Description

Rotating Equipment

[0001] The present invention relates to a rotating device that allows a GND terminal connected to a circuit board of a motor to be stably brought into contact with a housing of the motor.

[0002] A known example of a rotating device having a motor is the centrifugal blower disclosed in Patent Document 1. As shown in Fig. 11 , this centrifugal blower includes a casing 10, inside which are housed an impeller 20 having a plurality of blades 21 and a motor 30 that rotates the impeller 20.

[0003] Here, the motor 30 is equipped with a circuit board on which a control circuit and electronic components for driving and controlling the motor 30 are mounted, and a GND pattern formed on the circuit board is connected to a metal motor case.

[0004] Also, a centrifugal blower has been proposed in which a GND wiring connected to a GND pattern on a circuit board is connected to a housing of a motor (see, for example, Patent Document 2). In Patent Document 2, as shown in Fig. 12, an annular end cap 160 is arranged on the other axial end side of a circuit board 144, a pin portion 222 at one end of a connection terminal 200 is connected to the GND pattern, and a contact piece 233 having spring properties that elastically abuts against the inner peripheral surface of a housing 131 is formed at the other end of the connection terminal 200.

[0005] JP 2020-016152 A JP 2022-181887 A

[0006] The connection terminal 200 in Patent Document 2 has a U-shape in side view and is attached to a protrusion 169 formed on the end cap 160 that protrudes radially inward, and when the end cap 160 is joined to the housing 131, the contact piece 233 is pushed into the inside of the housing 131. At that time, a force acts on the contact piece 233 in the direction opposite to the pushing direction, which raises concerns that the top plate portion 220 of the connection terminal 200 may lift off the protrusion 169.

[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to provide a rotating device in which a GND member attached to an end cap can be brought into stable contact with a housing.

[0008] The present invention is a rotating device comprising a motor, a housing made of a conductive material having a cylindrical portion that accommodates the motor, an end cap arranged opposite the inner surface of the cylindrical portion, a circuit board on which a GND circuit is formed, and a terminal, one end of the terminal extending toward one axial end and connected to the GND circuit, the other end of the terminal extending toward the other axial end and supported by the end cap, the other end of the terminal being arranged between the inner surface of the cylindrical portion of the housing and the end cap, and the other end of the terminal being in contact with the inner surface of the cylindrical portion.

[0010] 1 to 10, a centrifugal blower 100 as a rotating device according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described. As shown in Fig. 3, the centrifugal blower 100 includes an impeller 120 that includes an inner space on the axial center side and a plurality of blades 121 arranged in an annular portion around the inner space, and that rotates to exhaust air from the inner space in a centrifugal direction through the plurality of blades 121, a spiral-shaped casing 110 that houses the impeller 120 inside in a freely rotatable state, and an intake port 114 that is a circular opening provided in a position facing the inner space of the impeller 120 and that introduces air into the inner space of the impeller 120.

[0011] The casing 110 is composed of an upper casing 111 molded from resin and a lower casing 112 molded from resin. As shown in Figures 1 and 2(B) , the upper edge of the outer periphery of the lower casing 112 is formed with a plurality of claws 112a that protrude axially upward and radially outward at the upper end, and are spaced equally apart in the circumferential direction. Meanwhile, the outer periphery of the upper casing 111 is formed with a plurality of engaging portions 111a each having a rectangular frame shape. The engaging portions 111a are inserted into and engage with the claws 112a, thereby joining the upper casing 111 and the lower casing 112 together.

[0012] A spiral flow passage 113 (see FIG. 3 ) is formed inside the casing 110. The flow passage 113 has a structure in which the cross-sectional area gradually increases from the start point where the gap between the impeller 120 and the casing 110 is smallest, proceeding in the clockwise circumferential direction in FIG. 1 . A discharge port 115 is formed at the end of the flow passage 113. That is, the spiral flow passage 113 has a structure in which the cross-sectional area gradually increases toward the discharge port 115.

