Abstract
Description
[0001] SKIN CARE PRODUCT WITH PAPER INGREDIENT MADE FROM VISCOSE AND WITH
[0002] COLLAGEN ADDITIVE
[0003] Subject of the Invention
[0004] The invention relates to a skin care product with paper ingredient made from viscose and with collagen additive, said skin care product enabling to enhance the elasticity of the skin and eliminate the wrinkles, increasing the skin hydration and improving the skin tissue, and having high strength and efficacy. Said skin care product may be used as a skin cleansing wipe and / or skin care mask.
[0005] State of the Art
[0006] The skin is an important part of the body providing protection from the external mechanical, chemical, and biological effects, helping to regulate the temperature and water balance of the body, and having the ability to repair itself by producing collagen and protein. Therefore, it is of great importance from the perspective of health to cleanse and provide care to the skin without disrupting the skin barrier and the moisture balance.
[0007] The skin cleansing wet wipes and face masks are among the skin care products commonly used to achieve the skin care and hygiene. The face cleansing wet wipes and face masks obtained by impregnating a nonwoven fabric with a composition having high water content and featuring certain properties are often preferred by the users due to the ease in use and cleansing. According to the state of the art, the mechanical methods are generally employed in order to increase the softness of the face cleansing wet wipes. The cotton, wood pulp, bamboo, hay, and other natural non-polluting materials are commonly used in the face cleansing wipes. The face cleansing wipes should be free of toxic chemicals, skin-irritating ingredients, mold, virus, and bacteria. Due to their strength, soft texture, and slight absorbing feature, the face cleansing wipes are extremely convenient cleansing products and are a main component of the daily cleansing routines of many people.
[0008] According to the state of the art, the face cleansing wet wipes or face masks are available, which are manufactured from nonwoven fabrics containing cotton or viscose. The viscose, which is known to be used in the nonwoven fabrics, has a structure compatible with the skin and a slippery texture. Due to their crystalline lattice structure, the viscose fibers exhibit the properties of lower strength, higher water intake ability, higher extent of wrinkle, and higher flexibility compared to the cotton fibers. The viscose filaments have a unique bright appearance. The viscose, the raw material for which is the beech tree, has higher moisture intake ability compared to the cotton, collects the moisture at a rate of 11- 14% under the normal conditions, and is capable of absorbing the water by a ratio of up to 80-120% due to its high extent of swelling. For this reason, the viscose is able to be used both in the clothing and the wet wipes and care products.
[0009] The face cleansing wipes available in the state of the art generally satisfy the expectation of the consumers in terms of cleansing. However, the consumers need the products, which enable the cleansing of the face while simultaneously providing the skin care. The skin cleansing wipes and / or skin care masks according to the state of the art fail to provide the satisfactory outcomes in terms of the enhancement of the skin elasticity, the elimination of the wrinkles, the increase of the skin hydration, and the improvement of the skin tissue. The substances available in the ingredients of the currently available products have shortcomings in terms of the features like efficacy and adequate skin absorption. As a result of the inadequacy of the ingredients and the mechanical properties of the skin care products according to the state of the art with the ability of being used both as a cleansing and care product, there is a need for the development of the products enabling to enhance the elasticity of the skin and eliminate the wrinkles, increasing the skin hydration and improving the skin tissue, and having high strength and efficacy.
[0010] Object of the Invention
[0011] An object of the invention is to develop a skin care product, which is possible to be used both as a cleansing and care product, enables the enhancement of the skin elasticity, and enables the elimination of the thin lines and wrinkles. To achieve this object; collagen, fatty acids, and vitamin C are added to the ingredients of the skin care product according to the invention. The fatty acids and the vitamin C included in the invention synergistically enhance the skin absorption performance of collagen. Collagen helps with the enhancement of the skin elasticity and the reduction of the visibility of the thin lines and wrinkles by plumping the skin. Owing to the invention, the increase in the absorption of collagen and the enhancement of the skin elasticity are enabled while performing the cleansing and / or care, and additionally, the elimination of the thin lines and the wrinkles is made possible due to the action of collagen.
[0012] Another object of the invention is to develop a skin care product, which has high strength and efficacy. To this end, the viscose is used in the structure of the paper that is present in the skin care product according to the invention. The viscose used in the invention ensures that the paper does not break up when the product is exposed to water and that the active agents on the surface of the paper adhere to the skin, remain on the skin for 10-15 min., and thus exhibit high efficacy.
