Description

[0001] ADAPTER DEVICE; SYSTEM WITH A DRAIN, A SHAFT AND AT LEAST ONE

[0002] ADAPTER DEVICE; ADAPTER SET

[0003] Description

[0004] The invention relates to an adapter device for covering a space between a shaft and a trench in the vertical direction, a system with a trench, a shaft and such an adapter device, and an adapter set with at least two such adapter devices.

[0005] Infiltration trenches are used for surface drainage. They are typically installed underground and can absorb large volumes of surface water, which can then drain into the ground.

[0006] It is common practice to integrate vertical shafts into infiltration trenches that extend to the surface, for example, to install smart solution devices, pumping stations, or sedimentation systems in the shafts in a protected and easily accessible manner, or to create direct maintenance access through the shaft. To prevent foreign matter, such as from the overlying soil, from entering between the shaft and the infiltration trench, the cross-sections of such shafts are typically adapted to the geometry of the infiltration trench. The manufacture, transport to the installation site, and on-site assembly of such custom-made shafts is complex and time-consuming.

[0007] The object of the present invention is therefore to facilitate the integration of shafts into infiltration trenches. In particular, the manufacturing, transport, and assembly costs for integrating shafts into infiltration trenches are to be reduced.

[0008] This object is achieved by an adapter device according to claim 1, a system according to claim 13, and an adapter set according to claim 18. Specifically, the object is achieved according to the invention by an adapter device for covering a gap between a shaft and a trench in the vertical direction. The adapter device has a cutout for receiving the shaft, which is adapted at least in sections to the outer circumference of the shaft. The adapter device has a support surface arranged on a side opposite the cutout and designed to interact with the trench in a force-fitting manner in the vertical direction.

[0009] The invention is therefore based on the idea of providing an adapter device that, when installed, covers the entire space between a shaft and a trench in the vertical direction, particularly completely, and thus essentially prevents foreign bodies, for example, from the overlying part of the soil, from entering the space. This allows any shaft to be used, eliminating the need for special manufacturing. This significantly reduces manufacturing, transport, and assembly costs.

[0010] In particular, the adapter device according to the invention enables the use of shafts in standard sizes that are widely known and available. This further reduces manufacturing, transport, and assembly costs.

[0011] The adapter device according to the invention offers further advantages. Since the cutout is adapted to the cross-section of the shaft, additional means for covering a gap between the adapter device and the shaft can be eliminated. The smaller number of components further reduces assembly and manufacturing costs. The support surface enables particularly simple installation of the adapter device on the infiltration trench, since only the support surface needs to be brought into contact with the infiltration trench. Furthermore, the cutout and the support surface give the adapter device a relatively simple design.

[0012] The adapter device according to the invention is designed to cover a gap between a shaft and a trench in the vertical direction.

[0013] Specifically, the adapter device is used to cover a gap between a vertical shaft of standard sizes, such as DN800, DN1000, or DN1200, and a modular infiltration trench comprising block-shaped infiltration elements. The adapter device can also be used to cover gaps between other shafts and infiltration trenches. It is also possible to use the inventive concept generally in connection with covering gaps.

[0014] Preferred embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

[0015] It is advantageous if the adapter device has two connecting means for connection to at least one further adapter device, wherein the cutout is arranged between the connecting means. The connecting means create the possibility of combining the adapter device with at least one further, in particular identical, adapter device to form a modular adapter unit. In this case, the adapter devices, when connected, each cover a part of the entire space between the shaft and the infiltration trench, such that the adapter unit covers the entire space, in particular completely. The connecting means advantageously expand the range of applications of the adapter device. In addition, a smaller structural size of the adapter device is enabled, which advantageously facilitates production and transport.Installation is also made easier because the adapter device can be connected to and separated from at least one other adapter device directly at the installation site as required.

[0016] Preferably, the connecting means form two counterparts of a positive connection, in particular a plug-in connection. The positive connection forms a particularly simple and efficient connection, which further reduces manufacturing and assembly costs. For particularly simple assembly, the connecting means preferably form two different counterparts, so that it is immediately apparent which counterparts are to be connected.

