Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a method for attaching a rubber crawler and an attachment jig.
Background Art
[0002] Conventionally, a vehicle that drives and travels an endless rubber crawler by a sprocket drive mechanism is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). Since the endless rubber crawler is endless and has no seam, it is difficult to attach it so as to wrap around a plurality of rotors. In Patent Document 1, it is disclosed that a first part of a split wheel is disposed on the rubber crawler, the first part is rotated to contact the rubber crawler, and then a second part of the wheel is attached to the first part.

Embodiment for Carrying out the Invention
[0010] Hereinafter, a method for attaching a rubber crawler and a mounting jig for the rubber crawler of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. In the present embodiment, a traveling device provided on a vehicle will be described as an example. FIG. 1 is a side view showing a traveling device 1 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is a partial perspective view of the traveling device 1 shown in FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the drive wheel 10 shown in FIG. 2. FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the lower idler 60 shown in FIG. 2.
[0011] As shown in FIG. 1, the traveling device 1 includes a drive wheel 10, a guide wheel 17, a rubber crawler 20, a plurality of lower idlers (idler wheels) 60, and a plurality of upper idlers (idler wheels) 70. The drive wheel 10 is a rotating body that is rotatably supported at one end in the front-rear direction on the side portion of the vehicle body 2 of the vehicle. The guide wheel 17 is a rotating body that is rotatably supported at the other end in the front-rear direction on the side portion of the vehicle body 2.
[0012] The drive wheel 10 is rotatable by receiving a driving force from an engine or the like provided in the vehicle. As shown in FIG. 2, the drive wheel 10 includes a pair of sprockets 11 that are arranged to face each other with a constant interval in the width direction. The drive wheel 10 has the pair of sprockets 11 attached to the tip of a drive shaft extending from the vehicle.
[0013] Multiple teeth 12 (see Figure 3) are formed on the outer periphery of the sprocket 11 at regular intervals in the circumferential direction. These teeth 12 mesh with the drive projections 40 of the rubber crawler 20 to transmit rotational force to the rubber crawler 20. Inside the sprocket 11, a guide roller 13 is provided, which is arranged concentrically with the sprocket 11 to prevent it from coming off the rubber crawler 20.
[0014] A gap 15 is provided between the guide rollers 13 of the pair of sprockets 11, through which a guide projection 30, located in the widthwise center of the rubber crawler 20, can pass. As a result, the drive wheel 10 can transmit its rotational force to the rubber crawler 20 without derailing from the rubber crawler 20 due to the pair of guide rollers 13.
[0015] The rubber crawler 20 is a strip-shaped member formed endlessly from a rubber elastic material and is wrapped between the drive wheel 10 and the guide wheel 17. The rubber crawler 20 has drive projections 40 that engage with the teeth 12 of the sprocket 11 and guide projections 30 that engage with the gap 15 of the sprocket 11 and the gap 65 of the lower idler wheel 60.
[0016] Multiple lower wheels 60 are rotating bodies that roll on the inner circumferential surface of the lower portion 21 of the rubber crawler 20. Multiple upper wheels 70 are rotating bodies that roll on the inner circumferential surface of the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20. Since the structure of the upper wheels 70 and the lower wheels 60 is similar, the lower wheels 60 will be described below. However, when attaching the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1, the lower wheels 60 are attached to the vehicle body 2 in advance, whereas the upper wheels 70 are attached to the running gear 1 after the rubber crawler 20 has been attached to the vehicle body 2.
[0017] As shown in Figure 4, the lower road wheel 60 comprises a pair of road wheel bodies 61 arranged opposite each other with a certain distance between them in the width direction. The pair of road wheel bodies 61 are rotatably mounted on the tip of a support shaft (not shown) extending from the vehicle body.
[0018] The support shaft is supported so as to be movable in the vertical direction relative to the vehicle body. A rubber annular body 63 is attached to the outer circumferential surface of the road wheel body 61. This annular body 63 is capable of absorbing shocks received from the road surface. A gap 65 is provided between the pair of road wheel bodies 61, similar to the pair of sprockets 11, through which the guide projection 30 of the rubber crawler 20 can pass.
