[0038] Electrode sheet drying device

[0039] (First embodiment)

[0040] FIG. 1 is a drawing showing an electrode sheet drying device according to exemplary embodiments.

[0041] FIG. 2 is a drawing showing an electrode sheet in a drying oven according to exemplary embodiments.

[0042] FIG. 3 is a drawing showing an electrode sheet drying device according to exemplary embodiments.

[0043] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the electrode sheet drying device (100) may include a drying oven (101), a hot air supply device (102), a flow path (110), a plurality of spray nozzles (120), a pump (130), and a storage tank (160). The electrode sheet drying device (100) may be configured to dry an electrode sheet (200) traveling within the drying oven (101) with hot air supplied from the hot air supply device (102). The hot air supply device (102) is a drying means. The drying means is not limited as long as it is a means for supplying thermal energy to the electrode sheet (200) to dry the electrode sheet (200).

[0044] The electrode sheet (200) can be formed by applying slurry (201) onto a current collector (202). The electrode sheet (200) can include a holding portion on which the slurry (201) is applied onto the current collector (202) and a non-holding portion on which the slurry (201) is not applied onto the current collector (202).

[0045] An electrode sheet drying device (100) can provide water moved through a flow path (110) to a moving electrode sheet (200). The flow path (110) can include an inlet (110_1) through which the water flows in and an outlet (110_2) through which the water flows out. A plurality of spray nozzles (120) can be arranged in the drying oven (101) to spray the water on the moving electrode sheet (200). According to exemplary embodiments, the plurality of spray nozzles (120) can be arranged along the width direction of the electrode sheet (200). The plurality of spray nozzles (120) are connected to the outlet (110_2) of the flow path (110), so that the water moved through the flow path (110) can be sprayed on the electrode sheet (200) through the plurality of spray nozzles (120). According to exemplary embodiments, the water can be sprayed on the uncoated portion of the electrode sheet (200).

[0046] A pump (130) can provide power to move the water through the conduit (110). The pump (130) can be located inside the storage tank (160) or can be located outside the storage tank (160).

[0047] FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional perspective view showing a flow path including a PTC heater according to exemplary embodiments.

[0048] FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional perspective view showing a flow path including a PTC heater according to other exemplary embodiments.

[0049] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the flow path (110) may include one or more PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heaters (113) therein. The PTC heater (113) may be an electric heating element using a PTC thermistor. The PTC thermistor may be a resistor whose resistance value sensitively changes according to temperature changes. For example, as the temperature increases, the resistance value increases, thereby limiting the flow of current. Accordingly, the PTC heater (113) can easily heat water to a uniform temperature.

[0050] The PTC heater (113) can prevent the temperature of water moving within the flow path (100) from changing due to the external environment. Through this, the electrode sheet drying device (100) can provide water having a certain temperature range to the electrode sheet (200). In addition, heating the water moving through the flow path (100) using the PTC heater (113) can reduce the time required for heating compared to heating all the water contained in the storage tank (160).

[0051] The flow path (110) may have a double pipe shape including an inner pipe (111) and an outer pipe (112) surrounding the inner pipe (111), and the PTC heater (113) may be positioned between the inner pipe (111) and the outer pipe (112). The inner pipe (111) may be configured to transfer heat emitted from the PTC heater (113) to the water moving within the flow path (110). The inner pipe (111) may include a thermally conductive material. The outer pipe (112) may be configured so that the PTC heater (113) is not affected by the external temperature. In addition, the outer pipe (112) may be configured so that the heat emitted by the PTC heater (113) does not escape to the outside. According to exemplary embodiments, the thickness of the inner pipe (111) may be thinner than the thickness of the outer pipe (112). Therefore, the double pipe shape of the euro (110) can improve the efficiency of the PTC heater (113).

[0052] According to exemplary embodiments, the flow path (110) may include a plurality of PTC heaters (113) extending along the extension direction of the flow path (110), and the plurality of PTC heaters (113) may be arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the flow path (100). According to exemplary embodiments, the plurality of PTC heaters (113) may be arranged at equal intervals along the extension direction of the flow path (100). Accordingly, the plurality of PTC heaters (113) are provided at equal intervals within the flow path (100), so that the water can be uniformly heated even if the inner pipe (111) is not completely surrounded.

