In addition, unless otherwise defined, all terms used herein, including technical or scientific terms, have the same meaning as commonly understood by a person of ordinary skill in the art to which the embodiments disclosed in this document belong. Terms defined in commonly used dictionaries should be interpreted as having a meaning consistent with the meaning they have in the context of the relevant technology, and shall not be interpreted in an idealized or overly formal sense unless explicitly defined in this application.

[0032] Figure 1 is a drawing showing the configuration of a conventional power conversion device.

[0033] Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional power conversion device may include a dual active bridge power topology (110). For example, the dual active bridge power topology (110) may include eight switches and may include a transformer.

[0034] The dual active bridge power topology (110) can operate in a structure in which voltage is input from the primary side and voltage is output from the secondary side.

[0035] According to an embodiment, the dual active bridge power topology (110) may be unusable if at least one of the switches included in the dual active bridge power topology (110) fails.

[0036] A 4-Switch Buck Boost topology (120) may include multiple switches (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q3) and an inductor (L1).

[0037] The 4-Switch Buck Boost topology (120) can also receive voltage input and output it.

[0038] Both the dual active bridge power topology (110) and the 4-Switch Buck Boost topology (120) are circuits capable of converting power, and if at least one element, such as a switch or inductor, included in the dual active bridge power topology (110) and the 4-Switch Buck Boost topology (120) fails, there may be a disadvantage in that the entire topology cannot be used.

[0039] FIG. 2 is a drawing showing a power conversion device according to one embodiment disclosed in this document.

[0040] Referring to FIG. 2, a power conversion device (200) according to one embodiment disclosed in the present document may include a plurality of switches (S1 to S11) and a transformer (230). According to an embodiment, the power conversion device (200) may further include a controller (240).

[0041] The first switch (S1) and the second switch (S2) can be connected in series at the first node (N1).

[0042] The third switch (S3) and the fourth switch (S4) can be connected to the first switch (S1) and the second node (N2). For example, the third switch (S3) and the fourth switch (S4) can be connected in parallel with each other.

[0043] The fifth switch (S5) can be connected to the third switch (S3) and the third node (N3).

[0044] The sixth switch (S6) can be connected to the fifth switch (S5) and the fourth node (N4).

[0045] The seventh switch (S7) and the eighth switch (S8) can be connected to the fifth switch (S5) and the fifth node (N5). For example, the seventh switch (S7) and the eighth switch (S8) can be connected in parallel with each other.

[0046] The ninth switch (S9) can be connected to the eighth switch (S8) and the sixth node (N6).

[0047] The 10th switch (S10) can be connected to the 7th switch (S7) and the 7th node (N7).

[0048] The 11th switch (S11) can be connected to the 10th switch (S10) and the 8th node (N8).

[0049] According to an embodiment, one end of the second switch (S2), the sixth switch (S6), the ninth switch (S9) and the eleventh switch (S11) can be connected to ground.

[0050] According to an embodiment, the power conversion device (200) may include a transformer (230) connected to a first node (N1), a fourth node (N4), a sixth node (N6), and an eighth node (N8). The transformer (230) may perform the same operation as a transformer of a known technology.

[0051] According to an embodiment, the first switch (S1), the second switch (S2), the fifth switch (S5) and the sixth switch (S6) may be switches (210) for primary side power conversion.

[0052] According to an embodiment, the eighth switch (S8), the ninth switch (S9), the tenth switch (S10) and the eleventh switch (S11) may be switches (220) for secondary power conversion.

[0053] According to an embodiment, the first switch (S1) to the eleventh switch (S11) may include a MOSFET or a BJT.

[0054] According to an embodiment, the second node (N2) may be a node that receives voltage input, and the third node (N3) and the seventh node (N7) may be nodes that output voltage. For example, the voltage may be output from only one of the third node (N3) and the seventh node (N7).

[0055] The controller (240) can control the operation of the first switch (S1) to the eleventh switch (S11). For example, the controller (240) can control the operation of the first switch (S1) to the eleventh switch (S11) to convert power, determine which node to output voltage through, and control each of the first switch (S1) to the eleventh switch (S11) to allow current to flow by bypassing if at least one of the first switch (S1) to the eleventh switch (S11) is faulty.

