Description

Vehicle lighting fixtures

[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle lamp.

[0002] A vehicle lamp that forms an ADB pattern in front of a vehicle is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2019-3832

[0004] In recent years, a configuration has been considered in which an ADB pattern is formed in front of a vehicle using a so-called reflector-type vehicle lamp that includes, for example, multiple light sources, a reflector provided for each light source and having a reflective surface that reflects light from each light source toward the front of the vehicle, and a projection lens that emits the light reflected by each reflective surface. In such vehicle lamps, it is required to suppress the generation of glare in the reflector, etc.

[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above, and has an object to provide a vehicle lamp that can suppress the occurrence of glare.

[0006] The vehicle lighting fixture of the present invention comprises a plurality of light sources arranged in the left-right direction when mounted on a vehicle, a reflector in which a first reflecting portion that reflects light from the light sources toward the front of the vehicle and a second reflecting portion that reflects light from the light sources in a direction different from the front of the vehicle are arranged side by side in the left-right direction, and a projection lens having a plurality of lens portions arranged side by side in the left-right direction and that emit the light reflected by the first reflecting portion toward the front of the vehicle to form an illumination pattern.

[0007] According to the present invention, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of glare.

[0008] FIG. 1 is a plan view showing an example of a vehicle lamp according to this embodiment. FIG. 2 is a view showing an example of the configuration of the vehicle lamp as viewed from the front side (forward). FIG. 3 is a view showing an example of the configuration of the vehicle lamp as viewed from the front side (forward). FIG. 4 is a view showing the configuration along the A-A cross section in FIG. 2. FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing an example of a vehicle lamp. FIG. 6 is a view showing an example of a reflector. FIG. 7 is a view showing an example of a reflector. FIG. 8 is a view showing an example of the operation of the vehicle lamp. FIG. 9 is a view showing an example of an illumination pattern by the vehicle lamp.

[0009] Hereinafter, embodiments of a vehicle lamp according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to these embodiments. Furthermore, the components in the following embodiments include those that are easily replaceable by those skilled in the art, or those that are substantially identical. In the following description, the directions of front and rear (front, rear), up and down (up and down), and left and right (left and right) refer to directions when the vehicle lamp is attached to a vehicle and viewed from the front while sitting in the driver's seat. In this embodiment, the up and down direction is parallel to the vertical direction, and the left and right direction is horizontal.

[0010] FIG. 1 is a plan view showing an example of a vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment. FIGS. 2 and 3 are views showing an example of the configuration of the vehicle lamp 100 as viewed from the front side (forward). Note that FIG. 3 shows a state in which the projection lens 30 is omitted from FIG. 2. FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration along the A-A cross section in FIG. 2. FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing an example of the vehicle lamp 100. FIG. 5 shows the vehicle lamp 100 as viewed from behind and above.

[0011] The vehicular lamp 100 shown in Figures 1 to 5 is used as a headlamp of a vehicle. The vehicular lamp 100 is attached to the left or right front of the vehicle, for example. The following description will be given taking as an example a vehicular lamp 100 mounted on the front left side of the vehicle. Therefore, in the vehicular lamp 100, the left side in the left-right direction is the inside of the vehicle, and the right side in the left-right direction is the outside of the vehicle. Note that a vehicular lamp attached to the front right side of the vehicle can be configured symmetrically with respect to the vehicular lamp 100.

[0012] As shown in FIG. 1 , the vehicular lamp 100 includes a light source 10, a reflector 20, a projection lens 30, and a heat dissipation member 40. The vehicular lamp 100 forms an illumination pattern ahead of the vehicle. The vehicular lamp 100 has a so-called one-sided light distribution configuration. That is, the vehicular lamp 100 forms the right side of the ADB pattern as an illumination pattern. The ADB pattern is formed by combining a vehicular lamp attached to the front right side of the vehicle and a vehicular lamp attached to the front left side of the vehicle. In this case, the vehicular lamp on the front right side of the vehicle forms the ADB pattern from the center to the right side in front of the vehicle, and the vehicular lamp on the front left side of the vehicle forms the ADB pattern from the center to the left side in front of the vehicle.

[0013] The light source 10 is a semiconductor light source such as an LED. A plurality of light sources 10 are provided in the left-right direction. The light source 10 has a light-emitting surface 11 that emits light. When the vehicle lamp 100 is attached to a vehicle, the light-emitting surface 11 faces downward, for example, and is arranged parallel to the horizontal plane. The light source 10 is attached to a substrate 12. The substrate 12 is held by a heat dissipation member 40. Circuits and the like for supplying power, electrical signals, and the like to the light source 10 are formed on the substrate 12.

