Abstract
Description
Terminal, base station, and communication method
[0001] The present invention relates to a terminal, a base station, and a communication method in a wireless communication system.
[0002] For NR (New Radio) (also known as "5G"), the successor system to LTE (Long Term Evolution), technologies are being considered that satisfy the requirements of a large-capacity system, high-speed data transmission speed, low latency, simultaneous connection of a large number of terminals, low cost, and low power consumption (for example, Non-Patent Document 1).
[0003] In LTE or NR, UE categories or UE capabilities for IoT (Internet of Things) are defined that reduce functions that are mandatory for normal terminals, such as functions related to transmission and reception bandwidth and the number of antennas. For example, in LTE, eMTC (enhanced Machine Type Communication) and NB-IoT (Narrow Band IoT) are defined, and in NR, RedCap (Reduced Capability) and the like are defined.
[0004] Furthermore, studies have begun on systems beyond 5G, or even 6G. In these future systems, diversified requirements are expected regarding power consumption, latency, communication speed, etc., for diversified devices such as ambient IoT (e.g., wireless tags) and XR (extended reality) with functions that extend virtual reality.
[0005] 3GPP TS 38.300 V17.3.0 (2022-12) 3GPP TS 38.213 V17.4.0 (2022-12) 3GPP TS 38.214 V17.4.0 (2022-12) 3GPP TS 38.331 V17.3.0 (2022-12) 3GPP TS 38.321 V17.3.0 (2022-12) 3GPP TS 36.306 V17.4.0 (2023-03) 3GPP TS 38.306 V17.5.0 (2023-06)
[0006] Reducing the load on the terminal when receiving downlink control information is important for achieving low power consumption in the terminal, and NR Release 17 supports functions for reducing the monitoring and reception of downlink control information.
[0007] However, in future systems (e.g., NR Release 18 and 6G, the successor system to NR) where further diversification of terminals is expected, optimization of monitoring and reception of downlink control information is required.
[0008] The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and has an object to perform settings related to monitoring and reception of downlink control information according to a terminal in a wireless communication system.
[0009] According to the disclosed technology, a terminal is provided with a receiver that receives setting information related to reception of downlink control information from a base station, the setting information including different settings depending on at least one of a terminal type, a terminal identifier, and a terminal capability, and a control unit that executes settings related to reception of the downlink control information corresponding to the terminal itself based on the setting information, and the receiver is provided with the terminal that receives the downlink control information from the base station.
[0010] According to the disclosed technology, in a wireless communication system, it is possible to perform settings related to monitoring and reception of downlink control information according to a terminal.

[0012] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiment described below is an example, and the embodiment to which the present invention is applied is not limited to the following embodiment.
[0013] In the operation of the wireless communication system according to the embodiment of the present invention, existing technology is used as appropriate. However, the existing technology is, for example, the existing LTE, but is not limited to the existing LTE. Furthermore, the term "LTE" used in this specification has a broad meaning including LTE-Advanced and systems subsequent to LTE-Advanced (e.g., NR), unless otherwise specified.
[0014] In addition, in the embodiments of the present invention described below, terms such as SS (Synchronization signal), PSS (Primary SS), SSS (Secondary SS), PBCH (Physical broadcast channel), PRACH (Physical random access channel), PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel), PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel), PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel), and PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel) used in existing LTE are used. This is for convenience of description, and similar signals, functions, etc. may be called by other names. In addition, the above-mentioned terms in NR correspond to NR-SS, NR-PSS, NR-SSS, NR-PBCH, NR-PRACH, etc. However, even if a signal is used in NR, it is not necessarily stated as "NR-".
[0015] Furthermore, in the embodiment of the present invention, the duplex method may be a time division duplex (TDD) method, a frequency division duplex (FDD) method, or another method (for example, flexible duplex, etc.).
