Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of a device for fastening a sound-absorbing deflector (also called a sound-absorbing baffle) to a plastic material tank for a motor vehicle, and to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle equipped with a sound-absorbing deflector, more particularly to a sound-absorbing component for a plastic material tank for a motor vehicle, comprising at least a deflector and a fastening device for said sound-absorbing deflector, the fastening device being adapted to be fastened to the plastic material tank for a motor vehicle.
[0002] The invention also relates to a plastics material tank for a motor vehicle comprising said sound deadening component. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing a plastics material tank for a motor vehicle. [Background technology]
[0003] Conventionally, in the case of tanks made of plastic material obtained by extrusion blow molding of parisons, a sound absorbing device with a deflector is fixed in the tank of the plastic material. This component, also called a sound absorbing baffle, aims to reduce the noise associated with rippling (often called "slosh noise" in English) that may occur in the tank during rapid acceleration, braking or steering of the vehicle. The expression "baffles anti-slosh" is also used in the industry terminology.
[0004] It is well known that plastic fuel tanks are subject to dimensional changes during their life cycle, from the moment they are removed from the mold, whether due to cooling associated with the removal of the material, overpressure or underpressure caused by the contents during use, thermal expansion during their life cycle, or even deterioration over time.
[0005] The sound-absorbing component must therefore be effectively fixed to the tank wall, especially when the tank is under negative pressure, i.e. when the pressure inside the tank is lower than the pressure outside the tank. In patent document 1, a sound-absorbing component is described, which comprises a fastening device at at least one end thereof and a deflector adapted to cooperate with the fluid contained in a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle in order to suppress the turbulent noise of said fluid, the fastening device being of the dovetail type. Such a fastening device of the dovetail type comprises a first rib system, called an insertion rib, adapted to be inserted by sliding into a sliding track consisting of a projection on the tank wall. Such a device has the important drawback that it does not allow for an effective fastening of the sound-absorbing component and complicates the manufacture of the tank. In fact, the device requires that the tank comprises interference portions protruding from its upper surface and its lower surface towards the tank interior, arranged substantially opposite each other with a predetermined distance therebetween, a first of said interference portions being molded integrally with the tank wall having a flat surface and a dome shape, and a sound-absorbing component being arranged such that a second of said interference portions forms part of said sound-absorbing component, said first interference portion being connected with said second interference portion in order to eliminate deformation of the tank when it is subjected to a negative pressure.
[0006] Patent document 2 describes a fastening system for hollow bodies such as vehicle fuel tanks, which comprises wings adapted to slide in grooves formed by the tank walls and winglets adapted to prevent sliding of the fastening system in the removal direction once the fastening device is attached to the fuel tank. [0007] [Patent Document 1] EP 2321139 [Patent Document 2] FR 2 952 142 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0008] The present invention has a particular object to remedy such shortcomings of the prior art. [Means for solving the problem]
[0009] The present invention therefore aims to provide a fixing device for a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, which cooperates with a fluid contained in the tank to suppress the sloshing noise of the fluid, and which allows for an effective and easy fixing of the deflector, and thus of the sound-deadening component, to the tank whilst simplifying the manufacture of the tank.
[0010] The present invention further aims, at least in one of its embodiments, to provide a sound-absorbing component including a deflector, and a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle including the sound-absorbing component.
[0011] Another object of the invention, at least in one of its embodiments, is the use of a method for manufacturing a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle.
[0012] According to one particular embodiment, the invention relates to a device for fastening a deflector to a plastic material tank for a motor vehicle, the deflector being adapted to cooperate with a fluid contained in the tank to suppress sloshing noise of the fluid.
