Abstract

To provide a technique that can estimate another body index different from properties and the like of a horny layer by using infrared absorption spectrum information on the horny layer.SOLUTION: In a body index estimation method, one or more processors execute the steps of: acquiring infrared absorption spectrum information related to a horny layer peeled off from the skin of a person to be evaluated; and inputting the infrared absorption spectrum information to an estimation model obtained by using a plurality of data sets of infrared absorption spectrum information related to horny layers peeled off from the skins of a plurality of sample providers and a known target index value, thereby estimating a target index value of the person to be estimated. The infrared absorption spectrum information includes a plurality of intensity values in a predetermined wave number region, and the target index value is an index value related to a state of the face sensorily evaluated in terms of vision or touch, age and physique properties, blood and blood vessel properties, or internal skin properties.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