[0056] According to an embodiment, when both the switch (210) for primary power conversion and the switch (220) for secondary power conversion are normal, the controller (240) can control the third switch (S3) and the seventh switch (S7) to be in an on state and control the fourth switch (S4) to be in an off state. That is, in this case, when voltage is input through the second node (N2), since the fourth switch (S4) is off, current does not flow toward the fourth switch (S4), so that power can be converted in the form of a dual active bridge topology. According to an embodiment, when both the switch (210) for primary power conversion and the switch (220) for secondary power conversion are normal, voltage can be output from the seventh node (N7). In this case, the controller (240) can control the remaining switches except for the third switch (S3), the fourth switch (S4), and the seventh switch (S7) to convert power in a dual active bridge topology.

[0057] According to an embodiment, when an abnormality occurs in at least one of the switches (210) for primary power conversion, the controller (240) can control the third switch (S3) and the seventh switch (S7) to be turned off, and control the fourth switch (S4) to be turned on.

[0058] According to an embodiment, the controller (240) can control the third switch (S3), the fourth switch (S4), and the seventh switch (S7) to be turned off when an abnormality occurs in at least one of the switches (220) for secondary power conversion.

[0059] FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 are diagrams showing examples of a power conversion device supplying power by bypass according to one embodiment disclosed in this document.

[0060] Referring to FIG. 3, when an abnormality occurs in at least one of the switches (220) for secondary power conversion, the controller (240) can control the third switch (S3), the fourth switch (S4), and the seventh switch (S7) to be turned off.

[0061] In this case, when voltage is input to the second node (N2), the current cannot flow to the third switch (S3) or the fourth switch (S4), but can flow to the first node (N1) through the first switch (S1), and then to the fourth node (N4) through the transformer (230). In addition, the current can flow from the fourth node (N4) through the fifth switch (S5) and be output through the third node (N3). That is, when the third switch (S3), the fourth switch (S4), and the seventh switch (S7) are in the off state, the power conversion device (200) can operate in a 4-switch buck-boost topology. In this case, the controller (240) can control the first switch (S1), the second switch (S2), the fifth switch (S5), and the sixth switch (S6) to operate in a 4-switch buck-boost topology. In addition, since the seventh switch (S7) is in an off state and the eighth switch (S8) to the eleventh switch (S11) are controlled not to operate, current may not flow to the switch (220) for secondary power conversion, and therefore, current may not be transmitted to the switch (220) for secondary power conversion through the transformer (230).

[0062] Referring to FIG. 4, when an abnormality occurs in at least one of the switches (210) for primary power conversion, the controller (240) can control the third switch (S3) and the seventh switch (S7) to be turned off, and control the fourth switch (S4) to be turned on.

[0063] In this case, when voltage is input to the second node (N2), current may flow to the fourth switch instead of the third switch (S3). The controller (240) may control the first switch (S1), the second switch (S2), the fifth switch (S5), and the sixth switch (S6) not to operate.

[0064] The current flowing to the fifth node (N5) through the fourth switch (S4) can flow to the eighth switch (S8) because the seventh switch (S7) is in the off state. The current can flow from the sixth node (N6) to the eighth node (N8) through the transformer (230) and be output from the seventh node (N7) through the tenth switch (S10). That is, when the third switch (S3) and the seventh switch (S7) are in the off state and the fourth switch (S4) is in the on state, the power conversion device (200) can operate in a four-switch buck-boost topology. In this case, the controller (240) can control the eighth switch (S8), the ninth switch (S9), the tenth switch (S10), and the eleventh switch (S11) to operate in the four-switch buck-boost topology.

[0065] That is, the power conversion device (200) according to one embodiment disclosed in this document can control the switch (220) for secondary power conversion to operate in a 4-switch buck-boost topology when at least one of the switches (210) for primary power conversion fails, and can control the switch (210) for primary power conversion to operate in a 4-switch buck-boost topology when at least one of the switches (220) for secondary power conversion fails, thereby preparing for switch failure.

[0066] Referring back to FIG. 2, the third node (N3) and the seventh node (N7) may be nodes from which voltage is output. For example, the power conversion device (200) may output voltage through the seventh node (N7) if all switches (220) for secondary power conversion are normal, and may output voltage through the third node (N3) if at least one of the switches (220) for secondary power conversion is abnormal.