[0013] The upper casing 111 has a suction port 114 that opens in the axial direction. Here, the axis refers to the shaft 151 of the impeller 120, and the axial direction refers to the direction in which it extends. The lower casing 112 has fixing legs 116 for attaching and fixing to another device or housing, and is also equipped with a motor 130 (see Figure 3) for rotating the impeller 120. In Figure 1, reference numeral 116a denotes a metal collar.

[0014] As shown in Figure 3, impeller 120 is fixed to shaft 151 of motor 130, and when motor 130 rotates, impeller 120 rotates. When impeller 120 rotates, air is sucked in through suction port 114 and guided inside impeller 120 (internal space on the axial center side). This air is blown out in a centrifugal direction from the inside of impeller 120 by the action of blades 121. The air blown out from impeller 120 flows through spiral flow path 113 toward discharge port 115 shown in Figure 1 and is exhausted from discharge port 115.

[0015] In the following description, the direction perpendicular to the axial direction is referred to as the "radial direction," and the direction rotating around the shaft 151 is referred to as the "circumferential direction." Terms indicating directions such as "up" and "down" are used to indicate directions in the drawings to which reference is made.

[0016] The impeller 120 has a cup-shaped hub 122 that forms the top surface, a plurality of blades 121 that are arranged with the outer arc-shaped portion of the hub 122 standing upright in the axial direction, and an annular connecting ring 123 that connects the ends of the plurality of blades 121 opposite the hub 122. All of the blades 121 have the same shape, have a forward-facing blade shape that is concave with respect to the direction of rotation of the impeller 120, and are evenly arranged circumferentially. An inner space is provided inside the plurality of blades 121 (towards the axial center), and when the impeller 120 rotates, air is blown out from this inner space in the centrifugal direction through the blades 121.

[0017] As shown in Figure 4, the hub 122 has a boss 124 at its center that protrudes upward in a convex shape, and a through-hole 124a is formed in the boss 124. A cylindrical metal (e.g., brass) bushing 125 is fixed to the inner periphery of this through-hole 124a by insert molding, and a shaft 151 of the motor 130 is press-fitted into the bushing 125, thereby connecting the impeller 120 to the shaft 151. The shaft 151 is the rotating shaft of the motor 130, and by being connected to the impeller 120, it also serves as the rotating shaft of the impeller 120. The hub 122, the plurality of blades 121, and the connecting ring 123 are integrally formed from resin.

[0018] 2. Motor Configuration The motor 130 is an inner rotor type, three-phase brushless motor and includes a cup-shaped housing (cylindrical portion) 131 made of a conductive metal material. A stator 140 is fixed to and in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the housing 131. As shown in FIG. 4 , the stator 140 includes a stator core 141 formed by laminating a predetermined number of cores made of electromagnetic steel sheets, an insulator 142 attached to the stator core 141, three-phase coils 143 wound around the stator core 141 via the insulator 142, and a circuit board 144 disposed below the insulator 142. The stator core 141 has a plurality of teeth 141b extending radially inward from an annular core back portion 141a, and the coils 143 are wound around the teeth 141b via the insulators 142.

[0019] 5, the insulator 142 has a protruding portion 142a that protrudes in the axial direction and contacts the end face of the core back portion 141a. A plurality of grooves 142b are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the protruding portion 142a, and are arranged in the vertical direction (axial direction). Crossover wires 143a of the coil 143 are arranged in the grooves 142b.

[0020] 4, a rotor 150 is disposed inside the stator core 141. The rotor 150 includes a metal shaft 151, a cup-shaped rotor yoke 152 connected to the lower end of the shaft 151, and a ring-shaped rotor magnet 153 fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the rotor yoke 152. A boss portion 152a is formed in the center of the rotor yoke 152, which is made of a magnetic metal material, by, for example, burring, and the shaft 151 and the rotor yoke 152 are connected by press-fitting the shaft 151 into the boss portion 152a.

