[0035] Hereinafter, various embodiments of this document are described with reference to the attached drawings.
[0036] One embodiment of the present invention described below provides a hinge structure and a foldable electronic device including the same that can reduce, prevent, or minimize the deterioration of the quality of a display crease (i.e., reduce the presence of a crease) by continuously forming a plurality of center bar structures.
[0037] In addition, one embodiment of the present invention provides a hinge structure and a foldable electronic device including the same that can realize flex force (i.e., the force required to switch a foldable electronic device between a folded state / partially folded state) and component efficiency by reducing the size and weight of the hinge structure. In addition, the rigidity of the foldable / hinge mechanism can be maintained, or the reduction in the rigidity of the foldable / hinge mechanism can be reduced while reducing the weight and the presence of noticeable creases.
[0038] Other intended purposes according to various embodiments of the present invention will be mentioned as needed in the process of describing each embodiment.
[0039] In addition, various purposes and effects provided by hinge structures and electronic devices including the same according to various embodiments may be mentioned according to embodiments of the detailed description.
[0040] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an electronic device according to one embodiment, and FIG. 2 is a plan view of an electronic device according to one embodiment with a display omitted.
[0041] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, an electronic device (100) (or a foldable electronic device, a portable electronic device, a portable communication device, a foldable electronic device, a portable device) according to one embodiment may include a first housing (110), a second housing (120), a hinge housing (150), a center bar (171, 172, 173) (or a center plate), wing plates (131, 132) (or hinge plates), a display (160), and at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state, the folding area (or folding area) of the display (160) can be formed into a water drop shape (or dumbbell shape, teardrop shape) due to gravity, thereby securing a folding R (curvature) that prevents cracks or buckling from occurring in the folding area of the display (160). In addition, by arranging the dumbbell-shaped display folding area within a certain space of the housings (110, 120), the gap between the housings (110, 120) that are arranged to face each other and have an 11-shape (i.e., substantially parallel to each other) can be reduced when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state. Through this, the electronic device (100) can reduce the overall size of the electronic device (100) by reducing the gap between the housings (110, 120) in the folded state, and can block or reduce the inflow of foreign substances between the housings (110, 120).
[0042] The first housing (110) may be connected to the second housing (120) using at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c). The first housing (110) may include a bottom area on which the display (160) is mounted, and a side wall or a separately provided frame surrounding the frame of the display (160) or the edge of the area on which the display (160) is mounted. Additionally, a rear cover may be disposed on the back of the first housing (110). Here, the rear cover may be omitted.
[0043] At least a portion of the first housing (110) may be adhered to at least a portion of the first area (161) of the display (160). Alternatively, at least a portion of an edge of the front surface (the surface facing the z-axis direction) of the first housing (110) may be adhered to at least a portion of an edge of the first area (161) of the display (160). In this regard, an adhesive layer may be disposed between the front surface of the first housing (110) and the first area (161) of the display (160).
[0044] The first housing (110) may have at least a portion of its inner surface formed in a hollow shape. At least one circuit board, at least one battery, and at least one camera module may be disposed inside the first housing (110). The circuit board and battery disposed inside the first housing (110) may be electrically connected to electronic elements (e.g., at least one circuit board and at least one battery) disposed inside the second housing (120) via a flexible substrate (not shown). For example, the flexible substrate (not shown) may extend from a portion of the first housing (110) across the hinge housing (150) to a portion of the second housing (120). A portion of the flexible substrate (not shown) may be located inside the hinge housing (150). For example, a processor and a memory may be disposed on the circuit board disposed in the first housing (110).
[0045] The first housing (110) may be formed of at least a portion of a metal material, or may be formed of at least a portion of a non-metal material. The first housing (110) may be formed of a material having a certain amount of rigidity so as to support at least a portion of the display (160). In one embodiment, when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state, a portion of the first housing (110) that faces the second housing (120) (or a portion adjacent to the second housing (120)) may include a recessed portion in which at least a portion is recessed so that a hinge housing (150) can be placed.
[0046] The first housing (110) is connected to at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c) and can rotate counterclockwise (e.g., the direction when the electronic device (100) is folded) or clockwise (e.g., the direction when the electronic device (100) is unfolded) from any non-zero point between the -x and x-axis to any point between the z-axis and the -z-axis by an external pressure applied from the outside (e.g., a force applied by a user holding the first housing (110). When the electronic device (100) is folded, the first housing (110) can be arranged parallel to the z-axis or can be arranged parallel to the second housing (120). While the first housing (110) is arranged parallel to the second housing (120), at least some of the three borders (or edges) of the first housing (110) (e.g., the borders excluding the borders adjacent to the second housing (120) when the electronic device is in an unfolded state) may be arranged to contact the three borders of the second housing (120) (e.g., the borders excluding the borders adjacent to the first housing (110) when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state).
