AI Technical Summary
Existing drainage pumps experience contact noise from the snap-fit portion due to vibrations during motor rotation, which is not effectively suppressed by current sealing configurations.
The drainage pump incorporates an annular seal component housed in an accommodating portion with pressing portions that press the seal component in both the axial and radial directions, ensuring it is held firmly across the entire circumferential area, thereby preventing relative movement between the cover and housing, and includes conical surfaces for enhanced sealing and noise suppression.
This configuration effectively suppresses contact noise from the snap-fit portion during motor rotation by ensuring the seal component is securely pressed in both axial and radial directions, reducing relative movement and noise generation.
Abstract
Description
drainage pump
[0001] The present disclosure relates to drainage pumps.
[0002] In a drainage pump, a rotating impeller that is rotated by a motor to suck up water and discharge it to the outside is housed in a pump chamber, and a cover and a housing that constitute the pump chamber are connected to each other by a snap fit (see JP 2010-275972 A and JP 2013-167234 A).Watertightness between the cover and the housing is ensured by a sealing part (O-ring).
[0003] The snap fit described above is a structure in which the cover and housing engage in the axial direction of the rotating impeller (pump body). However, if the seal component only contacts the cover and housing in the radial direction of the housing, the reaction force of the seal component does not act in the axial direction, and the seal component cannot suppress the relative axial movement between the cover and housing. In addition, if there is an axial gap in the snap fit, contact noise may be generated from the snap fit when vibration occurs due to motor rotation.
[0004] The present disclosure aims to suppress the generation of contact noise from snap-fit portions in a drainage pump.
[0005] The drainage pump according to the first aspect comprises a rotating impeller, a cover, a housing which together with the cover forms a pump chamber that accommodates the rotating impeller and is connected to the cover in the axial direction of the rotating impeller by a snap fit, an annular sealing component, and a storage section which is formed by the cover and the housing and is located radially outward of the pump chamber and which accommodates the annular sealing component, and the storage section has a pressing section which presses the sealing component in the axial and radial directions.
[0006] In this drainage pump, a sealing component that seals between the cover and the housing is housed in a housing. The housing has a pressing portion that presses the sealing component in the axial and radial directions of the rotating impeller. In other words, the sealing component is clamped and pressed by the pressing portion in the axial and radial directions of the rotating impeller. This suppresses relative movement between the cover and the housing in the axial and radial directions of the rotating impeller. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to motor rotation, contact noise from the snap-fit portion is suppressed.
[0007] In a second aspect, in the drainage pump according to the first aspect, the pressing portions are provided at a plurality of positions in a circumferential direction along the rotation direction of the rotary vanes.
[0008] In a third aspect, in the drainage pump according to the first aspect, the pressing portion is provided over the entire circumferential area along the rotation direction of the rotary vane.
[0009] In this drainage pump, a sealing component that seals between the cover and the housing is housed in a housing. The housing has pressing portions that press the sealing component in the axial and radial directions of the rotating impeller over the entire circumferential area along the rotation direction of the rotating impeller. In other words, the sealing component is clamped and pressed in the axial and radial directions of the rotating impeller by the pressing portions that cover the entire circumferential area of the housing. This suppresses relative movement between the cover and the housing in the axial and radial directions of the rotating impeller. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to motor rotation, contact noise from the snap-fit portion is suppressed.
[0010] In a fourth aspect, in a drainage pump according to any one of the first to third aspects, at least one of the portion of the cover that constitutes the pressing portion and the portion of the housing that constitutes the pressing portion has a conical surface.
[0011] In this drainage pump, the conical surface can press the seal component in the axial and radial directions of the rotary vanes.
[0012] In a fifth aspect, in the drainage pump according to the fourth aspect, the portion of the cover that constitutes the pressing portion has an outer peripheral surface along the axial direction and a lower surface that intersects with the axial direction, the portion of the housing that constitutes the pressing portion has a conical inner surface that faces the outer peripheral surface and the lower surface, and the sealing part abuts against the outer peripheral surface, the lower surface, and the conical inner surface.
[0013] In this drainage pump, the seal components abut against the outer and underside of the cover and the conical inner surface of the housing, thereby suppressing relative movement between the cover and the housing in the axial and radial directions of the motor, thereby suppressing contact noise from the snap-fit parts even if vibrations occur due to motor rotation.