[0021] A boss portion 131a is formed in the center of the housing 131, and a metal (e.g., brass) bearing holder 132 is press-fitted into the boss portion 131a. A pair of ball bearings 133 are attached to the bearing holder 132, and the shaft 151 is rotatably supported by the pair of ball bearings 133. A compression coil spring 134 is interposed between the pair of ball bearings 133, and applies a preload to the ball bearings 133 by biasing the outer rings of the ball bearings 133.

[0022] As shown in Figure 4, a plurality of flanges 131b extending radially outward are formed at equal intervals around the periphery of the opening of the housing 131. A long through-hole 131c is formed in each flange 131b along the circumferential direction. As will be described later, this through-hole 131c is used to connect the housing 131 and the lower casing 112.

[0023] 4, a circuit board 144 having a circuit mounted thereon for driving and controlling the motor 130 is disposed axially below the stator core 141. Terminals 143c of the coil 143 wound around the stator core 141 are inserted into through-holes (not shown) that are connected to wiring patterns formed on the mounting surface of the circuit board 144, and are connected with solder 145.

[0024] 3. End Cap Configuration A ring-shaped resin end cap 160 is attached to the axially lower side of the housing 131. Fig. 6 is a plan view of the end cap 160, and Fig. 7 is a perspective view. The end cap 160 includes an outer annular portion 161 that forms the outer peripheral wall, and an inner annular portion 162 that is positioned radially inward relative to the outer annular portion 161. A pocket portion 163 that protrudes radially inward is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the outer annular portion 161.

[0025] The pocket portion 163 is a cylindrical portion having a generally triangular shape in a plan view and open at both ends. A notch (not shown) is formed in the outer peripheral edge of the circuit board 144 in accordance with the position of the pocket portion 163. The common coupling portion of the coil 143 of each phase protrudes axially from the notch in the circuit board 144 and is inserted into the pocket portion 163.

[0026] On the outer peripheral surface of the outer annular portion 161 of the end cap 160, multiple (four in this example) flange portions 164 protruding radially outward are formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, and long through holes 164a are formed in the flange portions 164 along the circumferential direction.

[0027] A connector housing 166 is formed integrally with the end cap 160. A metal connector pin 167 is formed integrally with the connector housing 166 by insert molding. One end of the connector pin 167 protrudes toward the circuit board 144, and the other end protrudes into the internal space of the connector housing 166 and is connected to a socket inserted into the connector housing 166.

[0028] The inner annular portion 162 of the end cap 160 is formed with a plurality of (two in this example) generally triangular protrusions 168 that protrude radially inward. Each of the protrusions 168 has a fixing pin 168a that protrudes upward. Meanwhile, the circuit board 144 is formed with a through-hole (not shown) through which the fixing pin 168a is inserted, and the fixing pin 168a is thermally caulked to fix the circuit board 144 to the end cap 160.

[0029] The inner annular portion 162 of the end cap 160 is formed with a plurality of (two in this example) inner circumferential flange portions 169 that protrude radially inward at the positions of the flange portions 164. Terminals 200 are attached to the inner circumferential flange portions 169. The terminals 200 are made of a material having spring properties, and as shown in FIG. 9 , are crank-shaped in side view, with a rectangular support plate portion (support portion) 210 forming the center of the crank. Materials having spring properties and excellent conductivity include, for example, metals such as phosphor bronze and stainless steel for springs, and may also be conductive resins.

[0030] An opening 211 is formed in the center of the support plate 210. A first side plate 220 extends from one edge of the support plate 210, perpendicular to the support plate 210. The portion of the first side plate 220 closest to the support plate 210 is tapered into a triangular shape, and at the tip of that is formed an angular pin 222 that is inserted into a through-hole 144a (see FIG. 5) formed in the circuit board 144.