[0047] The second housing (120) may be connected to the first housing (110) via at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c). The second housing (120) may include a front surface (or bottom surface) on which at least a portion of the display (160) (e.g., at least a portion of the second region (162)) is mounted, side walls or a separately provided frame surrounding the front surface or the border of at least a portion of the second region (162) of the display (160). At least a portion of the second housing (120) may be adhered to at least a portion of the second region (162) of the display (160). Alternatively, at least a portion of the front edge of the second housing (120) may be adhered to the edge of the second region (162) of the display (160). In this regard, an adhesive layer may be disposed between the front surface of the second housing (120) and the second region (162) of the display (160).
[0048] The second housing (120) may have a hollow formed in at least a portion of the inside, similar to the first housing (110). At least one circuit board and at least one battery may be disposed inside the second housing (120). Alternatively, the at least one battery may be disposed in either the first housing (110) or the second housing (120), or in both. At least one of the printed circuit board or the battery disposed inside the second housing (120) may be electrically connected to a component (e.g., at least one of the printed circuit board or the battery) disposed inside the first housing (110) via a flexible substrate.
[0049] The second housing (120) may be formed of at least a portion of a metal material, similar to the first housing (110), or may be formed of at least a non-metal material. The second housing (120) may be formed of a material having a certain amount of rigidity so as to support at least a portion of the display (160). In one embodiment, when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state, a portion of the second housing (120) that faces the first housing (110) (or a portion adjacent to the first housing (110)) may include a recessed portion in which at least a portion is recessed so that a hinge housing (150) can be placed. The recessed portion of the second housing (120) may be placed adjacent to the recessed portion of the first housing (110). A rear cover may be placed on the rear of the second housing (120). Here, the rear cover may be omitted.
[0050] At least a portion of the hinge housing (150) may be disposed in recessed portions formed at portions where the first housing (110) and the second housing (120) face each other or are adjacent to each other when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state. The hinge housing (150) may be provided in a form that extends longer in the y-axis direction than in the x-axis direction as a whole. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the x-axis direction may be longer than the y-axis direction depending on the type of the electronic device (100). A structure (e.g., a boss, a hook) for fixing at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b) may be disposed in a portion of the inner surface of the hinge housing (150).
[0051] At least a portion of the display (160) may have flexibility. For example, the display (160) may include a first region (161) at least a portion of which is disposed on the first housing (110), a second region (162) at least a portion of which is disposed on the second housing (120), and a third region (163) (or folding region, or folding region) positioned between the first region (161) and the second region (162).
[0052] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded or unfolded state, at least a portion of the first region (161) and the second region (162) may be arranged in a flat state, and at least a portion of the third region (163) may have a curved state when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state. For example, the first region (161) and the second region (162) may maintain a flat state regardless of the state of the electronic device (100) (the arrangement position of the flat surface may be changed), and the third region (163) may be transformed into a curved state or a flat state in response to the state of the electronic device (100). For example, the third region (163) may have a flat state (or a flat state) when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state, and at least a portion of the third region (163) may have a curved state (or a curved state) when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state.
[0053] The display (160) may include various layers. For example, the display (160) may include an outer protective layer (or glass layer, or polymer layer) having a certain amount of transparency and a specified size, a display panel layer (or panel layer, panel, display panel) disposed under the outer protective layer to display a screen, and at least one first back layer (or back panel, back portion) disposed under the display panel layer. The first back layer may include at least one layer of a shock absorption layer (or embossing) and a heat dissipation layer (or metal sheet layer). Additionally or alternatively, the first back layer may further include an electromagnetic induction panel (e.g., a digitizer). The display (160) may further include a second back layer disposed under the first back layer. The second back layer (or back panel, back portion) may include at least one metal layer (or metal sheet) at least partially formed of a metal material. At least a portion of the second backing layer may include a designated pattern (e.g., a lattice pattern, a slit pattern) so as to be bendable. Alternatively, at least a portion of the second backing layer may be formed of another bendable material (e.g., a polymer material, a plastic material, a rubber material, a leather material). At least one of the first backing layer and the second backing layer may be omitted.
[0054] At least a portion of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c) may be positioned and / or seated in the hinge housing (150), and at least a portion (e.g., 200a, 200b) of the plurality of hinge structures (200a, 200b, 200c) may have a similar structure and shape to each other. In FIG. 1, a structure in which two hinge structures (200a, 200b) of a similar shape and a hinge structure (200c) of a different shape are arranged in a hinge housing (150) is described as an example, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and three or more hinge structures (200a, 200b) having a similarly shaped interlocking structure (or a structure in which at least a portion is connected to each other and the connected portions can move together) may be arranged, or two or more hinge structures (200c) having a different shape of non-interlocking structure may be mounted in the hinge housing (150). Among the at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c), a hinge structure (200a, 200b) having a similar type of linkage structure performs a hinge operation based on M (wherein M is a natural number greater than or equal to 2) axes (e.g., 8 virtual axes, or 6 virtual axes and 2 real axes), and a hinge structure (200c) having another type can perform a hinge operation based on N (wherein N is a natural number less than M) axes (e.g., 6 virtual axes, or 4 virtual axes and 2 real axes). A virtual axis may mean an axis along which a component moves / rotates, but has no physical axis. Accordingly, at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c) supports a third area (163) of the display (160) to form a dumbbell shape.