[0053] According to exemplary embodiments, the length of each of the plurality of PTC heaters (113) may be in the range of about 20% to about 80% of the total length of the flow path (100). According to exemplary embodiments, the length of each of the plurality of PTC heaters (113) may be in the range of about 30% to about 70% of the total length of the flow path (100). The PTC heater (113) has a characteristic of being heated quickly, and the plurality of PTC heaters (113) may be arranged at equal intervals within the flow path (100). Accordingly, even if the length of each of the plurality of PTC heaters (113) is shorter than the total length of the flow path (100), the water can be heated uniformly and quickly. In addition, as the area occupied by the PTC heater (113) within the flow path (100) is reduced, energy efficiency can also be improved.

[0054] According to exemplary embodiments, the flow path (110) may further include a plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) protruding inwardly. The plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may be arranged at equal intervals along the circumferential direction of the flow path (110). The plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may be arranged at equal intervals along the extension direction of the flow path (110). Through this, the plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may quickly transfer heat generated by the plurality of PTC heaters (113) to the water.

[0055] According to exemplary embodiments, the plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may have a shape in which the thickness decreases along the inner direction of the flow path (110). This may prevent the water from being impeded in the movement of the flow path (110). The extension shape of the plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may be a straight-line extension shape or a curved-line extension shape, as illustrated in FIG. 5.

[0056] There is no significant limitation on the material of the plurality of thermally conductive blades (114), as long as it is a material capable of transmitting thermal energy. For example, the plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may include a metal. According to exemplary embodiments, the plurality of thermally conductive blades (114) may include aluminum, copper, iron, tungsten, nickel, and an alloy containing one or more of these.

[0057] According to exemplary embodiments, the water supplied to the electrode sheet (200) by the plurality of spray nozzles (120) may have a temperature in the range of about 50° C. to about 90° C. According to exemplary embodiments, the water supplied to the electrode sheet (200) by the plurality of spray nozzles (120) may have a temperature in the range of about 70° C. to about 90° C. According to exemplary embodiments, the water supplied to the electrode sheet (200) may be in a liquid state. Since the water is in a liquid state, it is easy to spray it toward the uncoated portion of the electrode sheet (200), thereby preventing it from being sprayed to the holding portion. Accordingly, cracks and wrinkles occurring in the uncoated portion can be prevented, thereby reducing electrode defects and improving the stability of the electrode.

[0058]

[0059] (Second embodiment)

[0060] FIG. 6 is a drawing showing an electrode sheet drying device according to other exemplary embodiments.

[0061] According to exemplary embodiments, the electrode sheet drying device (100) may further include a control unit (150) and a first temperature sensor (140_1). According to exemplary embodiments, the electrode sheet drying device (100) may further include a control unit (150), a first temperature sensor (140_1), and a second temperature sensor (140_2).

[0062] The first temperature sensor (140_1) can measure the temperature of the water flowing into the conduit (110). The second temperature sensor (140_2) can measure the temperature of the water heated by the PTC heater (113) downstream of the PTC heater (113). Whether the PTC heater (113) is operating can be determined based on the temperature of the water measured by the first temperature sensor (140_1) and the second temperature sensor (140_2). According to exemplary embodiments, the first temperature sensor (140_1) can be included in the pump (130), and the second temperature sensor (140_2) can be included in the conduit (100). According to exemplary embodiments, the first temperature sensor (140_1) and the second temperature sensor (140_2) can be included in the PTC heater (113). For example, the PTC thermistor may include one temperature sensor (140_1) and a second temperature sensor (140_2).

[0063] The control unit (150) can determine whether to operate the PTC heater (113) based on the temperature of the water measured by the first temperature sensor (140_1) and the second temperature sensor (140_2). If the temperature of the water detected by the first temperature sensor (140_1) is lower than a set temperature, the control unit (150) can operate the PTC heater (113). The set temperature may be in the range of about 50°C to 70°C.

[0064] The second temperature sensor (140_2) may be positioned downstream of the PTC heater (113), and may thus measure the temperature of the heated water. The control unit (150) may stop the operation of the PTC heater (113) when the temperature of the water measured by the second temperature sensor (140_2) is in the range of about 70°C to about 90°C. As a result, the temperature of the water may be maintained within a certain temperature range.

