Description

[0001] GAS COOLING AND WASHING EQUIPMENT

[0002] Technical field

[0003] The invention relates to the technical field of water electrolysis hydrogen production, in particular to gas cooling washing equipment (also called gas cooling scrubbing equipment).

[0004] Background art

[0005] The common alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production device is to generate hydrogen and oxygen by using KOH solution with the electrolysis concentration of about 30 percent, wherein KOH is not consumed in the water electrolysis reaction and is only used as strong electrolyte to promote the water electrolysis reaction. Therefore, the KOH is not needed to be supplemented in the theoretical operation of the equipment, and only the consumed water is needed to be supplemented.

[0006] However, in the actual operation of the product, the normal operating temperature of the electrolytic cell is about 85 °C, and the generated hydrogen and oxygen enter the gasliquid separator together with the electrolyte in a gas- liquid mixed mode. The large number of fine droplets produced when the bubbles break form alkali mist which is discharged with hydrogen and oxygen, and thus the alkali is lost during the operation of producing hydrogen by water electrolysis. When the alkali is lost to a certain extent, the alkali must be supplemented into the system, otherwise, the alkali concentration is affected, and the energy consumption of the unit gas production of the electrolytic cell is affected.

[0007] Moreover, the alkali loss is not only a resource waste, but also can affect the quality of the gas, the purification treatment possibly performed at the downstream and the analysis of the gas quality by the instrument, so that the recycling of the alkali carried in the gas as much as possible is important . For a common water electrolysis hydrogen production device, a washing device is generally provided with raw material water with a certain liquid level, and is provided with an overflow port, when electrolyte raw material water in the oxyhydrogen scrubber adsorbs part of alkali and water vapor, the liquid level of the electrolyte raw material water is higher than the overflow port, and then the electrolyte raw material water enters the separator from the overflow port to supplement alkali.

[0008] However, after the gas enters this type of scrubber, there is often a problem that the gas is not uniformly distributed and flows out too quickly, resulting in insufficient and incomplete washing. Moreover, simply passing the gas into the raw water does not cool the gas enough, and a large exchanger needs to be installed downstream. A hot area gas cooler is used to further cool the gas and remove water. Thus, further improvements are needed for existing gas cooled scrubbing equipment.

The first housing 11 contains a liquid, such as water and an electrolyte in a gas-liquid mixture. At least a portion of the first cooling assembly 122 is immersed in the electrolyte. The cooling liquid enters the first cooling pipe 1223 from the first coolant gas inlet 1221 and exchanges heat with the liquid in the first housing 11. Then the liquid in the first housing 11 can exchange heat with the gas-liquid mixture to reduce the temperature of said gas-liquid mixture. The cooling liquid then exits the first cooling pipe 1223 from the first coolant gas outlet 1222. The material of the first cooling pipe 1223 is preferably a material having a high thermal conductivity, for example, stainless steel, copper, aluminium, titanium, or the like. The first curved section may extend the length of the first cooling pipe 1223. This extends the flow path of the cooling fluid within the first cooling pipe 1223 and / or reduces the amount of cooling fluid used by the cooling fluid by further reducing the temperature of the gas-liquid mixture due to the longer heat exchange time between the cooling fluid and the gas-liquid mixture. In a specific embodiment, the second treatment device 22 may include a second diffusion component 221. The second diffusion component 221 is disposed in the second housing 21, and the second diffusion component 221 is configured to make the gas-liquid mixture flow uniformly, and / or reduce the flow speed of the gas-liquid mixture, and / or the second dispersion component 221 can uniformly disperse the gas-liquid mixture in the detergent or the cooling liquid and / or increase the contact area between the gasliquid mixture and / or the liquid, and / or improve the adsorption and cooling effects on the impurities in the gas-liquid mixture.

