Abstract
Description
[0001] ELEVATED PLATFORM SYSTEM FOR VARIOUS USES
[0002] FIELD OF INVENTION
[0003] The present invention falls within the scope of architecture, civil engineering, and construction; in particular, it relates to contractive systems for generating elevated platforms that allow for the use of areas that are normally used at ground level but are underutilized. More specifically, it relates to a system for constructing elevated platforms for multiple uses.
[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0005] Currently, large shopping centers, commercial plazas, business buildings, residential developments, and other structures and buildings that house a variety of shops, businesses, offices, clinics, restaurants, homes, residences, etc., are widely known. These buildings require large parking areas for employees, residents, or visitors. Open-air parking areas occupy large areas that only allow for ground-level use; however, they could be used more efficiently for other purposes.
[0006] In densely populated urban areas where space is limited, the exclusive use of large areas for parking can represent a substantial opportunity to develop more beneficial infrastructure that allows for better use of these vast areas.
[0007] The existence of large open-air parking areas used exclusively for car parking can generate problems related to the inefficient use of space; environmental impact due to large concrete or paved surfaces that prevent water infiltration into the subsoil and consequently affect aquifers and contaminate them with runoff carrying oils, heavy metals, and chemicals; as well as the possibility of causing flooding, river and stream overflows, etc.; considerable temperature increases that generate multiple inconveniences; a disconnection between pedestrians and building areas; and limitations in urban planning. The surface area ratio between a shopping center and its parking area can vary depending on several factors, such as local regulations, the size of the shopping center, the number of stores, and the geographic location.Shopping centers are often designed to provide sufficient parking space to accommodate visitor demand.
[0008] For example, according to the Official Gazette of Mexico City of the Dissemination Body of the Government of Mexico City with regard to the Public Administration of Mexico City, dated July 11, 2017, the Agreement Modifying Section 1.2. Parking of the Complementary Technical Standard for the Architectural Project was published, which establishes that depending on land use, for example for residential use (housing), the maximum number of parking spaces is three per dwelling; for commercial use, for example for self-service stores, department stores and shopping centers, one parking space is required for every 25 m2 built; in the case of hospitals, one parking space is required for every 50 m2 of construction.
[0009] There are several types of parking lots, each designed to meet specific parking needs and maximize space efficiency, depending on the area where they are required, the architectural design, etc. Below are some examples of the most common types of parking lots:
[0010] Ground-level or open-air parking; underground or basement parking located below ground level; structured parking with multiple levels of parking spaces at different heights, depending on needs. Ground-level parking is the most basic type of parking, where vehicles are parked on a flat surface directly accessible from the street. It can consist of a paved or asphalt area with parking markings and a linear or angled layout.
[0011] The present invention focuses on utilizing the large areas designated for ground-level or open-air parking; although it can also be used on other surfaces where ground-level parking serves another purpose. In this type of parking, the layout of the parking spaces can also be different, for example, parallel or parallel parking spaces. There may be one-way or two-way parallel parking, depending on the configuration and width of the streets.
[0012] Parking space layouts in shopping centers, convenience stores, department stores, businesses, offices, clinics, restaurants, residential homes, residences, etc., can vary depending on the design and local regulations. However, there are some general guidelines that are commonly followed. Below are examples of typical parking space layouts in shopping centers:
[0013] Parallel parking: This is a common layout where parking spaces are arranged in straight rows parallel to the access road. In this case, vehicles are parked one behind the other in each row. There may be one or two directions of traffic flow in each row.
[0014] Herringbone or battery parking: This layout involves arranging parking spaces at an angle, forming rows with a shared central access point. The spaces are arranged at an angle of approximately 30, 45, or 60 degrees to the access road.
[0015] Oblique angle parking is a variation on perpendicular parking. In these, cars are not positioned parallel, but at an angle, which offers certain advantages for drivers who are less skilled at perpendicular parking.
[0016] Island parking: In this type of layout, parking spaces are grouped into islands or clusters. Each island has a shared central access point, and the spaces are arranged at an angle or in a straight line. This can allow for better circulation and access to parking spaces.
[0017] Spiral or ramp parking: In some shopping centers with space constraints, a spiral or ramp layout may be used. This involves a spiral ramp connecting the different parking levels, with parking spaces arranged around the ramp. This design allows for efficient use of vertical space.
