Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a dosing device for delivering an infusion product.
[0002] In particular, the device according to the invention can be used in an automatic machine for forming infusion packets for the metered delivery of infusion products such as tea, coffee, chamomile, etc. This specification expressly refers to an automatic machine for forming infusion packets, without limiting the scope of the invention. [Background technology]
[0003] Automatic machines designed for making infusion packets such as filter bags, filter paper pods, etc. comprise a number of operating stations (usually) arranged in succession along the production line of the automatic machine (a line which may run horizontally or vertically depending on the type of machine).
[0004] Each automatic machine also comprises a supply station designed to supply portions or doses of the infusion product onto a device (eg a continuous belt) for supplying the filter material used to make the packets.
[0005] The solution known from patent document WO2018162998 (in the name of the same applicant as the present invention) shows a feeding station that is integrated into a machine and is used to dose products according to a series of subsets of the products.
[0006] This solution comprises a dosing device having a tower or hopper (with a vertical extension axis) for receiving the loose infusion product.
[0007] A plurality of tubular channels for supplying the products are connected to and in fluid communication with the containment tower and are radially disposed about and projecting from the tower.
[0008] Each tubular channel, by virtue of rotation about an associated axis, picks up product from the receiving tower and releases a predetermined amount from its associated outer free end into a corresponding underlying receptacle.
[0009] Each receptacle for receiving the infused product from the channel has a wall movable between a closed position of the receptacle and an open position for dispensing a programmed quantity of product.
[0010] The vessel is associated with a movable (rotating) platform that is below the channel.
[0011] Further, the platform, in turn, carries each container under at least two dosing channels and into two different delivery positions of different amounts of product to accommodate programmed doses that drop from the two channels by gravity.
[0012] The container is then again transported from the platform to a zone for dispensing the programmed dose of infused product.
[0013] The apparatus also includes a plurality of weighing elements disposed along the path followed by the platform for controlling the weight of product dispensed from the channel into each receptacle.
[0014] In a first solution, a number of weighing elements may be arranged directly below each movable container and on the movable platform.
[0015] In a second solution, the plurality of metering elements are arranged on a fixed platform superimposed on the mobile platform, which also supports a second plurality of receptacles for receiving the product doses falling from the corresponding tubular channels, in which case segments of the product doses are metered in the fixed receptacles and then released into receptacles resting on the mobile platform.
[0016] The system so constructed is monitored by a control unit connected to the tubular delivery channel, the plurality of metering elements, and the platform for controlling the amount of product dispensed by the channel to the container.
[0017] While this solution offers significant improvements in the associated overall dimensions, dosing speed and operational reliability compared to prior art solutions of dosing devices, it does have some drawbacks.
[0018] The dosing device must perform segmented dosing and associated control of the weight of product (usually a few grams) dispensed through several different steps in a dynamic manner.
[0019] This dynamic system creates problems in terms of the load cells which must detect each time the weight of the product received in the container during the acceleration and deceleration movements of the moving parts and the actual accuracy in controlling the weight in the various positions taken by the container.
[0020] Furthermore, since the dosing device is applied directly to the machine for forming the packages of the infusion product, it is subject to vibrations generated by the machine during its operation, which can increase the problems of precision for controlling the weight, although to a very limited extent in practice.
[0021] Furthermore, each actual metered segment obtained must be sent to a control unit using an electrical signal which stores and processes data items which must be added to the previous or subsequent metered data in order to check the exact portion delivered.
[0022] Therefore, the system may generate small dosing errors (also in a chained manner), precisely due to dosing segmentation and movement problems of the various components, which need to be processed by the control unit and, as a result, the dosing channel needs to be recalibrated (with the rotation time and rotation speed parameters of the channel).
[0023] In this case, the segmented dose system results in a rather slow validation of the calibration, which can result in incorrect doses or external parameters that cannot be used during subsequent packaging of the product. Summary of the Invention
[0024] SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT EMBODIMENT The object of the present invention is to provide a dosing device for delivering an infusion product which overcomes the above mentioned drawbacks.
[0025] More specifically, it is an object of the present invention to provide a dosing device for supplying an infusion product, which is able to carry out the dosing of the product accurately and with a high productivity per unit of time.
[0026] A further object of the present invention is to provide a dosing device for supplying infused products which is always reduced in size and which can self-adapt the correct dosing in a fast and effective manner using a weight control system.