[0013] According to the invention, such a fastening device comprises a first rib system, the first end of which has at least two ribs, called insertion ribs, extending opposite to one another, which are configured to be inserted by sliding into a sliding track consisting of a protrusion on the wall of the tank, and a second rib system, the first end of which is configured to be located outside the sliding track, the second rib system having at least two ribs, called retention ribs, extending opposite to one another, each retention rib of the second rib system being configured to support the tank wall and in particular to keep the fastening device in a predetermined position when the tank is deformed, more particularly when the tank is deformed under negative pressure, the insertion rib and the retention rib being configured in such a way that when the fastening device is fastened to the tank, at least one protrusion on the wall of the tank forming the sliding track is axially sandwiched between the insertion rib and the retention rib.
[0014] The general principle of the invention is supported by the presence of a second rib system arranged to be located outside the sliding track, comprising at least two ribs, referred to as retaining ribs, extending opposite to each other, each retaining rib of the second rib system arranged to support the tank wall and to keep the fastening device in a predetermined position, in particular when the tank is deformed, more particularly when the tank is deformed under negative pressure. In particular, the invention is based on the fact that the insert rib and the retaining rib are arranged in such a way that when the fastening device is fixed to the tank, at least one protrusion of the tank wall forming the sliding track is sandwiched axially between them, such that at least one protrusion of the tank wall forming the sliding track is sandwiched between them when the tank is deformed, in particular when the tank is deformed under negative pressure.
[0015] The invention is therefore based on a completely new inventive approach to a fixing device for a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for motor vehicles, intended to cooperate with the fluid contained therein and to suppress the sloshing noise of said fluid. The fixing device according to the invention can be easily fixed in the tank by simply sliding in a sliding track. This fixing method is also effective, since it prevents the fixing device from coming off from the wall to which it is fixed when the tank is deformed. More specifically, it prevents the fixing device from coming off from the wall to which it is fixed when the tank is deformed by a negative pressure which causes the projections of the sliding track to separate. During deformation, the second rib system comprises at least two ribs, called retaining ribs, which extend opposite to each other, each retaining rib of the second rib system being preferably arranged to bear against a projection of the sliding track so as to bear against the wall of the tank when the tank is deformed. More specifically, the second rib system comprises at least two ribs, referred to as retaining ribs, extending oppositely from each other, each retaining rib of the second rib system being preferably configured to support a projection forming a sliding track so as to support the wall of the tank when the tank is deformed under negative pressure.
[0016] The expression "the first rib system is adapted to be slidingly inserted into a sliding track consisting of a protrusion in the tank wall" means that the first rib system having at least two ribs slides inside the sliding track consisting of a protrusion in the wall. The sliding track is preferably one piece, i.e. it is continuous over its length along the sliding axis. The protrusions of the sliding track preferably take the form of wall folds.
[0017] The expression "oppositely extending insertion ribs" means that at least two insertion ribs forming a first rib system are located on either side of a central portion of the first end of the fastening device, and that the extension axes of the at least two ribs originating from the central portion of the fastening device are parallel to each other, and preferably the axes are congruent.
[0018] During insertion, the second rib system is located outside the sliding track. The second rib system comprises at least two ribs, called retention ribs, extending oppositely to one another. The expression "at least two ribs, called retention ribs, extending oppositely to one another" means that the at least two retention ribs of the second rib system are located on either side of a central part of the first end of the fastening device, and that the extension axes of the at least two ribs originating from the central part of the fastening device are parallel to one another and preferably are coaxial.
[0019] The expression "each retaining rib of the second rib system is configured to support the tank wall and to maintain the fixing device in a predetermined position, in particular when the tank is deformed, more particularly when the tank is deformed under negative pressure" means that there is mechanical play between the at least two retaining ribs and the tank wall, preferably between the at least two retaining ribs and the protrusion forming the upper part of the sliding track.
[0020] The expression "the insert rib and the retaining rib are configured such that, when the fixing device is fixed to the tank, at least one protrusion on the tank wall forming the sliding track is axially sandwiched between the insert rib and the retaining rib" means that the insert rib, the protrusion on the tank wall forming the sliding track, and the retaining rib are arranged in order along the direction of the central axis of the fixing device. With this arrangement, the protrusion on the tank wall forming the sliding track is axially sandwiched between the insert rib and the retaining rib when the tank is deformed, more specifically, when the tank is deformed under negative pressure.
