Abstract

[Problem] To further improve the aesthetic appearance and productivity of a precoated steel sheet by preventing shedding of resin particles from a coat layer or deformation of the resin particles. [Solution] A precoated steel sheet according to the present invention comprises a zinc-base-plated steel sheet and a coat layer lying on a surface of a zinc-based plating layer, wherein the coat layer comprises resin particles, a binder resin as a film-forming component, and a color pigment. In a section obtained by cutting any position of the coat layer in the thickness direction, the average areal proportion of the resin particles is in the range of 5-40%, the portions of the coat layer which contain no resin particles have an average film thickness dA in the range of 10-40 μm, the resin particles have an average particle diameter φ which is up to 4.0 times the average film thickness dA, the portions of the coat layer which contain the resin particles have an average substantial film thickness dB in the range of 4-30 μm, and the average proportion by number of exposed resin particles is 5-50%.