[0016] Furthermore, in the embodiments of the present invention, "configuring" radio parameters etc. may mean that predetermined values are pre-configured, or that radio parameters notified from the base station 10 or the terminal 20 are set.
[0017] Fig. 1 is a diagram showing a configuration example (1) of a wireless communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Fig. 1, the wireless communication system according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a base station 10 and a terminal 20. Although Fig. 1 shows one base station 10 and one terminal 20, this is an example, and there may be a plurality of each.
[0018] The base station 10 is a communication device that provides one or more cells and performs wireless communication with the terminal 20. The physical resources of a wireless signal are defined in the time domain and the frequency domain. The time domain may be defined by the number of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, and the frequency domain may be defined by the number of subcarriers or the number of resource blocks. The base station 10 transmits a synchronization signal and system information to the terminal 20. The synchronization signal is, for example, NR-PSS and NR-SSS. The system information is, for example, transmitted via NR-PBCH and is also referred to as broadcast information. The synchronization signal and system information may also be referred to as SSB (SS / PBCH block). As shown in FIG. 1 , the base station 10 transmits control signals or data to the terminal 20 via DL (Downlink) and receives control signals or data from the terminal 20 via UL (Uplink). Both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 are capable of transmitting and receiving signals by performing beamforming. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 can apply MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication to DL or UL. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 may communicate via a secondary cell (SCell: Secondary Cell) and a primary cell (PCell: Primary Cell) using CA (Carrier Aggregation). Furthermore, the terminal 20 may communicate via a primary cell of the base station 10 and a primary secondary cell group cell (PSCell: Primary SCG Cell) of another base station 10 using DC (Dual Connectivity).
[0019] The terminal 20 is a communication device equipped with a wireless communication function, such as a smartphone, a mobile phone, a tablet, a wearable terminal, or an M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication module. As shown in Fig. 1, the terminal 20 receives control signals or data from the base station 10 via DL and transmits control signals or data to the base station 10 via UL, thereby utilizing various communication services provided by the wireless communication system. The terminal 20 also receives various reference signals transmitted from the base station 10 and measures propagation path quality based on the reception results of the reference signals.
[0020] The terminal 20 is capable of performing carrier aggregation, which aggregates multiple cells (multiple CCs (Component Carriers)) to communicate with the base station 10. In carrier aggregation, one PCell (Primary cell) and one or more SCells (Secondary cells) are used. Also, a PUCCH-SCell having a PUCCH may be used.
[0021] 2 and 3, a function for reducing monitoring of downlink control information supported in NR Release 17 will be described. Monitoring may be simply referred to as monitor.
[0022] 2 is a diagram showing a first example of a function related to reception of downlink control information. In the function (PDCCH Skipping) shown in FIG. 2, for example, when terminal 20 does not need to receive downlink control information, a PDCCH including a notification (indication) to start skipping is transmitted. Terminal 20 skips monitoring and reception of the PDCCH for a certain period after receiving the PDCCH including the notification. This makes it possible to reduce power consumption of terminal 20.
[0023] 3 is a diagram showing a second example of a function related to reception of downlink control information. In the function (Search Space Set Group Switching (SSSGS)) shown in FIG. 3, after receiving a PDCCH including an indication, the terminal 20 monitors and receives the PDCCH at a monitoring frequency (low or high monitoring cycle) according to the setting. Here, by lowering the monitoring frequency, it is possible to reduce the power consumption of the terminal 20.
[0024] However, in the existing specifications, the functions shown in Figures 2 and 3 are applicable only to USS (UE specific Search Space) and type-3 CSS, and cannot be applied to cell common downlink information such as type 0 / 0A / 1 / 2 CSS.
[0025] (First embodiment) A first embodiment will be described. In the first embodiment, a terminal 20 receives downlink control information based on settings related to reception of downlink control information that are set according to its own terminal type (UE type), terminal identifier (UE-ID), terminal capability (UE capability), etc. That is, the settings related to reception of downlink control information can be set differently for each terminal 20 or for each group (which may be called a subgroup) of terminals 20.
