Abstract
Description
Iron recovery device from slag
[0001] The present invention relates to an iron recovery device from slag, and more particularly, to an iron recovery device from slag that can improve the continuity, efficiency, and productivity of iron pickling work by continuously feeding low-purity iron recovered from ironmaking slag into a rotating drum, pickling it using a pickling solution supplied into the rotating drum, and then automatically discharging it.
[0002] The steel industry consumes large amounts of raw materials and energy to produce steel, and through a complex chain of production processes including raw materials, iron making, steel making, and rolling, it generates a large amount of various byproducts and waste.
[0003] These by-products and wastes amount to 65% of the main product, steel, and of these, about 80% of the solid by-products and wastes are slag, and the remainder are generated in the form of dust or sludge.
[0004] Generally, slag generated in steel mills is broadly divided into blast furnace slag generated in the blast furnace process and steelmaking slag generated in the steelmaking process.
[0005] In addition, there are pretreatment slag generated in the pretreatment process of steelmaking, slag generated during oxidation and reduction in electric furnaces, and refining furnace slag in the stainless steelmaking process.
[0006] The slag discharged in this way contains a large amount of iron, and while the iron contained in the slag can be usefully used as a raw material for steel if recovered, it is difficult to find a special use for the slag itself, so the iron is recovered from the slag and the remaining slag is landfilled or used for other purposes.
[0007] Meanwhile, as a method for recovering iron from slag, the method mainly used is to crush the slag to separate the slag and iron, taking advantage of the property that the mineral slag and the metal iron do not adhere easily, and then attach the iron to a magnetic separator to separate them.
[0008] However, there was a problem that the iron recovered through this method of recovering iron using a magnetic separator contained a large amount of impurities, including sulfur, and thus the purity and quality of the iron were low, making it difficult to use it as a raw material for high-quality steel products.
[0009] Thus, a cleaning device has been developed that can obtain high-purity iron by removing various impurities contained in low-purity iron by pickling low-purity iron selected using a magnetic separator, etc. with a pickling solution.
[0010] However, conventional iron cleaning equipment has the problem of taking a long time to discharge low-purity iron recovered from slag by putting it into a pickling tank containing pickling liquid and then pickling the low-purity iron, which results in low productivity.
[0011] In addition, conventional iron cleaning equipment mainly uses a hydrochloric acid mixture with a concentration of 5 to 20 wt% as the pickling liquid supplied to the pickling tank. However, when the pickling of low-purity iron is completed, the pickling liquid contains various impurities, which lowers the concentration of hydrochloric acid, thereby lowering the pickling efficiency. Therefore, the 'spent hydrochloric acid' with a lowered concentration is mainly disposed of. This not only incurs a cost burden, but also has the problem of being unfriendly as secondary pollutants are generated during the disposal process of the spent hydrochloric acid.
[0012] In addition, after the iron that has been put into the pickling tank has been pickled, the conventional iron cleaning device discharges the iron that has been pickled, along with the spent hydrochloric acid with a reduced concentration, and then supplies new pickling solution to the pickling tank again, and then pickles the iron that has been put back into the pickling tank. This makes continuous pickling difficult, which not only reduces productivity, but also increases the cost of pickling as the amount of hydrochloric acid that is the raw material for the pickling solution increases.
[0013] In order to solve the conventional problems as described above, the present invention aims to provide an iron recovery device from slag in which low-purity iron recovered from ironmaking slag is continuously fed into a rotating drum, pickled using a pickling solution supplied into the rotating drum, and then automatically discharged.
[0014] In addition, the present invention aims to provide an iron recovery device from slag that filters the waste acid solution discharged after acid washing and automatically adjusts its concentration to enable reuse.