[0014] In a sixth aspect, in the drainage pump according to the fourth aspect, the part of the housing that constitutes the pressing portion has an inner circumferential surface along the axial direction and an upper surface that intersects with the axial direction, the part of the cover that constitutes the pressing portion has a conical outer surface that faces the inner circumferential surface and the upper surface, and the sealing part abuts against the inner circumferential surface, the upper surface, and the conical outer surface.
[0015] In this drainage pump, the seal components abut against the inner and upper surfaces of the housing and the conical outer surface of the cover, thereby suppressing relative movement between the cover and the housing in the axial and radial directions of the motor, thereby suppressing contact noise from the snap-fit portions even if vibrations occur due to motor rotation.
[0016] In a seventh aspect, in a drainage pump according to any one of the first to third aspects, the portion of the cover that constitutes the pressing portion has an outer peripheral surface along the axial direction and a lower surface that intersects with the axial direction, the portion of the housing that constitutes the pressing portion has an inner peripheral surface along the axial direction and an upper surface that intersects with the axial direction, and the sealing part is formed in a cross-section and abuts against the outer peripheral surface, the lower surface, the inner peripheral surface and the upper surface.
[0017] In this drainage pump, the seal components, which are shaped like a cross in cross section, contact the outer and lower surfaces of the cover and the inner and upper surfaces of the housing, thereby restricting relative movement between the cover and the housing in the axial and radial directions of the motor. This reduces contact noise from the snap-fit parts even when vibrations occur due to motor rotation.
[0018] In an eighth aspect, in a drainage pump according to any one of the first to third aspects, the portion of the cover that constitutes the pressing portion has an outer peripheral surface along the axial direction and a lower surface that intersects with the axial direction, the portion of the housing that constitutes the pressing portion has an inner peripheral surface along the axial direction that is smaller in axial dimension than the outer peripheral surface, and an upper surface that intersects with the axial direction, the sealing part abuts against the outer peripheral surface, the lower surface, the inner peripheral surface and the upper surface, and a space is provided between the cover and the housing to allow deformation of the sealing part due to thermal expansion.
[0019] In this drainage pump, the seal components abut against the outer and lower surfaces of the cover and the inner and upper surfaces of the housing, thereby suppressing relative movement between the cover and the housing in the axial and radial directions of the motor. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to motor rotation, the generation of contact noise from the snap-fit portion is suppressed. Furthermore, the space provided between the cover and the housing allows for deformation of the seal components due to thermal expansion.
[0020] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to suppress the generation of contact noise from snap-fit portions in a drainage pump.

[0023] In the drawings, the direction of arrow X indicates the axial direction of a motor 16, which will be described later, and the direction of arrow R indicates the radial direction of the motor 16. In this embodiment, the axial direction of the motor 16 is the same as the axial direction of a rotary impeller 51, which will be described later, and the up-down direction of the drainage pump 1, and the radial direction of the motor 16 is the same as the radial direction of the rotary impeller 51. In the up-down direction, the side of a cover 10, which will be described later, is the upper direction, and the side of an inlet 18 of a housing 12, which will be described later, is the lower direction.
[0024] 1 to 4, a drainage pump 1 according to this embodiment is configured to suck up drain water accumulated in a drain pan and discharge it outdoors. The drainage pump 1 has a motor unit 15 and a pump body 50. The motor unit 15 drives the pump body 50 to suck up and discharge water. In this embodiment, the drainage pump 1 has a cover 10. The cover 10 constitutes a part of the motor unit 15 and also constitutes a part of the pump body 50. The cover 10 has an upper cover 30 and a lower cover 20. The upper cover 30 constitutes a part of the motor unit 15. The lower cover 20 constitutes a part of the pump body 50.
[0025] The motor unit 15 has a motor 16 and an upper cover 30 that houses the motor 16 .
[0026] The pump body 50 includes a rotary vane 51 , a lower cover 20 , a housing 12 , an O-ring 14 as an example of a sealing part, and a housing portion 40 .