[0031] A second side plate (other end) 230 perpendicular to the support plate 210 extends from the other edge of the support plate 210 of the terminal 200 in the opposite direction to the first side plate 220. The second side plate 230 has an opening 231 in a portion close to the support plate 210. A generally U-shaped notch 232 is formed at the end of the opening 231, and a contact piece (other end) 233 bent toward the outside of the terminal 200 is formed inside the notch 232. Specifically, the inner portion of the notch 232 is bent radially outward at the point where both ends of the notch 232 are joined, and the protruding contact piece 233 comes into contact with the housing 131.

[0032] 8 , a through-hole 160a is formed between the outer annular portion 161 and the inner annular portion 162 of the inner flange portion 169, penetrating the inner flange portion 169 in the axial direction. A convex portion 169a projecting axially upward is formed in the approximate center of the inner flange portion 169. An engaging portion 169b projecting radially outward is formed on the radially outer side of the inner annular portion 162, which extends axially downward from the inner flange portion 169. An inclined surface 169c is formed adjacent to the engaging portion 169b. The terminal 200 is fixed to the end cap 160 by inserting its second side plate portion 230 into the through-hole 160a, fitting the convex portion 169a into the opening 211 formed in the support plate portion 210, and engaging the engaging portion 169b with the opening 231 formed in the second side plate portion 230.

[0033] In this state, the second side plate portion 230 of the terminal 200 is disposed between the inner annular portion 162 of the end cap 160 and the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131 , and the contact piece 233 is in elastic contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131 .

[0034] 8C , a protrusion 169d that protrudes toward the support plate 210 is formed on the upper surface of the inner flange 169 at a position on the first side plate 220 side. This protrusion 169d lifts the right end of the support plate 210 of the terminal 200 upward, and urges the terminal 200 in the counterclockwise direction in the figure. As a result, the second side plate 230 of the terminal 200 is pressed against the inner annular portion 162 of the end cap 160.

[0035] As shown in FIG. 5 , the pin portion 222 of the terminal 200 passes through a through-hole 144a formed in the circuit board 144 and is joined with solder 144b on the opposite mounting surface. The through-hole 144a is connected to a GND pattern (solid pattern) formed on the circuit board 144. Here, GND refers to the reference potential for the voltage within the circuit, and the GND circuit refers to the circuit that provides that potential. In this embodiment, a structure called a frame GNG (ground) is used, and the reference potential for all circuits is unified in the housing 131. Furthermore, the inner annular portion 162 of the end cap 160 is disposed on the outer periphery of the jumper wire 143a of the coil 143, and the housing 131 is disposed on the outer periphery of the inner annular portion 162. In other words, the housing 131 and the jumper wire 143a face each other in the radial direction via the inner annular portion 162. In this way, the inner annular portion 162 prevents contact between the jumper wire 143a and the housing 131, resulting in a short circuit.

[0036] The attachment structure of the end cap 160 will now be described with reference to Figure 5. As shown in Figure 5, a boss 112b that protrudes downward in the figure is formed near the opening of the lower casing 112. The boss 112b protrudes downward through a through-hole 131c formed in the flange 131b of the housing 131 and a through-hole 164a formed in the flange 164 of the end cap 160, and its lower end is thermally caulked to form a head 112c that presses against the flange 164. With this configuration, the end cap 160 is joined to the lower casing 112.

[0037] A resin cover 170 is attached to the end cap 160 to prevent dust, foreign matter, and the like from entering the motor 130. The cover 170 is generally cup-shaped, and its peripheral edge 171 extends in the axial direction. As shown in FIG. 2 , the peripheral edge 171 of the cover 170 is formed with a plurality of (three in this example) flanges 172 that protrude radially outward, and screws 173 are inserted into the flanges 172. The cover 170 is detachably attached to the end cap 160 by pressing the peripheral edge 171 of the cover 170 axially along the outer periphery of the outer annular portion 161 of the end cap 160 and threading the screws 173 into the lower casing 112.