[0055] The center bars (171, 172, 173) may be arranged between the display (160) and the hinge structures (200a, 200b, 200c). As an example, among the center bars (171, 172, 173), the first center bar (171) (or the first center plate) may be arranged to cover at least a portion of the center area of the first hinge structure (200a) (or the first side hinge structure). Alternatively, the first center bar (171) may be arranged to cover at least a portion of the first hinge structure (200a). As an example, the second center bar (172) (or the second center plate) may be arranged to cover at least a portion of the center area of the second hinge structure (200b) (or the second side hinge structure). Alternatively, the second center bar (172) may be positioned to cover at least a portion of the second hinge structure (200b). As an example, the third center bar (173) (or the third center plate) may be positioned to cover at least a portion of the central area of the third hinge structure (200c) (or the center hinge structure). The third center bar (173) may be positioned to cover at least a portion of the third hinge structure (200c).
[0056] Center bars (171, 172, 173) can be fixed to hinge structures (200a, 200b, 200c). Center bar bridges (181, 182) can be arranged between the center bars (171, 172, 173). Among the center bar bridges (181, 182), the first center bar bridge (181) can be arranged between the first center bar (171) and the third center bar (173), and the second center bar bridge (182) can be arranged between the second center bar (172) and the third center bar (173). One end (e.g., the end facing the -y-axis) of the first center bar (171) can be fastened and fixed to the other end (e.g., the end facing the y-axis) of the first center bar bridge (181). The other end of the second center bar (172) can be fastened and fixed to one end of the second center bar bridge (182). The other end of the third center bar (173) can be fastened and fixed to one end of the first center bar bridge (181), and one end of the third center bar (173) can be fastened and fixed to the other end of the second center bar bridge (182).
[0057] The wing plates (131, 132) are arranged to cover at least a portion of a surface in the z-axis direction of the at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c) when the electronic device (100) is in an unfolded state by being combined with at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c). The wing plates (131, 132) are provided in a form separate from the housings (110, 120). Accordingly, a gap can be formed between the wing plates (131, 132) and the housings (110, 120). The wing plates (131, 132) can be arranged on both sides with the center bar (171, 172, 173) therebetween. For example, the first wing plate (131) may be positioned in the x-axis direction with respect to the center bar (171, 172, 173), and the second wing plate (132) may be positioned in the -x-axis direction with respect to the center bar (171, 172, 173). When the wing plates (131, 132) are coupled to the hinge structures (200a, 200b, 200c), they may be positioned at the same height as the center bars (171, 172, 173) or on the same xy plane with respect to the z-axis. The wing plates (131, 132) may rotate clockwise or counterclockwise depending on the hinge operation of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b, 200c). For example, while the first wing plate (131) rotates counterclockwise, the second wing plate (132) can rotate clockwise, and while the first wing plate (131) rotates clockwise, the second wing plate (132) can rotate counterclockwise. The first wing plate (131) can support a flat first side of the third region (163) of the display (160) that folds into a dumbbell shape (or a water drop shape with gravity applied), and the second wing plate (132) can support a flat second side (a side symmetrical with respect to the first side with respect to the z-axis) of the third region (163) of the display (160) that folds into a dumbbell shape.
[0058] FIGS. 3A and 3B are diagrams illustrating an example of a display structure of an electronic device according to an embodiment. FIG. 3A is a diagram illustrating an unfolded state of the display of the electronic device, and FIG. 3B is a diagram illustrating a folded state of the display of the electronic device. The lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c) illustrated in FIG. 3A are diagrams illustrated for convenience of explanation, and when a display is placed over the lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c), the corresponding lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c) may not be observed from the front. In addition, in FIG. 3b, for convenience of explanation, regions (161, 162, 163) of the display (160) are indicated, and the structure expressed as a multi-layer in FIG. 3b may mean a panel layer (e.g., a layer located on the inner side of FIG. 3b) and a support layer or support substrate (e.g., a layer located on the outer side of FIG. 3b) on which lattice regions (163a, 163b, 163c) are formed while supporting the panel layer.
[0059] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3B, the display (160) of the electronic device (100) may include a first region (161) (or a first part, a first position), a second region (162) (or a second part, a second position), and a third region (163) (or a third part, a third position, a folding region). The first to third regions (161, 162, 163) may be connected to each other. The third region (163) is disposed between the first region (161) and the second region (162). Accordingly, one side of the third region (163) (e.g., a right edge based on the illustrated drawing) is connected to the left edge of the first region (161), and the other side of the third region (163) (e.g., a left edge based on the illustrated drawing) is connected to the right edge of the second region (162). Based on the horizontal direction of the illustrated drawing, the widths of the first region (161) and the second region (162) may be formed to be the same or similar. The third region (163) may have the same or similar width as the first region (161) or the second region (162), or may have a shorter width. Based on the vertical direction of the illustrated drawing, the first region (161), the second region (162), and the third region (163) may have the same length.