[0027] The lower cover 20 is an example of a cover provided at the opening at the upper end of the housing 12. The lower cover 20 is, for example, a cylindrical, bottomed member made of synthetic resin that is attached to the upper part (upper opening) of the housing 12 via an O-ring 14. The bottom of the lower cover 20 forms the upper surface of the pump chamber. The lower cover 20 is provided with an engaged portion 22B that engages with a snap fit arm 22A provided on the housing 12. The lower cover 20 is detachably attached to the housing 12 by a snap fit function that utilizes the elastic force of the snap fit arm 22A.
[0028] A motor 16 consisting of a stator, rotor, etc. is mounted on the upper part of the lower cover 20. A lead wire outlet 24 for extracting lead wires from the motor 16 is exposed to the outside. The drive shaft of the motor 16 is connected to the rotating shaft of a rotary impeller 51 disposed in the pump chamber 21. A hole is formed in the bottom of the lower cover 20 to accommodate a transmission member that transmits the rotation of the motor 16 to the rotary impeller 51.
[0029] A short cylindrical upper cover (also referred to as a motor cover) 30 made of synthetic resin and having a ceiling is attached to the upper part (upper opening) of the lower cover 20. The upper cover 30 is detachably attached to the lower cover 20 by a snap-fit function that utilizes the elastic force of snap-fit arms 26 provided on the upper cover 30. The upper cover 30 is provided with a plurality of mounting portions 28 for installing the drainage pump 1 at an installation location.
[0030] The housing 12 is a member made of, for example, synthetic resin, which is connected to the lower cover 20 in the axial direction X of the motor 16 by snap fits 22 and constitutes a pump chamber. The housing 12 accommodates a rotary impeller 51. The rotary impeller 51 is driven by the motor 16 to rotate, thereby sucking up water and discharging it to the outside. The housing 12 is formed with a tubular suction port 18 provided at the bottom of the pump chamber and a tubular discharge port 19 extending laterally from the pump chamber.
[0031] Snap-fit arms 22A are provided at multiple locations around the circumference of the upper edge of the housing 12. The snap-fit arms 22A have elastically deformable claws that allow them to engage with and disengage from engaged portions 22B of the lower cover 20. The snap-fit arms 22A and the engaged portions 22B of the lower cover 20 form snap fits 22.
[0032] In FIG. 3, the O-ring 14 is a member that is pressed and sandwiched between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and radial direction R of the motor 16, respectively, to provide a seal between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12.
[0033] The housing 12 and lower cover 20 configured in this manner have a spigot-joint structure. As the spigot-joint structure, the lower cover 20 has a cylindrical portion 41, for example, on the outer periphery of the lower surface 20B. The outer periphery of the housing 12 is configured so that the cylindrical portion 41 can be disposed therein when the lower cover 20 is attached to the housing 12 to form the pump chamber 21. The housing 12 has, for example, a recess 42 as a structure so that the cylindrical portion 41 can be disposed therein.
[0034] The accommodation portion 40 is formed by the housing 12 and the lower cover 20 and is located outside the pump chamber 21 in the radial direction of the rotary vane 51. The accommodation portion 40 accommodates the O-ring 14. For example, the accommodation portion 40 is provided in a spigot portion, which is a portion provided with a spigot structure. The accommodation portion 40 includes, for example, a cylindrical portion 41 and its periphery provided on one of the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20 and the upper surface 12B of the housing 12, and an annular recess 42 provided on the other and accommodating a part or all of the cylindrical portion 41. In the present embodiment, as an example, the cylindrical portion 41 is formed on the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20, and the recess 42 is formed on the upper surface 12B of the housing 12. In the present embodiment, the recess 42 is formed by the upper edge portion of the housing 12 and the space therein. When the lower cover 20 is assembled to the housing 12, the cylindrical portion 41 of the lower cover 20 is positioned inside the upper edge portion of the recess 42 of the housing 12. The upper surface 12B of the housing 12 is the surface that faces the lower cover 20 in the axial direction X of the motor 16.
