranged along the longitudinal direction.

[0024] The carriage 45 is attached to the base plate 41 so as to be slidable along the length of the base plate 41. In normal use, when the shoji screen 3 is opened or closed between the closed position and the first push-out position, the carriage 45 is positioned at one end (upper end) of the base plate 41 as shown in Figs. 1 to 4, and is held in that position by a stopper member 46 described later.

[0025] 5, the carriage 45 is configured to have a resin carriage body 451, a metal plate member 452, and a resin cover member 453. The carriage 45 has a structure that is symmetrical in the width direction (the indoor / outdoor direction X1-X2). Therefore, the carriage 45 can be used on either the left or right vertical frame 23, 23 of the window frame 2 without distinction.

[0026] The carriage body 451 is formed in the shape of a rectangular plate. As shown in Fig. 5, a mounting recess 4511 for mounting a metal plate member 452 is formed on the front side of the carriage body 451 (the side facing away from the base plate 41). The mounting recess 4511 is recessed to match the outer shape of the metal plate member 452. A step 4511a is formed on the lower end side of the mounting recess 4511, making the mounting recess 4511 one step higher than the base plate 41. Two screw insertion holes 4512 and two cover member mounting holes 4513 are formed in the step 4511a, each penetrating the carriage body 451 from the front to the back.

[0027] 6, four L-shaped legs 4514 are provided on the rear side (the side facing the base plate 41) of the carriage body 451. The four L-shaped legs 4514 are arranged at the four corners of the rear side of the carriage body 451. The carriage body 451 is arranged on the front surface 41c of the base plate 41 by inserting one end side (upper end side) of the base plate 41 into the four L-shaped legs 4514. The four L-shaped legs 4514 embrace both side edges 41b, 41b of the base plate 41 from the front and back, and attach the carriage body 451 to the base plate 41 so that it can slide along the length direction.

[0028] 6, an accommodating recess 4515 capable of accommodating a tip 463a of a release button 463 (described later) is formed at the lower end on the rear surface side of the carriage body 451. The accommodating recess 4515 opens to the lower end surface 451a of the carriage body 451.

[0029] The metal plate member 452 is attached to the attachment recess 4511 of the carriage body 451, and connects one end of the first link plate 42 in a swingable manner. As shown in FIG. 7, the metal plate member 452 integrally includes a connection plate portion 4521 that forms the connection portion with the first link plate 42, and an attachment plate portion 4522 that forms the attachment portion with the carriage body 451. The attachment plate portion 4522 is disposed adjacent to the lower end side of the connection plate portion 4521, via a bent portion 4520 that extends in the width direction (indoor-outdoor direction X1-X2) of the metal plate member 452. The bent portion 4520 makes the attachment plate portion 4522 one step higher than the connection plate portion 4521 relative to the base plate 41.

[0030] The connecting plate portion 4521 is formed with a circular hole 4521a and a cylindrical portion 4521b that protrudes from the periphery of the circular hole 4521a toward the opposite side to the base plate 41.

[0031] The mounting plate portion 4522 has two screw holes 4523 and two rectangular cutout portions 4524. The positions of the two screw holes 4523 correspond to the positions of the two screw insertion holes 4512 of the carriage body 451. A female thread is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the screw holes 4523. The positions of the two cutout portions 4524 correspond to the positions of the two cover member mounting holes 4513 of the carriage body 451.

[0032] 5, the metal plate member 452 is accommodated so as to fit within the mounting recess 4511 of the carriage body 451. The mounting plate portion 4522 of the metal plate member 452 is disposed on a step portion 4511a of the mounting recess 4511. The metal plate member 452 accommodated in the mounting recess 4511 is fixed to the carriage body 451 from the rear surface side of the carriage body 451 by two screws 45a that pass through the screw insertion holes 4512 and screw into the screw holes 4523.

[0033] 8, the cover member 453 has a rectangular plate-shaped cover member main body 4531, two mounting claws 4532 protruding from a back surface 453a of the cover member main body 4531, a plurality of protrusions 4533, and two recesses 4534. The cover member main body 4531 is sized to cover the step portion 4511a in the mounting recess 4511 of the carriage body 451. The positions of the two mounting claws 4532 correspond to the positions of the two cover member mounting holes 4513 of the carriage body 451.