[0026] This makes it possible to reduce the monitoring and reception of downlink control information that is unnecessary for the terminal 20 depending on the type and capabilities of the terminal 20, and reduce the power consumption of the terminal 20.
[0027] In addition, the settings related to reception of downlink control information may be settings related to reception of downlink control information that is common to all cells in the existing specifications, or may be settings related to reception of downlink control information that is not common to all cells (for example, set for each terminal). Furthermore, the settings related to reception of downlink control information may be settings related to monitoring and / or reception of downlink control information, and the settings may be referred to as setting information. Monitoring may be abbreviated to monitor. The same applies hereinafter.
[0028] 4 is a sequence diagram for explaining a first example of transmission and reception according to an embodiment of the present invention. The processing of each step in FIG. 4 will be explained.
[0029] Step S100: The terminal 20 receives setting information including settings related to reception of downlink control information from the base station 10. Here, the settings related to reception of downlink control information include first setting information that is common to all terminals 20 in a cell and second setting information that differs for each terminal 20 or for each group of terminals 20. The first setting information and the second setting information are transmitted using, for example, the RRC protocol. The first setting information and the second setting information may be transmitted simultaneously or separately.
[0030] Furthermore, the second setting information may be setting information that is additionally set to the first setting information, for example, for each terminal 20 or for each group of terminals 20. For example, the second setting information may include, as an offset, a difference value between a value set in the first setting information and a value set for a specific terminal 20 or a group of terminals 20.
[0031] Furthermore, for example, the second setting information may include information regarding the occasions, timing, and intervals during which reception operations are not performed among the opportunities (Occasions) for receiving downlink control information set in the first setting information.
[0032] Furthermore, for example, the second setting information may include information regarding the opportunity, timing, and interval for performing additional reception operations in addition to the opportunity (Occasion) for receiving downlink control information set in the first setting information.
[0033] Step S101: The terminal 20 executes a process of setting the settings related to reception of downlink control information corresponding to the terminal 20 itself based on the setting information received in step S100.
[0034] Step S102: The terminal 20 monitors and receives downlink control information transmitted from the base station 10 based on the setting process executed in step S101.
[0035] Here, the downlink control information may include notification information for notifying of enabling, disabling, or changing of settings related to reception of the downlink control information. Based on the notification information, the terminal 20 may enable, disable, or change the settings related to reception of the downlink control information.
[0036] Hereinafter, details of the downlink control information, the configuration information, the configuration method, etc. in the first embodiment will be described.
[0037] (1-1) Types of Downlink Control Information The downlink control information used in the first embodiment may be, for example, the information shown below.
[0038] The downlink control information is system information, such as a master information block (MIB), system information (SI), system information block (SIB), and other system information (OSI).
[0039] The downlink control information is DCI (Downlink Control Information) scrambled with SI-RNTI (System Information - Radio Network Temporary Identifier) or PDSCH scheduled by the DCI. Here, the PDSCH includes downlink control information such as RRC (Radio Resource Control) or MAC CE (Medium Access Control).
[0040] The downlink control information may be a PDCCH transmitted in a type-0 / 0A Common Search Space (CSS).
[0041] The downlink control information may be information related to resource allocation for random access.
[0042] The downlink control information may be DCI scrambled with a specific RNTI (Random Access (RA)-RNTI, Temporary Cell (TC)-RNTI, or MsgB-RNTI) or a PDSCH scheduled by the DCI. Here, the PDSCH includes downlink control information such as Radio Resource Control (RRC) or MAC Medium Access Control (CE).
[0043] The downlink control information may be a PDCCH transmitted in a type-1 CSS.
[0044] The downlink control information may be information related to paging, DCI scrambled with P(Paging)-RNTI, or a PDSCH scheduled by the DCI, or a PDCCH transmitted in a type-2 CSS.