[0014] The reflector 20 has a first reflecting portion 21 and a second reflecting portion 22. For example, a first reflecting portion 21 is provided for each light source 10. The first reflecting portions 21 are arranged side by side in the left-right direction corresponding to the respective light sources 10.

[0015] The second reflecting portion 22 reflects light from the light source 10 in a direction different from the direction toward the front of the vehicle. The second reflecting portion 22 functions as a light-dark boundary forming portion for forming the ADB pattern, and also functions as a suppressing portion for suppressing glare by reflecting light so that it does not enter the lens portion 31. The detailed configurations of the first reflecting portion 21 and the second reflecting portion 22 will be described later.

[0016] The projection lens 30 emits the light reflected by the first reflecting portion 21 toward the front of the vehicle to form an illumination pattern. The projection lens 30 is formed, for example, in a rectangular shape when viewed from the front (forward). Note that the shape of the projection lens 30 in a front view is not limited to a rectangular shape. The projection lens 30 has a shape that tilts rearward from the inside of the vehicle toward the outside of the vehicle (see FIG. 1). Also, the projection lens 30 has a shape that tilts upward from the inside of the vehicle toward the outside of the vehicle (see FIG. 2). The projection lens 30 has multiple lens portions 31. The multiple lens portions 31 are arranged side by side in the left-right direction. The multiple lens portions 31 are connected together. Each lens portion 31 has an incident surface 31a onto which light reflected by the first reflecting portion 21 is incident. Also, the multiple lens portions 31 have a common exit surface 31b from which light incident from each incident surface 31a exits.

[0017] The lens portion 31 of the projection lens 30 that is positioned closest to the vehicle's interior is set to minimize inward diffusion of the emitted light. This configuration allows the space in front of the projection lens 30 and on the vehicle's interior to be used effectively, for example, to place other structures therein, thereby increasing the degree of freedom in layout. The lens portion 31 of the projection lens 30 that is positioned closest to the vehicle's exterior is set to minimize outward diffusion of the emitted light. This configuration allows the space in front of the projection lens 30 and on the vehicle's exterior to be used effectively, for example, to place other structures therein, thereby increasing the degree of freedom in layout.

[0018] The first reflecting portion 21 has a reflective surface 21a that is recessed downward from both left and right sides to the center. The first reflecting portion 21 is provided corresponding to the lens portion 31. Specifically, the first reflecting portion 21 is disposed so that the reflective surface 21a reflects light toward the corresponding lens portion 31.

[0019] The first reflecting portion 21 is disposed at a position on the inside of the vehicle with respect to the optical axis AX of the corresponding lens portion 31. Therefore, the ADB pattern can be formed so as to irradiate the area in front of the vehicle toward the outside of the vehicle. The first reflecting portion 21 may be disposed so as to straddle the optical axis of the corresponding lens portion 31 in the left-right direction. In this embodiment, a plurality of first reflecting portions 21, for example, two, are provided for one lens portion 31. The two first reflecting portions 21 are disposed adjacent to each other on the left and right.

[0020] The second reflecting portion 22 has a reflective surface 22a that is recessed downward from both lateral sides toward the center. One second reflecting portion 22 is provided for each lens portion 31. That is, in this embodiment, a plurality of (two) first reflecting portions 21 and one second reflecting portion 22 are arranged side by side in the lateral direction corresponding to one lens portion 31. The second reflecting portion 22 is arranged on the outer side of the vehicle in the lateral direction relative to the first reflecting portion 21. Three such corresponding configurations of the lens portion 31, the first reflecting portion 21, and the second reflecting portion 22 are arranged side by side in the lateral direction. Hereinafter, when describing the relationship between the first reflecting portion 21 and the second reflecting portion 22 corresponding to one lens portion 31, the second reflecting portion 22 may be referred to as the second reflecting portion 22 corresponding to the first reflecting portion 21 or the first reflecting portion 21 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22. The second reflecting portion 22 reflects light by the reflective surface 22a so as not to enter the lens portion 31.