[0018] The present invention focuses on the substantial opportunity to develop infrastructure that allows for better use of large surfaces designated for open-air parking used exclusively for parking cars or for other uses, solving problems related to the inefficient use of space, environmental impact, pedestrian disconnection and limitations in urban planning and also offering an alternative in urban areas that are densely populated, where space is limited or simply where the construction of elevated platforms for multiple uses is permitted, which can be placed in parking lots or areas designated for other uses without interfering with parked vehicles or in their parking maneuvers.
[0019] A search was performed to determine the closest prior art, and the following documents were entered:
[0020] Document CN207194523U by Zhang Shouqing dated April 15, 2017, was located, which reveals a utility model of a shopping mall with a soccer field, which includes the soccer field field, where the soccer field field is equipped with the underground spatial facility, and the underground spatial facility includes an underground store. The soccer field occupies a large area, contains the auxiliary building where the underground spatial facility is established in the basement of the soccer field. The use increases the effect of commercial added value on the soccer field. Because large-scale shopping malls and soccer fields are generally built in the suburbs, it represents a great advantage in terms of the utilization of the utilized space, representing a high efficiency of land use; where the construction and maintenance of the soccer field are supported by the benefit represented by the shopping mall.
[0021] However, as can be seen from the material disclosed in the previous document, it cannot be used to take advantage of pre-existing outdoor parking spaces, since it is a system that integrates a ground-level soccer field and the construction of an underground shopping center beneath the same surface of the soccer field.
[0022] Document CN208130462U by Zhu Liheng dated April 20, 2018 was located which discloses a movable fence for an outdoor volleyball court, comprising a base, a sleeve, a U-shaped telescopic rod and a pocket net, the left end and the right end of the upper surface of the base are welded with a sleeve, and the left and right parts of the upper surface of the base are welded with a fixed half ring, the inside of the sleeve is respectively provided with a telescopic cavity and the inner surfaces of the two telescopic cavities are respectively jacketed on the U-shaped telescopic rod The left end and the right end of the U-shaped telescopic rod are welded with a fixing collar at the upper left part and the upper right part of the outer surface of the U-shaped telescopic rod, and the four corners of the pocket net are embedded with a collar, and the upper part of the collar is fixed with the sleeve The rings are wrapped together, and the lower collars are wrapped with the fixed half rings.,
[0023] He says that during the day, the mobile fence for an outdoor volleyball court can be folded up to use as a parking lot and unfolded at night to be used as a sports court.
[0024] However, this movable fence for an outdoor volleyball court is not designed to take advantage of pre-existing outdoor parking spaces, as it either folds down to create space for parking or extends and doubles as a court; however, the space cannot be used simultaneously.
[0025] Patent US3982758A, filed by Howes Jr. Charles L., dated November 6, 1974, discloses apparatus for constructing a temporary removable tennis court in a paved vehicle parking lot. It provides for two contrasting types of pavement markings and two sets of pavement recesses that receive complementary posts for nets and fences, allowing for quick and easy conversion from parking lot use to tennis court use and vice versa.
[0026] However, it only allows the conversion of a parking area into a usable space for a tennis court.
[0027] Given the need to develop infrastructure that allows for better utilization of large surfaces designated for open-air parking or areas designated for other uses that have the possibility of mounting support columns without obstruction and that are used exclusively for parking cars, the present invention was developed, which provides a technological development that offers a broad commercial advantage.
[0028] OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
[0029] The main objective of the present invention is to make available a system of elevated platforms for multiple uses that allows to take advantage of large surfaces intended exclusively for parking cars or areas intended for other uses that have the possibility of mounting support columns without obstructing, where the platform can be used for games such as tennis, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, badminton, pickleball, paddle tennis, fast soccer or to establish commercial buildings such as restaurants, cafes, social areas, among other uses, at one or more levels. [0046] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, said element for adjusting the height of the metal support columns is arranged at the upper end of each metal support column and is defined by a first transverse plate that is fixed at the upper end of each column either by means of mechanical elements such as screws when the column is composed of "C" shaped profiles or fixed with welding when the column is an "I" shaped IPR element or a rectangular PTR; wherein said first transverse plate comprises four studs fixed perpendicularly at each corner, configured to be inserted into holes made in the corners of a second transverse plate and fixed with threaded elements at a height of the metal stud required depending on the desired level and height;wherein said second transverse plate comprises, fixed perpendicularly to the center, an upper vertical central plate configured to penetrate between the backs of the two "C" profiles that define each main longitudinal beam and that comprises through holes, preferably four, configured to be fixed with fixing means that penetrate holes made transversely in said main longitudinal beams.