The material of the second filling part 2214 may be a ceramic material, a plastic material, a metal material, a polymer material, or the like. A second filling part 2214 in ceramic has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, high-temperature stability and high mechanical strength. A second filling part 2214 in plastic has the advantages of low cost, portability and good insulating property, and can provide a larger gas-liquid contact area. A second filling part 2214 in metal mainly comprises metal wires, metal grids and other forms. The metal could be common metal materials including stainless steel, copper, aluminium and the like. A second filling part 2214 i metal has excellent heat conducting performance and mechanical strength, and can effectively promote heat transfer in the gas cooling process. Preferably, the second treatment device 22 may further include a second cooling assembly 222, the second cooling assembly 222 including a second coolant gas inlet 2221, a second coolant gas outlet 2222, and a second cooling pipe 2223 disposed between the second coolant gas inlet 2221 and the second coolant gas outlet 2222. The second cooling pipe 2223 is disposed in the second housing 21. The second coolant gas inlet 2221 and the second coolant gas outlet 2222 are disposed on the second housing 21. The second cooling assembly 222 is for reducing the temperature of the gas-liquid mixture. In the present embodiment, the second coolant gas inlet 2221 and the second coolant gas outlet 2222 are both provided on the side wall of the second housing 21. The second coolant gas inlet 2221 is provided above the second coolant gas outlet 2222. The cooling liquid enters the second cooling pipe 2223 from the second cooling liquid gas inlet 2221 and exchanges heat with the gas-liquid mixture in the second housing 21. This lowers the temperature of the gas-liquid mixture. The cooling liquid then exits the second cooling pipe 2223 from the second coolant gas outlet 2222. At least a portion of the second cooling assembly 222 is wrapped in the second filling portion 2214. The second cooling assembly 222 may decrease the temperature of the second filling portion 2214, and / or the second filling portion 2214 may decrease the temperature of the gas-liquid mixture, thereby improving the cooling effect of the second cooling assembly 222.

[0046] The material of the second cooling pipe 2223 is preferably a material having a high thermal conductivity, for example, stainless steel, copper, aluminium, titanium, or the like. The second cooling pipe 2223 having a large thermal conductivity can accelerate heat exchange between the cooling liquid and the gas-liquid mixture, thereby improving cooling efficiency.

[0047] The second cooling pipe 2223 may include a second curved section, which may be one or more of spiral, S-shaped, and scroll-shaped. The second curved section may extend the length of the second cooling pipe 2223. This extends the flow path of the cooling fluid within the second cooling pipe 2223, and / or reduces the amount of cooling fluid by further reducing the temperature of the gas-liquid mixture due to a longer heat exchange time between the cooling fluid and the gas-liquid mixture.

[0048] Preferably, the second treatment device 22 may further comprise a gas-liquid separation component 223, the gasliquid separation 223 being configured to separate gas and liquid in the gas-liquid mixture. The separated gas leaves the second housing 21 through the gas outlet 211 and the separated electrolyte returns to the first housing 11 through the casing assembly 3. Thus the recovery of the electrolyte in the gas-liquid mixture is improved and / or the gas quality is improved and / or the burden of subsequent treatment equipment can be lightened and / or part of the subsequent treatment equipment can be cancelled and / or the equipment cost is reduced and / or the equipment structure is simplified.

[0049] Specifically, the gas-liquid separation assembly 223 further includes a wire mesh foam remover 2231 and a return pipe 2232. One end of the return pipe 2232 is connected with the wire mesh foam remover 2231 and the other end of the return pipe 2232 is connected with the casing assembly 3. The wire mesh foam remover 2231 is used for removing liquid in the gas-liquid mixture. Thus, the liquid flows into the casing assembly 3 through the return pipe 2232. In a specific embodiment, the first housing 11 may be provided with an overflow port 112. The electrolyte in the first housing 11 may flow out through the overflow port 112. The overflow 112 may be connected to the electrolytic cell so that the electrolyte may flow into the electrolytic cell. The overflow port 112 is preferably located above the first cooling assembly 122, so that the first cooling assembly 122 is immersed in the electrolyte in the first housing 11. Thus, heat exchange between the first cooling assembly 122 and the cooling liquid is more complete, and the cooling effect of the first cooling module 122 is improved.

[0050] The second housing 21 may be provided with a water supply port 212. Water is then replenished to the first housing 11 through the water supply port 212. The water supply port 212 is disposed in the middle of the second housing 21 for example at an upper position. Thus the water not contained in the water supply port 212 can flush the second filling portion 2214. Thus, the temperature of the second filling portion 2214 can be reduced, and / or the electrolyte on the second filling portion 2214 can be flushed and reflowed to the first housing 11.

[0051] While embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described, it will be understood that the above embodiments are illustrative and not to be construed as limiting the invention, and that changes, modifications, substitutions and alterations may be made therein by those of ordinary skill in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention, all such changes being within the scope of the appended claims.
