Abstract
Description
[0001] A GRID FORMWORK SYSTEM
[0002] FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0003] The present disclosure relates to a grid formwork system comprising a plurality of standard elements, at least one longitudinal filler element and at least one cross filler element. BACKGROUND
[0004] Generally, formwork is a temporary mould for concrete to create a pre-defined structure, such as a column, a wall, or a roof. The formwork for the manufacturing of horizontal construction elements, such as roof is known as the slab formwork. The slab formwork is formed as a grid by combining a plurality of beams which can be either primary or secondary beams. The plurality of beams is joined together to form the periphery of the grid and is supported on dropheads fixed to the props and the props sufficiently braced below as per requirement. Plywood is fixed on the top of the grid to form a flat structure onto which the concrete may be poured. During its operation, the formwork is kept assembled until the required concrete strength is achieved.
[0005] Currently, in the existing formwork systems, the primary beams and the secondary beams are either placed over each other or are joined together via fasteners. The primary beams and the secondary beams are generally joined on a construction site and dismantled after completing the construction operation. Such an arrangement is time and cost intensive tasks that affects an overall productivity of the operation. Further, the repetitive joining and dismantling of the primary beams and the secondary beams causes fatigue which reduces their strength. Moreover, majority of existing formwork systems have fixed length as the dimensions of the formwork system cannot be varied once the grid is formed. To vary the dimensions of the formwork system, a new structure is required to be formed by disturbing the already formed grid. This also consumes more time and effort.
[0006] Accordingly, there is an immense need to develop a system that overcomes one or more problems of the existing art.
[0007] SUMMARY
[0008] This summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts, in a simplified format, that are further described in the detailed description of the disclosure. This summary is neither intended to identify key or essential inventive concepts of the disclosure and nor is it intended for determining the scope of the disclosure. The present disclosure relates to a grid formwork system. The grid formwork system is adapted to form a mould for concrete to create a pre-defined structure, such as roof. The grid formwork system may include a plurality of props, a plurality of standard elements, at least one longitudinal filler element and at least one cross filler element. The plurality of standard elements may be mounted on the plurality of props. The at least one longitudinal filler element may be mounted on the plurality of props, adjacent to the plurality of standard elements. The at least one cross filler element may be slidably disposed onto one of the at least one longitudinal filler element and at least one standard element.
[0009] The grid formwork system of the present disclosure eliminates the need for joining the primary beams and the secondary beams on the construction site, as the pair of primary beams of the standard element are joined with the plurality of secondary beams. Further, the dimensions of the grid formwork system may be changed without disturbing the whole structure as the movable primary beam of the longitudinal filler element, is adapted to be laterally moved relative to the primary beam.