[0035] The accommodating portion 40 has pressing portions that press the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R, for example, at at least three locations in the circumferential direction along the rotation direction of the rotary impeller 51. Among the at least three pressing portions, the accommodating portion 40 presses the O-ring 14 in the radial direction R between two pressing portions that are adjacent in the circumferential direction. That is, the accommodating portion 40 presses the O-ring 14 in the radial direction R over the entire circumferential area along the rotation direction of the rotary impeller 51. In this way, the accommodating portion 40 presses the O-ring 14 in the radial direction R over the entire circumferential area along the rotation direction of the rotary impeller 51, thereby sealing off water between the housing 12 and the lower cover 20 by the O-ring 14. The accommodating portion 40 presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X over at least three locations in the circumferential direction. Alternatively, the accommodating portion 40 is configured such that the entire circumferential area along the rotation direction of the rotary impeller 51 serves as a pressing portion. In this embodiment, the entire circumferential area of the accommodation portion 40 in the direction of rotation of the rotary vanes 51 is configured as a pressing portion.
[0036] The portion of the lower cover 20 that constitutes the accommodation section 40 has an outer peripheral surface 20A of the cylindrical section 41 and a lower surface 20B that intersects with the axial direction X, as an example of a pressing section. The outer peripheral surface 20A is, for example, a surface that follows the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 20A is, for example, parallel to the axial direction X. As an example, the outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B are perpendicular to each other. The lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20 is a surface that faces the housing 12 in the axial direction X of the motor 16.
[0037] Furthermore, the portion of the housing 12 that constitutes the accommodating portion 40 has a conical inner surface 12C, which serves as an example of a pressing portion, that faces the outer surface 20A and the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20. The conical inner surface 12C is the inner surface of the recess 42, and is continuous around the entire circumference in the circumferential direction that follows the rotation direction of the rotary vanes 51. The conical inner surface 12C constitutes a part of the recess 42.
[0038] The O-ring 14 abuts against the outer peripheral surface 20A and lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20, and the conical inner surface 12C of the housing 12. A reaction force F1 acts from the O-ring 14 on the conical inner surface 12C of the housing 12. The reaction force F1 can be broken down into a component force F1x in the axial direction X and a component force F1r in the radial direction R. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 on the housing 12.
[0039] Furthermore, a reaction force F2r in the radial direction R acts from the O-ring 14 to the outer peripheral surface 20A of the lower cover 20. A reaction force F2x in the axial direction X acts from the O-ring 14 to the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 to the lower cover 20.
[0040] In this manner, the O-ring 14 is pressed and held between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R, respectively.
[0041] A gap S is formed between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X. By forming the gap S in this portion, the gap in the axial direction X between the snap fit arm 22A and the engaged portion 22B of the snap fit 22 is reduced (see FIG. 1).
[0042] (Operation) This embodiment is configured as described above, and its operation will be described below. As shown in FIG. 3 , in the drainage pump 1 according to this embodiment, the O-ring 14 that seals between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 is accommodated in the accommodation portion 40. The entire circumferential area of the accommodation portion 40, which is aligned with the rotational direction of the rotary impeller 51, is configured as a pressing portion that presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and radial direction R of the rotary impeller 51. In other words, the O-ring 14 is pressed and sandwiched between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and radial direction R, respectively, over the entire circumferential area of the accommodation portion 40. Specifically, the O-ring 14 abuts against the outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20 and the conical inner surface 12C of the housing 12. Furthermore, a gap in the axial direction X between the snap-fit arm 22A and the engaged portion 22B of the snap fit 22, i.e., rattle, is suppressed. This suppresses relative movement between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to the rotation of the motor 16, the generation of contact noise from the snap fit 22 is suppressed.
[0043] 4 shows a second embodiment of the drainage pump 2. In this embodiment, the housing portion 40 is configured as a pressing portion over the entire circumferential direction along the rotation direction of the rotary vanes 51, and presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R over the entire circumferential direction.
[0044] 4, in the drainage pump 2 according to this embodiment, the housing 12 has an inner circumferential surface 12A of a recess 42 as an example of a pressing portion, and an upper surface 12B that intersects with the axial direction X. The inner circumferential surface 12A is, for example, along the axial direction X. The inner circumferential surface 12A is, for example, parallel to the axial direction X. The inner circumferential surface 12A and the upper surface 12B are, for example, perpendicular to each other. The inner circumferential surface 12A and the upper surface 12B form the recess 42. The lower cover 20 has a conical outer surface 20C of the cylindrical portion 41 as an example of a pressing portion, which faces the inner circumferential surface 12A and the upper surface 12B. The O-ring 14 abuts against the inner circumferential surface 12A, the upper surface 12B, and the conical outer surface 20C.