[0065] According to exemplary embodiments, the electrode drying device (100) may further include a storage tank (160) and a flow control unit (170). The storage tank (160) may provide a location where the water is stored before being transferred to the flow path (110). The flow control unit (170) may measure the flow rate and flow rate of the water. Based on the data detected by the flow control unit (170), the strength of the pump (130) may be adjusted.

[0066]

[0067] Electrode sheet drying method

[0068] (First embodiment)

[0069] Fig. 7 is a flowchart showing an electrode sheet drying method according to the first embodiment.

[0070] Referring to FIGS. 3, 6 and 7, the electrode sheet drying method may include a step (P110) in which a pump (130) supplies water to a conduit (110) having an inlet (110_1) and an outlet (110_2); a step (P120) in which a first temperature sensor (140_1) measures the temperature of the water flowing into the inlet (110_1); a step (P130) in which a control unit (150) determines the need for operation of a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater (113) based on the temperature of the water; and a step (P140) in which a PTC heater (113) included within the conduit (110) is turned on when the control unit (150) determines that the PTC heater (113) needs to be operated. According to exemplary embodiments, the electrode sheet drying method may further include a step of spraying the water, the temperature of which has been increased through a PTC heater (113), onto the electrode sheet (200) from a plurality of spray nozzles (120) connected to an outlet (110_2) of a flow path (110), and the temperature of the water sprayed from the plurality of spray nozzles (120) may be in a range of about 50° C. to 90° C. According to exemplary embodiments, the temperature of the water sprayed from the plurality of spray nozzles (120) may be in a range of about 70° C. to 90° C.

[0071] The step (P110) in which the pump (130) supplies the water to the flow path (100) having the inlet (110_1) and the outlet (110_2) may be a step in which the water stored in the storage tank (160) flows into the inlet (110_1) of the flow path (100). The flow control unit (170) arranged in the flow path (100) can detect the flow rate and the flow rate of the water flowing into the flow path (100).

[0072] Based on the temperature of the water, the step of determining whether the PTC heater (113) needs to be operated by the control unit (150) may be a step of checking whether the temperature of the water flowing into the inlet (110_1) is lower than a set temperature. The set temperature is a temperature that determines whether the PTC heater (113) is operated, and the set temperature may be in a range of about 50°C to 70°C. According to exemplary embodiments, when the temperature of the water is lower than about 50°C, the control unit (150) may determine that the PTC heater (113) needs to be operated. According to exemplary embodiments, when the temperature of the water is lower than about 60°C, the control unit (150) may determine that the PTC heater (113) needs to be operated.

[0073] On the other hand, if the control unit (150) determines that the operation of the PTC heater (113) is not necessary, the electrode sheet drying method may further include a step (P150) of stopping the operation of the PTC heater (113). Alternatively, if the PTC heater (113) is not operating, the control unit (150) may maintain the stop of the PTC heater (113). For example, if the temperature of the water flowing into the flow path (100) is about 50°C or higher, the PTC heater (113) may not operate.

[0074]

[0075] (Second embodiment)

[0076] Fig. 8 is a flowchart showing an electrode sheet drying method according to the second embodiment.

[0077] Referring to FIGS. 3, 6, and 8, the electrode sheet drying method may further include, after the step of operating the PTC heater (113), a step (P160) in which a second temperature sensor (140_2) located downstream of the PTC heater (113) measures the temperature of the water, and a step (P170) in which the control unit (150) determines the necessity of operating the PTC heater (113) based on the temperature of the water. The second temperature sensor (140_2) may be included in the flow path (110). When the temperature of the water measured by the second temperature sensor (140_2) is in a range of about 70°C to about 90°C, a step (P180) in which the control unit (150) turns off the operation of the PTC heater (113) may be performed. According to exemplary embodiments, when the temperature of the water measured by the second temperature sensor (140_2) is in the range of about 80°C to about 90°C, a step (P180) in which the control unit (150) stops (turns off) the operation of the PTC heater (113) may be performed.

[0078] On the other hand, if the control unit (150) determines that the operation of the PTC heater (113) is not necessary, the electrode sheet drying method may further include a step (P190) of maintaining the operation of the PTC heater (113). For example, if the temperature of the water detected by the second temperature sensor (140_2) is less than about 70°C, the control unit (150) may maintain the operation of the PTC heater (113).