[0034] The cover member 453 of this embodiment is provided with three protrusions 4533. The three protrusions 4533 are arranged near each of the two mounting claws 4532 on the back surface 453a of the cover member main body 4531 and between the two mounting claws 4532. The two protrusions 4533 arranged near the two mounting claws 4532 are small protrusions, and the one protrusion 4533 arranged between the two mounting claws 4532 is a long protrusion that extends along the up-down direction (Z1-Z2) of the cover member main body 4531.

[0035] The two recesses 4534 are formed in a rectangular shape on the rear surface 453a of the cover member main body 4531. The positions of the two recesses 4534 correspond to the positions of the two screw holes 4523 of the metal plate member 452.

[0036] As shown in FIG. 5 , the cover member 453 is disposed on the carriage body 451 after the metal plate member 452 is attached so as to cover the mounting plate portion 4522 of the metal plate member 452. The two mounting claws 4532 are inserted into the notches 4524 of the metal plate member 452 and are engaged with the two cover member mounting holes 4513 of the carriage body 451. The three protrusions 4533 abut against the mounting plate portion 4522 and maintain a constant distance between the mounting plate portion 4522 and the cover member body 4531. This allows the cover member 453 to be stably attached to the carriage body 451. Because the cover member body 4531 has two recesses 4534, even if the shafts of the two screws 45a protrude from the mounting plate portion 4522, interference between the shafts and the cover member body 4531 is avoided. The cover member 453 attached to the carriage body 451 in this manner covers and conceals the mounting plate portion 4522 to which the metal plate member 452 is attached, thereby improving the design of the carriage 45.

[0037] Although not shown, the carriage 45 may be an integrally molded product in which the metal plate member 452 and the carriage body 451 are integrally insert-molded. There is no need to attach the metal plate member 452 to the carriage body 451 using fixing members such as screws 45a, and the cover member 453 is also unnecessary, which further improves the assembly workability and design of the window stay 4.

[0038] Furthermore, although not shown, the carriage 45 may be integrated by resin caulking the metal plate member 452 to the carriage body 451. A specific resin caulking method, for example, is to insert a convex portion formed on the carriage body 451 into a hole formed in the metal plate member 452, and then melt the convex portion protruding from the hole by heat or ultrasonic waves, thereby fixing the metal plate member 452 to the carriage body 451. In this case, too, there is no need to attach the metal plate member 452 to the carriage body 451 using a fixing member such as the screw 45a, and therefore the structure of the carriage 45 is simplified.

[0039] As shown in FIG. 5, the stopper member 46 is a resin part that integrally includes a main body portion 461, a cylindrical portion 462, and a release button 463.

[0040] The main body portion 461 is formed in a plate shape extending along the longitudinal direction of the base plate 41. When the stopper member 46 is attached to the base plate 41, the main body portion 461 is disposed on the rear surface 41d of the base plate 41 (the surface facing the inner surface 23a of the vertical frame 23). A recess 4611 is formed along the longitudinal direction of the main body portion 461 on the front surface 461a of the main body portion 461 (the surface facing the base plate 41).

[0041] A screw insertion hole 4612 is formed in the recess 4611, through which a flat head screw 4a for fixing the base plate 41 to the vertical frame 23 is inserted. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 11 , the position of the screw insertion hole 4612 corresponds to the position of the screw hole 41a1, which is located on the lower side Z2, of the two screw holes 41a1 and 41a2 located at one end (upper end) of the base plate 41. As shown in FIG. 11 , the periphery of this screw hole 41a1 is formed to protrude conically from the back surface 41d of the base plate 41. As a result, the screw hole 41a1 is formed to be recessed conically in the front surface 41c of the base plate 41. As shown in FIG. 11 , the recess 4611 of the main body 461 is formed to avoid interference between the main body 461 and the screw hole 41a1 protruding from the back surface 41d of the base plate 41 when the stopper member 46 is attached to the base plate 41.

[0042] The cylindrical portion 462 is disposed at one end (upper end) of the main body portion 461. The cylindrical portion 462 is provided so as to protrude toward the surface 461a side of the main body portion 461. A rectangular insertion hole 4621 is formed inside the cylindrical portion 462, through which the base plate 41 is inserted from the surface 461a side of the main body portion 461.