[0021] The second reflecting portion 22 is disposed between the first reflecting portion 21 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22 and the lens portion 31 adjacent to the lens portion 31 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22 on the vehicle outer side in the left-right direction. In this case, the second reflecting portion 22 may be disposed, for example, between the optical axes AX of the lens portions 31 adjacent to each other in the left-right direction. When forming a one-sided light distribution pattern, a space or the like for forming a light-dark boundary forming portion needs to be disposed between the lens portions 31 adjacent to each other in the left-right direction. In the configuration of this embodiment, by disposing the second reflecting portion 22 at the position of the light-dark boundary forming portion, reflection of light from the position of the light-dark boundary forming portion toward the lens portion 31 can be suppressed, thereby suppressing the occurrence of glare. In this embodiment, the second reflecting portion 22 is disposed on the vehicle outer side with respect to the optical axis AX of each lens portion 31. This configuration enables efficient use of the second reflecting portion 22.

[0022] The boundary between the second reflecting portion 22 and the first reflecting portion 21 is formed as a light-dark boundary forming portion 22R along the optical axis AX (shown as a shaded area in FIG. 4). In the light-dark boundary forming portion 22R, the rear end 22b of the second reflecting portion 22 in the front-to-rear direction is shaped to point rearward from the first reflecting portion 21. This configuration makes it difficult for light reflected by the reflective surface 22a of the second reflecting portion 22 to enter the lens portion 31. The rear end 22b may be linear or curved. The second reflecting portion 22 has a knurled portion 22c on its side facing outward from the vehicle. The knurled portion 22c scatters light.

[0023] The reflector 20 has a bottom plate 23, a partition wall 24, a light-shielding wall 25, and an outer frame portion 26. The bottom plate 23 is disposed, for example, along a horizontal plane, and extends forward from the first reflecting portion 21 and the second reflecting portion 22. Figures 6 and 7 are diagrams showing an example of the reflector 20. Figure 6 is a perspective view seen from the left rear and above, and Figure 7 is a diagram showing the configuration along the B-B cross section in Figure 1.

[0024] The partition wall 24 protrudes upward from the bottom plate 23. The partition wall 24 is disposed between adjacent lens portions 31 in the front-rear direction. The partition wall 24 is formed so that its height in the front-rear direction increases toward the front. The partition wall 24 has a sloped portion 24s and a horizontal portion 24h. The sloped portion 24s is a portion whose height gradually increases from the rear end to the front. The horizontal portion 24h is a portion that extends forward from the front end of the sloped portion 24s along a horizontal plane. This configuration reliably blocks light emitted from the light source 10 traveling diagonally forward toward the partition wall 24 at the front side of the partition wall 24. Furthermore, less material is required at the rear side of the partition wall 24, thereby reducing costs. Furthermore, the partition wall 24 is formed so that its side surface 24a slopes toward the inside of the vehicle from its top to its bottom. This configuration allows a space SP to be provided inside the partition wall 24 for removing the mold when molding the reflector 20 using a mold.

[0025] The light-shielding wall 25 is disposed between adjacent lens portions 31 in the left-right direction. The light-shielding wall 25 blocks light reflected by the first reflecting portion 21 that travels toward the outside of the vehicle toward the lens portion 31 adjacent to the lens portion 31 corresponding to the first reflecting portion 21. In this embodiment, the light-shielding wall 25 is provided at the front end of the partition wall 24 disposed on the outside of the vehicle for each lens portion 31. In this case, the light-shielding wall 25 protrudes toward the inside of the vehicle. The protrusion amount increases from the top to the bottom. With this configuration, the amount of light blocked by the light-shielding wall 25 can be minimized.

[0026] The outer frame portions 26 are disposed on both left and right ends of the reflector 20. The outer frame portions 26 are formed so as to bend upward from the bottom plate 23.

[0027] Next, the operation of the vehicle lamp 100 configured as described above will be described. Figure 8 is a diagram showing an example of the operation of the vehicle lamp 100. When the light source 10 in the vehicle lamp 100 is turned on, light is emitted from the light-emitting surface 11. A portion of the light emitted from the light-emitting surface 11 reaches the reflecting surface 21a of the first reflecting portion 21. A portion of the light L1 that reaches the reflecting surface 21a is reflected forward toward the corresponding lens portion 31, and is irradiated through the lens portion 31 toward the front of the vehicle to form the ADB pattern.

[0028] A portion of the light L2 that reaches the reflecting surface 21a travels toward the outside of the vehicle relative to the corresponding lens portion 31. This light L2 is blocked by the light-shielding wall 25 at the tip of the partition wall 24. This prevents the light L2 from entering the lens portion 31 adjacent to the corresponding lens portion 31.