[0045] A reaction force F2 acts from the O-ring 14 to the conical outer surface 20C of the lower cover 20. The reaction force F2 can be decomposed into a component force F2x in the axial direction X and a component force F2r in the radial direction R. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 to the lower cover 20.
[0046] Furthermore, a reaction force F1r in the radial direction R acts from the O-ring 14 on the inner circumferential surface 12A of the housing 12. A reaction force F1x in the axial direction X acts from the O-ring 14 on the upper surface 12B of the housing 12. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act on the lower cover 20 from the O-ring 14.
[0047] In this manner, the O-ring 14 is pressed and held between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R, respectively.
[0048] In this embodiment, the O-ring 14 abuts against the inner circumferential surface 12A and the upper surface 12B of the housing 12 and the conical outer surface 20C of the lower cover 20, thereby suppressing relative movement between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to the rotation of the motor 16, the generation of contact noise from the snap fit 22 is suppressed.
[0049] The other parts are the same as those in the first embodiment, and therefore the description thereof will be omitted.
[0050] 5 shows a third embodiment of the drainage pump 2. In this embodiment, the housing portion 40 is configured as a pressing portion over the entire circumferential direction along the rotation direction of the rotary vanes 51, and presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R over the entire circumferential direction.
[0051] 5, in the drainage pump 3 according to this embodiment, the lower cover 20 has a conical outer surface 20C of the cylindrical portion 41, and the housing 12 has a conical inner surface 12C, as an example of a pressing portion. The conical outer surface 20C faces the conical inner surface 12C. The conical inner surface 12C forms a part of the recess 42. The O-ring 14 abuts against the conical outer surface 20C and the conical inner surface 12C.
[0052] A reaction force F2 acts from the O-ring 14 to the conical outer surface 20C of the lower cover 20. The reaction force F2 can be decomposed into a component force F2x in the axial direction X and a component force F2r in the radial direction R. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 to the lower cover 20.
[0053] A reaction force F1 acts from the O-ring 14 on the conical inner surface 12C of the housing 12. The reaction force F1 can be broken down into a component force F1x in the axial direction X and a component force F1r in the radial direction R. In other words, reaction forces act from the O-ring 14 on the housing 12 in both the axial direction X and the radial direction R.
[0054] In this manner, the O-ring 14 is pressed and held between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R, respectively.
[0055] In this embodiment, the O-ring 14 abuts against the conical outer surface 20C of the lower cover 20 and the conical inner surface 12C of the housing 12, thereby suppressing relative movement between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to the rotation of the motor 16, the generation of contact noise from the snap fit 22 is suppressed.
[0056] The other parts are the same as those in the first embodiment, and therefore the description thereof will be omitted.
[0057] 6 shows a fourth embodiment of the drainage pump 2. In this embodiment, the housing portion 40 is configured as a pressing portion over the entire circumferential direction along the rotation direction of the rotary vanes 51, and presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R over the entire circumferential direction.
[0058] 6 , in the drainage pump 4 according to this embodiment, the lower cover 20 has, as an example of a pressing portion, an outer peripheral surface 20A of the cylindrical portion 41 and a lower surface 20B that intersects with the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 20A is, for example, along the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 20A is, for example, parallel to the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B are, for example, perpendicular to each other. Furthermore, the housing 12 has, as an example of a pressing portion, an inner peripheral surface 12A of the recess 42 and an upper surface 12B that intersects with the axial direction X. The inner peripheral surface 12A is, for example, along the axial direction X. The inner peripheral surface 12A is, for example, parallel to the axial direction X. The inner peripheral surface 12A and the upper surface 12B are, for example, perpendicular to each other.
[0059] The O-ring 14 has a cross-shaped cross section and abuts against the outer peripheral surface 20A, the lower surface 20B, the inner peripheral surface 12A, and the upper surface 12B. A reaction force F1r in the radial direction R acts from the O-ring 14 on the inner peripheral surface 12A of the housing 12. A reaction force F1x in the axial direction X acts from the O-ring 14 on the upper surface 12B of the housing 12. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 on the lower cover 20.