[0043] Two locking protrusions 4622 are provided on the inner side of the cylindrical portion 462, protruding toward the insertion hole 4621. The two locking protrusions 4622 are arranged on the inner side of the cylindrical portion 462 so as to protrude toward the base plate 41 inserted into the cylindrical portion 462. More specifically, the two locking protrusions 4622 are arranged on the inner side of the cylindrical portion 462 so as to protrude toward the base plate 41 from the same surface as the surface 461a of the main body portion 461. The two locking protrusions 4622 are arranged at a fixed interval in the width direction (indoor / outdoor direction X1-X2) of the stopper member 46. The separation distance between the two locking protrusions 4622 corresponds to the separation distance between the two cutout portions 411 of the base plate 41. An inclined surface 4622a is formed on the surface of the locking protrusion 4622, the protruding height of which gradually decreases toward the lower side Z2, as shown in FIG. 10 .

[0044] As shown in Figs. 5 and 9, a restricting protrusion 4623 protrudes from a part of the surface 462a of the tubular portion 462 (the surface facing away from the base plate 41 inserted into the tubular portion 462). The restricting protrusion 4623 is disposed closer to the indoor side X2 than the center of the surface 462a of the tubular portion 462 in the width direction (indoor-outdoor direction X1-X2). A side surface 4623a of the restricting protrusion 4623 on the outdoor side X1 forms an inclined surface that gradually slopes toward the indoor side X2 from the upper end to the lower end of the tubular portion 462. A convex portion 4623b protruding toward the outdoor side X1 is formed on a part of the side surface 4623a.

[0045] 10, screw insertion holes 4624, 4625 are formed in the front surface 462a and the back surface 462b of the tubular portion 462. The screw insertion holes 4624, 4625 are arranged concentrically. The screw insertion hole 4624 formed in the front surface 462a of the tubular portion 462 has a larger diameter than the screw insertion hole 4625 formed in the back surface 462b.

[0046] The release button 463 is disposed at the lower end of the main body 461. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 11, the main body 461 has a rectangular hole 4613 penetrating the main body 461 at the lower end side of the recess 4611. The release button 463 is formed integrally with the lower end 461b of the main body 461 and extends vertically through the hole 4613 from the lower end 461b toward the cylindrical portion 462 disposed on the upper side Z1. The release button 463 is formed so that its protrusion height from the surface 461a gradually increases from the connection portion with the lower end 461b toward the cylindrical portion 462. When a tip 463a (upper end) disposed on the cylindrical portion 462 side is pressed down, the release button 463 is elastically displaceable toward the hole 4613, with the connection portion with the lower end 461b as a fulcrum. When the release button 463 is released from the depressed state, the release button 463 elastically returns to the state shown in FIG.

[0047] As shown in FIGS. 5, 11, and 12, the release button 463 has an extending portion 4631 that extends further downward Z2 than the lower end portion 461b of the main body portion 462. Meanwhile, a step portion 4121 that protrudes toward the back surface 41d of the base plate 41 is formed on the lower end side of the opening 412 of the base plate 41. As shown in FIGS. 11 and 12, the extending portion 4631 of the release button 463 is received in the step portion 4121 of the opening 412 from the front surface 41c side of the base plate 41. As a result, when the tip portion 463a of the release button 463 is pressed down and elastically displaced toward the hole portion 4613, the extending portion 4631 side of the release button 463 engages with the step portion 4121, thereby preventing displacement. Therefore, the release button 463 can be pressed down stably.

[0048] The stopper member 46 is attached to the base plate 41 by inserting one end (upper end) of the base plate 41, after the carriage 45 is slidably attached, into the insertion hole 4621 of the tubular portion 462. The main body portion 461 is arranged along the back surface 41d of the base plate 41. The release button 463 is fitted into the opening 412 of the base plate 41 from the back surface 41d side and is arranged so as to protrude from the front surface 41c of the base plate 41. The stopper member 46 is temporarily fixed to the base plate 41 by the engagement of the two locking protrusions 4622 with the two cutout portions 411 of the base plate 41.