[0067] According to an embodiment, the power conversion device (200) may further include a 12th switch (not shown) connecting the third node (N3) and the seventh node (N7), and whether voltage is output to the third node (N3) or the seventh node (N7) may be determined through the operation of the 12th switch. For example, the controller (240) of the power conversion device (200) may control the operation of the 12th switch, and if all switches (220) for secondary-side power conversion are normal, the controller (240) of the power conversion device (200) may control the 12th switch to be turned off so that voltage may be output through the seventh node (N7). As another example, if an abnormality occurs in at least one of the switches (220) for secondary-side power conversion, the controller (240) of the power conversion device (200) may control the 12th switch to be turned on so that the output of the third node (N3) may be output through the seventh node (N7).

[0068] The power conversion device (200) according to one embodiment disclosed in this document can provide a stable power supply by bypassing various failure situations that may occur during operation, and can provide an increase in freedom in terms of cost and mounting space.

[0069] In addition, the power conversion device (200) according to one embodiment disclosed in this document can supply power through a bypass by changing to a 4-switch buck-boost topology when an internal fault occurs in a dual active bridge power topology.

[0070] FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing a power conversion device according to one embodiment disclosed in this document.

[0071] Referring to FIG. 5, a power conversion device (500) according to one embodiment disclosed in the present document may include a primary power conversion device (510), a secondary power conversion device (520), and a transformer (530). According to an embodiment, the power conversion device (500) may further include a controller (540).

[0072] The primary power conversion device (510) may include a 13th switch (S13). For example, the primary power conversion device (510) may further include a plurality of switches other than the 13th switch (S13).

[0073] The secondary power conversion device (520) may include a fourteenth switch (S14). For example, the secondary power conversion device (520) may further include a plurality of switches other than the fourteenth switch (S14).

[0074] The primary power conversion device (510) and the secondary power conversion device (520) may be connected through a transformer (530). In addition, the primary power conversion device (510) and the secondary power conversion device (520) may be connected through a 15th switch (S15) with a different line from the transformer (530).

[0075] The 13th switch (S13), the 14th switch (S14), and the 15th switch (S15) may be operated based on whether an abnormality occurs in the primary power conversion device (510) and the secondary power conversion device (520). For example, the controller (540) may control the 13th switch (S13), the 14th switch (S14), and the 15th switch (S15). According to an embodiment, the controller (540) may control the operations of the primary power conversion device (510) and the secondary power conversion device (520).

[0076] According to an embodiment, the controller (540) can control the 13th switch (S13) and the 14th switch (S14) to be in an on state and the 15th switch (S15) to be in an off state when both the primary power conversion device (510) and the secondary power conversion device (520) are normal.

[0077] According to an embodiment, when an abnormality occurs in the primary power conversion device (510), the controller (540) can control the 13th switch (S13) and the 14th switch (S14) to be turned off, and control the 15th switch (S15) to be turned on. For example, when an abnormality occurs in the primary power conversion device (510), the controller (540) can control the 13th switch (S13) to be turned off so that current does not flow in the primary power conversion device (510), and control the current to flow through the 15th switch (S15) and the secondary power conversion device (520).

[0078] According to an embodiment, when an abnormality occurs in the secondary power conversion device (520), the controller (540) can control the 13th switch (S13), the 14th switch (S14), and the 15th switch (S15) to be turned off. For example, when an abnormality occurs in the secondary power conversion device (520), the controller (540) can control the 14th switch (S14) and the 15th switch (S15) to be turned off, thereby preventing current from flowing in the secondary power conversion device (520) and allowing current to flow in the primary power conversion device (510).

[0079] According to an embodiment, the power conversion device (500) can output voltage from the primary power conversion device (510) when an abnormality occurs in the secondary power conversion device (520), and can output voltage from the secondary power conversion device (520) when the secondary power conversion device (520) is normal.

[0080] According to an embodiment, the primary power conversion device (510), the secondary power conversion device (520), and the transformer (530) may operate in a dual active bridge power topology. For example, the controller (540) may control the primary power conversion device (510), the secondary power conversion device (520), and the transformer (530) to operate in a dual active bridge power topology when no abnormalities occur in the primary power conversion device (510) and the secondary power conversion device (520).

[0081] According to an embodiment, when an abnormality occurs in either the primary power conversion device (510) or the secondary power conversion device (520), the power conversion device (500) can be operated in a 4-switch buck boost topology through the operations of the 13th switch (S13), the 14th switch (S14), and the 15th switch (S15). For example, when an abnormality occurs in the primary power conversion device (510), the controller (540) can control the secondary power conversion device (520) to operate in a 4-switch buck boost topology, and when an abnormality occurs in the secondary power conversion device (520), the controller can control the primary power conversion device (510) to operate in a 4-switch buck boost topology.
