Abstract

Procedure for charging a battery present in a machine, as well as battery charging station for use in the procedure. To charge a battery 35 present in a vehicle 33, a battery charger is placed in a fire-safe cabinet 3 in a space 9 enclosed by a rear wall 5, two side walls 7, a top wall 11, and a support plate 15, and open at the front. The rear wall 5, the side walls 7, the top wall 11, and the support plate 15 of the cabinet 3 are made of plates that are mainly MgO. Ventilation holes l9 are present in these plates to provide natural ventilation. An electronically free automatic fire extinguisher 29 is present in space 9. Subsequently, the battery charger 25 is connected to the battery 35 present in the vehicle 33, while the battery remains in the vehicle 33. Finally, the battery charger 25 is connected to a socket 31, switched on, and the battery 35 is charged safely. (Figure 1)