[0019] Next, the mounting jig 100 used in the mounting method of the rubber crawler 20 of this embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. Figure 5 is a perspective view showing the mounting jig 100. Figure 6 is a partially enlarged view of the drive wheel fixing part 120 and the drive wheel adjustment part 130. Figure 7 is a partially enlarged view of the guide wheel fixing part 140 and the guide wheel adjustment part 150.
[0020] The mounting jig 100 in this embodiment is a device for attaching the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1. The mounting jig 100 can also be used when removing the rubber crawler 20 that has been attached to the running gear 1.
[0021] As shown in Figure 5, the mounting jig 100 comprises a frame 110, a drive wheel fixing part 120, a drive wheel adjustment part 130, a guide wheel fixing part 140, a guide wheel adjustment part 150, a first support member 160, and a second support member 170.
[0022] The frame 110 is a housing to which drive wheels 10 and guide wheels 17, on which rubber crawlers 20 are wrapped, are attached, arranged along the longitudinal direction LD. The frame 110 has a first member 111, a second member 112, and a third member 113.
[0023] The first member 111 is a member that extends linearly along the longitudinal direction LD. The second member 112 is a member that extends linearly along the longitudinal direction LD. The second member 112 is positioned close to the installation surface on which the frame 110 is installed. The first member 111 is positioned parallel to the second member 112 and above the second member 112 in the vertical direction VD. The first member 111 and the second member 112 may be a single member, or they may be a plurality of members connected together.
[0024] The third member 113 extends linearly along the vertical direction VD and connects the first member 111 and the second member 112. Multiple third members 113 connect the first member 111 and the second member 112 at multiple locations along the longitudinal direction LD.
[0025] The drive wheel fixing part 120 is a member that is fixed to one end of the frame 110 in the longitudinal direction LD and to which the drive wheel 10 is attached. As shown in Figure 6, an opening hole 121 is formed in the drive wheel fixing part 120. The drive wheel fixing part 120 fixes the drive wheel 10, which is positioned close to the opening hole 121, by inserting bolts 122 into a plurality of through holes (not shown) formed around the opening hole 121 and rotating them.
[0026] The drive wheel fixing section 120 comprises a fixing section body 120a and a rotating body 120b that is rotatably mounted to the fixing section body 120a around axis X1. The drive wheel 10 is fixed to the rotating body 120b by bolts 122 inserted into opening holes 121 formed in the rotating body 120b. A rotating tool 123 is attached to the rotating body 120b for rotating the rotating body 120b together with the drive wheel 10 around axis X1. By using a jig (not shown) to rotate the rotating tool 123 around axis X1, the operator can rotate the drive wheel 10 and the rubber crawler 20 wrapped around the drive wheel 10.
[0027] The drive wheel adjustment unit 130 is a device for adjusting the position of the drive wheel 10 attached to the drive wheel fixing unit 120 in the longitudinal direction LD. As shown in Figure 6, the drive wheel adjustment unit 130 has a support frame 131, a horizontal adjustment unit 132, and a vertical adjustment unit 133. The support frame 131 is fixed to a third member 113 located at one end of the frame body 110 so as to be movable along the vertical direction VD. The support frame 131 is a member that supports the drive wheel fixing unit 120 so as to allow the drive wheel fixing unit 120 to move along the longitudinal direction LD, and so as to prevent the drive wheel fixing unit 120 from moving along the vertical direction VD.
[0028] The horizontal adjustment unit 132 is a device for adjusting the position of the longitudinal LD of the drive wheel 10 attached to the drive wheel fixing unit 120. The horizontal adjustment unit 132 is a screw-feed mechanism that displaces the position of the longitudinal LD of the drive wheel fixing unit 120 by power supplied by, for example, an operator. Alternatively, the horizontal adjustment unit 132 may displace the position of the longitudinal LD of the drive wheel fixing unit 120 by other power mechanisms such as an electric motor or a hydraulic cylinder.
