Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a jig for applying a sealant used when adhering an edge material for attaching a glass plate to a mullion to the glass plate.

Background Art

[0002] One method of attaching a glass plate to the building body side of a curtain wall (for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2) is the SSG method (structural sealant glazing system). In the SSG method, a fitting (edge material) for attaching a glass plate to a mullion (vertical rail) or the like and the glass plate are adhered with a structural sealant (sealant). The edge material is adhered along the edge to the inner surface of the glass plate in the building, and is a long member (long member) that covers one side of the glass plate with one piece.

[0003] When adhering the glass plate and the edge material, in order to ensure the required adhesive strength, the application range of the sealant between the glass plate and the edge material must be appropriately controlled. Therefore, conventionally, the following steps have been taken when applying the sealant.

[0004] First, block-shaped piece jigs are sandwiched at several locations between the glass plate and the edge material, and the two are opposed at an appropriate interval to form a gap. Next, the glass plate and the edge material are sandwiched at several locations in the thickness direction with a vise or the like. Next, a long angled-through jig is applied along the long side on the opposite side of the edge side of the glass plate of the edge material, and this is also sandwiched and fixed in the thickness direction together with the glass material with a vise or the like. The through jig forms an abutment in the gap between the glass plate and the edge material. Next, a paste-like sealant is filled (injected) into the gap between the glass plate and the edge material from the opening on the edge side of the glass plate. Next, when the sealant has cured to an appropriate hardness, the piece jig is removed from the gap, and the sealant is filled into the space where the removed piece jig was located. Finally, the vise and the through jig are removed.

[0005] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2013-249653 [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2011-111833 [Overview of the Initiative] [Problems that the invention aims to solve]

[0006] By the way, the conventional process described above is time-consuming and complicated because it involves the effort of setting up numerous jigs and vises between the glass plate and the edge material, as well as the fact that the sealing material is filled in multiple stages.

[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above, and aims to provide a jig for applying a sealant that can improve the efficiency of applying a sealant to bond a glass plate and an edge material. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] To solve the above-mentioned problems and achieve the objective, the sealing material application jig according to the present invention is characterized by comprising: a fixed portion which is sandwiched together with the glass plate by a holder in the thickness direction of the glass plate and fixed to the glass plate; an edge material holding portion which holds an edge material for attaching the glass plate to a mullion; and a sealing material thickness defining portion which positions the edge material holding portion at a predetermined distance from the glass plate and defines the dimensions of at least the thickness direction of the glass plate of the area to which the sealing material is filled.

[0009] Furthermore, in the invention described above, another sealing material application jig according to the present invention is characterized in that the sealing material thickness defining portion defines the thickness of the sealing material and also constitutes a stopper for the gap to be filled with the sealing material.

[0010] Furthermore, another sealing material application jig according to the present invention is characterized in that, in the invention described above, the fixed portion comprises a base portion having a flat portion along the inner surface of the glass plate and being pressed against the glass plate; a pressed portion having a flat portion facing the base portion and receiving a tightening force from the holder in the thickness direction of the glass plate; and a column portion connecting the base portion and the pressed portion, standing between the base portion and the pressed portion in the thickness direction of the glass plate.

[0011] Furthermore, in the invention described above, another sealing material application jig is characterized in that the sealing material thickness defining portion is a portion that rises in a direction intersecting the flat portion of the base portion, and the edge material holding portion that holds the edge material is positioned at a predetermined distance from the flat portion of the base portion. [Effects of the Invention]

[0012] The sealing material application jig according to the present invention comprises a fixed portion which is sandwiched together with the glass plate by a holder in the thickness direction of the glass plate and fixed to the glass plate, an edge material holding portion which holds an edge material for attaching the glass plate to a mullion, and a sealing material thickness defining portion which positions the edge material holding portion at a predetermined distance from the glass plate and defines the dimensions of at least the thickness direction of the glass plate in the area to which the sealing material is filled. Therefore, with this single jig, the edge material can be positioned with a predetermined gap from the glass plate and the dimensions of at least the thickness direction of the glass plate in the area to which the sealing material is filled can be defined. As a result, the effort required to set up the jig is reduced compared to conventional methods, and the time required can be shortened because the filling of the sealing material does not require multiple stages as in conventional methods. In other words, it has the effect of making the application of sealing material that adheres the glass plate and the edge material more efficient.

