Such multi-component pet food compositions may include an inner component and an outer component having different textures, providing a dual-texture composition. The multi-ingredient pet food composition may include an inner component and an outer component partially covering the inner component. Composition 1 of the outer component (hereinafter "Sample C") was also tested for palatability against Control A. Palatability testing was conducted. Cats (n=30) were exposed to both samples. Both samples were presented to each cat for approximately 20 minutes. Samples were presented in excess so that differences in feeding performance could be assessed. Cats were exposed to both samples a total of four times, and the position of the samples was rotated between each exposure to ensure there was no bias due to product order or date effects.
