[0043] The following describes the specific embodiments of the present disclosure in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are only used to illustrate and explain the present disclosure and are not intended to limit the present disclosure.
[0044] In this disclosure, unless otherwise indicated, directional terms such as "top" and "bottom" generally refer to the orientation of the relevant components in actual use. "Inside" and "outside" refer to the inside and outside of the corresponding component outline. In addition, when the following description refers to the drawings, unless otherwise indicated, the same numbers in different drawings represent the same or similar elements. The terms "first" and "second" used in this disclosure are intended to distinguish one element from another and do not have a sense of order or importance.
[0045] The exhaust system in a vehicle is mainly used to discharge the exhaust gas generated by the engine, while reducing the pollution and noise of the exhaust gas.
[0046] The present disclosure provides a silencer system 100, as shown in Figures 1 to 9, including a first silencer 1 and a gas purification device 2, the gas purification device 2 is arranged in the first silencer 1, the first silencer 1 is provided with a first air inlet 21 and a first exhaust port 11, the first air inlet 21 is used to receive the exhaust gas generated by the engine 3, and the first exhaust port 11 is used to discharge the gas.
[0047] Through the above technical solution, the gas purification device 2 is directly arranged in the first muffler 1, and the exhaust gas generated by the engine 3 enters the gas purification device 2 from the first air inlet 21 for purification. The treated gas is subjected to noise reduction treatment in the first muffler 1 and then discharged from the first exhaust port 11. In this way, the muffler system can simultaneously purify and reduce the noise of the exhaust gas generated by the engine 3. When the above muffler system is applied to the exhaust system of a vehicle, it can effectively reduce the number of components required in the exhaust system, avoid occupying a large floor space, and the exhaust system can be directly integrated into the engine compartment. In addition, the surrounding parts no longer need to be arranged at a certain distance from the exhaust system to avoid heat sources, thereby avoiding space waste.
[0048] In some embodiments, the first muffler 1 may include a plurality of chambers, including a holding chamber 12 and a noise reduction chamber 13. The holding chamber 12 is used to hold the gas purification device 2, and the noise reduction chamber 13 is used to reduce the noise of the gas. A first partition plate 141 is provided between the holding chamber 12 and the noise reduction chamber 13. The holding chamber 12 for holding the gas purification device 2 can be designed according to the shape of the gas purification device 2, and the partition plate can avoid mutual interference between the multiple chambers. According to some embodiments, the first partition plate 141 can be formed with a mesh 1411 to connect the holding chamber 12 and the noise reduction chamber 13, and the gas in the noise reduction chamber 13 can flow into the holding chamber 12 (but not into the interior of the gas purification device 2) for further noise reduction. This process will be further described below.
[0049] Furthermore, there may be multiple noise reduction chambers 13 , and multiple noise reduction chambers 13 ensure the noise reduction effect of the first muffler 1 on gas.
[0050] The noise reduction chamber 13 can be constructed as an expansion chamber or a Helmholtz resonance chamber, utilizing different noise reduction principles. When sound waves in the gas enter the expansion chamber, they rub against the inner walls of the expansion chamber during propagation, thereby destroying the sound waves and achieving noise reduction. When the sound waves in the gas enter the Helmholtz resonance chamber, the air in the Helmholtz resonance chamber vibrates. The resonant waves generated by the air vibrations interact with and cancel out the sound waves in the gas, achieving noise reduction.
[0051] 6 and 7 , the noise reduction chamber 13 may include a first chamber 131, which is disposed adjacent to the accommodating chamber 12. A first air duct 15 is disposed within the first chamber 131 and communicates with the accommodating chamber 12. The wall of the first air duct 15 is provided with a plurality of through-holes 151. The first chamber 131 may function as an expansion chamber. When sound waves pass through the first air duct 15, a portion of the sound waves will pass through the through-holes 151 and enter the first chamber 131. Since the first chamber 131 is closed, this portion of the sound waves will be trapped within the first chamber 131, thereby achieving noise reduction by reducing the number of sound waves in the gas. At the same time, the sound waves in the first chamber 131 will generate friction with the inner wall of the first chamber 131, causing the energy of the sound waves to be consumed. When the sound waves collide with the inner wall of the first chamber 131, the sound waves will also be continuously reflected. The sound waves will also collide with each other to consume the energy of the sound waves. When two sound waves of the same frequency but opposite phases meet, the two sound waves will cancel each other out. In this way, the sound waves trapped in the first chamber 131 will gradually decrease until they disappear. Among them, the arrangement, hole shape and aperture of the multiple through holes 151 can be designed according to actual needs, so that the through holes 151 can have a filtering effect. When the sound waves pass through the first air duct 15, only sound waves of a specific frequency band can pass through the holes 151 and enter the first chamber 131. In this way, the first air duct 15 has a filtering effect on the sound waves of the specific frequency band.