[0017] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the adapter device is flat, in particular plate-shaped. In other words, the adapter device has a height that is many times less than the extension of the adapter device transversely to the height direction. Due to this material saving in the height direction, the adapter device advantageously has a reduced weight and a reduced size. The reduced size also has the advantage that more adapter devices can be transported, for example stacked, with the same loading volume. The flat shape also reduces the impairment of the adapter device to the top of the infiltration trench, thus making it easier, for example, to apply an additional layer, e.g. a covering layer, to the infiltration trench.

[0018] In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the cutout is circular in shape. This advantageously adapts the adapter direction to use with standard-sized shafts, which typically have a round cross-section.

[0019] For a large support surface, it is advantageous if the support surface encloses the cutout at least partially, especially on one side. This allows the force, for example, the weight of the overlying soil, acting from above on the adapter device to be transmitted into the trench over a larger area. This improves force distribution and increases the stability of the adapter device.

[0020] To cover a corner area of the infiltration trench, it is advantageous if the support surface forms an angle, particularly a right angle. This also facilitates the use of the adapter device with modular infiltration trenches, which, for example, comprise block-shaped infiltration trench elements.

[0021] Preferably, a fixing element is formed on an underside of the adapter device, which is adapted to interact with the infiltration trench in a form-fitting manner in a horizontal direction. Due to the form-fitting arrangement, the fixing element fixes the adapter device relative to the infiltration trench in a horizontal direction, thereby preventing the adapter device from slipping relative to the infiltration trench in this direction during assembly and operation. The fixing element also facilitates assembly by advantageously specifying the position of the adapter device on the infiltration trench and acting as a guide rail during positioning. In order to further improve the fixation of the adapter device relative to the infiltration trench, it is advantageous if the adapter device has two fixing elements that are adapted to interact with the infiltration trench in a form-fitting manner in two opposite, in particular mutually perpendicular, directions. This prevents the adapter device from slipping relative to the trench in two opposite horizontal directions. Furthermore, such fixing elements facilitate positioning of the adapter device in a corner area of the trench by adapting to the side walls of the trench in this corner area.

[0022] To increase the stability of the adapter device, it is advantageous if at least one reinforcing rib is formed on the underside. Such a reinforcing rib increases the stability of the adapter device against a force, for example, the weight of the overlying part of the floor, acting on the adapter device from above. The reinforcing rib can also be connected to at least one fixing element, so that it advantageously further increases the stability of the adapter device by absorbing and dissipating forces acting on a fixing element.

[0023] The adapter device preferably has a flat upper surface. This allows the impact of the adapter device on the top of the trench to be further reduced, for example, to facilitate the application of an additional layer, such as a covering layer, to the trench using the adapter device.

[0024] For simple production and reduced weight, the adapter device is preferably made of a plastic, in particular polyethylene.

[0025] Within the scope of the invention, a system comprising a trench, a shaft, and at least one adapter device as described above is also specified. The shaft is arranged in the cutout of the adapter device such that the distance between the adapter device and the shaft is minimal, with the support surface interacting with the trench in a force-fitting manner in the vertical direction. Regarding the effect and advantages of the system according to the invention, reference is made to the explanations in connection with the adapter device. The adapter device is therefore disclosed and claimed both as part of the system and on its own, i.e., independently of the system.

[0026] In a preferred embodiment, the system comprises at least two, in particular four, adapter devices that are connected to one another in such a way that they enclose the shaft at least in sections. When connected to one another, the adapter devices thus form a modular adapter unit, wherein the adapter devices each cover a part of the entire intermediate space between the shaft and the infiltration trench in the vertical direction and, with their cutouts, together enclose the shaft at least in sections, such that the adapter unit covers the entire intermediate space, in particular completely. This modular design advantageously expands the range of applications of the system. Furthermore, the size of the individual adapter devices is reduced, which advantageously facilitates production and transport.Installation is also made easier because the adapter devices can be connected and separated directly at the installation site as required.

