AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing flow channel chips face difficulties in handling due to external devices protruding from the surface, interfering with observations and operations, such as optical microscopy.

Method used

An interface comprising an elastic first member and a supporting second member, with specific channel configurations that prevent external devices from protruding by connecting them off-center, allowing for seamless integration with the flow channel chip.

Benefits of technology

The interface effectively suppresses external device protrusion, enabling closer placement of optical microscopes and other equipment, enhancing handling and reducing fluid leakage, thus expanding the chip's usability.

Abstract

To provide an interface for connecting the flow path of a flow path chip and an external apparatus, capable of suppressing the external apparatus from protruding from the surface of the flow path chip.SOLUTION: An interface according to the present invention is configured to: contact a flow path chip; and connect a flow path of the flow path chip and an external apparatus. The interface comprises a first member being elastic and a second member supporting the first member. The first member includes a first flow path for communicating with the flow path and a second flow path for communicating with the external apparatus, the first and the second flow paths communicating with each other. The second flow path is disposed so as to be separated from the center of gravity of the flow path chip as proceeding toward an end on the external apparatus side from an end on the first flow path side in a plan view where the interface is in contact with the flow path chip.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