[0052] The first partition plate 141 may be located between the first chamber 131 and the receiving chamber 12. The first partition plate 141 can prevent the first chamber 131 and the receiving chamber 12 from interfering with each other.
[0053] In this embodiment, referring to Figure 7 , the first partition plate 141 can be formed with mesh holes 1411 to connect the first chamber 131 with the storage chamber 12. This allows sound waves within the first chamber 131 to pass through the mesh holes 1411 and enter the storage chamber 12. The sound waves gradually decrease and eventually disappear within the storage chamber 12, allowing the storage chamber 12 to also play a noise reduction role and more effectively utilizing the space within the storage chamber 12. In other words, in this case, the storage chamber 12 itself can also serve as a noise reduction chamber, further enhancing the noise reduction effect of the silencing system.
[0054] At the same time, the noise reduction chamber 13 may also include a second chamber 132, which is arranged adjacent to the first chamber 131. A second partition plate 142 is provided between the first chamber 131 and the second chamber 132. The first air duct 15 passes through the second partition plate 142 to discharge gas into the second chamber 132. The second chamber 132 can be connected to the first exhaust port 11 for exhausting gas. At the same time, sound waves entering the second chamber 132 will generate friction with the inner wall of the second chamber 132, causing the energy of the sound waves to be consumed. At the same time, when the sound waves collide with the inner wall of the second chamber 132, the sound waves will continuously reflect and collide with each other to consume the energy of the sound waves. When two sound waves of the same frequency but opposite phases meet, the two sound waves will cancel each other out, thereby reducing the sound waves in the gas and achieving noise reduction. In this case, the second chamber 132 can be used as an expansion chamber.
[0055] The noise reduction chamber 13 may also include a third chamber 133, which is disposed adjacent to the first chamber 131. The second chamber 132 and the third chamber 133 are disposed on either side of the first chamber 131. A third partition plate 143 is disposed between the first chamber 131 and the third chamber 133. The second chamber 132 is connected to the third chamber 133 via a second air duct 16, which is connected between the second partition plate 142 and the third partition plate 143. The first exhaust port 11 may be disposed in the third chamber 133. The third chamber 133 and the second chamber 132 have the same noise reduction principle, and the third chamber 133 may also serve as an expansion chamber. The sound waves in the gas are reduced by causing friction, reflection, and collision. The third chamber 133 can increase the gas flow path, increase the number of friction, reflection, and collisions of the sound waves, intensify the consumption of the sound waves, and improve the noise reduction effect of the first muffler 1. In FIG7 , the second chamber 132 is connected to the third chamber 133 via the second air duct 16 , and the second air duct 16 passes through the first chamber 131 . Therefore, the second air duct 16 may also be provided with a through hole 151 , so that the second air duct 16 can also filter sound waves in a specific frequency band.
[0056] The noise reduction chamber 13 may also include a fourth chamber 134, which is disposed adjacent to the second chamber 132. A third air duct 17 is provided on a fourth partition plate 144 between the second and fourth chambers 132, 134, to connect the fourth chamber 134 to the second chamber 132. The fourth chamber 134 may function as a Helmholtz resonance chamber. When gas enters the fourth chamber 134 via the third air duct 17, the air column in the third air duct 17 and the gas in the fourth chamber 134 vibrate. This vibration generates a resonant wave, which further interacts with and offsets the sound waves in the gas, achieving noise reduction. In Figure 7, the opening of the third air duct 17 may face the opening of the first air duct 15. This allows the gas to flow faster when entering the fourth chamber 134 via the third air duct 17, thereby enhancing the noise reduction effect of the third air duct 17 and the fourth chamber 134.