[0013] Furthermore, according to another sealing material application jig of the present invention, the sealing material thickness defining portion defines the thickness of the sealing material and also constitutes the abutment for the gap to be filled with the sealing material. This provides the effect of defining not only the spread of the sealing material in the thickness direction but also the degree to which the sealing material spreads along the surface of the glass plate.

[0014] Furthermore, according to another sealing material application jig of the present invention, the fixed portion comprises a base portion having a flat portion along the inner surface of the glass plate and being pressed against the glass plate, a pressed portion having a flat portion facing the base portion and receiving a tightening force from the holder in the thickness direction of the glass plate, and a column portion connecting the base portion and the pressed portion, standing between the base portion and the pressed portion in the thickness direction of the glass plate, thereby providing the effect of effectively utilizing the holding force of the holder.

[0015] Furthermore, according to another sealing material application jig of the present invention, the sealing material thickness defining portion is a portion that rises in a direction intersecting the flat portion of the base portion, and the edge material holding portion that holds the edge material is positioned at a predetermined distance from the flat portion of the base portion, thereby providing the effect of defining the dimensions of the sealing material in the thickness direction of the glass plate while also defining the dimensions of the sealing material in the direction along the surface of the glass plate. BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

[0017] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the jig for applying the sealing material according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited by this embodiment.

[0018] FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a curtain wall, and shows an example of the attachment structure of the glass plate 10 to the mullion (vertical mullion) 20. This figure shows a state of looking down from above a cross-section of the curtain wall cut in the horizontal direction. For convenience of explanation, a three-dimensional orthogonal coordinate system composed of the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis is attached to the figure and used for explanation. In the figure, the direction indicated by the arrow is the positive direction. Also, the explanation will be made with the outdoor side surface of the glass plate 10 as the front. The X-axis is the horizontal direction (the direction from left to right is the positive direction) toward the front of the glass plate 10 of the curtain wall, the Y-axis is the depth direction (the direction from the outdoor to the indoor is the positive direction) toward the front of the glass plate 10 of the curtain wall, and the Z-axis is the height direction (vertical direction) of the curtain wall.

[0019] The curtain wall includes a glass plate 10, a mullion 20, an indoor 30 side panel 31, an edge material 40, and a sealing material 50. Note that the glass plate 10 of the present embodiment is a double-layer glass. The glass plates 10 are arranged in a plurality in the horizontal and vertical directions to form an outer wall.

[0020] The mullion 20 is a rectangular prism-shaped member that is long in the height direction of the curtain wall, and has holding parts 21 and 22 on the front surface. The holding parts 21 and 22 mainly hold the position of the glass plate 10 in the depth direction (Y-axis direction). The cross-sectional shape in a cross-sectional plan view is hook-shaped, and holds the edge material 40 adhered to the glass plate 10 in a hooked state.

[0021] The edge material 40 is a member that is long in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) (see FIG. 2), and the cross-sectional shape in a cross-sectional plan view is hook-shaped in the opposite direction to the holding parts 21 and 22. The edge material 40 is adhered to the edge of the glass plate 10 by a sealant 50. The sealant 50 adheres the edge material 40 and the glass plate 10, and is filled between the glass plate 10 and the edge material 40 facing each other at a predetermined interval. The sealant 50 is in a paste state during filling, and then cures into a rubber state by a chemical reaction or drying.

[0022] The panel 31 that divides the interior 30 faces the glass plate 10 with the mullion 20 interposed therebetween, and fills the space between the edges on the interior 30 side of adjacent mullions 20.

[0023] Next, FIG. 2 is a front view showing the positional relationship among the glass plate 10, the edge material 40, the jig 60 for applying the sealant, the vise 71, and the clip 72. Here, the vise 71 is an example of a holding tool that holds the jig 60 for applying the sealant together with the glass plate 10 in the thickness direction of the glass plate 10. The clip 72 is an example of a second holding tool that holds a plurality of locations in the longitudinal direction (Z-axis direction) between the jig 60 for applying the sealant and the edge material 40. In this embodiment, when adhering the edge material 40 to the glass plate 10 that constitutes the curtain wall, the efficiency of the work is improved by using the jig 60 for applying the sealant.