[0027] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the adapter devices are designed identically. This reduces the complexity of the adapter devices and thus the system, thereby reducing manufacturing and transport costs. Furthermore, assembly costs are reduced because the adapter devices can be used equally well in different orientations.

[0028] For high system stability, it is preferred that the shaft be made of concrete and / or have a round cross-section. This also facilitates the use of standardized shafts, which are typically made of concrete and have a round cross-section.

[0029] It is preferred that the drainage ditch be made of plastic and / or block-shaped drainage elements. A plastic drainage ditch is advantageously easy to manufacture and lightweight, thus reducing transport and assembly costs. A modular design using block-shaped drainage elements can further reduce manufacturing, transport, and assembly costs.

[0030] A further, subordinate aspect of the invention relates to an adapter set comprising at least two, in particular four, identically designed adapter devices as described above. The adapter devices can be connected to one another by the connecting means in such a way that the cutouts together form a shape that is adapted, at least in sections, to the outer circumference of the shaft.

[0031] For the effect and advantages of the adapter set according to the invention, reference is made to the explanations in connection with the adapter device and the system. The adapter device is thus disclosed and claimed both as part of the adapter set and on its own, i.e., independently of the adapter set.

[0032] The invention is explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments with reference to the attached schematic drawings. In these drawings:

[0033] Fig. 1 is a bottom view of an adapter device according to an embodiment of the invention;

[0034] Fig. 2 is a plan view of a system according to an embodiment of the invention;

[0035] Fig. 3 shows a cross-section through the system according to Fig. 2;

[0036] Fig. 4 is a detailed view of the cross-section of Fig. 3; and

[0037] Fig. 5 is a plan view of systems according to four embodiments of the invention.

[0038] The attached figures show an adapter device 10 for covering a gap 40 between a shaft 20 and a trench 30 in the vertical direction according to an embodiment of the invention. The adapter device 10 is shown both as such (Fig. 1) and as part of systems according to embodiments of the invention (Figs. 2 to 5).

[0039] Fig. 1 shows a bottom view of the adapter device 10. The adapter device has a top side 14 (not shown) and a bottom side 15, wherein in Fig.

[0040] 1 the top side 14 is shown.

[0041] The adapter device 10 has a cutout 11 for receiving the shaft 20. Specifically, the cutout 11 forms a hole whose geometry is designed to accommodate the shaft 20 (not shown), i.e., to arrange it therein.

[0042] The cutout 11 is adapted to the outer circumference of the shaft 20. Specifically, the cutout 11 has a shape that allows the shaft 20 to be arranged in the cutout 11 in such a way that a substantially uniform and minimal distance is established between the adapter device 10 and the shaft 20. The cutout 11 can also have a different shape, as long as such a small distance can be set between the adapter device 10 and the shaft 20 that the penetration of foreign bodies from above, for example from the overlying part of the floor 50 (not shown), into the intermediate space 40 (not shown) is substantially prevented.

[0043] The adapter device 10 has a support surface 12 arranged on a side opposite the cutout 11. The support surface 12 is designed to interact with the trench 30 (not shown) in a force-fitting manner in the vertical direction. The support surface 12 thus serves to support the adapter device 10 on the trench 30, in particular on the top side of the trench (see Fig.

[0044] 2 to 5), so that the adapter device 10 essentially prevents the penetration of foreign bodies from above, for example from the overlying part of the soil 50, into the intermediate space 40, wherein the force acting on the adapter device 10, for example the weight of the overlying part of the soil, is guided through the support surface 12 into the trench 30.

[0045] The adapter device 10 has two connecting means 13 for connection to at least one further adapter device 10, wherein the cutout 11 is arranged between the connecting means 13. Specifically, the adapter device has two ends 18 at which the connecting means 13 are formed, wherein the cutout 11 is arranged between the ends 18. The connecting means 13 thus encompass the cutout 11, so that a shaft 20 arranged in the cutout 11 is at least partially enclosed along its outer circumference by connecting the adapter device 10 to at least one further adapter device 10. The adapter device can also have more than two connecting means 13.