[0047] In the previous embodiment of said element for adjusting the height of the metal support columns, said first transverse plate is fixed at the upper end of each column, where each column is defined by a pair of "C" profiles joined dorsally throughout its longitudinal section and where said first transverse plate firmly comprises a lower central vertical plate that penetrates and fits between the two "C" profiles at the upper end of each column and is fixed with fixing means that penetrate holes made in said lower central vertical plate and holes made in the "C" profiles at the upper end of each column.
[0048] These main longitudinal beams comprise an arrangement of holes for fixing the height adjustment elements arranged at the upper end of each metal support column, so that the metal support columns can be positioned at any point on the main longitudinal beams.
[0049] It is imperative to take into account the aforementioned: the metal support columns can be positioned at any point along the main longitudinal beams, which will allow, as already mentioned, a free arrangement of columns on the surface where this structure is installed.
[0050] Said secondary longitudinal beams are fixed transversely to said main longitudinal beams through fixing means selected from the group consisting of screws and nuts or adjustable clamps.
[0051] In the preferred embodiment of the invention, each of said main longitudinal beams and each of said secondary longitudinal beams are formed by two “C” profiles defining a vertical dorsal wall, two upper and lower horizontal walls and a lip projected at 90 degrees with respect to said horizontal walls; said two “C” profiles being joined dorsally at the external faces of their vertical dorsal walls, defining together an “I” profile such that they leave opposite open faces with the lips exposed.
[0052] In the preferred embodiment of the invention, said adjustable clamps comprise four fixing claws that are supported on a square plate comprising oblong holes made close to the corners and distributed at 45° with respect to the faces of the plate, configured to receive threaded fixing means that move and adjust along said oblong holes and hold the claws, adjusting them to the size of the beam to be fastened; wherein each square plate is arranged between the lower main longitudinal beams and the upper secondary longitudinal beams formed in the form of an “I” profile formed by two “C” profiles joined dorsally and wherein said four claws hold the exposed lips of said “C” profiles on both faces, both of the lower main longitudinal beams and of the upper secondary longitudinal beams.

[0116] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0117] The characteristic details of the construction system for elevated platforms for various uses are clearly shown in the following description and in the attached illustrative drawings, the same reference signs serving to indicate the same parts.
[0118] Referring to figures 1 to 3 and 5, we can see, by way of example, metallic support columns (1) distributed in a linear arrangement and which at their upper end have a height adjustment element (2) configured to receive fixing means (not shown) to horizontally fix a main longitudinal beam (3). In this example, said main longitudinal beam (3) is formed by a pair of “C” profiles (3a, 3b) joined in their dorsal area forming an “I” profile.
[0119] Looking at Figure 2, said height adjustment element (2) in one of its embodiments, is arranged at the upper end of the metal support columns (1) which for this embodiment are defined by a pair of "C" profiles joined along the eyebrows of the open faces, defining a rectangular tubular body and where each height adjustment element (2) is defined by two vertical anchor plates (2a, 2b) parallel to each other, arranged protruding from the upper end of each column (1) and attached to the internal wall of the dorsal wall of each "C" profile of each column (1), where each vertical anchor plate (2a and 2b) comprises at least two columns of successive holes (2c) spaced from each other at different heights and aligned horizontally, configured to receive transverse fixing means (not shown) that penetrate the selected holes of said two vertical anchor plates (2a and 2b),according to the height needs and in transverse through holes (1 a) made in the upper end of each "C" profile that make up the metal support column (1) and where a transverse anchor plate (2d) is fixed on said pair of vertical anchor plates (2a and 2b) and which firmly comprises a central vertical plate (2e) comprising through holes (2f), said central vertical plate (2e) configured to fit and be arranged between the two "C" profiles (3a and 3b) joined dorsally that define each transverse longitudinal beam (3) and be fixed with fixing means (not shown) that penetrate both in said through holes (2f) of said central vertical plate (2e) and in transverse through holes (3c) made in said "C" profiles of the corresponding fixing area of each main longitudinal beam (3).,
[0120] Figure 3 shows the main longitudinal beam (3) already joined to the ends of the metal support columns (1).