[0060] The third region (163) may be a region that folds when the electronic device (100) is in a folded state. The entirety or a portion of the panel protection layer (or at least one back layer disposed under the panel protection layer) disposed under the third region (163) may include a lattice pattern. Referring to the illustrated drawing, the third region (163) may form a water drop shape (or dumbbell shape) that falls by gravity from the upper side to the lower side based on the illustrated drawing. In this regard, the third region (163) may include a convex region (163c) that is convex in the downward direction, flat regions (163f1, 163f2) extending from both sides of the convex region (163c) to the boundary (or edge) of the first region (161) and the second region (162), and curved regions (163a, 163b) formed between the flat regions (163f1, 163f2) and the first region (161) and the second region (162) (regions having a curvature formed inversely when viewed in the curved direction of the convex region (163c)). The curved regions (163a, 163b) may have a curvature in a different direction from the convex direction of the convex region (163c). The length (UBL) of the folded portion (or third region (163) or folding region) of the display (160) includes the length from the curved regions (163a, 163b) to the end point of the convex region (163c) (the lowest point of the convex region (163c)), and the length (UBL) of this folded portion may be influenced by the position and thickness of the center bars (171, 172, 173) described in FIG. 1, the position and width and thickness of the wing plates (131, 132), and the size of the sunken portion of the first housing (110) and the second housing (120).
[0061] The bending direction of the lattice pattern corresponding to the convex region (163c) and the bending direction of the lattice pattern corresponding to the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be different. For example, the convex region (163c) may be bent convexly toward the rear from the direction in which the screen of the display (160) is displayed, and the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be bent convexly from the rear of the display (160) toward the direction in which the screen is displayed. The lattice pattern may be omitted from the panel protective layer corresponding to the flat regions (163f1, 163f2). The lattice pattern formed in the curved regions (163a, 163b) and the lattice pattern formed in the convex region (163c) may have the same or similar shape. For example, the lattice pattern formed in the curved regions (163a, 163b) may include at least one of a half-etching type (e.g., a type in which a groove of a certain pattern is formed on the surface of the metal layer) or an etching hole type (e.g., a type in which a plurality of holes or empty spaces penetrating the front and rear surfaces of the metal layer are arranged in a certain pattern). Alternatively, some of the lattice patterns of the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be formed as a half-etching type, and other parts may be formed as an etching hole type. According to one embodiment, the etching shape may be omitted. Since the lattice pattern of the convex region (163c) is formed with a relatively high curvature compared to the curved regions (163a, 163b), a lattice pattern different from that of the curved regions (163a, 163b) may be formed so as to take on a more flexible shape. For example, at least one of the etching size and etching depth of the lattice pattern of the convex region (163c) may be larger than those of the curved regions (163a, 163b), and the spacing between patterns (e.g., grooves or holes) may be smaller than those of the curved regions (163a, 163b).
[0062] FIG. 4 is a drawing showing an example of a hinge structure according to one embodiment, FIG. 5 is a front view of an exploded perspective view of a hinge structure according to one embodiment, and FIG. 6 is a rear view of an exploded perspective view of a hinge structure according to one embodiment. In FIGS. 4 to 6, the first hinge structure (200a) among the hinge structures (200a, 200b, 200c) described above in FIGS. 1 and 2 will be described as an example. The configuration of the first hinge structure (200a) may have the same structure and configuration as the second hinge structure (200b).
[0063] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6, the first hinge structure (200a) includes a fixed bracket (230) (or a center bracket), a first rotation member (210) (or a first rotation structure, a first rotation body), a second rotation member (220) (or a second rotation structure, a second rotation body), a first link member (310) (or a first slide link, a first rotation support structure, a first arm link member), a second link member (320) (or a second slide link, a second rotation support structure, a first rotation link member), a third link member (330) (or a third slide link, a third rotation support structure, a second arm link member), a fourth link member (340) (or a fourth slide link, a fourth rotation support structure, a second rotation link member), a first arm member (410) (or a first arm structure, a first arm), a second arm member (420) (or a second arm structure, a second arm), a first link member (350), It may include a first center bar (171).
[0064] At least one of the components included in the first hinge structure (200a) described above may be omitted. For example, the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) may be directly coupled to the housings (110, 120), and the arm members (410, 420) may be coupled to the rotation members (210, 220) and rotate in response to the rotation of the rotation members (210, 220).
[0065] The fixed bracket (230) may include a bracket body (233), a first rail (231) (or a first fixed rail), and a second rail (232) (or a second fixed rail). Grooves may be formed on one side of the bracket body (233) (e.g., a side wall facing the -y-axis direction) to allow one edge (e.g., a +y-axis edge) of the first shaft (241) and the second shaft (242) to be mounted thereon.
