Abstract
To provide catalyst systems for making olefin polymer and methods for making and using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for making catalyst systems, the method including the steps of: dissolving 1-ethyl indenyl lithium in dimethoxyethane to form a precursor solution; cooling the precursor solution to about -20°C; adding solid Zr Cl4 over an approximately 5 minute time period to initiate a reaction; continuing the reaction overnight; removing volatiles to form a raw product; extracting the raw product with CH2Cl2; and removing the CH2Cl2 under vacuum to form a mixture comprising about 19 parts of meso-(1-EtInd)2ZrCl2 and about 1 part of rac-(1-EtInd)2ZrCl2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