[0029] Furthermore, a portion of the light L3 emitted from the light-emitting surface 11 reaches the reflecting surface 22a of the second reflecting portion 22. The light L3 that reaches the reflecting surface 22a is reflected in a direction different from the forward direction, and is reflected or absorbed by, for example, the partition wall 24, or is diffused by the knurled portion 22c. Therefore, the light L3 that reaches the second reflecting portion 22 is prevented from entering the lens portion 31. In this way, the light L3 is prevented from being emitted in the direction forward of the vehicle, thereby suppressing the occurrence of glare.

[0030] FIG. 9 is a diagram showing an example of an illumination pattern P produced by the vehicular lamp 100. In FIG. 9, line H-H indicates a horizontal line, and line V-V indicates a line parallel to the vertical direction (hereinafter referred to as a vertical line). Light L1 emitted from the exit surface 31b of the projection lens 30 forms an illumination pattern P ahead of the vehicle, as shown in FIG. 9. The illumination pattern P is formed by arranging patterns P1 to P6 corresponding to individual light sources 10 side by side, with some overlapping in the left-right direction. Note that in FIG. 8, the reference symbols S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, and S6 are used to denote the light sources 10 corresponding to patterns P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6, respectively. The vehicular lamp 100 according to this embodiment has a so-called one-sided light distribution. Therefore, the illumination pattern P corresponds to the right portion of the ADB pattern. The ADB pattern is formed by combining it with the illumination patterns of vehicular lamps located on the front left side of the vehicle. In each of the patterns P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6, the light-dark boundary forming portion 22R is provided, so that the left end in the figure has a linear, rising shape. In other words, a clear boundary between light and dark is formed. The patterns P4, P5, and P6 of the first reflecting portion 21 adjacent to the second reflecting portion 22 are irradiated near the V-V line. Since the closer to the V-V line, the stronger the light is irradiated, it can be said that suppressing glare by the second reflecting portion 22 is very significant.

[0031] As described above, the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment comprises a plurality of light sources 10 arranged in the left-right direction when mounted on a vehicle, a reflector 20 in which a first reflecting portion 21 that reflects light from the light sources 10 toward the front of the vehicle and a second reflecting portion 22 that reflects light from the light sources 10 in a direction different from the front of the vehicle are arranged side by side in the left-right direction, and a projection lens 30 having a plurality of lens portions 31 arranged side by side in the left-right direction and that emit the light reflected by the first reflecting portion 21 toward the front of the vehicle to form an ADB pattern.

[0032] According to this configuration, the second reflecting portion 22 is provided so as to be aligned in the left-right direction with the first reflecting portion 21, so that when light from the light source 10 deviates left-right from the first reflecting portion 21 and reaches the second reflecting portion 22, the light can be reflected in a direction different from the front of the vehicle. Therefore, it is possible to prevent light that deviates left-right from the first reflecting portion 21 from being incident on the lens portion 31 in an unintended manner, thereby suppressing the occurrence of glare.

[0033] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, a first reflecting portion 21 and a second reflecting portion 22 are arranged on the reflector 20 in correspondence with each lens portion 31, with the first reflecting portion 21 being arranged at a position that is on the inside of the vehicle relative to the optical axis of the corresponding lens portion 31, and the second reflecting portion 22 being arranged at a position that is on the outside of the vehicle relative to the optical axis of each lens portion 31.

[0034] According to this configuration, the first reflecting portions 21 are disposed at positions that are on the inside of the vehicle with respect to the optical axis of the corresponding lens portions 31, so that light from the first reflecting portions 21 can be efficiently irradiated forward toward the outside of the vehicle via the lens portions 31. Furthermore, the second reflecting portions 22 are disposed at positions that are on the outside of the vehicle with respect to the optical axis of each lens portion 31, so that the shape of the reflecting surface 22a is concave and the rear end portion 22b of the second reflecting portion 22 is shaped to point rearward from the first reflecting portion 21, so that the generation of glare from the lens portions 31 toward the inside of the vehicle forward can be suppressed.

[0035] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the second reflecting portion 22 is arranged in the left-right direction between the first reflecting portion 21 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22 and the lens portion 31 adjacent to the lens portion 31 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22 in the left-right direction.

[0036] In a configuration in which an ADB pattern is formed, it may be necessary to provide a space or the like to form a light-dark boundary forming portion between the optical axes AX of adjacent lens portions 31 in the left-right direction. In the configuration of this embodiment, the second reflecting portion 22 is disposed in the left-right direction between the first reflecting portion 21 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22 and the lens portion 31 adjacent to the lens portion 31 corresponding to the second reflecting portion 22 on the outside of the vehicle in the left-right direction. Therefore, by disposing the second reflecting portion 22 at the position of the light-dark boundary forming portion, it is possible to suppress light from being reflected from the position of the light-dark boundary forming portion toward the lens portion 31, and to suppress the occurrence of glare.