[0066] The fixed bracket (230) may be at least partially secured and fixed to one side of the hinge housing (150). For example, the fixed bracket (230) may be fixed to the -y-axis edge or the y-axis edge of the hinge housing (150). The fixed bracket (230) may include a structure (e.g., the first rail (231) and the second rail (232)) to which a part of the first rotation member (210) (e.g., the first rail structure (211)) and a part of the second rotation member (220) (e.g., the third rail structure (221)) may be rotatably fastened.
[0067] The first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230) forms a virtual axis (e.g., the first axis (e.g., the first axis (811) of FIG. 8 or the first virtual axis or the first fixed axis)) that can rotate in place while the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) rotates. The first rail (231) can be formed in a structure corresponding to the first rail structure (211). For example, the first rail (231) can include two arc-shaped or crescent-shaped rails. A part of the other side of the first rotation member (210) (e.g., the second rail structure (212)) can perform a rotational movement or a curved sliding movement based on a second axis (e.g., the second axis (812) of FIG. 8 or the second virtual axis or the first moving axis) different from the first axis. The second rail (232) is formed so that the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate. A virtual axis (e.g., the fifth axis (815) of FIG. 8, the third virtual axis, or the second fixed axis) that can rotate in place while rotating is formed. A part of the other side of the second rotating member (220) (e.g., the fourth rotating rail structure (222)) can perform a rotational movement or a curved sliding movement based on a sixth axis (e.g., the sixth axis (816) of FIG. 8, the fourth virtual axis, or the second moving axis) that is different from the fifth axis.
[0068] The fixed bracket (230) may be formed of a material having a certain rigidity (e.g., a metal material or a reinforced plastic having a certain rigidity) so as to support the movement of the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) during the hinge operation process (an operation in which the angle between the first housing (110) and the second housing (120) changes from 0 degrees to 180 degrees or is mounted at a specific angle between 0 degrees and 180 degrees). In the above description, the fixed bracket (230) is exemplified as a structure fixed to the hinge housing (150), but one shape of the hinge housing (150) may also be provided in the shape of the fixed bracket (230).
[0069] The first rotation member (210) may include a first sub-rotation member (2101) and a second sub-rotation member (2102) facing the first sub-rotation member (2101) in the y-axis direction. At least a portion of the first sub-rotation member (2101) may be formed symmetrically with at least a portion of the second sub-rotation member (2102). The first sub-rotation member (2101) and the second sub-rotation member (2102) may be coupled with the first rotation elastic member (581) and the second rotation elastic member (582) interposed therebetween. The first rotation elastic member (581) may be coupled with the first rail structure (211) of the first sub-rotation member (2101) and the first rail structure (211) of the second sub-rotation member (2102) interposed therebetween. The second rotational elastic member (582) can be coupled with the second rail structure (212) of the first sub-rotational member (2101) and the second rail structure (212) of the second sub-rotational member (2102) interposed therebetween. In the process of coupling the first sub-rotational member (2101) and the second sub-rotational member (2102), the first rotational elastic member (581) and the second rotational elastic member (582) can be elastically deformed.
[0070] At least one of the first sub-rotating member (2101) and the second sub-rotating member (2102) may include a first rotating body (213), a first rail structure (211) (or the first rotating rail structure) arranged in the -x-axis direction of the first rotating body (213), and a second rail structure (212) (or the second rotating rail structure) arranged in the x-axis direction of the first rotating body (213). Alternatively, the first rotating member (210) may include a portion (e.g., the first rail structure (211)) that is connected to one side of the fixed bracket (230) (e.g., the first rail (231)) and then is connected to enable a hinge movement, and a portion (e.g., the second rail structure (212)) that is connected to one side of the second link member (320) (e.g., the fourth rail (321)).
[0071] The first rail structure (211) of the first rotational member (210) coupled to the fixed bracket (230) can rotate in place (e.g., rotate counterclockwise or clockwise) while the second link member (320) coupled to the first housing (110) performs a hinge operation (or rotates counterclockwise or clockwise). The second rail structure (212) coupled to the second link member (320) can rotate (or slide) within the second link member (320) (e.g., the fourth rail (321)) while moving in one direction (e.g., counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) is folded from an unfolded state or clockwise while the electronic device (100) is unfolded from a folded state).
[0072] The first rotating body (213) may include a structure (e.g., at least one hole penetrating in the upper and lower (z-axis direction and -z-axis direction)) that can be coupled with the first wing plate (131). The first rotating member (210) may generate friction with the fixed bracket (230) and the second link member (320) while the hinge movement is repeated, and may be formed of a material (e.g., a metal material) having a certain strength or higher that can withstand this. A part of the first wing plate (131) among the wing plates (131, 132) may be fixed to the first rotating member (210).