[0046] The connecting means 13 form two counterparts of a positive connection. Specifically, the connecting means 13 form two counterparts of a plug-in connection. The counterparts of the adapter device 10 have different geometries, which are adapted to interlock or fit together like a puzzle to create a positive connection. The connecting means 13 can also be designed differently.

[0047] The adapter device 10 is flat. Specifically, the adapter device 10 is plate-shaped. The adapter device 10 thus has a height that is many times smaller than the extension of the adapter device 10 transverse to the height direction. The adapter device 10 can also have other geometries, for example, a block-shaped geometry.

[0048] The cutout 11 is formed in the shape of a circular arc. Specifically, the cutout 11 is in the shape of a quarter circle. The cutout 11 can also be formed differently, for example, straight, angular, or wavy.

[0049] The support surface 12 encloses the cutout 11 on one side. The support surface 12 is essentially continuous. The support surface 12 can also enclose the cutout 11 in other ways, for example, in sections, on two sides, on multiple sides, or completely.

[0050] The support surface 12 forms a substantially right angle. Specifically, the support surface 12 comprises two elongated, cuboid-shaped surfaces arranged perpendicular to each other and connected at one longitudinal end. The other longitudinal end forms the two ends 18 of the adapter device 10. The support surface 12 can also form a different geometry, for example, an obtuse or acute angle or a circular arc.

[0051] The adapter device 10 has two fixing elements 16 formed on the underside 15 of the adapter device 10. The fixing elements 16 are adapted to interact with the drainage ditch 30 in a form-fitting manner in a horizontal direction. The adapter device can also have only one fixing element or more than two fixing elements.

[0052] The fixing elements 16 are adapted to interact positively with the trench 30 in two opposite directions, specifically perpendicular to each other. Other arrangements of the fixing elements 16 relative to each other are possible, as long as they can each interact positively with the trench 30 in the horizontal direction.

[0053] The fixing elements 16 are essentially identical in design. In other words, the fixing elements 16 have essentially the same geometry. They can also be designed differently.

[0054] To form a positive connection with the drainage ditch 30, the fixing elements 16 each have a positive-locking surface. Specifically, the fixing elements 16 each comprise a rib protruding from the underside 16 and having a side wall that has the positive-locking surface. The rib is essentially linear and arranged such that the side wall, and thus the positive-locking surface, is perpendicular to the underside 16.

[0055] The fixing elements 16 limit the support surface 12 in sections in the direction of the cutout 11.

[0056] The adapter device 10 has two reinforcing ribs 17 formed on the underside 15. The adapter device 10 can also have one reinforcing rib 17 or more than two reinforcing ribs 17.

[0057] A first reinforcing rib 17 connects the fixing elements 16 to one another, with a second reinforcing rib 17 extending between the fixing elements 16 in the direction of the cutout 11. The reinforcing ribs 17 are linear. Other arrangements and geometries of the reinforcing ribs 17 are possible.

[0058] The upper side 14 of the adapter device 10 is essentially flat. Specifically, the upper side 14 is essentially free of internal components, so that the top side 32 of the infiltration trench is essentially unaffected by the adapter device 10 in the assembled state.

[0059] The adapter device 10 is made of a plastic. Specifically, it is made of polyethylene. The adapter device 10 can also be made of other materials, such as metal.

[0060] The adapter device 10 is designed to be substantially mirror-symmetrical, wherein the reflection plane extends in the vertical direction of the adapter device 10 and in this way divides the adapter device 10 into two halves.

[0061] The geometry of the adapter device 10 corresponds essentially to a quarter of an annular plate with a circular inner contour and a square outer contour, wherein the connecting means 13 is formed at each end of the quarter ring.

[0062] Fig. 2 shows a plan view of a system according to an embodiment of the invention. The system comprises the trench 30, the shaft 20, and four adapter devices 10.

