[0027] A cylindrical connection collar 54 extending in the front-rear direction is supported at the tip of the support pipe 57. The connection collar 54 is fixed to the support pipe 57 with the tip of the support pipe 57 abutted against the side surface. A bolt (connection member, fastening member) 81 extending in the front-rear direction (see FIG. 7) is inserted through the connection collar 54. The rear grip front portion 51 is connected to the connection collar 54 via the bolt 81.
[0028] The left rear grip portion 56L (see FIG. 7) of the present embodiment is constituted by the left stay main body 58, the left support pipe 57, and the left connection collar 54. Also, the right rear grip portion 56R (see FIG. 7) of the present embodiment is constituted by the right stay main body 58, the right support pipe 57, and the right connection collar 54. The rear grip portion 56 of the present embodiment is constituted by the left rear grip portion 56L, the right rear grip portion 56R, and the stay bridge portion 59.
[0029] The rear grip front portion 51 is connected to the rear grip portion 56. The rear grip front portion 51 has a pair of left and right grip pipes 53 having a bent pipe shape. The pair of left and right grip pipes 53 are formed symmetrically. The outer diameter of the grip pipe 53 is formed smaller than the outer diameter of the connection collar 54. The grip pipe 53 has a covering portion 53a extending in the front-rear direction and a curved portion 53b that curves inward in the vehicle width direction from the front end of the covering portion 53a. Inside the rear end of the covering portion 53a, a threaded hole member (member to be connected) 82 is provided (see FIG. 6). The threaded hole member 82 is cylindrical. A threaded hole extending in the front-rear direction is formed in the central portion of the threaded hole member 82. Thereby, the grip pipe 53 is fastened and connected by a bolt 81 inserted through the rear part of the rear grip 56. The grip pipe 53 is integrally supported by the rear part of the rear grip 56.
[0030] A rubber grip (tubular member) 71 is attached to the covering portion 53a of the grip pipe 53. The rubber grip 71 is made of a material with lower thermal conductivity than the front part of the rear grip 51, that is, rubber as an example of a material with lower thermal conductivity than metal. The rubber grip 71 is a closed tube in the circumferential direction. In other words, the rubber grip 71 is not provided with a slit that can be divided in the circumferential direction, that is, a slit that can be unfolded flat. The rubber grip 71 has an inner diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the covering portion 53a.
[0031] In the present embodiment, the rubber grip 71 is formed in a cylindrical shape as an example of a tubular member. The rubber grip 71 has a thickness 71a that is thicker at both axial ends than other parts. The rubber grip 71 is formed with a larger diameter at both ends than at other parts. The rubber grip 71 can be positioned by utilizing the difference in the bending shape between the front end of the covering portion 53a, that is, the covering portion 53a and the curved portion 53b. The covering portion 53a is covered with the rubber grip 71. The rubber grip 71 is attached to the covering portion 53a via an adhesive.
[0032] A load-hanging hook portion 53c that protrudes radially is provided on the side surface of the base end portion of the curved portion 53b of the grip pipe 53 (see FIG. 5). The load-hanging hook portion 53c protrudes downward and outward in the vehicle width direction. At the tip of the curved portion 53b, a cylindrical fixed collar 52 extending in the vehicle width direction is supported. The fixed collar 52 is fixed to the curved portion 53b with the tip of the curved portion 53b abutted against the side surface. A bolt 84 extending in the vehicle width direction is inserted through the fixed collar 52. The bolt 84 is fixed to the seat frame 35. At this time, the outer end portion in the vehicle width direction of the hole of the fixed collar 52 is closed with an end cap 85. Thereby, when the rear grip front portion 51 is fixed to the seat frame 35, the appearance exposure of the bolt 84 is prevented.
[0033] The left grip pipe 53 and the left fixed collar 52 constitute the rear grip left front portion 51L (see FIG. 7) of the present embodiment. Also, the right grip pipe 53 and the right fixed collar 52 constitute the rear grip right front portion 51R (see FIG. 7) of the present embodiment. Further, the rear grip left front portion 51L and the rear grip right front portion 51R constitute the rear grip front portion 51 of the present embodiment.
[0034] The rear grip front portion 51 and the rear grip rear portion 56 constitute the rear grip main body portion 50 (see FIG. 4). The rear grip 55 of the present embodiment is constituted by the rear grip main body portion 50, the rubber grip 71, and the like.
[0035] FIG. 8 is an explanatory view showing the assembly of the rear grip 55 according to the first embodiment. In the rear grip 55 according to the present embodiment, various parts indicated by reference numerals 52 to 54, 57 to 59, etc. are manufactured in advance by bending a metal pipe or processing a metal plate material. These manufactured various parts are assembled to constitute the rear grip 55.