[0073] The second rotation member (220) may include a third sub-rotation member (2201) and a fourth sub-rotation member (2202) facing the third sub-rotation member (2201) in the y-axis direction. The third sub-rotation member (2201) and the fourth sub-rotation member (2202) may be coupled with a third rotation elastic member (583) and a fourth rotation elastic member (584) interposed therebetween. The third rotation elastic member (583) may be coupled with a third rail structure (221) (or, a third rotation rail structure) of the third sub-rotation member (2201) and a third rail structure (221) of the fourth sub-rotation member (2202) interposed therebetween. The fourth rotation elastic member (584) can be coupled with the fourth rail structure (222) (or the fourth rotation rail structure) of the third sub-rotation member (2201) and the fourth rail structure (222) of the fourth sub-rotation member (2202) interposed therebetween. In the process of coupling the third sub-rotation member (2201) and the fourth sub-rotation member (2202), the third rotation elastic member (583) and the fourth rotation elastic member (584) can be elastically deformed.
[0074] The second rotation member (220) may include a second rotation body (223), a third rail structure (221) arranged in the x-axis direction of the second rotation body (223), and a fourth rail structure (222) arranged in the -x-axis direction of the second rotation body (223). Alternatively, the second rotation member (220) includes a portion (e.g., the third rail structure (221)) that is coupled to the other side of the fixed bracket (230) (e.g., the second rail (232)) so as to enable hinge movement, and a portion (e.g., the fourth rotation rail structure (222)) that is coupled to one side (e.g., the sixth rail (341)) of the fourth link member (340). The second rotation member (220) rotates in place while the fourth link member (340) coupled to the second housing (120) performs a hinge operation (clockwise or counterclockwise rotation operation) and the third rail structure (221) coupled to the fixed bracket (230) rotates in place, and the fourth rotation rail structure (222) coupled to the fourth link member (340) rotates (or slides) within the fourth link member (340) (e.g., the sixth rail (341)) while moving in one direction (e.g., counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) is folded from an unfolded state or clockwise while the electronic device (100) is unfolded from a folded state).
[0075] The second rotating body (223) may include a structure (e.g., at least one hole extending vertically) that can be coupled with the second wing plate (132). Similar to the first rotating member (210), the second rotating member (220) may generate friction with the fixed bracket (230) and the fourth link member (340) while the hinge motion is repeated, and may be formed of a material (e.g., a metal material) having a certain strength or higher that can withstand this. For example, the second rotating member (220) may be formed of the same material as the first rotating member (210). A portion of the second wing plate (132) among the wing plates (131, 132) may be fixed to the second rotating member (220).
[0076] The second rotation member (220) can move in the opposite direction to the first rotation member (210). For example, while the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) rotates in place in a counterclockwise direction, the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate in place in a clockwise direction.
[0077] As the second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) rotates counterclockwise, the second rail structure (212) can slide counterclockwise (since the sliding motion is relative, the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320) slides clockwise with respect to the second rail structure (212)) within the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320) (or, the second link rail, the first rotation rail). While the second rail structure (212) rotates and slides, the fourth rotation rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate counterclockwise and slide counterclockwise within the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340) (since the sliding motion is relative, the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340) slides clockwise with respect to the fourth rotation rail structure (222).
[0078] The first axis corresponding to the reference around which the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) rotates and the fifth axis corresponding to the reference around which the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) rotates may be fixed axes around which each of the rail structures (the first rail structure (211) and the third rail structure (221)) rotates in place. The first axis (or the first axis (811) of FIG. 8) may be a virtual axis formed while the first rail structure (211) rotates along the first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230). The fifth axis (or the fifth axis (815) of FIG. 8) may be a virtual axis formed while the third rail structure (221) rotates along the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230).
[0079] The second axis corresponding to the reference around which the second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) rotates and the sixth axis corresponding to the reference around which the fourth rotation rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) rotates may be movement axes formed as each of the rail structures (the second rail structure (212) and the fourth rotation rail structure (222)) moves. The second axis (or the second axis (812) of FIG. 8) may be a virtual axis formed as the second rail structure (212) slides or rotates within the fourth rail (321) during the movement of the second link member (320). The sixth axis (or the sixth axis (816) of FIG. 8) may be a virtual axis formed as the fourth rotation rail structure (222) slides or rotates within the sixth rail (341) during the movement of the fourth link member (340).
[0080] The first link member (310) can fix the first arm member (410) to the first housing (110) and support the rotational motion (or sliding motion) of the first arm member (410). The first link member (310) includes a structure in which a portion of the first arm member (410) is seated. The first link member (310) can include a first link body (312), an eleventh link side wall (313) and a twelfth link side wall (314) extending in the z-axis direction from both sides (e.g., y-axis and -y-axis edges) of the first link body (312). An empty space is formed between the 11th link side wall (313) and the 12th link side wall (314), and a third rail (311) (or, first arm rail, first link rail) protruding into the empty space between the 11th link side wall (313) and the 12th link side wall (314) may be formed on each of the 11th link side wall (313) and the 12th link side wall (314). The third rail (311) may be respectively fastened to the fifth rail structure (411) (or, first arm rail structure) of the first arm member (410). The fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410) may be seated in the empty space to guide the rotational or sliding motion of the fifth rail structure (411).
[0081] The first link member (310) may include at least one first link connecting portion (315) having a structure (e.g., at least one hole or groove) formed therein, which is used to secure the first link member (310) to the first housing (110). The first torque bracket (260) may be arranged between the first washer rings (251) and between the second washer rings (252).