[0060] Furthermore, a reaction force F2r in the radial direction R acts from the O-ring 14 to the outer peripheral surface 20A of the lower cover 20. A reaction force F2x in the axial direction X acts from the O-ring 14 to the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 to the lower cover 20. In this way, the O-ring 14 is pressed and clamped by the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R, respectively.
[0061] In this embodiment, the O-ring 14, which is formed with a cross-shaped cross section, abuts against the outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20 and the inner peripheral surface 12A and the upper surface 12B of the housing 12, thereby suppressing relative movement between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to the rotation of the motor 16, the generation of contact noise from the snap fit 22 is suppressed.
[0062] 7 shows a fifth embodiment of the drainage pump 2. In this embodiment, the housing portion 40 is configured as a pressing portion over the entire circumferential direction along the rotation direction of the rotary vanes 51, and presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R over the entire circumferential direction.
[0063] In FIG. 7 , in the drainage pump 5 according to this embodiment, the lower cover 20 has an outer peripheral surface 20A of the cylindrical portion 41 and a lower surface 20B intersecting the axial direction X, which serve as an example of a pressing portion. The outer peripheral surface 20A is, for example, a surface along the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 20A is, for example, parallel to the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B are, for example, perpendicular to each other. Furthermore, the housing 12 has, as an example of a pressing portion, an inner peripheral surface 12A along the axial direction X that is smaller in axial dimension than the outer peripheral surface 20A, and an upper surface 12B intersecting the axial direction X. In this embodiment, the upper surface 12B is formed as a conical surface that gradually slopes inward in the radial direction R. Note that the upper surface 12B is not limited to a conical surface. In another example, it may be a surface perpendicular to the axial direction X.
[0064] The O-ring 14 abuts against the outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20 and the inner peripheral surface 12A and the upper surface 12B of the housing 12, respectively.
[0065] A reaction force F1r in the radial direction R acts on the inner peripheral surface 12A of the housing 12 from the O-ring 14. A reaction force F1x in the axial direction X acts on the top surface 12B of the housing 12 from the O-ring 14. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act on the lower cover 20 from the O-ring 14. Note that if the top surface 12B is a conical surface, not only the reaction force F1x in the axial direction X but also a reaction force in the radial direction R acts on the top surface 12B (not shown).
[0066] Furthermore, a reaction force F2r in the radial direction R acts from the O-ring 14 to the outer peripheral surface 20A of the lower cover 20.
[0067] A space 32 is provided between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 to allow deformation of the O-ring 14 .
[0068] In this embodiment, the O-ring 14 abuts against the outer peripheral surface 20A and the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20 and the inner peripheral surface 12A and the upper surface 12B of the housing 12, thereby suppressing relative movement between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R. Therefore, even if vibration occurs due to the rotation of the motor 16, the generation of contact noise from the snap fit 22 is suppressed. In addition, the space 32 provided between the lower cover 20 and the housing 12 allows deformation of the O-ring 14 due to expansion. Note that expansion of the O-ring 14 refers to thermal expansion and swelling. Depending on the material of the O-ring 14, thermal expansion or swelling may occur.
[0069] The other parts are the same as those in the first embodiment, and therefore the description thereof will be omitted.
[0070] Sixth Embodiment Figure 8 shows a sixth embodiment of the drainage pump 2. In the first to fifth embodiments described above, the housing 12 and the lower cover 20 have a spigot structure, in which the cylindrical portion 41 is formed in the lower cover 20 and the recess 42 in which the cylindrical portion 41 is disposed is formed in the housing 12. However, the spigot structure is not limited to a structure in which the cylindrical portion 41 is formed in the lower cover 20 and the recess 42 is formed in the housing 12. In another example, the cylindrical portion 41 having the spigot structure may be formed in the housing 12, and a shape (recess 42) in which the cylindrical portion 41 is disposed may be formed in the lower cover 20. This example will be described in the present embodiment.
[0071] 8, in the drainage pump 6 according to this embodiment, the cylindrical portion 41 is formed on the upper surface 12B of the housing 12, and the recessed portion 42 is formed on the lower surface 20B of the lower cover 20. In this embodiment, the accommodating portion 40 is configured as a pressing portion over the entire circumferential area along the rotation direction of the rotary vanes 51, and presses the O-ring 14 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R over the entire circumferential area.
