Abstract
Description
Battery module and battery pack
[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the China Patent Office on August 2, 2023, with application number 202322069043.2. The entire contents of the above application are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of battery technology, and in particular to a battery module and a battery pack. Background Art
[0003] The CCS assembly of a cylindrical power battery module typically consists of a plastic bracket and busbars mounted on it. In actual use, to improve the structural stability of the battery pack and reduce the possibility of heat spread, foam glue is often placed between the battery cells. During battery pack assembly, the plastic bracket is generally mounted on top of the battery cells. The busbars mounted on the plastic bracket are then welded to the corresponding battery cells. Finally, foam glue is filled into the gaps between the battery cells.
[0004] In the related art, a CCS assembly includes a bracket and multiple busbars. The busbar includes multiple busbar cells, with two adjacent busbar cells connected by a substrate to form a busbar. The busbar cells include a positive electrode connection portion and a negative electrode connection portion connected to each other. The bracket includes an end plate, a first surface of which is provided with multiple busbar mounting positions, and a second surface of which is provided with multiple battery cell mounting positions. Each battery cell mounting position is provided with a positive electrode connecting hole and a negative electrode connecting hole. The positive electrode of the battery cell is electrically connected to the positive electrode connection portion of a busbar cell through the positive electrode connecting hole, and the negative electrode of the battery cell is electrically connected to the negative electrode connection portion of another busbar through the negative electrode connecting hole. The positive electrode connecting hole and the negative electrode connecting hole are insulated and isolated by a ridge. Two glue holes are provided above each battery cell, and the two glue holes are symmetrically arranged about the first direction. After assembling the CCS assembly and battery cells, the corresponding glue holes are sealed from the top of the cell, working upward. When filling the foam glue, the glue is poured from top to bottom into the gap between the busbar and the ridge. However, to improve the compactness of the CCS assembly, the gap between the busbar and the ridge is typically small, making foam glue filling difficult and resulting in low battery pack assembly efficiency. [0019] Referring to Figures 1 to 6 , a battery module 10, specifically a cylindrical power battery module, includes a battery cell 100 and a CCS assembly 20. The CCS assembly 20 includes a plastic bracket 300 and a busbar 200 disposed on the plastic bracket 300. As shown in Figures 2 and 6 , in this embodiment, the busbar 200 includes four busbars 201 connected by a connecting portion 202. The operating principle of the busbar 200 connecting the battery cells 100 in series and parallel within the battery module 10 is described in Chinese Patent Publication No. CN218039705U. This is prior art and will not be further described here.
[0020] Specifically, in this embodiment, as shown in Figures 4 and 5 , the upper side of the plastic support 300 is provided with a row mounting position 305 for mounting the row cells 201, and the lower side of the plastic support 300 is provided with a cell mounting position 308 for mounting the battery cells 100. A positive electrode connecting hole 302 and a negative electrode connecting hole 303 are provided within the cell mounting position 308, and a glue injection hole 304 is provided on at least one side of the positive electrode connecting hole 302. The battery cells 100 are arranged corresponding to the positive electrode connecting holes 302, and the gap between any battery cell 100 and its adjacent battery cells 100 is defined as a glue injection cavity 101. At least a portion of the glue injection cavity 101 is exposed toward the upper side of the plastic support 300 through the corresponding glue injection hole 304. In this embodiment, a plurality of limiting protrusions 301 are provided around the positive electrode connecting hole 302, and the limiting protrusions 301 are provided on the lower side of the plastic support 300. The area enclosed by the multiple limiting protrusions 301 surrounding the same positive electrode connecting hole 302 constitutes the aforementioned cell mounting position 308. That is, after the battery cell 100 is mounted in the cell mounting position 308, it is retained by the limiting protrusions 301 surrounding the positive electrode connecting hole 302. The row mounting positions 305 correspond one-to-one with the row cells 201 of the busbar 200. Connecting grooves 306 for accommodating the connectors 202 are provided between the row mounting positions 305. The row mounting positions 305 and the connecting grooves 306 are connected and both are surrounded by ridges 307. As shown in Figures 2 and 4, when the busbar 200 is assembled on the row installation position 305, the positive electrode connecting hole 302 and the negative electrode connecting hole 303 are both blocked by the busbar 200. Since at least part of the glue filling cavity 101 is exposed toward the upper side of the plastic bracket 300 through the corresponding glue filling hole 304, when pouring glue, the foam glue can be easily and quickly poured into the glue filling cavity 101 (the gap between the battery cells 100) through the glue filling hole 304, and the glue filling difficulty is low.