[0121] In figures 1, 2 and 3 it can be seen that the metal support columns (1) comprise a plate (4) fixed at its lower end configured to receive anchor bolts (5, see figure 3) embedded in concrete footings (6, see figure 3) or similar.
[0122] Figure 4 shows one of the embodiments of the invention, wherein said metallic support columns (1) distributed in linear and parallel arrangements comprise a height adjustment element at their lower end, in association with a system of anchor bolts embedded in a concrete footing and comprising a first lower horizontal plate (7) anchored to the floor, from which four threaded elements (8) with fastening nuts (9) project, configured to penetrate into holes made in a second upper horizontal plate (10) which permanently comprises a central vertical plate (11) and which penetrates into the lower end between two “C” profiles (1 a and 1 b) joined dorsally that define each metal support column (1) and which presents both the central vertical plate (11) and the two “C” profiles (1 a and 1 b) of the lower end of the metal support column (1) joined dorsally transverse holes configured to receive fastening means (12; wherein said threaded elements (8) with fastening nuts (9) that join the first lower horizontal plate (7) with the second upper horizontal plate (10) allow the height of each column (1) to be adjusted to absorb differentials in the unevenness of the ground.,
[0123] Referring to figures 6 and 7, said element for adjusting the height of the metal support columns in its second embodiment, is arranged at the upper end of each metal support column (1) and is defined by a first transverse plate (13) that permanently comprises a lower central vertical plate (14) that penetrates and fits between the two “C” profiles (1 a and 1 b) joined dorsally that define each metal support column (1) and is fixed with fixing means (15) that penetrate holes made in said lower central vertical plate (14) and holes (16) made in the “C” profiles (1 a and 1 b) at the upper end of each column (1).Said first transverse plate (13) comprises four metal studs (17) fixed perpendicularly at each corner, configured to be inserted into holes made in the corners of a second transverse plate (18) and fixed with threaded elements (19) at a height of each metal stud (17) required depending on the desired level and height; wherein said second transverse plate (18) comprises, fixed perpendicularly to the center, an upper vertical central plate (20) configured to penetrate between the backs of the two "C" profiles (3a and 3b) that define each main longitudinal beam (3) and that comprises through holes (21), preferably four, configured to be fixed with fixing means (22) that penetrate holes (23) made transversely in said main longitudinal beams (3) for this modality.
[0124] Said main longitudinal beams (3) comprise an arrangement of holes (23) for fixing the height adjustment elements arranged at the upper end of each metal support column (1), so that the metal support columns can be positioned at any point of the main longitudinal beams (3).
[0125] Figure 8 shows a conventional perspective view of another linear arrangement of metal support columns (1) that firmly support a main longitudinal beam (3) at their upper end, using the anchoring methods of the lower end shown in Figure 4 and the height adjustment element in its second mode shown in Figures 6 and 7. Some elements are indicated in the figure with the same numerical references and can be seen in greater detail in Figures 4, 6 and 7.
[0126] Referring to Figures 9 and 9a which show an adjustable clamp system for fixing the main longitudinal beams (3) with secondary longitudinal beams (24), in accordance with one of the preferred embodiments of the invention. In this illustrated embodiment each of said main longitudinal beams (3) and each of said secondary longitudinal beams (24) are formed by two "C" profiles (3a, 3b and 24a, 24b) that define a vertical dorsal wall (P1), two upper and lower horizontal walls (P2, P3) and a lip (L1) projected at 90 degrees with respect to said horizontal walls; said two "C" profiles being joined dorsally at the external faces of their vertical dorsal walls (P1), defining together an "I" profile such that they leave opposite open faces with the lips (L1) exposed.
[0127] Said adjustable clamps comprise four fixing claws (25) that are supported on a square plate (26) comprising oblong holes (27) made near the corners and distributed at 45° based on the faces of the plate, configured to receive threaded fixing means (28) that move and adjust along said oblong holes (27) and hold the claws (25) adjusting to the size of the beam to be fastened; where each square plate (26) is arranged between the lower main longitudinal beams (3) and the upper secondary longitudinal beams (24), and where said four fixing claws (25) hold the exposed lips (L1) of said "C" profiles on both faces, both of the lower main longitudinal beams (3) and of the upper secondary longitudinal beams (24).