[0029] The vertical adjustment unit 133 is a device for adjusting the vertical VD position of the drive wheel 10 attached to the drive wheel fixing unit 120. The vertical adjustment unit 133 adjusts the vertical VD position of the drive wheel 10 attached to the drive wheel fixing unit 120 by adjusting the vertical VD position of the support frame 131. The vertical adjustment unit 133 is a screw-feed mechanism that displaces the vertical VD position of the drive wheel fixing unit 120 by power supplied by, for example, an operator. Alternatively, the vertical adjustment unit 133 may displace the vertical VD position of the drive wheel fixing unit 120 by other power mechanisms such as an electric motor or a hydraulic cylinder.
[0030] The guide wheel fixing part 140 is a member that is fixed to the other end of the frame body 110 in the longitudinal direction LD and to which the guide wheel 17 is attached. As shown in Figure 7, an opening hole 141 is formed in the guide wheel fixing part 140. The guide wheel fixing part 140 fixes the guide wheel 17, which is positioned close to the opening hole 141, by inserting bolts 142 into a plurality of through holes (not shown) formed around the opening hole 141 and rotating them.
[0031] The guide wheel fixing section 140 comprises a fixing section body 140a and a rotating body 140b that is rotatably mounted to the fixing section body 140a around axis X2. The guide wheel 17 is fixed to the rotating body 140b by bolts 142 inserted into openings 141 formed in the rotating body 140b. A rotating tool 143 is attached to the rotating body 140b for rotating the rotating body 140b together with the guide wheel 17 around axis X2. By using a jig (not shown) to rotate the rotating tool 143 around axis X2, the operator can rotate the guide wheel 17 and the rubber crawler 20 wrapped around the guide wheel 17.
[0032] The guide wheel adjustment unit 150 is a device for adjusting the position of the guide wheel 17 attached to the guide wheel fixing unit 140 in the longitudinal direction LD. As shown in Figure 7, the guide wheel adjustment unit 150 has a support frame 151, a horizontal adjustment unit 152, and a vertical adjustment unit 153. The support frame 151 is fixed to a third member 113 located at the other end of the frame body 110 so as to be movable along the vertical direction VD. The support frame 151 is a member that supports the guide wheel fixing unit 140 so as to allow the guide wheel fixing unit 140 to move along the longitudinal direction LD, and so as to prevent the guide wheel fixing unit 140 from moving along the vertical direction VD.
[0033] The horizontal adjustment unit 152 is a device for adjusting the position of the longitudinal LD of the guide wheel 17 attached to the guide wheel fixing unit 140. The horizontal adjustment unit 152 is a screw-feed mechanism that displaces the position of the longitudinal LD of the guide wheel fixing unit 140 by power supplied by, for example, an operator. Alternatively, the horizontal adjustment unit 152 may displace the position of the longitudinal LD of the guide wheel fixing unit 140 by other power mechanisms such as an electric motor or a hydraulic cylinder.
[0034] The vertical adjustment unit 153 is a device for adjusting the vertical VD position of the guide wheel 17 attached to the guide wheel fixing unit 140. The vertical adjustment unit 153 adjusts the vertical VD position of the guide wheel 17 attached to the guide wheel fixing unit 140 by adjusting the vertical VD position of the support frame 151. The vertical adjustment unit 153 is a screw-feed mechanism that displaces the vertical VD position of the guide wheel fixing unit 140 by power supplied by, for example, an operator. Alternatively, the vertical adjustment unit 153 may displace the vertical VD position of the guide wheel fixing unit 140 by other power mechanisms such as an electric motor or a hydraulic cylinder.
[0035] Next, the method for attaching the rubber crawler in this embodiment will be described. Figure 8 is a flowchart showing the method for attaching the rubber crawler in this embodiment. In this embodiment, the rubber crawler 20 is attached to the running gear 1 by the processes shown in Figure 8.
[0036] In step S101 (arrangement step), the drive wheel 10 is positioned at one end of the longitudinal LD of the rubber crawler 20, and the guide wheel 17 is positioned at the other end of the longitudinal LD of the rubber crawler 20, resulting in the state shown in Figure 9. Figure 9 is a side view showing the rubber crawler 20 with the drive wheel 10 and guide wheel 17 positioned on it.