[0021] Such a fastening device therefore allows for effective and easy fastening and increases the tank's ability to adapt to dimensional changes.
[0022] Advantageously, the device according to the invention for fastening a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, intended to cooperate with a fluid contained therein and to suppress the sloshing noise of said fluid, is characterized in that the second rib system comprises at least one stiffening means, preferably comprising at least one stiffening rib.
[0023] The presence of such stiffening means can result in improved mechanical strength when the tank to which the fastening means are fixed undergoes deformation, more particularly when the tank is subjected to negative pressure. Advantageously, the stiffening means comprises at least one stiffening rib, which leads to an even easier application of the fastening device.
[0024] According to a preferred embodiment, the device according to the invention for fixing a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, which cooperates with a fluid contained in the tank to suppress the sloshing noise of the fluid, comprises a first rib system having at least one insertion rib, preferably two insertion ribs facing opposite to each other, of the same length as the length of a sliding track consisting of a projection on the wall of the tank, the first rib system being configured to be inserted into the sliding track by sliding.
[0025] Thereby, a first rib system having at least one insertion rib, preferably two insertion ribs facing opposite to each other and having a length equal to the length of the sliding track into which the first rib system is configured to be inserted by sliding, can obtain improved fixation and excellent distribution of mechanical stresses.
[0026] According to a preferred embodiment, the device according to the invention for fixing a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, which cooperates with a fluid contained in the tank to suppress the sloshing noise of the fluid, has a first rib system which has a width which is dimensionally significantly smaller than the width of a sliding track consisting of a projection on the wall of the tank, the first rib system being configured to be inserted into the sliding track by sliding.
[0027] Therefore, a first rib system having a width that is dimensionally significantly smaller than the width of the sliding track into which it is configured to be inserted by sliding allows for easier insertion into the sliding track.
[0028] The phrase "having a width that is dimensionally significantly smaller than the width of the sliding track into which the first rib system is configured to be slidably inserted" means that the width of the first rib system is smaller than the width of the sliding track but is greater than the spacing between the projections that form the upper portion of the sliding track.
[0029] According to a preferred embodiment, the device according to the invention for fastening a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, intended to cooperate with the fluid contained therein to suppress the sloshing noise of said fluid, is a single moulded piece.
[0030] Such a single molded fixation device allows for high rigidity of the fixation device.
[0031] According to a preferred embodiment, in the device according to the invention for fixing a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, which cooperates with a fluid contained in the tank to suppress the sloshing noise of the fluid, at least one insertion rib is opposite at least one retaining rib.
[0032] Thus, a deflector fastening arrangement comprising at least one retaining rib and at least one opposing insert rib allows for better stress distribution and reduces shear effects.
[0033] The expression "at least one insert rib in a position opposite at least one retaining rib" means that at least one insert rib is opposite at least one retaining rib with respect to the sliding track. The insert rib being opposite the retaining rib with respect to the sliding track means more specifically that the insert rib and the retaining rib are located on both sides of the sliding track and are traversed by a same axis parallel to the central axis of the fixing device.
[0034] According to a preferred embodiment, in the device according to the invention for fixing a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, which cooperates with a fluid contained in the tank to suppress the sloshing noise of the fluid, the second rib system comprises at least one retaining rib having a concave side relative to the at least one insertion rib.
[0035] Therefore, a retaining rib having a concave side relative to the at least one insertion rib can obtain easier insertion into the sliding track.
[0036] The expression "a retaining rib having a concave side relative to at least one insertion rib" means more specifically that the portion of the retaining rib facing the upper portion of the sliding track is concave.
[0037] According to a preferred embodiment, the device according to the invention for fastening a deflector to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, intended to cooperate with a fluid contained therein and to suppress the sloshing noise of said fluid, comprises at least one fastening means adapted to anchor the deflector, preferably chosen among mechanical fastening means such as some elastic fitting or snap-fastening means, some stud or staple assembly.