[0072] The portion of the housing 12 that constitutes the accommodating portion 40 has, as an example of a pressing portion, an outer peripheral surface 12D of the cylindrical portion 41 and an upper surface 12B that intersects with the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 12D is, for example, along the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 12D is, for example, parallel to the axial direction X. The outer peripheral surface 12D and the upper surface 12B are, for example, perpendicular to each other. Furthermore, the portion of the lower cover 20 that constitutes the accommodating portion 40 has, as an example of a pressing portion, a conical inner surface 20D that faces the outer peripheral surface 12D and the upper surface 12B of the housing 12. The conical inner surface 20D is the inner peripheral surface of the recess 42.
[0073] The O-ring 14 abuts against the outer peripheral surface 12D and upper surface 12B of the housing 12, and the conical inner surface 20D of the lower cover 20. A reaction force F2 acts from the O-ring 14 on the conical inner surface 20D of the lower cover 20. The reaction force F2 can be broken down into a component force F2x in the axial direction X and a component force F2r in the radial direction R. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act from the O-ring 14 on the lower cover 20.
[0074] Furthermore, a reaction force F1r in the radial direction R acts from the O-ring 14 on the outer peripheral surface 12D of the housing 12. A reaction force F1x in the axial direction X acts from the O-ring 14 on the top surface 12B of the housing 12. In other words, reaction forces in the axial direction X and the radial direction R act on the housing 12 from the O-ring 14.
[0075] In this manner, the O-ring 14 is pressed and held between the housing 12 and the lower cover 20 in the axial direction X and the radial direction R, respectively.
[0076] In this embodiment, as in the first embodiment, the relative movement between the housing 12 and the lower cover 20 is suppressed in the axial direction X and the radial direction R. Therefore, even if vibrations occur due to the rotation of the motor 16, the generation of contact noise from the snap fit 22 is suppressed.
[0077] The other parts are the same as those in the first embodiment, and therefore the description thereof will be omitted.
[0078] [Other Embodiments] Although one example of an embodiment of the present disclosure has been described above, the embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to the above, and it goes without saying that various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present disclosure.
[0079] In the above example, the accommodating portion 40 is configured as a pressing portion over the entire circumferential area, which presses the O-ring 14 in the axial and radial directions of the rotary impeller 51. That is, the accommodating portion 40 has pressing portions over the entire circumferential area, which press the O-ring 14 in the axial and radial directions of the rotary impeller 51. However, the accommodating portion 40 is not limited to a configuration having pressing portions over the entire circumferential area along the rotational direction of the rotary impeller 51. In another example, the accommodating portion 40 may have pressing portions at two or more locations (multiple locations) along the circumferential direction along the rotational direction of the rotary impeller 51, which press the O-ring 14 in the axial and radial directions of the rotary impeller 51, as shown in FIGS. 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , and 7 . The pressing portions provided at multiple locations are preferably spaced apart in the circumferential direction so that the lower cover 20 can be stably positioned relative to the housing 12. The pressing portions provided at multiple locations are, for example, spaced apart at equal intervals (equal angular intervals) in the circumferential direction. The accommodation portion 40 is configured so that the O-ring 14 is sandwiched in the radial direction R by pressing the O-ring 14 in the radial direction R of the rotary blade 51 between two circumferentially adjacent pressing portions.
[0080] In this way, even if the accommodating section 40 is configured to have pressing sections at multiple locations in the circumferential direction along the rotational direction of the rotating blades 51, the O-ring 14 is clamped in the radial direction R over the entire circumferential area, so that the O-ring 14 seals the gap between the housing 12 and the lower cover 20.
[0081] In a configuration in which pressing portions are provided at multiple locations, the positions and sizes (circumferential lengths) of the multiple pressing portions are set to positions and sizes that can stabilize the lower cover 20 with respect to the housing 12. The sizes (circumferential lengths) of the multiple pressing portions do not have to be the same; they may be different lengths.
[0082] When there is one pressing portion, the pressing portion is not limited to being formed in a ring shape that covers the entire area of the accommodating portion 40. The pressing portion may be, for example, C-shaped in a plan view. When there is one pressing portion, the position and size (circumferential length) of one pressing portion are set to an arrangement and size that can stabilize the lower cover 20 with respect to the housing 12.