[0045] Below, with reference to the attached drawings, an embodiment of the present invention is described in detail so that a person having ordinary knowledge in the technical field to which the present invention pertains can easily practice the present invention.
[0046] FIG. 1 is an exemplary diagram showing a configuration according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an exemplary cross-sectional diagram of a rotating drum according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
[0047] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the iron recovery device from slag according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes a support frame (1), a rotating drum (2), a driving means (3), a raw material input unit (4), an acid solution treatment unit (5), and a control unit (6).
[0048] It is preferable that the above support frame (1) be formed longer than the length of the rotary drum (2) so as to support the rotary drum (2) formed in a cylindrical shape lying horizontally so as to be able to rotate.
[0049] In addition, it is desirable to have a skeletal structure in which multiple straight frames are welded to stably support the rotating drum (2), which is a heavy body.

[0051] The size or shape of the above-mentioned inlet (201) is not limited, and it is preferable that the raw material input portion (4) is directly connected to the inlet (201) so that low-purity iron recovered from the ironmaking slag supplied through the raw material input portion (4) is directly supplied into the rotating drum (2).
[0052] The size or shape of the above discharge port (202) is not limited, and the iron discharged from the discharge port (202) can be directly connected to a conveyor or the like for transport to the next process, such as drying, dehydration, or neutralization.
[0053] The above-mentioned transfer screw (203) is formed in a spiral shape on the inner surface of the rotary drum (2), with one end formed adjacent to the inlet (201) and the other end formed adjacent to the outlet (202), so that when iron is fed into the rotary drum (2) through the inlet (201) and the rotary drum (2) rotates around its axis, the iron inside the rotary drum (2) is transferred upward along the inner wall of the rotary drum (2) by the transfer screw (203), and then naturally falls due to its own weight, repeating the process of being transferred from the inlet (201) of the rotary drum (2) toward the outlet (202).
[0054] Meanwhile, the iron conveyed by the conveying screw (203) is conveyed upward along the inner wall of the rotating drum (2) and then naturally falls due to its own weight, and while repeating this process, it is dispersed without clumping or lumping, and the dispersed iron is stirred with the pickling solution filled to a certain level inside the rotating drum (2) and pickled, so that the outer surface of all the iron evenly comes into contact with the pickling solution, thereby improving the pickling efficiency.
[0055] The above driving means (3) is formed on one side of the support frame (1) to rotate the rotary drum (2), and includes a driving motor (301), a chain sprocket (302), a roller chain (303), and a guide roller (304).

[0058] The above roller chain (303) connects a drive sprocket installed on a drive shaft of a drive motor (301) and a chain sprocket (302) formed on the outer surface of a rotary drum (2), thereby transmitting the driving force generated from the drive motor (301) to the chain sprocket (302) to rotate the rotary drum (2).
[0059] The above guide rollers (304) are installed in a plurality of pieces to rotate on the support frame (1) and guide the rotating drum (2) while supporting it so that a stable rotation state can be maintained when the rotating drum (2) rotates by contacting the outer surface of the rotating drum (2).
[0060] The above raw material input section (4) is formed on one side of the rotating drum (2), and continuously inputs low-purity iron recovered from ironmaking slag into the rotating drum (2), and includes a supply conveyor (401) and a supply hopper (402).

[0064] The above acid treatment unit (5) is formed on the other side of the rotary drum (2) and injects acid into the rotary drum (2) so that it reacts with the iron introduced into the rotary drum (2), and includes a filter unit (51), a spent acid storage unit (52), a hydrochloric acid storage unit (53), a water storage unit (54), an acid concentration control unit (55), and an acid storage unit (56).
[0065] The above filter unit (51) filters the waste acid solution discharged from the rotating drum (2).
[0066] That is, after pickling is performed in the rotating drum (2), the surface of the iron discharged is covered with pickling liquid and flows down. At this time, the flowing pickling liquid contains various foreign substances or impurities generated during the pickling process, so the flowing pickling liquid is collected and filtered using a filter member.