[0038] 8(B) , when the second side plate portion 230 of the terminal 200 is inserted into the through-hole 160a formed between the outer annular portion 161 and the inner annular portion 162, the second side plate portion 230 rides up onto the inclined surface 169c of the end cap 160, and then the engaging portion 169b fits into the opening 231 of the second side plate portion 230. At the same time, the convex portion 169a of the inner flange portion 169 fits into the opening 211 of the support plate portion 210, thereby fixing the terminal 200 to the end cap 160.

[0039] ii) Coupling of Circuit Board and End Cap The circuit board 144 is brought close to the end cap 160 from below in FIG. 4, and the fixing pins 168a of the protrusions 168 are inserted into the through-holes (not shown) of the circuit board 144, and then caulked and fixed on the opposite mounting surface. This completes the coupling of the end cap 160 and the circuit board 144. Simultaneously with this insertion operation, the angular ends of the multiple connector pins 167 are inserted into the through-holes (not shown) from the mounting surface side of the circuit board 144. Then, the tips of the connector pins 167 protruding from the opposite mounting surface of the circuit board 144 are connected with solder.

[0040] 5, the angular pin portion 222 of the terminal 200 is inserted into the through-hole 144a formed in the circuit board 144 and connected to the GND pattern. The pin portion 222 of the terminal 200 protruding from the opposite mounting surface of the circuit board 144 is connected with solder 144b.

[0041] iii) Connection between the motor and the end cap The terminals 143c of the coils 143 wound around the stator 140 of the motor 130 are bundled and twisted together to form a common line connection. The terminals 143c of the coils 143 that make up this common line connection are soldered together and cut to a predetermined length. This soldered common line connection is then bent upright so that it is parallel to the axial direction. The terminals 143c of the coils 143 of each phase are also bent upright so that it is parallel to the axial direction.

[0042] The terminals 143c of the coils 143 are inserted into predetermined through-holes from the opposite mounting surface of the circuit board 144, and the common line coupling portions are housed in pockets 163 formed in the end cap 160, protruding toward the mounting surface from notches formed on the outer periphery of the circuit board 144. The above operation is performed by bringing the end cap 160, to which the circuit board 144 is coupled, and the housing 131 of the motor 130 close to each other. Then, the tips of the terminals 143c of the coils 143 protruding toward the mounting surface are connected with solder 145.

[0043] The above operation brings the contact piece 233 of the terminal 200 into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131. As shown in Fig. 5, the contact piece 233 of the terminal 200 protrudes radially outward in an unloaded state, but by pushing the contact piece 233 into the gap between the outer annular portion 161 of the end cap 160 and the housing 131, the contact piece 233 is pushed radially inward by the housing 131 and elastically abuts against the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131. This sets the GND pattern of the circuit board 144 to the reference potential (e.g., zero volts).

[0044] 3, the motor 130, to which the end cap 160 and circuit board 144 are connected, is inserted from below into the lower opening of the lower casing 112. At this time, as shown in FIG. 5, boss portions 112b formed around the opening of the lower casing 112 are inserted into through-holes 131c formed in the flange portion 131b of the housing 131 and through-holes 164a formed in the flange portion 164 of the end cap 160.

[0045] Then, the tip of the boss portion 112b protruding from the through-hole 164a of the flange portion 164 of the end cap 160 is heated and expanded to cause plastic deformation, thereby forming a head portion 112c. By forming this head portion 112c, the end cap 160 is joined to the lower casing 112.

[0046] v) Connecting the Impeller to the Motor The impeller 120 is inserted into the opening on the upper side of the lower casing 112, and the upper end of the shaft 151 is press-fitted into the bushing 125 of the impeller 120. Next, the upper casing 111 is attached to the lower casing 112.