[0057] In some embodiments, the gas purification device 2 may include a shell 23, and a purification component 24 is provided inside the shell 23. The purification component 24 is used to purify the exhaust gas. The shell 23 is connected to the first air inlet 21 to receive the gas to be treated. The shell 23 can protect and fix the purification component 24. At the same time, a vibration damping pad can be provided inside the shell 23. Taking the application of the muffler system to the exhaust system of a vehicle as an example, the vehicle will vibrate during driving, and the sound waves will also vibrate when colliding with the inner wall of the noise reduction chamber 13. The use of vibration damping pads can prevent the purification component 24 from shifting or colliding with each other in the shell 23 due to vibration. The purification component 24 here can be a structure that can purify exhaust gas, such as a three-way catalytic converter or a particulate filter.
[0058] Furthermore, the position where the first muffler 1 is connected to the shell 23 forms the above-mentioned first air inlet 21, so that the exhaust gas can first enter the gas purification device 2 and then undergo noise reduction when passing through the first muffler 1. It should be noted here that "the position where the first muffler 1 is connected to the shell 23" may include the shell 23 and may also include the outer shell structure of the first muffler 1. Among them, the first air inlet 21 can be formed by the end of the shell 23 itself. For example, in Figures 2 and 3, the first air inlet 21 can be the air inlet of the gas purification device 2 itself, and can extend directly to the outside of the first muffler 1. The part of the gas purification device 2 extending to the outside of the first muffler 1 is formed with a joint for connecting to the pipe for discharging exhaust gas. The first air inlet 21 can also be formed in the outer shell of the first muffler 1, and the shell 23 of the gas purification device 2 is connected to this position.
[0059] The shell may be formed with a second exhaust port 22 , which can discharge the gas that has been purified but not subjected to noise reduction treatment to other locations in the first muffler 1 .
[0060] Furthermore, there can be multiple purification components 24. Multiple purification components 24 can ensure the effectiveness of the gas purification device 2. At the same time, multiple purification components 24 can be combined with each other to perform multiple purification operations on the gas. For example, there can be two purification components 24, one of which is a three-way catalytic converter and the other is a particulate filter.
[0061] The multiple purification components 24 can be arranged at intervals. In this way, the multiple purification components 24 will not affect each other, ensuring the effectiveness of each purification component 24.
[0062] The plurality of purification components 24 may include a first purification component 241 and a second purification component 242, and the first purification component 241 and the second purification component 242 are arranged along the direction of gas flow, that is, the exhaust gas first passes through the first purification component 241 and then passes through the second purification component 242. Taking the drawing direction of Figure 6 as an example, the first air inlet 21 is arranged at the top of the first muffler 1, and the second exhaust port 22 of the gas purification device is arranged at the bottom of the first muffler 1. At this time, the flow direction of the gas is from the direction of the drawing direction of Figure 6 to the bottom of the drawing direction of Figure 6. At this time, the first purification component 241 and the second purification component 242 can be arranged in the same direction as the gas flow, that is, from top to bottom, and the first purification component 241 is arranged above the second purification component 242.