[0045] When the downlink control information is information related to paging, it may be considered that reception of the paging information is unnecessary depending on the use case or the terminal type. That is, for terminals that do not need to receive paging information such as a PWS (Public Warning System) or an ETWS (Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System), such as IoT terminals such as sensors, it is possible to reduce power consumption by skipping monitoring and reception of the downlink control information or not supporting the monitoring and reception of the downlink control information. Here, skipping may also be expressed as dropping or canceling.
[0046] (1-2) Types of Terminals The terminals 20 in the first embodiment may be classified into the following types, for example.
[0047] The terminal 20 is classified into types such as a handheld terminal used by holding a housing in one's hand, a smartphone, a mobile phone, an XR (Extended Reality) terminal compatible with technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality, an IoT terminal, a RedCap (Reduced Capability, limited functionality) terminal, a low category terminal, and an Ambient IoT terminal such as a wireless tag (RFID, Radio Frequency Identification). Here, a low category terminal is, for example, a terminal having a low value of the terminal category (UE Category) defined in Non-Patent Document 6.
[0048] The terminals 20 are classified into types that support specific terminal capabilities (UE capabilities) and types that do not support specific terminal capabilities.
[0049] Here, the specific terminal capability may be at least one of a terminal capability to monitor a specific DCI format, a terminal capability to monitor a PDCCH in a search space of a specific type, a terminal capability to monitor DCI scrambled by a specific RNTI, and a specific power class.
[0050] The specific terminal capability may be a terminal capability supporting at least one of a specific band, a specific subcarrier spacing (SCS), a specific frequency range (FR), a specific carrier type, a specific radio frequency (RF), and a specific baseband. Here, the carrier type may be, for example, licensed, unlicensed, time division duplex (TDD), frequency division duplex (FDD), etc.
[0051] Furthermore, the specific terminal capability may be a terminal capability that supports carrier aggregation or dual connectivity.
[0052] The specific terminal capability may also be the mobility of the terminal 20, for example, whether it is a mobile terminal or a fixed terminal with a fixed installation location.
[0053] (1-3) Terminal Groups The terminals 20 in the first embodiment are classified into groups based on the units shown below. A group may also be called a subgroup.
[0054] The terminals 20 are classified into groups based on, for example, the terminal type (UE type), the terminal capability (UE capability), the terminal 20 identifier (UE ID), the reception strength (received power) of a specific signal or channel received by the terminal 20, the location information of the terminal 20, the sensing information of the terminal 20, and the network type (NW type). Here, the location information of the terminal 20 is obtained using, for example, an estimation result by a positioning function. The network type is, for example, a terrestrial network (TN) or a non-terrestrial network (NTN).
[0055] After the RRC connection, the terminals 20 may be notified of settings related to reception of downlink control information that are determined for each terminal 20 or for each group of terminals 20 using terminal-specific (UE-specific config) RRC, MAC (MAC-CE), and physical layer signaling (PHY signaling, for example, PDCCH, PDSCH, DCI, and UCI).
[0056] The terminal 20 may use the downlink control information notified in the connected state even when the terminal 20 changes from the connected state to the idle state or the inactive state.
[0057] If the terminal 20 is not notified of the settings related to reception of downlink control information, the terminal 20 may use default settings defined in the specifications.
[0058] A calculation formula based on the terminal identifier (UE ID) etc. may be defined for the terminal 20, and the terminal 20 may implicitly interpret the setting related to the reception of downlink control information according to the calculation formula. For example, the terminal 20 may use the setting related to the reception of downlink control information that is determined according to the value resulting from calculation of a calculation formula including the terminal identifier (UE ID).
[0059] (1-4) Settings Related to Reception of Downlink Control Information The settings related to reception of downlink control information may be whether or not reception of downlink control information is necessary.
[0060] The configuration related to reception of downlink control information may be configuration related to resources for monitoring and / or receiving downlink control information (DCI), a downlink control channel (PDCCH), and a search space (SS).