[0049] The base plate 41, to which the carriage 45 and the stopper member 46 are attached, is fixed to the inner surface 23a of the vertical frame 23 of the window frame 2 by a plurality of flat head screws 4a. As shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 , the flat head screws 4a inserted into the conical screw holes 41a1 of the base plate 41 pass through screw insertion holes 4612 of the stopper member 46 and are attached flush with the surface 41c of the base plate 41. The flat head screws 4a that secure the extreme end (upper end) of the base plate 41 pass through screw insertion holes 4624 on the surface 462a of the cylindrical portion 462 of the stopper member 46 and are inserted into the screw holes 41a2 of the base plate 41, and pass through screw insertion holes 4625 on the back surface 462b of the cylindrical portion 462 of the stopper member 46. In this way, the stopper member 46 is fixed to the base plate 41.

[0050] 11, during normal use, the carriage 45 is disposed between a tubular portion 462 of a stopper member 46 fixed to the base plate 41 and a release button 463. A tip portion 463a of the release button 463 fits into an accommodating recess 4515 of the carriage body 451. As a result, the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46 reliably prevents the carriage 45 from slipping upward from the base plate 41, and the release button 463 of the stopper member 46 prevents the carriage 45 from sliding along the base plate 41 in a direction away from the stopper member 46 (downward Z2). Therefore, the carriage 45 is held between the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46 and the release button 463 so as not to be able to slide.

[0051] Next, the configuration of the connection portions of the plates 41 to 44 in the window stay 4 will be described.

[0052] 13 shows the configuration of connection portion C1 between the other end (lower end) of the base plate 41 and one end of the second link plate 43. At connection portion C1, threaded holes 41a, 43a are formed in the base plate 41 and the second link plate 43, respectively, through which flat head screws 4a are inserted to secure the window stay 4 to the inner surface 23a of the vertical frame 23. A cylindrical portion 413 that protrudes toward the side opposite the vertical frame 23 is formed around the threaded hole 41a in the base plate 41. At connection portion C1, the base plate 41 and the second link plate 43 are connected to each other by a caulking member 47 so that they can swing relative to each other.

[0053] The crimping member 47 is configured to include a resin convex washer 471, a resin annular washer 472, and a metal rivet 473. The convex washer 471 has a cylindrical portion 4711 and a flange portion 4712 provided on the outer periphery of the cylindrical portion 4711. The convex washer 471 is assembled to the base plate 41 by externally fitting the cylindrical portion 4711 onto the cylindrical portion 413 of the base plate 41. The second link plate 43 is assembled to the base plate 41 by externally fitting the screw hole 43a onto the cylindrical portion 4711 of the convex washer 471.

[0054] Next, a rivet 473 is driven into the threaded hole 43a of the second link plate 43 by a jig (not shown), with an annular washer 472 sandwiched between them. The rivet 473 is pressed against the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 413 of the base plate 41 and fixed by crimping. This allows the base plate 41 and the second link plate 43 to be connected to each other so as to be able to swing relative to each other.

[0055] In this way, connection portion C1 between base plate 41 and second link plate 43 constitutes a connection portion between metals. Although not shown, connection portion C3 between first link plate 42 and movable plate 44 and connection portion C4 between second link plate 43 and movable plate 44 are also connection portions between metals similar to the configuration of connection portion C1 between base plate 41 and second link plate 43, and are connected to each other by crimping member 47 so as to be able to swing relative to each other.

[0056] As shown in FIG. 5, the connection portion C2 between the first link plate 42 and the carriage 45 is formed by connecting the first link plate 42 and a metal plate member 452 of the carriage 45 with a crimping member 48 so that they can swing relative to each other.

[0057] The crimping member 48 is configured to include a resin convex washer 481, a resin annular washer 482, and a metal rivet 483. The convex washer 481 has a cylindrical portion 4811 and a flange portion 4812 provided on the outer periphery of the cylindrical portion 4811. The convex washer 481 is assembled to the metal plate member 452 of the carriage 45 by externally fitting the cylindrical portion 4811 onto the cylindrical portion 4521b of the metal plate member 452.