[0063] Referring to Figures 2 to 5 , the first muffler 1 may be provided with one or more of the following: an oxygen sensor interface, a temperature sensor interface, an EGR interface, and a differential pressure pipe interface. When the purification element 24 is a three-way catalytic converter, an oxygen sensor can be used to determine whether the three-way catalytic converter has failed. The oxygen sensor can be connected to the gas purification device 2 via the oxygen sensor interface. Two oxygen sensors may be provided, one located near the intake and one near the exhaust of the three-way catalytic converter. For example, in the case of a vehicle exhaust system, the oxygen sensor located at the intake end can detect the oxygen content of the exhaust gas to determine whether the fuel in the engine 3 is fully burned. Meanwhile, the oxygen sensor located at the exhaust end can detect the oxygen content of the processed exhaust gas. If the oxygen content detected by the oxygen sensor located at the exhaust end is equal to the oxygen content detected by the oxygen sensor located at the intake end, it indicates that the three-way catalytic converter has failed. The oxygen sensor located at the intake end can also determine the air-fuel ratio of the mixed gas used in the engine 3. If the air-fuel ratio of the mixed gas deviates from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, the three-way catalytic converter's ability to purify CO, HC, and NOx will decrease dramatically. Furthermore, the oxygen sensor will send the detected signal to the ECU. If the air-fuel ratio of the mixed gas deviates from the theoretical air-fuel ratio, the ECU will then adjust the fuel injection amount of the injector. An increase or decrease in the fuel injection amount will change the air-fuel ratio of the mixed gas, so that the concentration of the mixed gas remains at an ideal level. If the air-fuel ratio of the mixed gas is low, it means that the fuel injection amount is too large, the concentration of the mixed gas increases, and the combustion will be insufficient, resulting in an increase in the content of CO and other substances in the exhaust gas. The oxygen sensor at the exhaust end monitors the oxygen content in the exhaust gas after being treated by the three-way catalytic converter and feeds the signal back to the ECU to determine the working condition and working efficiency of the three-way catalytic converter. If the oxygen content is not within the theoretical range, the three-way catalytic converter has failed and needs to be replaced. At the same time, the three-way catalytic converter can achieve the best gas purification effect within a certain temperature range. Therefore, the temperature sensor can be connected to the gas purification device 2 through the temperature sensor interface to determine whether the temperature inside the gas purification device 2 can enable the three-way catalytic converter to reach the optimal working condition.
[0064] When the purification component 24 is a particulate trap, the pressure sensor can be used to determine whether the particulate trap has failed. The pressure sensor is arranged in the pressure differential tube and is connected to the gas purification device 2 through a pressure differential tube structure. Two pressure differential tube structures can be provided, so that two pressure sensors can be provided. The two pressure sensors can be respectively provided near the air inlet and exhaust ends of the particulate trap. Taking the muffler system applied to the exhaust system of a vehicle as an example, the amount of carbon deposits in the particulate trap is determined by detecting the pressure difference between the air inlet and outlet ends of the particulate trap. If the pressure difference is not within the theoretical pressure difference range, the particulate trap needs to be regenerated to remove the particulate matter in the particulate trap.
[0065] The EGR interface is generally connected to the pipeline in the exhaust gas recirculation system, collecting a part of the exhaust gas generated by the engine 3 and re-entering the cylinder of the engine 3 together with the fresh mixed gas. Since the exhaust gas contains a large amount of polyatomic gases such as carbon dioxide, and gases such as carbon dioxide cannot be burned but absorb a large amount of heat due to their high specific heat capacity, the maximum combustion temperature of the mixed gas in the cylinder is reduced, thereby reducing the amount of nitrogen oxides generated.
[0066] The silencer system 100 may also include a second silencer 4, which is installed on the first silencer 1. At this time, the first silencer 1 plays the main role in noise reduction and can be used as a main silencer; and the second silencer 4 is used as an auxiliary silencer, which can assist the first silencer 1 in noise reduction, thereby ensuring that the noise reduction effect is further improved. The second silencer 4 is provided with a second air inlet 411 and a third exhaust port 412. The second air inlet 411 is connected to the first exhaust port 11, and the third exhaust port 412 is used to discharge the gas after noise reduction. The second silencer 4 can increase the flow path of the gas, increase the number of friction, reflection and collision of sound waves, aggravate the consumption of sound waves, and improve the noise reduction effect of the silencer system. At the same time, the second silencer 4 is directly installed on the first silencer 1, which not only ensures the noise reduction effect of the silencer system but also further facilitates the layout and installation of the silencer system.
[0067] The second muffler 4 may also include multiple noise reduction chambers 42 for reducing gas noise, wherein an isolation plate 43 is provided between any two adjacent noise reduction chambers 42. The multiple noise reduction chambers 42 can achieve noise reduction through different noise reduction principles, and the isolation plate 43 can prevent mutual interference between the multiple chambers.