[0061] Here, the resource may be a setting related to a period set by a frame, a slot, a symbol duration, an offset, etc. and / or a time resource related to a CORESET (CONTROL REsourceSET), etc.
[0062] Alternatively, the resource may be a setting related to frequency resources related to CORESET, RE (Resource Element), RB (Resource Block), RBG (Resource Block Group), and interleave, which are set by bandwidth (BW) and / or offset.
[0063] The setting related to reception of the downlink control information may be the reception strength (reception power) of the terminal 20. For example, if the reception power of the terminal 20 is equal to or greater than a set value, the terminal 20 performs a setting to receive the downlink control information.
[0064] The setting related to reception of downlink control information may be a setting related to an RNTI. For example, a setting is made for a specific terminal 20 or a group of terminals 20 to receive or not receive downlink control information related to a specific RNTI.
[0065] The setting related to reception of downlink control information may be the number of CCEs (Control Channel Elements) and / or an aggregation level (AL). For example, a different number of CCEs and / or an aggregation level (AL) may be set for each terminal 20 or for each group of terminals 20.
[0066] Alternatively, the settings related to reception of downlink control information may be a terminal type (UE type), a terminal capability (UE capability), a terminal identifier (UE ID), reception strength, and a network type (NW type) before the terminal 20 makes initial access to the network.
[0067] Furthermore, after initial access or once connected, when the UE enters an idle state (IDLE) or an inactive state (INACTIVE), it may use the configuration notified by UE-specific config, RRC, MAC (MAC-CE), and physical layer signaling (PHY signaling, such as PDCCH, PDSCH, DCI, and UCI) in addition to the configuration before initial access. Also, when the UE enters an idle state (IDLE) or an inactive state (INACTIVE), it may use the configuration notified in the connected state.
[0068] Alternatively, if the terminal 20 receives a notification regarding settings related to reception of downlink control information, it may use the notified settings, and if it does not receive the notification, it may use, for example, predetermined settings (default settings).
[0069] Alternatively, the setting related to reception of downlink control information may be implicitly set in association with another specific notification.
[0070] Alternatively, the settings related to reception of downlink control information may differ based on the location information of the terminal 20 .
[0071] (1-5) Settings According to Type of Downlink Control Information Settings related to reception of downlink control information may differ depending on the type of downlink control information. The type of downlink control may be, for example, the type described in (1-1).
[0072] When the downlink control information is information related to paging, different RNTIs are defined corresponding to, for example, triggering an RRC Setup, updating system information, notifying PWS and / or ETWS, etc. This allows, for example, setting whether or not to receive the different RNTI for each terminal 20 or for each group of terminals 20, making it possible to set whether or not to receive the corresponding downlink control information for each terminal 20 or for each group of terminals 20. Alternatively, whether or not to support reception of the different RNTI may be set according to terminal capability.
[0073] When the downlink control information is information related to paging, different search space (SS) types are specified corresponding to, for example, triggering of RRC Setup, updating of system information, notification of PWS and / or ETWS, etc. This makes it possible to set whether to receive the corresponding downlink control information by setting, for example, for each terminal 20 or group of terminals 20, whether to receive the different search space types. Alternatively, whether to support reception of the different search space types may be set according to terminal capabilities.
[0074] This makes it possible to configure the reception of downlink control information in more detail than in existing specifications, thereby further optimizing the reduction of power consumption related to the reception of downlink control information in terminal 20.
[0075] (1-6) Enabling / Disabling Reception of Specific Downlink Control Information The base station 10 may be able to notify the terminal 20 of enabling and disabling monitoring and reception of specific downlink control information (specific DCI format or DCI scrambled by a specific RNTI) and / or specific search space type (SS type). The notification may be included in configuration information by RRC, or may be included in downlink control information such as DCI and / or MAC CE.
[0076] Here, the activation and deactivation of a specific setting may be notified, or the period (time) for which the setting is activated may be notified.