[0027] These objects are perfectly achieved by the dosing device for delivering an infusion product according to the invention, as characterized in the appended claims. [Brief description of the drawings]
[0028] These and other features of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of preferred, non-limiting embodiments of the invention, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. [Figure 1]1 shows a perspective view from above, with some parts cut away to better illustrate other parts, of a dosing device for delivering an infusion product according to the invention; FIG. [Diagram 2] FIG. 2 shows a front view of the dosing device of FIG. 1, with some parts in section to better illustrate other parts. [Diagram 3] FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0029] With reference to the accompanying drawings, and in particular to Figures 1 and 2, a dosing apparatus according to the present invention, generally labelled 100, is used to deliver an infusion product for forming filter bags in an automatic machine (not shown).
[0030] More specifically, without limiting the invention, this dosing device 100 is used to form doses of "high quality" infusion products, i.e. products formed by components in leaf form or in granular form of large dimensions and which need to be handled more carefully compared to products in powder form or in any case of small size.
[0031] The dosing device 100 comprises a tower 1 for receiving the loose infusion product.
[0032] The loose product is fed by a conveying and dropping unit (eg, a hopper and a feeding surface (not shown)).
[0033] The dosing device 100 also comprises a number of tubular channels 2 connected to and projecting in communication with the storage tower 1 from the same for supplying the infusion product.
[0034] It is noted that each channel 2 of the plurality of channels is actuated by a corresponding actuator 13 configured to actuate the channel 2 to release a predetermined amount of product from the associated free end.
[0035] Each tubular channel 2 is thus configured to pick up product from the storage tower 1 and release a predetermined amount of product from its associated outer free end.
[0036] Furthermore, the dosing device 100 comprises a first plurality of containers 3 for receiving the infusion product, individually associated with the plurality of tubular channels 2 .
[0037] Each container 3 has a wall 4 movable between a closed position to retain the product within the container 3 and an open position to allow escape of a quantity of infused product from the container 3.
[0038] The dosing device 100 comprises a fixed platform 5 supporting a first plurality of containers 3 for receiving the products falling from corresponding tubular conduits 2 .
[0039] The dosing device 100 comprises a plurality of actual weighing elements 6 , each of which is supported by a fixed platform 5 and is associated with a corresponding container 3 of the first plurality of containers 3 .
[0040] It should be noted that each element 6 for the actual measurement of the product is configured to measure the weight value of the container 3 to which it is associated (the weight of the container itself) and the quantity of product therein.
[0041] Furthermore, the dosing device 100 comprises a control unit 11 which communicates with each actuating device 13 and each actual metering element 6 (and preferably also with the movable platform 9).
[0042] The control unit 11 is programmed to detect the value measured by each element 6 of the plurality of elements 6 and to activate the corresponding channel 2 until a predetermined amount of product is reached (as will be described in more detail below).
[0043] As shown, the device 100 includes a plurality of reference elements 12 (of a quantity or weight of a single portion of product) each positioned near (below) a corresponding actual measuring element 6, the plurality of reference elements 12 being independent of the actual measuring element 6.
[0044] A number of reference elements 12 are associated with the fixed platform 5, each supporting a weight of a predetermined value (e.g., the predetermined value being a programmed weight value of the infusion product, which corresponds to the weight value to be dosed into a corresponding one of the plurality of containers 3).
[0045] Preferably, each reference element 12 communicates with the control unit 11 and determines a weight value of the container 3 to be subtracted from the detection signal transmitted by the corresponding actual weighing element 6 (i.e. the amount or weight of the product placed in the corresponding container 3 of the first plurality of containers minus the weight of the empty container (the weight of the container itself)). Add ) to the control unit 11.
[0046] Preferably, the number of actual weighing elements 6 is equal to the number of reference elements 12 .
[0047] With this in mind, each reference element 12 is positioned close to a corresponding actual metering element 6 of the plurality of actual metering elements 6. Preferably, the device 100 comprises a second plurality of receptacles 7 for receiving the portions of infused product falling from a corresponding receptacle 3 of the first plurality of receptacles.
[0048] Each container 7 of the second plurality of containers has a wall 8 movable between a closed position for retaining the product within the second plurality of containers 7 and an open position allowing the infused product to fall out of the second plurality of containers 7 and thereby leak.
[0049] The dosing device 100 also comprises a platform 9 which is movable (in a direction V) relative to and positioned below the plurality of tubular channels 2 .
[0050] The platform 9 is associated with a second plurality of containers 7 that are positioned one after the other along the platform 9 .
[0051] The platform 9 is configured to transport each container 7 of the second plurality of containers according to a predetermined sequence to a supply position for supplying a quantity of product falling from a corresponding container 3 of the first plurality of containers to the second plurality of containers 7, and subsequently to a discharge position (in particular to a discharge zone 10) different from the supply position and along the supply direction V of the platform 9 for leakage due to the falling quantity of infused product from the second plurality of containers 7.