[0070] It is preferable to use a dedicated storage container coated with rubber or synthetic resin for the waste acid detergent storage tank (521), and it is to be noted in advance that the capacity of the waste acid detergent storage tank (521) is not limited.
[0071] The above-mentioned waste acid solution concentration measuring means (522) measures the concentration of the waste acid solution stored in the waste acid solution storage tank (521) and provides the measured value to the control unit (6).
[0072] It is preferable that the acid solution concentration measuring means (522) measure the concentration of the acid solution by measuring electrical conductivity, but it is not limited thereto, and any means that can measure the concentration of the acid solution, i.e. the concentration of hydrochloric acid in the acid solution, may be used.
[0073] The above-mentioned spent acid tax discharge valve (523) is installed outside the spent acid tax storage tank (521) and controls the discharge of spent acid tax stored in the spent acid tax storage tank (521).
[0074] It is preferable that the waste acid tax discharge valve (523) be an electronic valve to enable remote control by the control unit (6), but it is not limited thereto.
[0075] The above-mentioned waste acid tax discharge amount measuring means (524) measures the amount of waste acid tax discharged through the waste acid tax discharge valve (523) and provides the measured value to the control unit (6).
[0076] Accordingly, when the spent acid washing liquid discharge valve (523) remotely controlled by the control unit (6) is opened, the spent acid washing liquid stored in the spent acid washing liquid storage tank (521) is discharged and supplied to the acid washing liquid concentration control unit (55), and the amount of the spent acid washing liquid discharged is measured by the spent acid washing liquid discharge amount measuring means (524) and provided to the control unit (6), so that a certain amount of the spent acid washing liquid set by the control unit (6) can be accurately supplied to the acid washing liquid concentration control unit (55), so that the concentration of the acid washing liquid mixed with the spent acid washing liquid, hydrochloric acid, and water in the acid washing liquid concentration control unit (55) can be quickly and accurately controlled.
[0077] The above hydrochloric acid storage unit (53) stores high-concentration hydrochloric acid, which is a raw material for the acid solution, and includes a hydrochloric acid storage tank (531), a hydrochloric acid discharge valve (532), and a hydrochloric acid discharge amount measuring means (533).
[0078] High concentration hydrochloric acid is stored in the above hydrochloric acid storage tank (531).
[0079] High-concentration hydrochloric acid refers to hydrochloric acid distributed and used for industrial purposes. Therefore, it is preferable to use a dedicated storage container coated with rubber or synthetic resin for the hydrochloric acid storage tank (531) to store high-concentration hydrochloric acid distributed and used for industrial purposes. It is to be noted in advance that the capacity of the hydrochloric acid storage tank (531) is not limited.
[0080] The above hydrochloric acid discharge valve (532) is installed outside the hydrochloric acid storage tank (531) and controls the discharge of high-concentration hydrochloric acid stored in the hydrochloric acid storage tank (531).
[0081] It is preferable that the hydrochloric acid discharge valve (532) be an electronic valve to enable remote control by the control unit (6), but it is not limited thereto.
[0082] The above hydrochloric acid discharge amount measuring means (533) measures the amount of high-concentration hydrochloric acid discharged through the hydrochloric acid discharge valve (532) and provides the measured value to the control unit (6).
[0083] Accordingly, when the hydrochloric acid discharge valve (532) remotely controlled by the control unit (6) is opened, the high-concentration hydrochloric acid stored in the hydrochloric acid storage tank (531) is discharged and supplied to the acid solution concentration control unit (55), and the discharge amount of the high-concentration hydrochloric acid is measured by the hydrochloric acid discharge amount measuring means (533) and provided to the control unit (6), so that a certain amount of high-concentration hydrochloric acid set by the control unit (6) can be accurately supplied to the acid solution concentration control unit (55), so that the concentration of the acid solution mixed with the spent acid solution and hydrochloric acid and water in the acid solution concentration control unit (55) can be quickly and accurately controlled.

[0085] The above water storage tank (541) stores water supplied through the water supply unit.
[0086] It is preferable to use general industrial water as the water used at this time, and it is to be noted in advance that the capacity of the water storage tank (541) is not limited.
[0087] The above water discharge valve (542) is installed outside the water storage tank (541) and controls the discharge of water stored in the water storage tank (541).