[0077] Alternatively, the timing for enabling and disabling a particular setting may be notified.
[0078] The timing is notified, for example, as the time (unit: milliseconds, for example), the number of symbols, or the number of slots from the beginning or end of the interval in which DCI notifying activation and deactivation is received.
[0079] Alternatively, the timing may be notified, for example, as a time (unit: milliseconds, for example), number of symbols, or number of slots from the beginning or end of the HARQ-ACK, which is a response to the reception of the MAC CE, which is control information notifying activation and deactivation.
[0080] (1-7) Settings related to resources for receiving specific downlink control information The base station 10 may be able to notify the terminal 20 of resource settings related to monitoring and receiving DCI and / or search space type (SS type) scrambled by specific downlink control information (DCI format or RNTI).
[0081] (1-8) Determination of Settings Related to Reception of Downlink Control Information by Terminal The terminal 20 determines and / or changes settings related to reception of downlink control information.
[0082] The terminal 20 may determine and / or change settings related to reception of downlink control information based on instructions from a higher layer within the terminal 20. For example, the terminal 20 changes settings related to the reception in response to instructions from a higher layer within the terminal 20 related to a state related to power consumption of the terminal 20 or the like.
[0083] The terminal 20 may determine and / or change settings related to reception of downlink control information based on reception strength (reception power). For example, the terminal 20 changes settings so as to receive downlink control information if the reception power of the terminal 20 is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.
[0084] The setting related to reception may be a setting related to which DCI format and / or RNTI to monitor the PDCCH in the scrambled DCI / search space (SS).
[0085] Alternatively, the setting related to reception may be a setting related to the period of a search space (SS).
[0086] Alternatively, the setting related to reception may be a setting related to skipping reception of downlink control information (for example, PDCCH) and / or a setting related to a search space set group (SSSG) to be monitored.
[0087] The base station 10 may notify the terminal 20 of a plurality of combinations of the settings, and the terminal 20 may select a combination of the settings to be determined and / or changed from the plurality of notified combinations of the settings.
[0088] Furthermore, the terminal 20 may transmit to the base station 10 a report on the selected combination of settings related to reception of downlink control information.
[0089] Furthermore, the terminal 20 may include the report in a terminal capability signaling (UE capability signaling) and transmit it to the base station 10 .
[0090] Furthermore, the terminal 20 may include the report in a message (for example, Msg1, Msg3, MsgA) in a random access procedure and transmit the report to the base station 10.
[0091] Furthermore, the terminal 20 may include the report in uplink control information (UCI) and / or higher layer information (such as RRC) and transmit it to the base station 10.
[0092] If the terminal 20 does not notify the base station 10 of the determined and changed contents, the base station 10 cannot determine at what timing the terminal 20 is receiving downlink control information and whether the downlink control information is being received correctly. In the existing specifications, there is no corresponding uplink transmission for the PDSCH scheduled by the SI-RNTI and P-RNTI.
[0093] 5 is a sequence diagram for explaining a second example of transmission and reception according to an embodiment of the present invention. The processing of each step in FIG. 5 will be explained.
[0094] Step S200: The terminal 20 determines or changes settings related to reception of downlink control information, for example, based on instructions from a higher layer within the terminal 20, and executes a process of setting the determined or changed settings.
[0095] Step S201: The terminal 20 transmits a terminal capability signal including a report on the settings made in step S200 to the base station 10.
[0096] Step S202: The terminal 20 receives, from the base station 10, setting information including a combination of multiple settings related to reception of downlink control information.
[0097] Step S203: The terminal 20 selects a combination of settings to be determined or changed from among a plurality of combinations of settings related to reception of downlink control information included in the setting information received in step S202, and executes a process of setting the selected settings.
[0098] Step S204: The terminal 20 transmits to the base station 10 a report on the settings made in step S203.