[0068] In the present disclosure, the multiple noise reduction chambers 42 in the second muffler 4 may include a first chamber 421, a second chamber 422, and a third chamber 423 arranged in sequence, as specifically shown in FIG8 . The second muffler 4 may also include a fourth air duct 44, one end of the fourth air duct 44 is connected to the second air inlet 411, and the other end extends to the third chamber 423 via the first chamber 421 and the second chamber 422. Exhaust holes 441 are provided on the wall of the fourth air duct 44 located in the second chamber 422. Multiple exhaust holes 441 are provided on the wall of the fourth air duct 44. When sound waves pass through the fourth air duct 44, a portion of the sound waves will pass through the through hole 151 and enter the second chamber 422. Since the second chamber 422 is closed, this portion of the sound waves will be trapped in the second chamber 422, thereby achieving noise reduction by reducing the number of sound waves in the gas. At the same time, the sound waves in the second cavity 422 will generate friction with the inner wall of the second cavity 422, causing the energy of the sound waves to be consumed. When the sound waves collide with the inner wall of the second cavity 422, the sound waves will also be continuously reflected. The sound waves will also collide with each other to consume the energy of the sound waves. When two sound waves of the same frequency but opposite phases meet, the two sound waves will cancel each other out. In this way, the sound waves trapped in the second cavity 422 will gradually decrease until they disappear. Among them, the arrangement, hole shape and aperture of the multiple exhaust holes 441 can be designed according to actual needs, so that the exhaust holes 441 can have a filtering effect. When the sound waves pass through the fourth air duct 44, only sound waves of a specific frequency band can pass through the hole 151 and enter the second cavity 422. In this way, the fourth air duct 44 has a filtering effect on the sound waves of the specific frequency band.
[0069] The second muffler 4 may also include a fifth air duct 45, which is arranged in communication between the first chamber 421 and the third chamber 423, wherein the third exhaust port 412 is arranged in the first chamber 421. In this way, the gas entering the second muffler 4 will enter the third chamber 423 via the fourth air duct 44, then communicate with the first chamber 421 through the fifth air duct 45 and be exhausted through the third exhaust port 412. The sound waves entering the third chamber 423 and the first chamber 421 will generate friction with the inner walls of the third chamber 423 and the first chamber 421, thereby consuming the energy of the sound waves. At the same time, when the sound waves collide with the inner walls of the third chamber 423 and the first chamber 421, they will continuously reflect and collide with each other to consume the energy of the sound waves. When two sound waves of the same frequency but opposite phases meet, the two sound waves will cancel each other out, thereby reducing the sound waves in the gas and achieving noise reduction.
[0070] 10 , a second aspect of the present disclosure is to provide a vehicle 200 comprising an engine 3 and a muffler system 100 according to any one of the above-described embodiments, and having all of the advantages thereof, which will not be described in detail herein, wherein a first muffler 1 is mounted on the engine 3. The first muffler 1 may be correspondingly provided with a mounting bracket connected to the engine 3, so that the first muffler 1 can be detachably mounted on the engine 3, facilitating assembly and disassembly of the muffler system 100. Furthermore, the first muffler 1 is attached to one side of the engine 3 so as to conform to the shape of the engine 3, thereby saving installation space.
[0071] The first muffler 1 may be provided with heat-insulating cotton on one side thereof abutting the engine 3. Furthermore, the outer periphery of the first muffler 1 may be entirely wrapped with heat-insulating cotton. Since the exhaust gas discharged by the engine 3 has a relatively high temperature, which will cause the temperature of the muffler system 100 to be relatively high, the heat-insulating cotton can reduce heat transfer, thereby preventing the temperature of the muffler system 100 from interfering with the engine 3 and other components in the engine compartment.
[0072] The preferred embodiments of the present disclosure are described in detail above with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, the present disclosure is not limited to the specific details of the above embodiments. Within the technical concept of the present disclosure, various simple variations can be made to the technical solutions of the present disclosure, and these simple variations all fall within the scope of protection of the present disclosure. It should also be noted that the various specific technical features described in the above specific embodiments can be combined in any suitable manner unless there is any contradiction. In order to avoid unnecessary repetition, the present disclosure will not further describe various possible combinations.
[0073] In addition, the various embodiments of the present disclosure may be arbitrarily combined, and as long as they do not violate the concept of the present disclosure, they should also be regarded as the contents disclosed by the present disclosure.