[0103] The other surface (e.g., the surface facing the y-axis) of each of the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) arranged between the first torque brackets (260) can be brought into close contact with one surface (e.g., the surface facing the -y-axis) of the first torque bracket (260) by pressing the surface of the first torque bracket (260) by the elastic force of the elastic member (281, 282). The other surface (e.g., the surface facing the y-axis) of the first torque bracket (260) disposed between the first washers (251) and the second washers (252) can be brought into close contact with one surface (e.g., the surface facing the -y-axis) of each of the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) by pressing the surface (e.g., the surface facing the -y-axis) of each of the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) by the elastic force of the elastic member (281, 282). The other surface (e.g., the surface facing the y-axis) of each of the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) facing the first shaft bracket (270) can be brought into close contact with one surface (e.g., the surface facing the -y-axis) of the first torque bracket (260) by pressing one surface (e.g., the surface facing the -y-axis) of the first torque bracket (260) disposed between the first washers (251) and between the second washers (252) by the elastic force of the elastic member (281, 282).
[0104] The frictional force due to contact (or surface pressure) between the other surfaces of the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) arranged between the first torque brackets (260) and one surface of the first torque bracket (260) facing the first stopper (243) and the second stopper (244) can increase the torque of the first hinge structure (200a). The frictional force due to contact (or surface pressure) between the other surfaces of the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) arranged between the first torque brackets (260) and the other surfaces of the first torque brackets (260) arranged between the first washer rings (251) and the second washer rings (252) can increase the torque of the first hinge structure (200a). The frictional force due to contact (or surface pressure) between the other surfaces of the first washer ring (251) and the second washer ring (252) facing the first shaft bracket (270) and one surface of the first torque bracket (260) arranged between the first washer rings (251) and between the second washer rings (252) can increase the torque of the first hinge structure (200a). The torque can act as a detent to allow the first hinge structure (200a) to be mounted at various angles.
[0105] The first shaft bracket (270) may include a fixing structure (273) (e.g., a through hole in the z-axis direction) that can fix the first hinge structure (200a) to the hinge housing (150). In addition, the first shaft bracket (270) may include shaft mounting holes (271, 272) into which the first shaft (241) and the second shaft (242) arranged in the y-axis direction can be inserted. The first shaft bracket (270) may include a cam structure (274, 275) that engages with the cam member. The first cam structure (274) and the second cam structure (275) of the first shaft bracket (270) may be arranged on the side wall of the first shaft bracket (270) in the -y-axis direction.
[0106] The cam member (361, 362) may include a first cam (361) that engages with a first cam structure (274) of a first shaft bracket (270), and a second cam (362) that engages with a second cam structure (275) of the first shaft bracket (270). A through hole through which a first shaft (241) may pass may be formed at the center of each of the first center bar bracket (191) and the third center bar bracket (193). A through hole through which a second shaft (242) may pass may be formed at the center of each of the second center bar bracket (192) and the fourth center bar bracket (194).
[0110] The first center bar bracket (191) may have a plurality of first protrusion regions (195) protruding in the -y-axis direction. The plurality of first protrusion regions (195) may be spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance. The plurality of second protrusion regions (196) may be used as guide members when assembling the first center bar (171) and the first hinge structure (200a). The third center bar bracket (193) may have a third protrusion region (197) protruding in the -y-axis direction. A plurality of third protrusion regions (197) may be spaced apart by a predetermined distance. The fourth center bar bracket (194) may have a plurality of fourth protrusion regions (198) that protrude in the -y-axis direction. The plurality of fourth protrusion regions (198) may be spaced apart by a predetermined distance. The plurality of fourth protrusion regions (198) may be used as guide members when assembling the first center bar (171) and the first hinge structure (200a).
[0111] The first center bar (171) may include a plurality of guide structures (177, 178) that protrude in the -z-axis direction from the first center bar body (174) toward the first hinge structure (200a). The plurality of guide structures (177, 178) may include a first guide structure (177) that protrudes between the first center bar bracket (191) and the second center bar bracket (192), and a second guide structure (178) that protrudes between the third center bar bracket (193) and the fourth center bar bracket (194). The first guide structure (177) may include a first slot (175a) that penetrates in the x-axis direction and a second slot (175b) that penetrates in the -x-axis direction. At least one of the plurality of first protrusion areas (195) of the first center bar bracket (191) may be inserted into the first slot (175a). [0112] The first center bar (171) may be fastened to the first hinge structure (200a). In each of the open, closed, and intermediate states of the electronic device, the position of the first center bar (171) may remain fixed and the same in all positions except for the z-axis and -z-axis positions without change. In each of the open, closed, and intermediate states of the electronic device, the center bar (171) may be the center of the electronic device.
[0113] FIG. 7 is a drawing showing an unfolded state and a folded state of a hinge structure (200) included in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In FIG. 7, drawing 701 shows an example of a cross-section cut along a position where female members (410, 420) are arranged in the unfolded state of the hinge structure (200), and drawing 702 shows an example of a cross-section cut along a position where female members (410, 420) are arranged in the folded state of the hinge structure (200).