[0099] Step S205: The terminal 20 monitors and receives downlink control information transmitted from the base station 10 based on the setting processes executed in steps S202 and S204.
[0100] In the sequence diagram of FIG. 5, either the setting and reporting process in steps S200 and S201 or the setting and reporting process in steps S203 and S204 may be executed, or both may be executed.
[0101] (1-9) Application of Settings Related to Reception of Downlink Control Information The settings related to reception of downlink control information described in (1-1) to (1-8) of this embodiment may be applicable when the terminal 20 is in at least one of idle (RRC IDLE), inactive (INACTIVE), and connected (CONNECTED) states. Also, different settings may be applicable depending on the state.
[0102] The settings related to reception of downlink control information described in (1-1) to (1-8) of this embodiment may be applicable to at least one cell of the primary cell (PCell), the primary secondary cell group cell (PSCell), and the secondary cell (SCell) of the terminal 20. Also, different settings may be applicable depending on the cell.
[0103] According to the above-described embodiment, in a wireless communication system, it is possible to perform settings related to monitoring and reception of downlink control information according to a terminal. Furthermore, by performing more detailed settings related to monitoring and reception of downlink control information according to a terminal, it is possible to further reduce the power consumption of the terminal.

It may be a vehicle (e.g., a car, an airplane, etc.), an unmanned mobile object (e.g., a drone, an autonomous vehicle, etc.), or a robot (manned or unmanned). At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be a device that does not necessarily move during communication operations. For example, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may be an IoT (Internet of Things) device such as a sensor.
[0169] Furthermore, a base station in the present disclosure may be read as a user terminal. For example, the aspects / embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied to a configuration in which communication between a base station and a user terminal is replaced with communication between multiple terminals 20 (which may be called, for example, Device-to-Device (D2D) or Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)). In this case, the terminal 20 may be configured to have the functions of the base station 10 described above. Furthermore, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be read as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, terms such as an uplink channel and a downlink channel may be read as a side channel.
[0170] Similarly, the user terminal in the present disclosure may be read as a base station, in which case the base station may be configured to have the functions of the user terminal described above.
[0171] As used in this disclosure, the terms "determining" and "determining" may encompass a wide variety of actions. "Determining" and "determining" may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, inquiring (e.g., searching in a table, database, or other data structure), ascertaining, and the like. "Determining" and "determining" may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), input, output, accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory), and the like. Furthermore, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, etc. as having been "judged" or "decided." In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding some action as having been "judged" or "decided." Furthermore, "judgment (decision)" can be interpreted as "assuming," "expecting," "considering," etc.
[0172] The terms "connected," "coupled," or any variation thereof, refer to any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are "connected" or "coupled" to each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, "connected" may be read as "access." As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be "connected" or "coupled" to each other using one or more wires, cables, and / or printed electrical connections, as well as electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency range, microwave range, and optical (both visible and invisible) range, as some non-limiting and non-exhaustive examples.
[0173] The reference signal may be abbreviated as RS (Reference Signal) or may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.
[0174] As used in this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based only on," unless expressly stated otherwise. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based only on" and "based at least on."
[0175] As used in this disclosure, any reference to an element using a designation such as "first," "second," etc. does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient method of distinguishing between two or more elements. Thus, a reference to a first and a second element does not imply that only two elements may be employed or that the first element must in some way precede the second element.
[0176] The "means" in the configuration of each of the above devices may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.
[0177] When the terms "include," "including," and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, similar to the term "comprising." Furthermore, when the term "or" is used in this disclosure, it is not intended to be an exclusive or.
[0178] A radio frame may be composed of one or more frames in the time domain. Each of the one or more frames in the time domain may be called a subframe. A subframe may further be composed of one or more slots in the time domain. A subframe may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.
[0179] Numerology may be communication parameters that apply to the transmission and / or reception of a signal or channel, such as subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame structure, specific filtering operations performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, specific windowing operations performed by the transceiver in the time domain, etc.