[0089] The above water discharge amount measuring means (543) measures the amount of water discharged through the water discharge valve (542) and provides the measured value to the control unit (6).
[0090] Accordingly, when the water discharge valve (542) remotely controlled by the control unit (6) is opened, the water stored in the water storage tank (541) is discharged and supplied to the acid concentration control unit (55), and the amount of water discharged is measured by the water discharge amount measuring means (543) and provided to the control unit (6), so that a certain amount of water set by the control unit (6) can be accurately supplied to the acid concentration control unit (55), so that the concentration of the acid solution mixed with the spent acid solution, hydrochloric acid, and water in the acid concentration control unit (55) can be quickly and accurately controlled.

[0092] The above acid concentration control tank (551) mixes the acid waste, hydrochloric acid, and water discharged from the acid waste storage unit (52), the hydrochloric acid storage unit (53), and the water storage unit (54).
[0093] It is preferable to use a dedicated storage container coated with rubber or synthetic resin for the acid concentration control tank (551), and it is to be noted in advance that the capacity of the acid concentration storage tank is not limited.
[0094] In addition, the acid solution concentration control tank (551) may further be equipped with a stirring means for rapid and smooth mixing of the spent acid solution, hydrochloric acid, and water flowing into it.
[0095] The above acid solution concentration measuring means measures the concentration of the acid solution whose concentration has been adjusted in the acid solution concentration adjustment tank (551) and provides the measured value to the control unit (6).
[0096] That is, when the spent acid, hydrochloric acid, and water discharged from the spent acid storage unit (52), the hydrochloric acid storage unit (53), and the water storage unit (54) are mixed inside the acid concentration control tank (551), the concentration of the mixed acid changes. At this time, the concentration of the acid is measured, and the measured value is provided to the control unit (6).
[0097] It is preferable that the means for measuring the concentration of the pickling solution measure the concentration of the pickling solution by measuring the electrical conductivity, but it is not limited to this, and any means that can measure the concentration of the mixed pickling solution, i.e. the concentration of hydrochloric acid in the pickling solution, is possible.
[0098] The above acid solution discharge valve (553) is installed outside the acid solution concentration control tank (551) and controls the discharge of the acid solution whose concentration has been controlled within the acid solution concentration control tank (551).

[0103] The acid solution storage tank (561) above stores the acid solution discharged from the acid solution concentration control unit (55).
[0104] In the pickling solution storage tank (561), the pickling solution is stored as a hydrochloric acid mixture of 5 to 20 wt%, the concentration of which is controlled by the pickling solution concentration control unit (55). Therefore, it is preferable to use a dedicated storage container coated with rubber or synthetic resin. It should be noted in advance that the capacity of the pickling solution storage tank (561) is not limited.
[0105] The above acid solution supply valve (562) is installed outside the acid solution storage tank (561) and controls the acid solution stored in the acid solution storage tank (561) to be supplied to the rotating drum (2).
[0106] It is preferable that the acid solution supply valve (562) be an electronic valve to enable remote control by the control unit (6), but it is not limited thereto.

[0108] The above acid solution supply pump (564) supplies the acid solution stored in the acid solution storage tank (561) to the inside of the rotating drum (2), and its operation is controlled by the control unit (6).
[0109] Accordingly, when the acid solution supply valve (562) remotely controlled by the control unit (6) is opened and the acid solution supply pump (564) operates, the acid solution stored in the acid solution storage tank (561) is supplied to the rotary drum (2), and the amount of acid solution supplied at this time is measured by the acid solution supply amount measuring means (563) and provided to the control unit (6), so that a certain amount of acid solution set by the control unit (6) can be supplied to the rotary drum (2).
[0110] In one embodiment, the acid storage unit (56) may further include an acid heating means (565).
[0111] The above pickling solution heating means (565) heats the pickling solution that has passed through the pickling solution supply valve (562) to a temperature set in the control unit (6) before being supplied to the rotary drum (2), thereby enabling the pickling solution supplied into the rotary drum (2) to be supplied at a temperature that can exhibit optimal efficiency in pickling iron according to changes in season and temperature.
[0112] The above control unit (6) controls the operation of the drive motor (301) of the drive means (3), the conveyor and discharge shutter of the raw material input unit (4), and all valves and pumps of the acid treatment unit (5).