[0052] As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the accommodation tower 1 has a first axis of longitudinal development X1.
[0053] Also, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, each channel (here tubular cylindrical) 2 projects radially from the storage tower 1.
[0054] Preferably, each tubular channel 2 projects from the receiving tower 1 and rotates about a corresponding second axis of longitudinal development X2.
[0055] Furthermore, in the illustrated case, the fixed platform 5 and the movable platform 9 have a circular shape (and surround from below the tower 1 for accommodating the products).
[0056] Furthermore, the movable platform 9 rotates about an axis X1 in a direction V and along a circular path.
[0057] The platform 9 is movable thanks to a drive unit (not shown).
[0058] Preferably, the movable platform 9 moves in a continuous motion when required.
[0059] According to the solution shown, each actual metering element 6 is arranged below and in contact with a corresponding receptacle 3 of the first plurality of receptacles.
[0060] Thanks to the presence of the reference element, the system for dosing each tubular conduit is always controlled in real time by a control unit, which, as will be explained in more detail below, is able to adapt different and individual calibrations for the tubular conduits following a comparison made between the actual weight (non-actuated and non-dynamic) measurements and the corresponding detection signals.
[0061] The resulting structure maintains high speed delivery of product while providing high dosing accuracy and a significantly reduced overall size of the device.
[0062] Each actual metering element 6 is arranged to communicate with the control unit 11 and to transmit a signal corresponding to the actual weight of product delivered from the corresponding tubular conduit 2 to the first container 3 .
[0063] In light of this, the weighing element 6 may be a load cell which transmits several signals to the control unit 11 during the dynamic step of the product drop and one or more signals during inactivity, i.e. when the product supply is completed.
[0064] With this in mind, each tubular conduit 2 is in individual communication with the control unit 11 and is programmed to release, in a single operation, an amount of product equivalent to a complete dose of the infused product (into a corresponding container 3 of the first plurality of containers).
[0065] It should be noted that the control unit 11 is programmed to receive and process each signal corresponding to the actual weight of a dose transmitted by each actual metering element 6 together with a signal related to a reference weight value of known value transmitted by the corresponding reference element.
[0066] The control unit 11 can change the operating configuration for releasing the infused product in the corresponding tubular conduit 2 when data outside pre-set parameters is present, obtained from the difference between the weight measured by each actual metering element 6 and the weight measured by the corresponding reference element 12.
[0067] Preferably, each tubular channel 2 has a screw profile formed at its free end for picking up the product inside the tower 1 for receiving the product.
[0068] As mentioned above, the dosing device 100 comprises a movement device 13 for each tubular channel 2 .
[0069] Each moving device 13 is supported by a storage tower 1 and is disposed on a corresponding tubular channel 2 .
[0070] Each displacement device 13 enables rotation of the corresponding tubular channel 2 about an associated axis X2 of longitudinal development.
[0071] It is noted that each moving device 13 is connected to a control unit 11 programmed to control the moving device 13 to obtain a rotation of the corresponding channel according to rotation time parameters and rotation speed parameters depending on the dose of infusion product to be delivered to the underlying container.
[0072] Preferably, the moving device 13 is configured to rotate the corresponding tubular conduit in a rotational direction V2 about its longitudinal axis X2 (preferably opposite to the rotational direction of the tubular conduits 2 before and after the tubular conduit 2 in question, referenced to the movement direction V of the movable platform 9).
[0073] This alternating rotation between successive tubular conduits 2 enables the product to be conveyed uniformly downwards from the tower 1 towards the individual tubular conduits 2 .
[0074] As already mentioned, the storage tower 1 has a first axis of longitudinal development X1.
[0075] The tower 1 comprises a base 14 having a tapered cross section so as to form a surface for discharging the inclined product towards the tubular channel 2 .
[0076] With this in mind, the base 14 is equipped with a moving device 15 capable of generating axial vibrations on the base 14, i.e. vibrations parallel to the longitudinal axis X1 of deployment of the tower 1, so as to enable an even distribution of the product towards the tubular conduit 2.
[0077] In other words, the base 14 and the peripheral walls of the tower 1 define a chamber configured in the form of a ramp (i.e. a chamber with a gradual slope descending from the centre of the chamber towards the outside where the tubular channel 2 is located), which is able to always maintain a predetermined level of loose infusion product available to the tubular channel 2.
[0078] As shown, the fixed platform 5, like the mobile platform 9, has a circular or annular shape and comprises a first integral inner annular portion 5a with which the actual measuring elements 6 and the reference elements 12 are radially associated.