[0037] For example, a worker uses the forks of a forklift (not shown) to hold the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 and lift it upward along the vertical direction VD, thereby creating a gap CL between the upper portion 22 and the lower portion 21 of the rubber crawler 20. To maintain the gap CL and allow the rubber crawler 20 to move on the installation surface S along the longitudinal direction LD, pulleys 210 are placed at multiple locations along the longitudinal direction LD within the gap CL.
[0038] A pulley 220 is attached to the central axis of the drive wheel 10. A pulley 230 is attached to the central axis of the guide wheel 17. For example, an operator moves the rubber crawler 20 along the longitudinal direction LD by pulling the pulley 220 along the longitudinal direction LD with a vehicle such as a forklift, to the state shown in Figure 10. Figure 10 is a side view showing the rubber crawler 20 positioned along the longitudinal direction LD in close proximity to the mounting jig 100. Prior to performing step S102, the operator removes the pulley 220 attached to the drive wheel 10 and the pulley 230 attached to the guide wheel 17.
[0039] In step S102 (drive wheel mounting process), the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached to the drive wheel 10, and the drive wheel fixing part 120 is also attached to one end of the longitudinal direction LD of the mounting jig 100. The frame 110 of the mounting jig 100 has a drive wheel adjustment part 130 attached to it in advance. By attaching the drive wheel fixing part 120 to the drive wheel adjustment part 130, the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached to the mounting jig 100.
[0040] Figure 11 is a plan view of the mounting jig 100 shown in Figure 10, viewed from above. As shown in Figure 11, in step S102, the worker fixes the drive wheel fixing part 120 to the fork attachment 320 which is fixed to the fork 310 of the forklift 300. The worker also operates the forklift 400 so that the fork 410 of the forklift 400 holds one end of the upper part 22 of the rubber crawler 20 and lifts it upward along the vertical direction VD.
[0041] The worker moves the forklift 300 forward so that it is close to the frame 110, as shown in Figure 12. The worker also moves the forklift 400 forward so that it is close to the frame 110, as shown in Figure 12. Figure 12 is a plan view of the mounting jig 100 shown in Figure 10, viewed from above.
[0042] In the state shown in Figure 12, the worker inserts bolts 122 (see Figure 6) into each of the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the drive wheel 10 and the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the drive wheel fixing part 120, and fastens nuts (not shown) to the bolts 122 to attach the drive wheel fixing part 120 to the drive wheel 10. The worker also attaches the drive wheel fixing part 120 to the drive wheel adjustment part 130 fixed to the mounting jig 100, resulting in the state shown in Figure 13. Figure 13 is a side view showing the drive wheel fixing part 120 attached to one end of the longitudinal LD of the mounting jig 100.
[0043] As shown in Figure 13, the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached to the drive wheel adjustment part 130 at a position (shown by the dotted line in Figure 13) that is spaced further towards the center of the longitudinal LD of the frame 110 than one end of the longitudinal LD of the frame 110. Then, after the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached, the drive wheel adjustment part 130 moves the drive wheel fixing part 120 along the longitudinal LD of the frame 110 from the center to the end.
[0044] As shown in Figure 6, the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached to the support frame 131 of the drive wheel adjustment part 130 at a position spaced apart from the center of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110 (the position shown by the dotted line in Figure 6). Subsequently, the horizontal adjustment part 132 moves the drive wheel fixing part 120, while supported by the support frame 131, along the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110 from the center to the end.
[0045] The reason the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached to the drive wheel adjustment part 130 at a position further away from one end of the longitudinal LD of the frame 110 towards the center is to facilitate the attachment of the drive wheel fixing part 120 to the drive wheel adjustment part 130. By positioning the drive wheel fixing part 120 at a position further away from the center of the longitudinal LD of the frame 110, the tension of the rubber crawler 20 acting on the drive wheel 10 can be reduced.
[0046] In step S103 (guide wheel mounting process), the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the guide wheel 17, and the guide wheel fixing part 140 is also attached to the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the mounting jig 100. The frame 110 of the mounting jig 100 has a guide wheel adjustment part 150 attached to it in advance. By attaching the guide wheel fixing part 140 to the guide wheel adjustment part 150, the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the mounting jig 100.