[0063] The four adapter devices 10 each essentially correspond to the adapter device 10 shown in Fig. 1. The system shown thus comprises four essentially identically designed adapter devices 10. The adapter devices 10 can also be designed differently, i.e., not identically. The system can also comprise fewer than four adapter devices 10, for example, one adapter device 10 or two adapter devices 10, or more than four adapter devices.

[0064] The shaft 20 is arranged in the cutout 11 of the adapter device 10 such that a minimal distance is formed between the adapter device 10 and the shaft 20. Specifically, the distance between the adapter device 10 and the shaft 20 is so small that the penetration of foreign bodies, for example from the overlying part of the floor 50, into the intermediate space 40 is essentially prevented.

[0065] Since the cutout 11 is adapted to the outer circumference of the shaft 20, the distance between the adapter device 10 and the shaft 20 is essentially uniform, i.e. essentially the same size.

[0066] The support surface 12 interacts with the trench 30 in a force-locking manner in the vertical direction. Specifically, the adapter device 10 rests with the support surface 12 (not shown) on the trench top 32 and thus prevents foreign bodies from penetrating from above, for example from the overlying part of the soil 50 (not shown), into the intermediate space 40 (not shown). The force acting on the adapter device 10 is thereby directed through the support surface 12 into the trench 30.

[0067] The adapter devices 10 are connected to one another in such a way that they completely enclose the shaft 20. The cutouts 11 of the adapter devices 10 together form a shape that is adapted to the outer circumference of the shaft 20. Specifically, the adapter devices 10 surround the shaft 20 along its outer circumference with their cutouts 11, with the distance between the adapter devices 10 and the shaft 20 being minimal. The adapter devices 10 can also enclose the shaft 20 only in sections, for example, along a quarter, half, or three-quarters of its outer circumference, as long as the penetration of foreign bodies from above, for example from the overlying part of the floor 50, into the intermediate space 40 is prevented.

[0068] Shaft 20 has a round cross-section. Other cross-sectional shapes, such as rectangular or oval, are possible.

[0069] The trench 30 comprises block-shaped trench elements 31, with a hole formed between the trench elements 31, in which the shaft 20 is arranged. Due to the block-shaped geometry of the trench elements 31, the hole has a substantially cuboid cross-section. Specifically, the cross-section of the hole in the trench 30 is substantially square.

[0070] The intermediate space 40 is formed between the essentially round shaft 20 and the block-shaped infiltration elements 31. The intermediate space 40 thus has an annular cross-sectional geometry with a substantially cuboidal, specifically square, outer contour and a substantially circular inner contour. The intermediate space 40 thus surrounds the shaft 20. The four interconnected adapter devices are arranged above the intermediate space 40, so that the intermediate space 40 is essentially completely covered.

[0071] The shaft 20 is made of concrete. The shaft 20 can also be made of another material, such as plastic or brick.

[0072] The drainage ditch 30 is made of plastic. The drainage ditch 30 can also be made of another material.

[0073] Fig. 3 shows a cross-section through the system according to Fig. 2 along a longitudinal axis of the shaft 20.

[0074] The trench 30 is located underground. The trench 30 separates an overlying portion of the soil 50 from a portion of the soil 50 below.

[0075] The infiltration trench 30 comprises two infiltration layers arranged one above the other, each formed by a plurality of adjacent infiltration elements 31. The infiltration layers thus each have a height that essentially corresponds to the height of the infiltration elements 31. The width and / or length of the infiltration layers, however, is many times greater than the width and / or length of the infiltration elements. A first lower infiltration layer is arranged on the infiltration bottom. A second upper infiltration layer is arranged on the first lower layer. The hole in which the shaft 20 is arranged is formed between a plurality of infiltration elements 31, specifically six. The hole extends from the infiltration bottom 33 through both infiltration layers to the infiltration top 32.

[0076] The shaft 20 is arranged vertically. A different orientation of the shaft 20, for example, inclined, is possible as long as the shaft has a horizontal outer circumference.