[0079] Each actual weighing element 6 (load cell) is arranged above a corresponding reference element 12 .
[0080] Preferably, each metering element 6 is separated from the corresponding reference element 12 by an annular protruding portion 5 b of the fixed portion 5 a of the platform 5 .
[0081] In this way, the actual measurements and the reference signal are transmitted from a similar position on axis X1 of tower 1, and the vibrations emitted by the automatic machine on which the device is mounted are distributed equally to both cells.
[0082] This structure therefore allows the reference data to reduce the actual reading error caused by the machine vibration frequency.
[0083] It should be noted that the total weight of the product mass in the container is controlled in real time each time it is dispensed, thanks to a comparison performed by the control unit between the signal arriving from the actual weighing element and the signal arriving from the reference element.
[0084] In particular, the following are transmitted in real time to the control unit: Potential errors due to machine vibrations are identified (i.e., weight anomalies due to vibrations present at that moment are subtracted) and the weight of the product to be deposited in the corresponding container is multiplied by the weight of the empty container, i.e. the weight of the container itself. What was added a reference signal corresponding to the theoretical weight of the container containing A signal of the actual weight of the container.
[0085] At this point, always in real time, the control unit compares the two arriving signals, i.e. subtracts the reference signal from the actual weight signal, and modifies the dosing of the corresponding tubular channel if necessary. As a configuration example, the dosing device 100 of the attached drawings comprises ten first containers 3 for receiving, ten tubular conduits 2, uniformly arranged on a fixed platform 5.
[0086] The mobile platform 9 carries twelve second containers 7 as two containers 7 are always above the discharge zone 10 and not engaged below the tubular conduit 2 .
[0087] The present invention also provides a method for delivering a dose of an infusion product for making a filter bag.
[0088] The method includes the following steps: preparing simultaneously in a number of tubular conduits (2) quantities of infusion product by weight corresponding to programmed doses of infusion product; - depositing simultaneously, by dropping, doses of infusion product from the plurality of tubular conduits 2 into a corresponding first plurality of containers 3 supported by a fixed platform 5; performing an actual metering of the doses of infusion product deposited in each individual container 3 of the first plurality of containers; performing a reference weighing of a plurality of reference elements 12 associated with the fixed platform 5, the weights being known and having a predetermined value; A comparison is made using the control unit 11 between each actual measured data of the dose of infused product deposited in the individual container 3 and corresponding reference data from a plurality of reference elements 12.
[0089] Preferably, after the step of comparing each actual weighing data with the corresponding reference data, there is a step of calibrating the preparation of the amount of product to be dosed, if necessary, by modifying the operating parameters of each corresponding tubular conduit 2 by the control unit 11.
[0090] In other words, the control unit 11 modifies the rotation speed parameter, or the rotation time parameter, or both parameters of the tubular channel if the weight data and the reference data are abnormal outside the predetermined range.
[0091] Preferably, after the step of dispensing a dose of product from each container 3 of the first plurality of containers into a corresponding container 7 of the second plurality of containers, each metering element and each reference unit sends a start calibration signal for the next cycle to the control unit.
[0092] After the comparison step, there is a depositing step in which a dose of product contained in each container 3 of the first plurality of containers 3 is deposited simultaneously and by dropping into a corresponding container 7 of a second plurality of containers arranged on a movable platform 9.
[0093] After the deposition step, there is a movement (rotation) of the mobile platform 9, enabling each container 7 of the second plurality of containers to reach a zone 10 for ejecting the corresponding dose of product contained therein.
[0094] Preferably, during the step of movement (rotation) of the movable platform 9 for discharging the respective doses of the second plurality of containers 7 into the discharge zone 10, the steps of preparing the doses of the infusion product in the tubular conduit 2, depositing the doses in corresponding containers 3 of the first plurality of containers arranged on the fixed platform 5, the actual measuring step and the step of comparing each deposited actual measuring data with corresponding reference data are carried out simultaneously.
[0095] Thus, at steady state, the steps of dose preparation, expulsion of the first dose, and accurate measurement of the dose weight are performed in "masked time".
[0096] Thanks to this dosing device, a predefined objective is achieved.
[0097] In particular, the dosing device has a structure that allows speeding up and accurately performing each single dose, which usually has a significant duration that affects the entire machine cycle, thanks to a double drop system that controls the weight of the dose in a masked time, i.e. during the discharge of the dose from the container in the discharge zone.
[0098] The presence of a "control" cell in combination with a weighing cell makes it possible to always precisely control the weight of the dosed product, regardless of the vibrations transmitted by the automatic machine to which the dosing device is attached.