[0047] Figure 14 is a plan view of the mounting jig 100 shown in Figure 10, viewed from above. As shown in Figure 14, in step S103, the worker fixes the guide wheel fixing part 140 to the fork attachment 320 which is fixed to the fork 310 of the forklift 300. The worker also operates the forklift 400 so that the other end of the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 is held by the fork 410 of the forklift 400 and lifted upward along the vertical direction VD.
[0048] The worker moves the forklift 300 forward so that it is close to the frame 110, as shown in Figure 15. The worker also moves the forklift 400 forward so that it is close to the frame 110, as shown in Figure 15. Figure 15 is a plan view of the mounting jig 100 shown in Figure 10, viewed from above.
[0049] In the state shown in Figure 15, the worker inserts bolts 142 (see Figure 7) into each of the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the guide wheel 17 and the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the guide wheel fixing part 140, and fastens nuts (not shown) to the bolts 142 to attach the guide wheel fixing part 140 to the guide wheel 17. The worker also attaches the guide wheel fixing part 140 to the guide wheel adjustment part 150 fixed to the mounting jig 100, resulting in the state shown in Figure 16. Figure 16 is a side view showing the state in which the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the mounting jig 100.
[0050] As shown in Figure 16, the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the guide wheel adjustment part 150 at a position (shown by the dotted line in Figure 16) that is spaced further towards the center of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110 than the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110. Then, after the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached, the guide wheel adjustment part 150 moves the guide wheel fixing part 140 along the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110 from the center side toward the end side.
[0051] As shown in Figure 7, the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the support frame 151 of the guide wheel adjustment part 150 at a position spaced apart from the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame body 110 toward the center (the position shown by the dotted line in Figure 7). Subsequently, the horizontal adjustment part 152 moves the guide wheel fixing part 140, while supported by the support frame 151, along the longitudinal direction LD of the frame body 110 from the center toward the end.
[0052] The reason the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the guide wheel adjustment part 150 at a position spaced further towards the center of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110 than the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110 is to facilitate the attachment of the guide wheel fixing part 140 to the guide wheel adjustment part 150. By positioning the guide wheel fixing part 140 at a position spaced further towards the center of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame 110, the tension of the rubber crawler 20 acting on the guide wheel 17 can be reduced.
[0053] In step S104 (tension adjustment step), the operator rotates the drive wheel 10 attached to the drive wheel fixing part 120 around axis X1 and the guide wheel 17 attached to the guide wheel fixing part 140 around axis X2 to adjust the tension of the rubber crawler 20. The operator rotates the drive wheel 10 and the rubber crawler 20 wrapped around the drive wheel 10 by rotating the rotating tool 123 around axis X1 using a jig (not shown). The operator also rotates the guide wheel 17 and the rubber crawler 20 wrapped around the guide wheel 17 by rotating the rotating tool 143 around axis X2 using a jig (not shown). By adjusting the tension of the rubber crawler 20, slack in the rubber crawler 20 can be suppressed.
[0054] In step S105 (transportation process), the worker operates the forklift 300 to transport the mounting jig 100, to which the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 are attached, to the running gear 1, to which the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 are not attached.
[0055] In step S105, the worker prepares to transport the mounting jig 100 to the travel device 1 before transporting the mounting jig 100 to the travel device 1. The worker operates the forklift 400 so that the forks 410 of the forklift 400 hold the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 and lift it upward along the vertical direction VD, to the state shown in Figure 17. Figure 17 is a side view showing the mounting jig 100 in the state where the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 has been lifted.
[0056] With the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 lifted, the worker fixes a pair of first retaining members 114, which are held by the forks 410, to the central portion of the first member 111 of the frame 110 in the longitudinal direction LD. The pair of first retaining members 114 are formed to extend in the width direction (horizontal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction LD) of the rubber crawler 20 and are positioned below the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20.
[0057] Furthermore, the worker fixes a plurality of second holding members 115 to the area of the frame 110 other than the central portion in the longitudinal direction LD of the first member 111, which will hold the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 from below. The plurality of second holding members 115 are members formed to extend in the width direction of the rubber crawler 20 (horizontal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction LD), and are positioned below the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20.