[0037] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the boundary between the second reflecting portion 22 and the first reflecting portion 21 is formed as a light / dark boundary forming portion 22R along the optical axis AX.

[0038] According to this configuration, the boundary with the first reflecting portion 21 is formed as a light-dark boundary forming portion 22R along the optical axis AX, so that light can be prevented from being reflected from the position of the light-dark boundary forming portion toward the lens portion 31, thereby suppressing the occurrence of glare.

[0039] In the vehicular lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the second reflecting portion 22 has a knurled portion 22c.

[0040] According to this configuration, the light that reaches the knurled portion 22c of the second reflecting portion 22 can be diffused by the knurled portion 22c, thereby suppressing the occurrence of glare.

[0041] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the lens portion 31 of the projection lens 30 that is disposed on the innermost side of the vehicle forms patterns P1 and P4 that cause the least inward diffusion of emitted light.

[0042] According to this configuration, the space in front of the projection lens 30 and inside the vehicle can be used effectively, for example, to place other structures therein, thereby increasing the degree of freedom in layout.

[0043] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the lens portion 31 of the projection lens 30 that is disposed on the outermost side of the vehicle forms patterns P3 and P6 that cause the least outward diffusion of emitted light.

[0044] According to this configuration, the space in front of the projection lens 30 and outside the vehicle can be used effectively, for example, to place other structures therein, thereby increasing the degree of freedom in layout.

[0045] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the projection lens 30 has a shape that is inclined rearward from the inside to the outside of the vehicle.

[0046] According to this configuration, the shape of the projection lens 30 is inclined rearward from the inside to the outside of the vehicle, which makes it easier to follow the shape of the surroundings and improves layout flexibility.

[0047] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, a plurality of first reflecting portions 21 corresponding to one lens portion 31 are provided in the left-right direction.

[0048] According to this configuration, a plurality of first reflecting sections 21 corresponding to one lens section 31 are provided in the left-right direction, so that the irradiation pattern P (ADB pattern) can be set more precisely.

[0049] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the light source 10 is provided corresponding to the first reflecting portion 21 , and the second reflecting portion 22 is not provided with a corresponding light source 10 .

[0050] According to this configuration, by providing the second reflecting portion 22 to which no corresponding light source 10 is provided, the light / dark boundary can be formed more reliably, and the quality of the irradiation pattern P can be improved.

[0051] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the reflector 20 has a light-shielding wall 25 facing the inside of the vehicle between the lens portions 31 adjacent to each other in the left-right direction.

[0052] This configuration can block light that is reflected by the first reflecting portion 21 and travels toward the lens portion 31 adjacent to the corresponding lens portion 31. This can prevent unintended light from entering the lens portion 31, thereby suppressing the occurrence of glare.

[0053] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the reflector 20 has a partition wall 24 extending in the front-to-rear direction between adjacent lens portions 31 in the left-to-right direction, and the light-shielding wall 25 is provided at the front end of the partition wall 24.

[0054] According to this configuration, the light-shielding wall 25 is provided at the front end of the partition 24, so that light reflected by the first reflecting section 21 and traveling toward the lens section 31 adjacent to the corresponding lens section 31 can be more reliably blocked by the light-shielding wall 25.

[0055] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the partition wall 24 is formed so that its height in the up-down direction increases toward the front.

[0056] According to this configuration, light emitted from the light source 10 and traveling diagonally forward toward the partition wall 24 can be reliably blocked on the front side of the partition wall 24. Furthermore, the amount of material on the rear side of the partition wall 24 can be reduced, thereby reducing costs.

[0057] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the partition wall 24 is formed so as to be inclined toward the inside of the vehicle from the top to the bottom.

[0058] According to this configuration, when the reflector 20 is molded using a mold, it is possible to prevent the thickness of the resin from becoming too thick.

[0059] In the vehicle lamp 100 according to this embodiment, the light blocking wall 25 is formed so that the amount of protrusion toward the inside of the vehicle decreases from the bottom to the top.

[0060] According to this configuration, by reducing the amount of protrusion of the light-shielding wall 25 from the bottom to the top toward the inside of the vehicle, the amount of light blocking by the light-shielding wall 25 can be minimized.

[0061] The technical scope of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and appropriate modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