[0038] Thus, the fixing device for the deflector, including the fixing means of the deflector, allows easy installation of the components consisting of the fixing device and the deflector in a tank provided with the deflector.
[0039] According to a preferred embodiment, the fixing device of the deflector to the tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, which cooperates with the fluid contained in the tank to suppress the sloshing noise of the fluid, further comprises a locking means for preventing the fixing device from being removed from a sliding track consisting of a protrusion on the wall of the tank by cooperating with the wall of the tank through complementarity of shape.
[0040] The locking means can therefore prevent movement of the fastening device in other directions of movement and further improve the fastening of the fastening device on the tank.
[0041] The expression "locking means for preventing removal of the fastening device from the sliding track formed by the protrusion of the tank wall by cooperating with the tank wall through complementarity in shape" means more specifically that the locking means and the tank wall can suppress the movement of the fastening device, particularly the sliding of the fastening device in the removal direction within the sliding track, by the geometric cooperation between the locking means and the tank wall. The locking means is, for example, a clip fastening means.
[0042] According to a preferred embodiment, the locking means comprises elastic retaining tongues arranged in a locking configuration to cooperate by shape complementarity with the protrusions of the tank wall to prevent withdrawal of the fastening device from the sliding track of the projections of the tank wall when the fastening device is fixed to the tank, the retaining tongues being capable of deformation against the return elastic force in the locking configuration, thereby unlocking the locking means and allowing withdrawal of the fastening device from the sliding track of the projections of the tank wall.
[0043] Therefore, the locking means can be implemented simply and inexpensively. It can be seen that the removal of the fixing device is easy, since it is only necessary to deform the retaining tongue to unlock the fixing device and then pull out the fixing device while sliding it within the sliding track.
[0044] The expression that the retaining tongue "cooperates with the tank wall projection by means of a complementary shape to prevent the fastening device from being removed from the sliding track formed by the protrusion of the tank wall" means that the retaining tongue has a shape complementary to the shape of the tank wall projection, which shapes cooperate to prevent the fastening device from moving, in particular to prevent the fastening device from sliding in the sliding track in the removal direction, so that the retaining tongue is, for example, clipped against the tank wall projection.
[0045] The expression "the retaining tongue can be deformed against a return elastic force in the locked configuration, thereby unlocking the locking means and allowing the fastening device to be removed from the sliding track consisting of a projection on the tank wall" means that a force can be applied to the retaining tongue, which elastically deforms the tongue and pulls it away from the projection on the tank wall, unlocking the locking means so that the fastening device can slide in the sliding track in the removal direction, and that when the force that deformed the retaining tongue is removed, the retaining tongue is elastically returned to the locked configuration. This elastic return, in the absence of an opposing force, serves to hold the retaining tongue against the projection on the tank wall when the fastening device is fixed to the tank, thereby ensuring an effective locking by the locking means and thereby ensuring the maintenance of the fastening device in position even if the tank is deformed.
[0046] The invention also relates to a sound-deadening component for a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle.
[0047] According to the invention, such a sound-deadening component for a vehicle tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle comprises a deflector and a fastening device according to the invention.
[0048] According to a preferred embodiment, a sound-absorbing component for an automotive tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle comprises at least one deflector and two fastening devices according to the invention, which are preferably located on either side of the deflector.
[0049] Advantageously, the sound-absorbing component for a vehicle tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle is a single moulding, which makes it possible to obtain a high mechanical strength of the component.
[0050] As an alternative to the above embodiment, a sound-deadening component for an automobile tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle comprises at least one deflector and at least one fastening device according to the invention, the deflector and the fastening device being connected to each other by fastening means preferably chosen from among an elastic fitting such as a snap fastening, mechanical fastening means such as assembly by studs or staples, and / or chemical fastening means such as gluing or welding.