[0180] A slot may be composed of one or more symbols (such as an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol or a Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) symbol) in the time domain. A slot may be a time unit based on numerology.
[0181] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or multiple symbols in the time domain. A minislot may also be called a subslot. A minislot may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.
[0182] The radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol all represent time units for transmitting signals, and may be referred to by other names corresponding to the radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol.
[0183] For example, one subframe may be called a transmission time interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be called a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be called a TTI. That is, at least one of the subframe and the TTI may be a subframe (1 ms) in existing LTE, a period shorter than 1 ms (for example, 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be called a slot, minislot, etc. instead of a subframe.
[0184] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, a base station performs scheduling to allocate wireless resources (such as frequency bandwidth and transmission power that can be used by each terminal 20) to each terminal 20 in TTI units. Note that the definition of TTI is not limited to this.
[0185] The TTI may be a transmission time unit for a channel-encoded data packet (transport block), a code block, a code word, etc., or may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the time interval (e.g., the number of symbols) to which a transport block, a code block, a code word, etc. is actually mapped may be shorter than the TTI.
[0186] When one slot or one minislot is called a TTI, one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more minislots) may be the minimum time unit for scheduling. Also, the number of slots (minislots) constituting the minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.
[0187] A TTI having a time length of 1 ms may be called a regular TTI (TTI in LTE Rel. 8-12), normal TTI, long TTI, regular subframe, normal subframe, long subframe, slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a regular TTI may be called a shortened TTI, short TTI, partial or fractional TTI, shortened subframe, short subframe, minislot, subslot, slot, etc.
[0188] In addition, a long TTI (e.g., a normal TTI, a subframe, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a time length of more than 1 ms, and a short TTI (e.g., a shortened TTI, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a TTI length shorter than the TTI length of a long TTI and greater than or equal to 1 ms.
[0189] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and the frequency domain, and may include one or more consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be the same regardless of the numerology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be determined based on the numerology.
[0190] The time domain of an RB may include one or more symbols and may have a length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc. may each be composed of one or more resource blocks.
[0191] Note that one or more RBs may also be called a physical resource block (PRB), a sub-carrier group (SCG), a resource element group (REG), a PRB pair, an RB pair, etc.
[0192] Furthermore, a resource block may be composed of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource region of one subcarrier and one symbol.
[0193] A Bandwidth Part (BWP) (which may also be referred to as a fractional bandwidth) may represent a subset of contiguous common resource blocks (RBs) for a given numerology on a given carrier, where the common RBs may be identified by their index relative to a Common Reference Point of the carrier. PRBs may be defined in a BWP and numbered within the BWP.
[0194] The BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be configured for a UE within one carrier.
[0195] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE may not expect to transmit or receive a given signal / channel outside the active BWP. Note that the terms "cell," "carrier," etc. in this disclosure may be read as "BWP."
[0196] The above-described structures of radio frames, subframes, slots, minislots, symbols, etc. are merely examples, and various changes may be made to the number of subframes included in a radio frame, the number of slots per subframe or radio frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, the number of symbols in a TTI, the symbol length, the cyclic prefix (CP) length, etc.
[0197] In this disclosure, where articles are added by translation, such as a, an, and the in English, the disclosure may include that the nouns following these articles are in the plural form.
[0198] In the present disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "coupled" may also be interpreted in the same way as "different."
[0199] The aspects / embodiments described in this disclosure may be used alone, in combination, or switched depending on the implementation. Notification of predetermined information (e.g., notification that "X is true") is not limited to explicit notification, but may be implicit (e.g., not notifying the predetermined information).
[0200] Although the present disclosure has been described in detail above, it is clear to those skilled in the art that the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described herein. The present disclosure can be implemented in modified and altered forms without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the claims. Therefore, the description of the present disclosure is intended to be illustrative and does not have any limiting meaning on the present disclosure.