[0058] One end of first link plate 42, which is disposed at connection portion C2, is formed with connection hole 42a that can be externally fitted onto cylindrical portion 4811 of convex washer 481. First link plate 42 is assembled to metal plate member 452 by externally fitting connection hole 42a onto cylindrical portion 4811 of convex washer 481. The other end of first link plate 42 is disposed at connection portion C3 with movable plate 44. The other end of first link plate 42, at connection portion C3, is formed with connection hole 42b that can be externally fitted onto cylindrical portion 4711 of convex washer 471 of crimping member 47 shown in FIG.

[0059] Next, a rivet 483 is driven into the connecting hole 42a of the first link plate 42 by a jig (not shown), with an annular washer 482 sandwiched therebetween. The rivet 483 is pressed against the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 4521b of the metal plate member 452 and is fixed by crimping. This allows the first link plate 42 and the carriage 45 to be connected to each other so as to be able to swing relative to each other.

[0060] In this way, the rivet 483 is fixed by crimping to the metal part, but not to the resin part, so the connection C2 between the first link plate 42 and the carriage 45 also forms a connection part between metal parts, just like the other connection parts C1, C3, and C4. Therefore, the quality of the connection parts C1 to C4 is unified. As a result, the window stay 4 can stably open and close the shoji screen 3 for a long period of time.

[0061] Next, the operation of the window stay 4 when the shoji screen 3 is opened to the second push-out position and placed in the cleaning mode will be described.

[0062] To open the shoji screen 3 to the second push position, the user presses the release button 463, which is located at an engagement position protruding from the opening 412 of the base plate 41 onto the surface 41c, to release the engagement between the release button 463 and the carriage body 451. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 12, when the release button 463 is pressed, the release button 463 elastically displaces around the connection point between the stopper member 46 and the lower end 461b of the main body 461, disengaging the tip 463a from the receiving recess 4515. The pressed release button 463 enters the hole 4613 of the main body 461 and displaces from the engagement position to the release position where it is recessed in the opening 412 and flush with the surface 461a of the main body 461. This allows the carriage 45 to pass the release button 463 and slide along the base plate 41 away from the stopper member 46.

[0063] In this state, if the user pushes in the lock handle 35 and further pushes the lower end of the shoji screen 3 toward the outside X1, the shoji screen 3 assumes a horizontal or nearly horizontal position, as shown in FIG. 14. In conjunction with this shoji screen 3, the movable plate 44 attached to the vertical stile 33 of the shoji screen 3 swings to a horizontal or nearly horizontal position, with the connection point C4 with the second link plate 43 as a fulcrum. As a result, as shown in FIG. 15, the movable plate 44 slides the carriage 45 along the base plate 41 via the first link plate 42, moving it in a direction away from the stopper member 46. The countersunk screw 4a placed in the conical screw hole 41a1 of the base plate 41 is flush with the surface 41c of the base plate 41, so that the carriage 45 does not interfere with the countersunk screw 4a when sliding.

[0064] 2 to 4 and 15, a positioning protrusion 414 that regulates the lower end position in the sliding direction of the carriage 45 is formed in the middle of the length of the base plate 41. The carriage 45, which slides on the base plate 41, comes into contact with the positioning protrusion 414 and stops. Therefore, the position of the connection part C3 is located on the lower side Z2 than the positions of the connection parts C2 and C4, and the first link plate 42 and the movable plate 44 are prevented from being arranged in an inverted V shape.

[0065] When the user pulls the lock handle 35 of the shoji screen 3 toward the inside X2, the shoji screen 3 is placed in the closed position as shown in FIG. 16. At this time, the carriage 45 is again held immovably between the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46 and the release button 463 as shown in FIG. 17. When the shoji screen 3 is placed in the closed position, the first link plate 42 swings toward the inside X2, with the connection portion C2 with the carriage 45 as the fulcrum. As a result, the first link plate 42 overlaps the surface 462a of the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46 and is positioned close to the side surface 4623a and the convex portion 4623b of the restricting protrusion 4623 formed on the tubular portion 462. Therefore, even if the first link plate 42 attempts to swing further toward the inside X2, with the connection portion C2 with the carriage 45 as the fulcrum, it is prevented from doing so by abutting against the side surface 4623a or the convex portion 4623b of the restricting protrusion 4623.

[0066] However, the convex portion 4623b does not have to be provided on the restricting protrusion 4623. The restricting protrusion 4623 does not have to be provided on the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46. This makes the stopper member 46 symmetrical in the width direction (indoor-outdoor direction X1-X2), and therefore it can be used on either of the left and right vertical frames 23, 23 of the window frame 2 without distinction.