[0021] In this embodiment, the glue hole 304 extends at least partially radially away from the corresponding battery cell 100 . The glue hole 304 should be shaped so as to expose the glue cavity 101 toward the upper side of the plastic support 300 . Its shape can be arbitrarily configured based on the layout of the row mounting positions 305 and the core mounting positions 308 , and is not specifically limited herein. It should be noted that, while ensuring the structural strength of the plastic support 300 , the area of the glue hole 304 should expose as much of the glue cavity 101 as possible to improve the efficiency of foam glue filling and reduce the difficulty of filling.
[0022] As shown in FIG4 , preferably, glue injection holes 304 are provided on both sides of the positive electrode connecting hole 302 in the width direction of the battery module 10. This allows the glue injection cavity 101 area around the battery cell 100 corresponding to the positive electrode connecting hole 302 to be more exposed, further improving glue injection efficiency.
[0023] Furthermore, on the same busbar 200, the glue holes 304 between two adjacent positive electrode communication holes 302 corresponding to two adjacent row cells 201 are interconnected. This arrangement allows the gaps between two adjacent battery cells 100 connected in parallel via the same busbar 200 to be fully exposed through the through glue holes 304, further improving glue filling efficiency.
[0024] In this embodiment, the interconnecting glue holes 304 between two adjacent positive electrode connecting holes 302 constitute glue filling area I. The ratio of the area of glue filling area I to the area of a single positive electrode connecting hole 302 is 0.8-1.4. Preferably, the ratio of the area of glue filling area I to the area of a single positive electrode connecting hole 302 is approximately 1.13. Specifically, in this embodiment, the area of glue filling area I is 450 mm², and the area of a single positive electrode connecting hole 302 is 397 mm². This arrangement ensures that the plastic bracket 300 has good structural strength and that glue filling efficiency is guaranteed.
[0025] In this embodiment, a limiting concave surface 3012 is provided on the side of the limiting protrusion 301 facing the adjacent battery cell 100, and the limiting concave surface 3012 is recessed in a direction away from the battery cell 100. Preferably, the limiting concave surface 3012 is an arc surface that adapts to the corresponding side surface of the battery cell 100 to better limit the battery cell 100.
[0026] As shown in FIG5 , in this embodiment, six limiting protrusions 301 together form a core mounting position 308 . The contours of the mounting points of the six limiting protrusions 301 are coaxially arranged with the corresponding positive electrode communicating holes 302 .
[0027] A weight-reducing hole 3011 is formed on the lower side of the limiting protrusion 301, which connects to the adjacent negative electrode connecting hole 303. The weight-reducing hole 3011 can reduce the weight of the plastic bracket 300 and lower the material cost of the plastic bracket 300. Furthermore, when the foamed adhesive foams toward the busbar 200, excess foamed adhesive can flow through the weight-reducing hole 3011 through the gap between the row cells 201 and the ridges 307 that form the row mounting positions 305, thereby allowing it to overflow. This reduces the probability of the foamed adhesive lifting the row cells 201 or the busbar 200, thereby damaging the weld between the busbar 200 and the battery cell 100. Specifically, the negative electrode connecting hole 303 passes through the plastic bracket 300 and connects to the corresponding row mounting position 305. Preferably, the inner sidewall of the ridge 307 at least partially constitutes the inner sidewall of the negative electrode connecting hole 303 corresponding to the row mounting position 305. This embodiment also provides a battery pack including the aforementioned battery module 10. As shown in FIG2 , the battery pack includes three battery modules 10 connected in series. The battery modules 10 of the battery pack have low glue filling difficulty and high efficiency, and the battery pack assembly efficiency is high.
[0028] Preferably, the three plastic brackets 300 corresponding to the three battery modules 10 in this embodiment are integrally formed.