[0058] After fixing the pair of first retaining members 114 and the multiple second retaining members 115 to the first member 111 of the frame 110, the worker lowers the fork 410 that was lifting the rubber crawler 20 and operates the forklift 400 to move the fork 410 away from the mounting jig 100. As shown in Figure 17, the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 is held by the pair of first retaining members 114 and the multiple second retaining members 115. The worker removes the pulley 210 from the rubber crawler 20.
[0059] Next, the worker removes the first support member 160, which is close to the position where the pair of first retaining members 114 are to be placed, from the frame 110, and moves the forklift 300 to the side of the mounting jig 100 where the rubber crawler 20 is not placed. The worker operates the forklift 300 and inserts the forks 310 into the pair of first retaining members 114.
[0060] Furthermore, the operator operates the forklift 300 using the forks 310 to lift the pair of first retaining members 114 upward along the vertical direction VD. By lifting the pair of first retaining members 114 upward along the vertical direction VD, the mounting jig 100, the rubber crawler 20 attached to the mounting jig 100, the drive wheel 10, and the guide wheel 17 are all lifted from the mounting surface S.
[0061] Then, the worker operates the forklift 300 to transport the mounting jig 100, to which the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 are attached, to the running gear 1, to which the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 are not attached, to the state shown in Figure 18. Figure 18 is a plan view from above of the mounting jig 100 that has been transported to the running gear 1.
[0062] In step S106 (drive wheel fixing process), the drive wheel 10 is fixed to the drive wheel hub 10a, which fixes the drive wheel 10 to the running gear 1. The operator moves the forklift 300 from the state shown in Figure 18 to bring the drive wheel 10, which is fixed to the drive wheel fixing part 120, closer to the drive wheel hub 10a, to the state shown in Figure 19. Figure 19 is a plan view from above of the mounting jig 100 that has been transported to the running gear 1. The drive wheel hub 10a is attached to the drive shaft 10b of the running gear 1.
[0063] The operator adjusts the horizontal adjustment unit 132 and the vertical adjustment unit 133 while the drive wheel 10 is close to the drive wheel hub 10a, thereby aligning the longitudinal LD and vertical VD positions of the drive wheel 10's central axis with the longitudinal LD and vertical VD positions of the drive wheel hub 10a's central axis.
[0064] The worker aligns the central axis of the drive wheel 10 with the central axis of the drive wheel hub 10a, inserts bolts (not shown) into each of the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the drive wheel 10 and the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the drive wheel hub 10a, and fastens nuts (not shown) to the bolts to fix the drive wheel 10 to the drive wheel hub 10a.
[0065] In step S107 (guider wheel fixing process), the guide wheel 17 is fixed to the guide wheel hub 17a, which fixes the guide wheel 17 to the running gear 1. The operator moves the forklift 300 from the state shown in Figure 18 to bring the guide wheel 17, which is fixed to the guide wheel fixing part 140, closer to the guide wheel hub 17a, to the state shown in Figure 19. The guide wheel hub 17a is attached to the support shaft 17b of the running gear 1.
[0066] With the guide wheel 17 in close proximity to the guide wheel hub 17a, the worker adjusts the horizontal adjustment unit 152 and the vertical adjustment unit 153 to align the longitudinal LD and vertical VD positions of the central axis of the guide wheel 17 with the longitudinal LD and vertical VD positions of the central axis of the guide wheel hub 17a.
[0067] The worker aligns the central axis of the guide wheel 17 with the central axis of the guide wheel hub 17a, inserts bolts (not shown) into each of the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the guide wheel 17 and the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the guide wheel hub 17a, and fastens nuts (not shown) to the bolts to fix the guide wheel 17 to the guide wheel hub 17a.
[0068] In step S108 (drive wheel removal step), the worker removes the drive wheel 10, which is fixed to the drive wheel hub 10a, from the drive wheel fixing part 120. The worker removes the nuts (not shown) fastened to the bolts 122 and removes the bolts 122 (see Figure 6) that are inserted into the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the drive wheel 10 and the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the drive wheel fixing part 120.