[0036] Specifically, as shown in FIG. 6, a screw hole member 82 is fixed inside the rear end of the covering portion 53a of the grip pipe 53 by plug welding. Also, a loading hook portion 53c is welded to the curved portion 53b. Thereby, the left and right grip pipes 53 are manufactured. A connection collar 54 is fixed to the rear end portion of the grip pipe 53. That is, a bolt 81 is inserted into the connection collar 54 from the rear. The bolt 81 is fastened to a threaded hole member 82 at the rear end of the grip pipe 53.
[0037] Then, as shown in FIG. 8, the left and right fixed collars 52 and the left and right stay main bodies 58 are set on their respective jigs 101 and 102. The fixed collar 52 has a jig 101 inserted into its cylindrical hole and is set on the jig 101. The stay main body 58 has a jig 102 inserted into its frame fixing hole 61 and positioning hole 64 and is set on the jig 102. The positions of the jigs 101 and 102 are adjusted based on the rear frame 20 and rear fender 27 to which the rear grip 55 is fixed. Therefore, the positions of the fixed collar 52 and the stay main body 58 are positioned by the jigs 101 and 102.
[0038] In this state, a stay bridging portion 59 is welded to the stay rear portion 58b of the left and right stay main bodies 58. At this time, the stay bridging portion 59 may be welded with a jig 103 set in the positioning hole 66 of the stay bridging portion 59. A support pipe 57 is welded to the stay front portion 58a of the stay main body 58. A connection collar 54 fixed to the rear end of the grip pipe 53 is welded to the tip of the support pipe 57. Also, a fixed collar 52 is welded to the curved portion 53b on the front side of the grip pipe 53. Thereby, the rear grip main body portion 50 is manufactured.
[0039] Since each part of the rear grip main body portion 50 before welding is welded while being held by the jigs 101 to 103, the rear grip main body portion 50 is manufactured while ensuring the positional accuracy with respect to the fixing holes of the seat frame 35 and the rear fender 27.
[0040] Next, a rubber grip 71 is attached to the rear grip main body portion 50. That is, the rear grip main body portion 50 is removed from the jigs 101 to 103. Then, the bolt 81 is removed, and it is disassembled into the rear grip front portion 51 and the rear grip rear portion 56. A rubber grip 71 is attached to a grip pipe 53 at the front part of the rear grip 51. The rubber grip 71 is attached with an adhesive applied to its inner surface. Since a thickness 71a is formed at the end of the rubber grip 71, deformation at the end is suppressed. Therefore, curling or the like during the attachment of the rubber grip 71 is suppressed.
[0041] As shown in FIG. 6, the rubber grip 71 is positioned by utilizing the difference in curvature between a curved portion 53b and a covering portion 53a. Alternatively, the rubber grip 71 may be positioned by using a fixture 104 corresponding to the axial length of the covering portion 53a. The fixture 104 determines the position from the rear end to the front end of the curved portion 53b by abutting against the rear end of the curved portion 53b. Further, instead of the fixture 104, a clamp member 105 may be attached to the curved portion 53b, and the rubber grip 71 may be positioned by the clamp member 105. The fixture 104 and the clamp member 105 are removable.
[0042] When the rubber grip 71 is attached to the front part of the rear grip 51, the rear part of the rear grip 56 is connected to the front part of the rear grip 51 by bolts 81. At this time, the outer diameter of the connection collar 54 is larger than the outer diameter of the covering portion 53a of the grip pipe 53. Therefore, the front end of the connection collar 54 becomes a step 54a, enabling the positioning of the rear end of the rubber grip 71. An end cap 83 is attached to the rear end of the connection collar 54. Thereby, the rear grip 55 is assembled.
[0043] As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the rear grip 55 is fixed to the seat frame 35 and the rear fender 27. For the front part of the rear grip 51, a fixing collar 52 is fixed to the seat frame 35. Bolts 84 are inserted through the fixing collar 52 from the outside in the vehicle width direction. The fixing collar 52 is rigidly mounted on the seat frame 35. The outer end portion of the fixing collar 52 in the vehicle width direction is closed by an end cap 85. Therefore, the appearance exposure of the bolts 84 is prevented.
[0044] In the rear grip portion 56, a bolt 86 extending in the vertical direction is inserted into the frame fixing hole 61 of the stay rear portion 58b. The bolt 86 is fixed to the rear cross member 38 of the seat frame 35. The stay rear portion 58b is rigidly mounted on the rear cross member 38.
[0045] In the outer fender fixing hole 62 of the stay rear portion 58b, a bolt 87 extending in the vertical direction is inserted. The bolt 87 is fixed to the outer fender 45 of the rear fender 27. The stay rear portion 58b is rubber-mounted on the outer fender 45. In the inner fender fixing hole 63 of the stay leg portion 58c of the rear grip portion 56, a bolt 88 extending in the vertical direction is inserted. The bolt 88 is fixed to the inner fender 44 of the rear fender 27. The stay rear portion 58b is rubber-mounted on the inner fender 44. Thereby, the rear grip 55 is attached to the vehicle body of the saddle-type vehicle 10.