[0051] The invention also relates to a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle, comprising a sound-absorbing component according to the invention, which is inserted and fixed in a sliding track consisting of a projection in the wall of the tank.
[0052] According to a preferred embodiment, the tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle according to the invention has a sound-absorbing component inserted and fixed in at least two sliding tracks consisting of protrusions in the wall of the tank, the two sliding tracks being preferably located opposite each other on the wall of the tank.
[0053] According to a preferred embodiment, the tank made of plastics material for a motor vehicle according to the invention has a space between at least one retaining rib, preferably all retaining ribs of the second rib system, and the upper part of the sliding track.
[0054] There is therefore a mechanical play between at least one retaining rib and the wall of the tank, and preferably between all ribs and the projections forming the upper part of the sliding track.
[0055] According to a preferred embodiment, in the tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle according to the invention, the sliding track is provided with at least one stopper.
[0056] The presence of such a stop in the sliding track can stop the insertion of the component into the sliding track through the fixing device. Advantageously, the sliding track comprises mechanical retention means of the component that form a resilient fit between the component and the fixing device.
[0057] The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle.
[0058] The method according to the invention comprises the steps of: providing a tank with a sliding track consisting of protrusions on the tank wall; - inserting the sound-deadening component according to the invention into the sliding track by sliding; Includes.

[0068] 6 shows a step of an embodiment of a method for manufacturing a tank made of plastic material for a motor vehicle with a deflector and a fastening device 1. It can be seen that the deflector is not yet fastened to the fastening device 1. The fastening device has a first end 10 with a first rib system 11 with at least two ribs 110, 111, called insertion ribs, extending opposite each other, which are adapted to be inserted by sliding into a sliding track 3 of projections 40, 41 of the wall 4 of the tank, the first end 10 having a second rib system 12 adapted to be located outside the sliding track 3, the second rib system 12 having at least two ribs 120, 121, called retention ribs, extending opposite each other, each retention rib of the second rib system adapted to support the wall 4 of the tank during deformation of the tank, more particularly when the tank is deformed under negative pressure. The insertion ribs 110, 111 are opposed to the retaining ribs 120, 121. The insertion ribs 110, 111 and the retaining ribs 120, 121 are arranged in such a way that the projections 40, 41 of the tank wall 4 forming the sliding track 3 are axially sandwiched between the insertion ribs 110, 111 and the retaining ribs 120, 121. The fixing device 1 is fixed to the tank leaving free the fixing means 13 arranged to fasten the deflector 2. The fixing means 13 comprises two snap-fastening points arranged to fix the deflector.
[0069] Figures 7 and 8 show the fastening device 1 according to another embodiment. According to this embodiment, the fastening device 1 further comprises a locking means 14 adapted to cooperate by shape complementarity with the wall 4 of the tank to prevent the fastening device 1 from being pulled out from the sliding track 3 consisting of the projections 40, 41 of the wall 4 of the tank. More specifically, in this case, the locking means 14 comprises an elastic retaining tongue 140 arranged to cooperate by shape complementarity with the projection 9 of the wall 4 of the tank to prevent the fastening device 1 from being pulled out from the sliding track 3 when the fastening device 1 is fixed to the tank, according to a locking configuration visible in Figures 7 and 8. The retaining tongue 140 is capable of deformation against the return elastic force in the locked configuration, thereby unlocking the locking means 14 and allowing the fastening device 1 to be pulled out from the sliding track 3. The retaining tongue 140 thus allows the fastening device 1 to be clipped to the tank and to improve the fastening to the tank, in particular by preventing the fastening device 1 from moving in the direction of pulling out from the sliding track. In this case, the retaining tongue 140 is provided on its face facing the projection 9 with a rib 141 having a contour with two projections 142, 143 separated by a recess 144, the contour being complementary to that of the projection 9. The recess 144 is of sufficient depth to prevent the fastening device 1 from sliding in the sliding track 3 in the removal direction.