[0077] The shaft 20 is arranged on the underlying soil at the level of the trench bottom 33 and extends from the trench bottom 33 through the trench 30 and the soil 50 above it to the surface 51. The shaft 20 thus has a height that is greater than the height of the trench 30.

[0078] The hole in the trench 30, together with the shaft 20 arranged therein, forms the intermediate space 40 between the shaft 20 and the trench 30. It is clear that the adapter device 10, which is arranged on the trench top 32 and encloses the shaft 20 in the circumferential direction, essentially completely covers the intermediate space 40 in the vertical direction, so that penetration of foreign bodies from above, for example from the overlying part of the soil 50, into the intermediate space 40 is essentially prevented.

[0079] The flat, specifically plate-shaped, geometry of the adapter device 10 is clearly visible. Due to the flat upper surface 14 of the adapter device 10, the top surface 32 of the infiltration trench is essentially unaffected by the adapter device 10. As a result, the top surface 32 of the infiltration trench is essentially free of internals, so that a covering layer 34 arranged on the top surface 32 of the infiltration trench has a substantially planar geometry.

[0080] Fig. 4 shows a detailed view of the cross section from Fig. 3.

[0081] It is clearly visible that the cutout 11 of the adapter device 10 is adapted to the outer circumference of the shaft 20, with the distance between the adapter device 10 and the shaft 20 being minimal. Specifically, the distance is chosen to be so small that the penetration of foreign bodies from above, for example from the overlying part of the soil, into the intermediate space 40 is essentially prevented. The support surface 12 of the adapter device 10, which interacts in a force-fitting manner in the vertical direction with the infiltration trench 30, specifically with an infiltration trench element 31, is clearly visible.

[0082] In addition, a fixing element 16 appears, which is formed on the underside 15 of the adapter device 10 and interacts in a form-fitting manner in a horizontal direction with the trench 30, specifically with a trench element 31.

[0083] The adapter device 10 has an outer contour whose upper edge 19 is rounded, so that the impairment of the infiltration trench top 32 by the adapter device 10 is further reduced.

[0084] Fig. 5 shows a top view of systems according to four exemplary embodiments of the invention. Specifically, four systems S1, S2, S3, and S4 are shown, with system S1 essentially corresponding to the system in Fig. 2.

[0085] In contrast to system S1, in systems S2, S3, and S4, the trench 30 does not completely enclose the shaft 20 in the circumferential direction, but only in sections. Thus, the shaft 20 is exposed along part of its outer circumference. The gap 40 between the shaft 20 and the trench 30 thus has a cross-sectional geometry that, unlike system S1, does not form a complete ring, but only a part of one.

[0086] In system S2, the infiltration trench 30 encloses the shaft 20 along three-quarters of its outer circumference. The shaft 20 is thus exposed along a quarter of its outer circumference. Unlike system S1, system S2 comprises only three adapter devices 10, which are connected to form a three-quarter ring and arranged on the infiltration trench 20 in such a way that they essentially completely cover the gap 40.

[0087] The S3 system is characterized in that the infiltration trench 30 encloses the shaft 20 along half of its outer circumference, such that the shaft 20 is exposed along the other half of its outer circumference. In contrast to the S1 system, the S3 system comprises only two adapter devices 10, which are connected to one another to form a half ring and are arranged on the infiltration trench 20 in such a way that they essentially completely cover the intermediate space 40. The infiltration trench 30 of the S4 system encloses the shaft 20 along a quarter of its outer circumference, with the shaft 20 being exposed along three-quarters of its outer circumference. In contrast to the S1 system, the S4 system comprises only one adapter device 10, which is arranged on the infiltration trench 20 in such a way that it essentially completely covers the intermediate space 40.

[0088] The systems SI, S2, S3, S4 shown illustrate that the adapter devices 10 can enclose the shaft both completely (see system S1) and only in sections, for example along a quarter (see system S4), half (see system S3) or three-quarters (see system S2) of its outer circumference.