[0067] The window stay 4 and casement window 1 of this embodiment have the following advantages.

[0068] That is, the window stay 4 comprises a base plate 41 that constitutes an attachment part to the window frame 2, a carriage 45 that is provided slidably along the length of the base plate 41, a first link plate 42 that is swingably connected to the carriage 45 at one end, a second link plate 43 that is swingably connected to the base plate 41 at one end, and movable plates 44 that constitute an attachment part to the shoji screen 3 that is housed in the window frame 2 and are swingably connected to the other end of the first link plate 42 and the other end of the second link plate 43, respectively. When the carriage 45 is disposed at one end of the base plate 41, the movable plate 44 is provided so as to be swingable between a closed position where the shoji screen 3 is housed inside the window frame 2 and a first pushing position where the shoji screen 3 is pushed out in one direction from the window frame 2, and when the carriage 45 is slid from one end of the base plate 41 towards the connection C1 between the base plate 41 and the second link plate 43, the movable plate 44 is disposed at a second pushing position where the shoji screen 3 is pushed out in one direction from the window frame 2 further than the first pushing position. An opening 412 penetrating the base plate 41 is provided at one end of the stopper 41, and a stopper member 46 for holding the carriage 45 at one end of the base plate 41 is attached. The stopper member 46 comprises a main body 461 extending along the length of the base plate 41, a cylindrical portion 462 disposed at one end of the main body 461 and through which the base plate 41 is inserted so that the main body 461 is disposed on the rear surface 41d side of the base plate 41, and a cylindrical portion 462 disposed at the other end of the main body 461 and through which the opening 412 penetrates the front surface 41a of the base plate 41. and a release button 463 that is displaceable between an engagement position where it protrudes into opening 412 and a release position where it is depressed and sinks into opening 412. When the release button 463 is in the engagement position, the carriage 45 is held non-slidably between the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46 at one end of the base plate 41 and the release button 463, and when the release button 463 is in the release position, the carriage 45 is slidably held through the release button 463 toward the connection portion C1 between the base plate 41 and the second link plate 43.

[0069] According to this, when assembling the window stay 4, the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46, which is attached to the base plate 41 together with the carriage 45, can prevent the carriage 45 from slipping out of the base plate 41, so there is no need to machine a protrusion or the like on the base plate 41 to prevent the carriage 45 from slipping out after the carriage 45 is attached to the base plate 41. This improves the productivity of the window stay 4.

[0070] In the window stay 4, a locking protrusion 4622 is provided on the inside of the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46, and a notch portion 411 that engages with the locking protrusion 4622 is provided at one end of the base plate 41.When the base plate 41 is inserted into the inside of the tubular portion 462, the locking protrusion 4622 engages with the notch portion 411, and the stopper member 46 is temporarily fixed to the base plate 41.

[0071] This allows the stopper member 46 to be temporarily fixed to the base plate 41 until the base plate 41 is attached to the window frame 2 together with the stopper member 46, thereby further improving the productivity of the window stay 4.

[0072] In the window stay 4, the stopper member 46 is a resin part that integrally includes a main body portion 461, a cylindrical portion 462, and a release button 463.

[0073] This allows the stopper member 46 to be manufactured easily and inexpensively, and can be attached to the base plate 41 easily.

[0074] The casement window 1 comprises a window frame 2, a shoji screen 3 that can be opened and closed and fitted inside the window frame 2, and the above-mentioned window stay 4, with the base plate 41 of the window stay 4 attached to the visible surface of the window frame 2 (the inner surface 23a of the vertical frame 23) and the movable plate 44 attached to the visible surface of the shoji screen 3 (the outer surface 33a of the vertical frame 33).

[0075] According to this, when assembling the window stay 4 for the casement window 1, the tubular portion 462 of the stopper member 46, which is attached to the base plate 41 together with the carriage 45, can prevent the carriage 45 from slipping out of the base plate 41, so there is no need to process a protrusion or the like on the base plate 41 to prevent the carriage 45 from slipping out after the carriage 45 is attached to the base plate 41. This improves the productivity of the casement window 1.