[0046] Here, in the saddle-type vehicle 10 of the present embodiment, a passenger can ride in addition to the driver. When a passenger rides, the passenger grabs the rear grip 55 extending along the seat frame 35. Here, the rear grip 55, specifically, the rear grip main body portion 50 is made of metal. In particular, in the present embodiment, since it is an up-type muffler, the rear grip 55 is disposed close to the muffler 25c. For this reason, it is in a state where it is easily affected by heat from the muffler 25c.
[0047] On the other hand, the rear grip main body portion 50 of the present embodiment is covered with a rubber grip 71 having a cylindrical shape (tubular) without slits. Therefore, the appearance of the metal rear grip 55 can be ensured. Further, the metal rear grip 55 can be covered in a state where it is difficult to be peeled off by the cylindrical shape (tubular) of the rubber grip 71. Therefore, when a passenger grabs the rear grip 55, it is easy to grab the metal rear grip main body portion 50 through the rubber grip 71 with suppressed heat conduction, and the discomfort of the passenger can be suppressed.
[0048] As described above, according to the first embodiment to which the present invention is applied, in the saddle-ride type vehicle 10 including the vehicle body frame 11, the rear fender 27 supported by the vehicle body frame 11, and the rear grip 55 supported by the vehicle body frame 11 and the rear fender 27, the rear grip 55 includes a rear grip main body portion 50 made of metal. The rear grip main body portion 50 has a structure that can be divided into a rear grip front portion 51 and a rear grip rear portion 56. The rear grip front portion 51 is connected to the vehicle body frame 11, and the rear grip rear portion 56 is connected to the vehicle body frame 11 and the rear fender 27. At least a part of the rear grip front portion 51 or the rear grip rear portion 56 is covered with a rubber grip 71 having a lower thermal conductivity than the rear grip main body portion 50. According to this configuration, it is possible to provide a saddle-ride type vehicle 10 that can cover the metal rear grip 55 in a state where it is difficult to peel off while ensuring the appearance of the metal rear grip 55, and suppress discomfort of a co-rider.
[0049] In the present embodiment, the rubber grip 71 is made of rubber. According to this configuration, by manufacturing the rubber grip 71 from a material having a low thermal conductivity such as rubber, heat conduction from the metal rear grip main body portion 50 to the rubber grip 71 can be suppressed.
[0050] Further, in the present embodiment, the rubber grip 71 has a cylindrical shape, and a thick portion 71a thicker than other portions is provided at an axial end portion of the rubber grip 71. According to this configuration, since the rubber grip 71 has a cylindrical shape, it is easy to cover the rear grip main body portion 50 with a minimum area, which can lead to cost reduction. Further, according to this configuration, since the axial end portion of the rubber grip 71 has a thick portion 71a, a co-rider can easily recognize the end of the rubber grip 71 by touch or the like. Furthermore, according to this configuration, when the rubber grip 71 is attached to the rear grip main body portion 50, the thick portion 71a at the end is difficult to deform, so it is easy to prevent the rubber grip 71 from being turned up.
[0051] In addition, in the present embodiment, the rear grip front portion 51 has a rear grip right front portion 51R and a rear grip left front portion 51L, and the rear grip rear portion 56 has a rear grip right rear portion 56R connected to the rear grip right front portion 51R, a rear grip left rear portion 56L connected to the rear grip left front portion 51L, and a stay bridge portion 59 connecting the rear grip right rear portion 56R and the rear grip left rear portion 56L. At least one hole 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66 is formed in each of the rear grip right rear portion 56R, the rear grip left rear portion 56L, and the stay bridge portion 59. According to this configuration, the jigs 102 and 103 can be inserted into the holes 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66 provided in each part of the rear grip rear portion 56 to position each part of the rear grip rear portion 56, and the rear grip rear portion 56 can be integrally manufactured while suppressing displacement and inclination between each part.
[0052] In addition, in the present embodiment, the rear grip front portion 51 and the rear grip rear portion 56 are connected in the vehicle body front-rear direction. The rear grip front portion 51 is connected to the vehicle body frame 11 from the vehicle body width direction, and the rear grip rear portion 56 is connected to the vehicle body frame 11 and the rear fender 27 from the vehicle body up-down direction. According to this configuration, since the connection directions of the connection portions of the rear grip 55 are different from each other, any connection portion can easily exhibit the mounting strength with respect to the load direction, and it is difficult to impair the mounting rigidity. In particular, when connected by bolts (fastening members) 81, 84, 86 to 88, it is easy to make the rotation directions during fastening different.
[0053] In addition, in the present embodiment, the rear grip 55 is provided with a covering portion 53a covered with a rubber grip 71, and a step 54a for positioning the rubber grip 71 is provided at the rear end portion of the covering portion 53a.
