Abstract

A man's garment, in particular a man's trousers including a left leg front and back portion and a right leg front and back portion merging into each other at the crotch into a gusset part which connects to a front pouch and a back pouch. The front pouch includes a non-compression front pocket and the gusset part includes a high compression zone to provide during use compression onto the man's groin area.

[0004] One of the issues with existing garments for men is the lack of support and comfort during sporting activities.BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] It is an object of the invention to provide a men's garment which provides support and is comfortable to wear during sporting activities. Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention are directed to a man's trousers with the features of one or more of the appended claims.

[0006] In one embodiment of the man's garment of the invention:

[0007] the front pocket connects to the left leg front portion and to the right leg front portion with an intermediate connecting tissue comprising parts of the front pouch, which intermediate connecting tissue is arranged to provide during use compression to the man's upper legs,

[0008] the gusset part ranges from the man's groin area into portions of the left leg and the right leg wherein the gusset part exercises during use compression at the inner left leg and the inner right leg of the man wearing the garment,

[0009] the gusset part comprises different compression zones such that compression is higher in an area close to the man's groin than in an area that is more distant from the man's groin, and

[0010] immediately adjacent to the man's groin area the gusset part comprises an area of increased compression in comparison with areas that delimit this area of increased compression, which areas that delimit the area of increased compression are at the same height with reference to the man's groin as the area of increased compression.

[0011] It has been found that this construction of the garment provides ample support which makes sporting pleasurable and avoids the occurrence of injuries. The wearer of the men's garment according to the invention benefits amongst others from the feature that the gusset part exercises during use compression at the inner left leg and the inner right leg of the man wearing the garment.

[0012] Quite notable of the men's garment according to the invention is that the gusset part comprises different compression zones such that compression is higher close to the man's groin then in an area that is more distant from the man's groin, and that immediately adjacent to the man's groin the gusset part comprises an area of increased compression in comparison with areas that delimit this area of increased compression and which areas are at the same height with reference to the man's groin as the area of increased compression.

[0013] All in all, the garment comprises targeted compression zones which amongst others are during use in front of one or more of the wearer's hips, hamstrings and / or groin area.

[0014] There are several further measures that advantageously contribute to the comfort of the garment during sporting activities that the wearer undertakes.

[0015] One of the further advantageous teachings is that the non-compression front pocket is arranged to avoid during use compression at the genital area of the men wearing the garment.

[0016] The advantageous effects of the men's garment according to the invention can be further promoted by arranging that the intermediate connecting tissue comprises different compression parts such that compression increases going down from an upper compression part that is closer to the man's waist than a lower compression part that is closer to the man's crotch.

[0017] Best results with the men's garment according to the invention are provided when the garment is manufactured through circular knitting to avoid seams.

[0018] Suitably the garment is manufactured of tissue comprising a combination of polyamide and elastan.

[0019] It can further be noted that a desired level of compression by respect of parts of the men's garment are provided by tailoring thickness and density of the concerning tissue in such compression parts.

[0020] In a practical embodiment of the men's garment according to the invention each of the compression zones provides compression up to at least 32 mm Hg.

[0021] In particular the area of increased compression provides a compression up to at least 40 mm Hg.

[0031] With reference to the respective figures which depict different aspects of the men's garment according to the invention, it is first remarked that in correspondence with a men's garment according to the prior art, the men's garment of the invention is provided with a left leg front and back portion and a right leg front and back portion merging into each other at the crotch into a gusset part which connects to a front pouch and a back pouch. The front pouch and the back pouch are parts of the garment that are below the waist and in the front and the back of the wearer, respectively.

[0032] Generally speaking, and unless provided otherwise as follows from the description below, the men's garment according to the invention is made of tissue subjecting the wearer with a main level of compression. In the figures it is the area depicted with the reference 8 that provides such a standard level of compression. Other areas that are designated with a different reference number depart from this average or standard level of compression in the manner set forth below.

[0033] Particular to the invention are the following features as depicted in the figures, i.e. primarily that the front pouch comprises a non-compression front pocket 1 and a gusset part 5, 6, 7 that comprises a high compression zone 6, 7 to provide during use compression onto the man's groin area.

[0034] The non-compression front pocket 1 is arranged to avoid during use compression at the genital area of the man wearing the garment.

[0035] Front pocket 1 connects to the left leg front portion and to the right leg front portion with intermediate connecting tissue 2, 3, 4 forming part of the front pouch, which intermediate connecting tissue 2, 3, 4 is arranged to provide during use compression to the man's upper legs. Clearly the non-compression front pocket (1) of the front pouch is separate from intermediate connecting tissue 2, 3, 4 forming part of the front pouch.

Claims

1. A man's garment without seams comprising:a left leg front and back portion and a right leg front and back portion merging into each other at the crotch into a gusset part which connects to a front pouch and a back pouch, the front pouch comprising a non-compression front pocket and the gusset part comprising a high compression zone to provide during use compression onto the man's groin area,wherein the front pocket connects to the left leg front portion and to the right leg front portion with an intermediate connecting tissue comprising parts of the front pouch, which intermediate connecting tissue is arranged to provide during use compression to the man's upper legs,the gusset part ranges from the man's groin area into portions of the left leg and the right leg wherein the gusset part exercises during use compression at the inner left leg and the inner right leg of the man wearing the garment,the gusset part comprises different compression zones such that compression is higher in an area close to the man's groin than in an area that is more distant from the man's groin, andimmediately adjacent to the man's groin area the gusset part comprises an area of increased compression in comparison with areas that delimit this area of increased compression, which areas that delimit the area of increased compression are at the same height with reference to the man's groin as the area of increased compression.

2. The man's garment according to claim 1, wherein the non-compression front pocket is arranged to avoid during use compression at the genital area of the men wearing the garment.

3. The man's garment according to claim 1, wherein the intermediate connecting tissue comprises different compression parts such that compression increases going down from an upper compression part that is closer to the man's waist than a lower compression part that is closer to the man's crotch.

4. The man's garment according to claim 1, wherein the garment is manufactured through circular knitting to avoid seams.

5. The man's garment according to claim 1, wherein the garment is manufactured of tissue comprising a combination of polyamide and elastin.

6. The men's garment according to claim 1, wherein a desired level of compression by respective parts of the man's garment are provided by tailoring thickness and density of the concerning tissue in such compression parts.

7. The men's garment according to claim 1, wherein each of the compression parts provides compression up to at least 32 mm Hg.

8. The man's garment according to claim 1, wherein the area of increased compression provides a compression up to at least 40 mm Hg.