[0128] Said fixing nails (25) comprise an area where the work (29) is carried out for the passage of the fixing means (28), a central transverse groove (30) configured to receive the lip (L1) of the “C” profiles for fixing them and a textured surface area (31) to be secured on the internal surface of the corresponding upper or lower horizontal walls (P1, P2) of the corresponding “C” profile of the corresponding lower main longitudinal beams (3) and the upper secondary longitudinal beams (24).
[0129] These clamps allow the lower main longitudinal beams and the upper secondary longitudinal beams to be fastened at any point, and can be adjusted and fastened along both beams at the points where they must intersect.
[0130] Before having the threaded fixing means (28) tightened, said clamps can slide on the “X” and “Z” axes as shown in figure 9a through both the lower main longitudinal beams (3) and the upper secondary longitudinal beams (24) to be connected and can be placed and fastened at the most convenient point, without the need for the beams to have any perforation; and the connection is clean and at any point of convenience for fixing.
[0131] It is important to emphasize that said clamps as fixing elements can be placed at any intersection point along the lower main longitudinal beams (3) and the upper secondary longitudinal beams (24) to be connected.
[0132] The height adjustment elements in any of the embodiments, arranged either at the lower or upper end of the metal support columns (1) in association with the adjustable clamps as fixing elements at any intersection point along the lower main longitudinal beams (3) and the upper secondary longitudinal beams (24), allow the structure to be adjusted on the three axes X, Y, Z based on the needs of the structure and the connection and fixing points. Figure 10 shows a conventional perspective view of the connection between a main longitudinal beam (3) with a secondary longitudinal beam (24) in another embodiment where they are fixed by means of screws (32) in another embodiment.
[0133] Figure 11 shows a top view of an elevated platform with the teachings of the present invention, showing with arrows the capacity for movement and adjustment of position of the main longitudinal beams (3) with secondary longitudinal beams (24) when the system of adjustable clamps shown in Figures 9 and 9a is used as a means of joining them and which is illustrated in the figure at the intersection points. In the figure, the plurality of metallic support columns (1) are distributed in linear and parallel arrangements between them and support the plurality of main longitudinal beams (3) fixed with the fixing systems as shown in figures 2, 6 and 7 (see said figures for further detail) and these in turn support and fix the plurality of secondary longitudinal beams (24) with the fixing systems 9, 9a and 10 (see said figures for further detail); also showing the stairs (33) fixed to the platform and resting on the floor on the sides of the platform, to access it.

[0135] In figures 13, 13a and 13b show top views of parking lots with diagonal parking spaces (35) showing the distribution of the metal support columns (1) in linear arrangements that hold the main longitudinal beams (3), the column can be positioned at different points, always respecting the diagonal parking spaces (35) and keeping linear arrangements to support and fix the main longitudinal beams (3) and other elements that are fixed on them to define the complete structure, which is illustrated incomplete in these figures in order to show the distribution of the metal support columns (1) and their fixing points which for this distribution are in specific areas such as areas "A" included between two arrangements of attached diagonal parking spaces (35) and at points "B" that make access corners to some diagonal parking spaces (35) of the two attached arrangements,as shown in Figure 13.,
[0136] For diagonal parking arrangements (35) that do not include spaces between each two attached diagonal parking arrangements (35), the metal support columns (1) are fixed or anchored at points “B” that make the access corner of some diagonal parking spaces (35) of the two attached arrangements or at the entrance limits of the spaces and at points “C” of the central area of the end of some diagonal parking spaces (35) that delimit the two arrangements of spaces, as shown in figures 13a and 13b (where the difference between both figures only lies in the direction of entry and inclination of the diagonal parking space arrangements (35).
[0137] Referring to Figure 14, a conventional perspective view is shown of a plurality of metal support columns (1) distributed in linear and parallel arrangements between them, on which a plurality of main longitudinal beams (3) are fixed and on these a plurality of secondary longitudinal beams (24) are fixed, forming a grid that will give shape and dimension to the platform.