[0013] Another object of the invention is to develop a skin care product, which increases the skin hydration and improves the skin tissue. The product according to the invention with the addition of collagen assists in increasing the skin hydration by improving the moisture retention ability of the skin. The moist skin improves the general skin health and appearance and enables the skin to have a more flexible and healthier appearance. Owing to the ingredients used in the invention, it is made possible to improve the skin tissue and obtain a smoother skin appearance with a more uniform skin tone by supporting the renewal and repair of the cells.
[0014] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0015] Disclosed in the invention is a skin care product with paper ingredient made from viscose and with collagen additive, said skin care product enabling to enhance the elasticity of the skin and eliminate the wrinkles, increasing the skin hydration and improving the skin tissue, and having high strength and efficacy. Said skin care product may be used as a face cleansing wipe and / or face mask.
[0016] The skin care product according to the invention comprises a solution, which contains type 1 collagen, vitamin C, and fatty acid ester-based compound, and a paper, which is made from viscose and to which said solution is applied. Said fatty acid ester-based compound comprises at least one of omega-3, omega-6, ethanolamine oleate, and methyl stearate.
[0017] In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the solution, which is applied to the paper made from viscose, has a type 1 collagen concentration of 0.1-2% by weight. The concentration of the powder-form type 1 collagen in said solution is preferably 1.5% by weight. The concentration of 1.5% by weight for the powder-form type 1 collagen preferred according to the invention is selected to be compatible with the amount of collagen concentrating on the skin.
[0018] The type 1 collagen concentration of 0.1-2% by weight, preferably 1.5% by weight, in the solution is the ratio required for the optimum level and optimum time of absorption for the amount of collagen applied per unit area. In fact, this optimum level is increased by the vitamin C and the fatty acid ester-based compound present in the product according to the invention. In case the collagen concentration in the solution is increased beyond said range, the absorption will take a much longer time and the product will leave a sticky sensation and a residue on the skin. This will lead to an inefficient use. On the other hand, in case the collagen concentration in the solution is decreased beyond said range, an adequate amount of collagen will not be applied on the skin and an inefficient product will be obtained. Therefore, it is of great importance to use a solution having a type 1 collagen concentration of 0.1-2% by weight, preferably 1.5% by weight.
[0019] The type 1 collagen present in the skin care product according to the invention helps with the improvement of the skin elasticity and the reduction of the visibility of the thin lines and wrinkles by plumping the skin. At the same time, type 1 collagen enables to increase the skin hydration by improving the moisture retention ability of the skin.
[0020] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said vitamin C is present at a ratio of 0.1-1% by weight based on the weight in grams of the paper. The product according to the invention preferably comprises 0.3% by weight vitamin C based on the weight in grams of the paper. The presence of the vitamin C at a ratio in the range of 0.1-1% by weight, preferably at a ratio of 0.3% by weight, is important for increasing the penetration of collagen and the efficacy of collagen in the skin.
[0021] The vitamin C present in the skin care product according to the invention promotes the collagen production and thus, the renewal and the repair of the cells. The vitamin C is a strong antioxidant and is a nutrient necessary for the synthesis of collagen, which is important for protecting the skin elasticity and reducing the visibility of the wrinkles. The vitamin C, by supporting the collagen production, assists in the improvement of the general skin health and appearance and further assists in the protection of the skin from the damage caused by the free radicals.
[0022] By the use of the vitamin C in the invention, it is made possible to provide a brighter skin appearance with a more uniform skin tone and to reduce the visibility of the dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Moreover, owing to the vitamin C available in the product according to the invention, the skin's moisture retention ability, which is necessary for maintaining the healthy and moist state of the skin, is enhanced.
[0023] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said fatty acid ester-based compound is present at a ratio of 0.2-4% by weight based on the weight in grams of the paper. The product according to the invention preferably comprises 1% by weight fatty acid ester- based compound based on the weight in grams of the paper. The presence of the fatty acid ester-based compound at a ratio in the range of 0.2-4% by weight, preferably at a ratio of 1% by weight, for use along with the vitamin C, is important for increasing the penetration of collagen and the efficacy of collagen in the skin.