[0024] The jig 60 for applying the sealant is a long member, and is fixed to the indoor side surface of the glass plate 10 by the vise 71 along the left and right sides of the glass plate 10. The edge material 40 is fixed to the jig 60 for applying the sealant by the clip 72.

[0025] Figure 3 is an enlarged view of the area indicated by the dashed circle in Figure 2, showing an example of how the vise 71 and clip 72 are attached to the sealant application jig 60. Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view of the area indicated by line AA in Figure 3, showing an example of how the sealant application jig 60 is fixed to the glass plate 10.

[0026] The sealing material application jig 60 comprises a base portion 61, a column portion 62, and a pressed portion 63. The base portion 61, the column portion 62, and the pressed portion 63 are the parts that are clamped by the vise 71 and constitute an example of a fixed portion 69 that is fixed to the glass plate 10. The vise 71 fixes the sealing material application jig 60 to the glass plate 10 at multiple points in the longitudinal direction (Z-axis direction).

[0027] The base portion 61 is a part having a flat portion 611 that is along the inner surface of the glass plate 10 and is pressed against the glass plate 10. The clamped portion 63 is a part that receives a clamping force from the vise 71 in the thickness direction of the glass plate 10 and has a flat portion 631 that is substantially parallel to the flat portion 611 of the base portion 61. The column portion 62 is a part that connects the base portion 61 and the clamped portion 63 and stands between the base portion 61 and the clamped portion 63 in the thickness direction of the glass plate 10.

[0028] Next, Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view of the area indicated by the BB line in Figure 3, and shows an example of the state in which the edge material 40 is fixed to the sealant application jig 60. The edge material 40 is long along the Z-axis direction and has a roughly J-shaped cross-section along the XY plane, and is equipped with a sealant adhesive portion 41, a rising portion 42, and a hook portion 43.

[0029] The sealant bonding portion 41 is the part that comes into contact with the sealant 50 and has a flat portion 411 that is opposite (preferably substantially parallel) to the inner surface of the glass plate 10. The width (dimension in the X-axis direction) of the sealant bonding portion 41 is determined by the required adhesive strength of the sealant 50.

[0030] The hook portion 43 is a plate-shaped portion that is opposite (preferably substantially parallel) to the sealant adhesive portion 41 and is held in a hooked state by the holding portions 21 and 22. The rising portion 42 is a portion that connects the sealant adhesive portion 41 and the hook portion 43 and stands in the thickness direction of the glass plate 10 between the sealant adhesive portion 41 and the hook portion 43.

[0031] Furthermore, the sealant application jig 60 also includes a sealant thickness regulating section 64 and an edge material holding section 65.

[0032] The edge material holding portion 65 has a shape that is smaller than the edge material 40 by the thickness of the edge material 40, and holds the edge material 40 by surrounding its outer circumference. More specifically, the edge material holding portion 65 comprises a first portion 651 that contacts the seal material adhesive portion 41, a second portion 652 that faces the rising portion 42, and a third portion 653 that contacts the hook portion 43. The width (dimension in the X-axis direction) of the first portion 651 is set to be slightly smaller than the width of the seal material adhesive portion 41. Also, the first portion 651 is approximately perpendicular to the seal material thickness defining portion 64.

[0033] Here, the clip 72 secures the edge material 40 to the sealant application jig 60 by clamping both the third portion 653 of the edge material holding portion 65 and the overlapping hook portion 43. The clip 72 secures the edge material 40 to the sealant application jig 60 at multiple points along its longitudinal direction (Z-axis direction).

[0034] The sealant thickness defining portion 64 is a plate-shaped portion that rises from the base portion 61 in a direction intersecting (preferably approximately perpendicular) to the planar portion 611 of the base portion 61. The side of this sealant thickness defining portion 64 furthest from the base portion 61 is connected to the first portion 651 of the edge material holding portion 65. The sealant 50 is filled from the opening 51 into the area enclosed by the base portion 61, the sealant thickness defining portion 64, and the first portion 651 of the edge material holding portion 65. The opening 51 is the portion sandwiched between the edge of the glass plate 10 and the edge of the edge material 40 located above it, and is the portion facing the sealant thickness defining portion 64, and is the portion in which the gap into which the sealant 50 is filled is continuous with the external space.

[0035] Such a sealant thickness defining section 64 defines the thickness of the sealant 50 (dimension in the Y-axis direction) and also defines the range in which the sealant 50 is filled by forming a stopper in the gap for filling with the sealant 50. The thickness of the sealant 50 defined by the dimensions of the sealant thickness defining section 64 is determined by the required adhesive strength of the sealant 50.