[0047] According to the centrifugal blower 100 configured as described above, the pin portion 222 of the terminal 200 extends toward the circuit board 144 and is connected to the GND pattern, the second side plate portion 230 of the terminal 200 is supported by the end cap 160, and the contact piece 233 is inserted between the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131 and the end cap 160 and is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131. Therefore, the reaction force acting on the terminal 200 during insertion is received by the inner annular portion 162, which exists in the direction of the reaction force. This prevents the support plate portion 210 of the terminal 200 from separating from the inner peripheral flange portion 169.

[0048] In particular, in the above embodiment, a protrusion 169d that protrudes toward the support plate portion 210 of the terminal 200 is formed at the end of the inner flange portion 169 on the side of the first side plate portion 220 of the terminal 200, so that the second side plate portion 230 of the terminal 200 is pressed against the outer annular portion 161 of the end cap 160, and the terminal 200 can be firmly supported by the inner flange portion 169 and the inner annular portion 162.

[0049] In addition, in the above embodiment, the inner flange portion 169 has a protrusion 169a that protrudes toward the support plate portion 210, and the support plate portion 210 of the terminal 200 has an opening 231 into which the protrusion 169a fits, thereby preventing radial positional displacement of the terminal 200.

[0050] In addition, in the above embodiment, an engaging portion 169b that protrudes radially outward is formed on the inner annular portion 162 that is continuous with the inner flange portion 169, and an opening 231 that engages with the engaging portion 169b is formed on the second side plate portion 230 of the terminal 200.Therefore, when the contact piece 233 of the terminal 200 is inserted between the inner surface of the housing 131 and the end cap 160, the reaction force acting on the terminal 200 can be reliably received by the engaging portion 169b.

[0051] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, a through hole 160a is formed between the inner flange portion 169 and the outer annular portion 161 in the axial direction, and the second side plate portion 230 of the terminal 200 is inserted into the through hole 160a, thereby preventing a decrease in the strength of the end cap 160.

[0052] 5. Modifications The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment and various modifications are possible, as described below. i) In the above embodiment, the protrusion 169d is formed on the inner flange portion 169. However, as shown in FIG. 10 , the angle θ between the support plate portion 210 and the second side plate portion 230 can be set smaller than the angle between the inner flange portion 169 and the inner annular portion 162. This configuration can also be used in conjunction with the protrusion 169d. Even with this configuration, the support plate portion 210 and the second side plate portion 230 press against the inner flange portion 169 and the inner annular portion 162 due to their spring properties, allowing the terminal 200 to be firmly attached to the inner flange portion 169 and the inner annular portion 162.

[0053] ii) The terminal 200 may be flat rather than crank-shaped as in the above embodiment. iii) The terminal 200 may be molded integrally with the end cap 160. For example, the terminal 200 may be injection molded as an insert material such that the contact piece 233 and the pin portion 222 protrude from the end cap 160.

[0054] iv) The housing 131 is not limited to being made of metal, but may be made of, for example, conductive resin. v) The present invention is not limited to centrifugal fans as in the above embodiment, but is applicable to any rotating equipment having a motor, such as axial fans, sirocco fans, air conditioners, and vacuum cleaners.

[0055] A flow path 113 through which air passes is also formed between the impeller 120 and the housing 131. In addition, the stator 140 is fixed in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing 131, so heat generated in the stator 140 or the coil 143, or heat generated in the circuit board 144 and transferred to the stator 140, can be transferred to the housing 131. Since the housing 131 forms the flow path 113 through which air passes between it and the impeller 120, the heat is transferred to the air passing through the flow path, thereby improving the heat dissipation performance of the motor 130.

[0056] The present invention can also be applied to a blower for supplying air to a fuel cell system. In this case, even if the fuel cell system vibrates (for example, when an on-board fuel cell system vibrates due to the vehicle running), the GND terminal can be kept in stable contact with the motor housing, ensuring stable operation of the rotating equipment.

[0057] The present invention can be used in the industrial field of rotating equipment having a part rotated by a motor.