[0069] In step S109 (guide wheel installation process), the worker removes the guide wheel 17, which is fixed to the guide wheel hub 17a, from the guide wheel fixing part 140. The worker removes the nuts (not shown) fastened to the bolts 142 and removes the bolts 142 (see Figure 7) that are inserted into the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the guide wheel 17 and the multiple through holes (not shown) formed in the guide wheel fixing part 140.
[0070] In step S110 (retraction process), the worker operates the forklift 300 to retract the mounting jig 100, which does not have the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 attached, from the running gear 1 to which the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 are attached.
[0071] After the worker moves the mounting jig 100 away from the running gear 1, the worker attaches the multiple upper wheels 70 to the running gear 1 (driven wheel mounting process). With the drive wheel 10 fixed to the drive wheel hub 10a and the guide wheel 17 fixed to the guide wheel hub 17a, the worker lifts the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 wrapped around the drive wheel 10 and guide wheel 17 upward in the vertical direction VD, and attaches the upper wheels 70 that support the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1.
[0072] The reason the upper road wheels 70 are attached to the running gear 1 after the rubber crawler 20 is to avoid the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 colliding with the upper road wheels 70 when attaching the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1. Figure 20 is a magnified view of the vicinity of the upper road wheels 70 of the running gear 1. The dotted line in Figure 20 shows the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 when the drive wheel 10, guide wheel 17, and rubber crawler 20 are attached to the running gear 1 using the mounting jig 100.
[0073] As shown in Figure 20, if the upper idler wheel 70 is left attached to the running gear 1, the upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 will collide with the upper idler wheel 70. Therefore, when attaching the drive wheel 10, the idler wheel 17, and the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1 using the mounting jig 100, the upper idler wheel 70 is removed from the running gear 1.
[0074] When the worker attaches multiple upper wheels 70 to the running gear 1, multiple lifting devices 500 lift the rubber crawler 20 along the vertical direction VD to above the mounting holes 71 for attaching the upper wheels 70. The lifting device 500 is a device that inserts a lifting belt 520 into a support member 510 positioned on the underside of the rubber crawler 20 and lifts the lifting belt 520 upward along the vertical direction VD using a lifting mechanism 530.
[0075] The worker uses the lifting device 500 to lift the rubber crawler 20 up to the mounting hole 71, and then attaches the upper wheel 70 to the mounting hole 71. After that, the worker removes the lifting device 500 from the rubber crawler 20. The upper portion 22 of the rubber crawler 20 is then supported by the upper wheel 70. Through the above steps S101 to S109, the rubber crawler 20 is attached to the running gear 1.
[0076] The above describes the procedure for attaching the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1. However, the procedure for removing the rubber crawler 20 from the running gear 1 is the reverse of the procedure for attaching the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1. The mounting jig 100 of this embodiment can be used not only for attaching the rubber crawler 20 to the running gear 1, but also for removing the running gear 1 from the rubber crawler 20.
[0077] The operation and effects of the rubber crawler mounting method of this embodiment, as described above, will now be explained. According to the rubber crawler mounting method of this embodiment, the drive wheel 10, which is located at one end of the longitudinal direction LD of the rubber crawler 20, is attached to the drive wheel fixing part 120, and the drive wheel fixing part 120 is attached to one end of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame body 110 of the mounting jig 100, thereby fixing the drive wheel 10 to the mounting jig 100. In addition, the guide wheel 17, which is located at the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the rubber crawler 20, is attached to the guide wheel fixing part 140, and the guide wheel fixing part 140 is attached to the other end of the longitudinal direction LD of the frame body 110 of the mounting jig 100, thereby fixing the guide wheel 17 to the mounting jig 100.
[0078] The mounting jig 100, to which the rubber crawler 20, drive wheel 10, and guide wheel 17 are attached, is transported to the running gear 1 by the transport process. The drive wheel 10 is fixed to the drive wheel hub 10a that secures the drive wheel 10 to the running gear 1, and the guide wheel 17 is fixed to the guide wheel hub 17a that secures the guide wheel 17 to the running gear 1. Then, the drive wheel 10 fixed to the drive wheel hub 10a is removed from the drive wheel fixing part 120, and the guide wheel 17 fixed to the guide wheel hub 17a is removed from the guide wheel fixing part 140, and the mounting jig 100 is moved away from the running gear 1.