[0036] The edge material 40 and the sealant application jig 60 are both made of extruded aluminum. The sealant application jig 60 is further processed to remove the column portion 62 and the pressed portion 63 that interfere with the clip 72. By using an extruded aluminum profile for the sealant application jig 60, a jig with good dimensional accuracy can be obtained at a relatively low cost.

[0037] In this configuration, when bonding the edge material 40 to the glass plate 10 with the sealant 50, first the edge material 40 is attached to the edge material holding part 65 of the sealant application jig 60 and secured with a clip 72.

[0038] Next, the raised portion 42 of the edge material 40 attached to the sealant application jig 60 is aligned with the edge of the glass plate 10, and the base portion 61 of the sealant application jig 60 is placed on the indoor side of the glass plate 10. Then, the vise 71 is placed against the pressed portion 63 of the sealant application jig 60 and the outdoor side of the glass plate 10, clamping and pressing down on the glass plate 10 and the sealant application jig 60.

[0039] Next, the gap enclosed by the glass plate 10, the sealant thickness specified portion 64, and the sealant adhesive portion 41 is filled with sealant 50 through the opening 51 (see Figures 4 and 5). Once the sealant 50 has hardened to the predetermined state, the clip 72, vise 71, and sealant application jig 60 are removed in that order.

[0040] As described above, the sealant application jig 60 of this embodiment allows the edge material 40 to be held in a floating position relative to the glass plate 10, and a stopper can be provided in the gap between the glass plate 10 and the edge material 40 where the sealant 50 is filled. Furthermore, the sealant application jig 60 reduces the number of jigs used compared to conventional methods. In addition, the sealant application jig 60 does not divide the gap where the sealant 50 is filled, unlike conventional piece jigs. As a result, the number of steps required to adhere the edge material 40 to the glass plate 10 with the sealant 50 can be reduced, and the efficiency of the work can be improved.

[0041] As described above, the sealing material application jig according to the present invention comprises a fixed portion which is sandwiched together with the glass plate by a holder in the thickness direction of the glass plate and fixed to the glass plate, an edge material holding portion which holds an edge material for attaching the glass plate to the mullion, and a sealing material thickness defining portion which positions the edge material holding portion at a predetermined distance from the glass plate and defines the dimensions of at least the thickness direction of the glass plate in the area to which the sealing material is filled. Therefore, with this single jig, it is possible to position the edge material with a predetermined gap from the glass plate and define the dimensions of at least the thickness direction of the glass plate in the area to which the sealing material is filled. As a result, the effort required to set up the jig is reduced compared to conventional methods, and the time required can be shortened because the filling of the sealing material does not require multiple stages as in conventional methods. In other words, the application of the sealing material that adheres the glass plate and the edge material can be made more efficient.

[0042] Furthermore, according to another sealing material application jig of the present invention, the sealing material thickness defining portion defines the thickness of the sealing material and also constitutes the abutment of the gap for filling the sealing material. Therefore, it is possible to define not only the spread of the sealing material in the thickness direction but also the degree to which the sealing material spreads in the direction along the surface of the glass plate.

[0043] Furthermore, according to another sealing material application jig of the present invention, the fixed portion comprises a base portion having a flat portion along the inner surface of the glass plate and being pressed against the glass plate, a pressed portion having a flat portion facing the base portion and receiving a tightening force from the holder in the thickness direction of the glass plate, and a column portion connecting the base portion and the pressed portion, standing between the base portion and the pressed portion in the thickness direction of the glass plate, so that the holding force from the holder can be effectively utilized.

[0044] Furthermore, according to another sealing material application jig of the present invention, the sealing material thickness defining portion is a portion that rises in a direction intersecting the flat portion of the base portion, and the edge material holding portion that holds the edge material is positioned at a predetermined distance from the flat portion of the base portion, so that the dimensions of the sealing material in the thickness direction of the glass plate can be defined while also defining the dimensions of the sealing material in the direction along the surface of the glass plate. [Industrial applicability]

[0045] As described above, the sealing material application jig according to the present invention is useful for the application of sealing material that adheres glass plates and edge materials, and is particularly suitable for improving the efficiency of the application process.