[0024] Owing to the use of the vitamin C and the fatty acid ester-based compound in combination at the specified ratios, the amount of collagen possible to be applied per unit area, the amount of collagen absorbed from unit area, and thus the amount of collagen absorbed per unit time are increased compared to those achievable in the state of the art.
[0025] In the preferred embodiment of the invention, ethanolamine oleate and methyl stearate are selected as the ingredients of the fatty acid ester-based compound, since these improve the properties of moisturizing and softening expected from the paper. A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises ethanolamine oleate at a ratio in the range of 0.1- 2% by weight, preferably at a ratio of 0.5% by weight, based on the weight in grams of the paper, and methyl stearate at a ratio in the range of 0.1-2% by weight, preferably at a ratio of 0.5% by weight, based on the weight in grams of the paper.
[0026] In another embodiment of the invention, omega-3 and omega-6 are selected as the ingredients of the fatty acid ester-based compound, due to their moisturizing and softening properties. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fatty acid ester-based compound comprises omega-3 at a ratio in the range of 0.1-2% by weight, preferably at a ratio of 0.5% by weight, based on the weight in grams of the paper, and omega-6 at a ratio in the range of 0.1-2% by weight, preferably at a ratio of 0.5% by weight, based on the weight in grams of the paper.
[0027] The fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 used in the invention may be present both in ester and amide forms. The fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6, which are naturally available in the body, are usually present in the form of an ester, such as triglyceride or phospholipid. When used along with the vitamin C according to the invention, the fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6, ethanolamine oleate, and methyl stearate synergistically enhance the skin absorption performance of collagen.
[0028] The fatty acids are the natural moisturizers assisting in moisturizing and nourishing the skin. At the same time, the fatty acids assist in protecting the skin from the environmental stress factors and reinforcing the natural barrier function of the skin. Owing to the fatty acids used according to the invention, a skin care product with enhanced moisturizing property, which improves the general skin health and appearance, is provided.
[0029] In an embodiment of the invention, a solution comprising type 1 collagen, vitamin C, and fatty acid ester-based compound and preferably having a powder-form type 1 collagen concentration of 1.5% by weight is first prepared in the process of preparation of the skin care product according to the invention. Then, the amount required to apply this solution to the paper made from viscose is calculated and the solution to be applied to the paper is prepared. This calculation depends on the base weight of the paper, the desired extent of solution addition, and the width of the paper.
[0030] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, 1% by volume of the solution, which has a powder-form type 1 collagen concentration of 1.5% by weight, is applied to the paper with a base weight of 10-20 g / m2 / layer. In other words, 1% by volume of the solution, or the solution at a ratio of addition of 1% by weight, is sprayed on the paper made from viscose.
[0031] In this case, the amount of solution required to be applied to the paper is calculated as follows: The amount (in liters) of the solution with a powder-form type 1 collagen concentration of 1.5% by weight - (base weight x width x addition ratio) / (100 x solution concentration)
[0032] The amount (in liters) of the solution with a powder-form type 1 collagen concentration of 1.5% by weight - (10 g / m2x 1 m x 1%) / (100 x 1.5%) - 0.667 liter
[0033] In the next step, the required amount of solution, which is calculated in the manner described above, is applied to the paper. This may be performed using a Weko unit during the process of conversion. The collagen solution used according to the invention may be applied to the skin care product, preferably the face cleansing paper, by the use of a Weko unit, which is a device spraying a thin layer of fluid on the surface of the paper. Weko unit is a device, which applies a fluid on the surface of the paper by using a spray nozzle. For the spraying process performed with a Weko unit, the water-based solution is required to comprise 1.5% dry matter.
[0034] The paper present in the skin care product according to the invention is passed through the Weko unit, the solution containing type 1 collagen, vitamin C, and fatty acid ester-based compound is sprayed over the paper, and the solution is enabled to be uniformly distributed over the paper. After the solution is applied, the paper is dried at an elevated temperature to eliminate the excess moisture, and after the paper becomes dry, it is tested in order to make sure that it satisfies the desired properties such as softness, smoothness, and strength. The paper may be tested by employing various methods such as the tensile strength test, the softness test, and the surface smoothness test.
[0035] The skin care product according to the invention has a softer and smoother surface compared to the products according to the state of the art, owing to the solution ingredients, the optimized amounts of solution ingredients, and the paper made from viscose to which the solution is applied. By this means, even the consumers with a sensitive skin are enabled to effectively use the product according to the invention without causing irritation in their skin.