[0114] Referring to FIG. 7, in drawing 701, the electronic device (100) may be placed in an open state. When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, one side of the first housing (110) (e.g., the side on which the first area (161) of the display (160) is mounted) and one side of the second housing (120) (e.g., the side on which the second area (162) of the display (160) is mounted) may be placed to face the same z-axis. When the electronic device (100) is in an open state, the third area (163) placed between the first area (161) and the second area (162) of the display (160) may be maintained flat.
[0115] In the drawing 702, the electronic device (100) can be arranged in a folded state (closed). When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), one side of the first housing (110) (e.g., the side on which the first area (161) of the display (160) is mounted) and one side of the second housing (120) (e.g., the side on which the second area (162) of the display (160) is mounted) can be arranged to face each other. A convex portion of the third area (163) (or folding area) arranged between the first area (161) and the second area (162) of the display (160) can be arranged to face the -z-axis direction.
[0116] When the electronic device (100) is in a folded state (closed), the first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132) portions disposed on the first arm member (410) and the second arm member (420) can support a portion of the display (160) in response to the rotation of the arm members (410, 420).
[0117] When the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state (closed), the first wing plate (131) and the second wing plate (132) may be arranged adjacent to each other with the display (160) therebetween. When the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state (closed), the wing plates (131, 132) may rotate clockwise or counterclockwise according to the hinge operation of at least one hinge structure (200a, 200b). For example, while the first wing plate (131) rotates counterclockwise, the second wing plate (132) may rotate clockwise, and while the first wing plate (131) rotates clockwise, the second wing plate (132) may rotate counterclockwise.
[0118] FIG. 8 is a drawing showing an example of the formation of an axis of a first hinge structure (200a) in an unfolded state of a first hinge structure (200a) included in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In FIG. 8, drawing 801 is a drawing showing an example of a cross-section of the hinge structure (200a) taken along line AA` in FIG. 4. For example, drawing 801 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where rotating members (210, 220) are arranged in the hinge structure (200a). In FIG. 8, drawing 802 is a drawing showing an example of a cross-section of the hinge structure (200a) taken along line BB` in FIG. 4. For example, drawing 802 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where female members (410, 420) are arranged in the hinge structure (200a).
[0119] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 8, a first rail structure (211) of a first rotation member (210) may be fastened to one side (e.g., a first rail (231)) of a fixed bracket (230). A third rail structure (221) of a second rotation member (220) may be fastened to the other side (e.g., a second rail (232)) of the fixed bracket (230). The first rail (231) and the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230) may be arranged so that at least a portion thereof overlaps with each other when viewed in the y-axis direction from a point on the x-axis. Accordingly, in the AA` cross section, one edge (e.g., an x-axis edge) of the first rail structure (211) and one edge (e.g., a -x-axis edge) of the third rail structure (221) may be arranged so as to partially overlap.
[0120] The first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) can rotate around the first axis (811) (or the first virtual axis) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230). Since the first axis (811) is fixed regardless of a change in the folded or unfolded state (open) of the electronic device (100), it can become the first fixed axis of the fixed bracket (230). The second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) can perform a rotational movement (or sliding movement) around the second axis (812) (or the second virtual axis) within the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320). At this time, the second rail structure (212) and the fourth rail (321) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the first link member (310) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the second axis (812) can become a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the second link member (320).
[0121] Similarly, the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate about the fifth axis (815) (or the fourth virtual axis) while rotating clockwise or counterclockwise within the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230). Since the fifth axis (815) is fixed regardless of the change in the folded or unfolded state (open) of the electronic device (100), it can become the second fixed axis of the fixed bracket (230). The fourth rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) can perform a rotational movement (or sliding movement) about the sixth axis (816) (or the fourth virtual axis) within the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340). At this time, the fourth rail structure (222) and the sixth rail (341) can move clockwise or counterclockwise in response to the rotation of the fourth link member (340) (e.g., rotating clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotating counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the sixth axis (816) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the fourth link member (340).
[0122] A first shaft (241) fixed to one side of a fixed bracket (230) (e.g., an edge of the -x-axis among the side walls in the -y-axis direction) can be connected to a first arm member (410). A portion of the first shaft (241) can be placed in one side of the first arm member (410) (e.g., a through hole of the first shaft holder (412)). The first shaft (241) can serve as a third axis (813) (or first real axis) around which the first arm member (410) rotates. The fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410) can slide about a fourth axis (814) (or third virtual axis) within the fifth rail (331) of the first link member (310). At this time, the fifth rail structure (411) and the third rail (311) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the third link member (330) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the fourth axis (814) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the first link member (310).
[0123] Similarly, a second shaft (242) fixed to the other side of the fixed bracket (230) (e.g., an x-axis edge of a side wall in the -y-axis direction) can be fastened to the second arm member (420). A portion of the second shaft (242) can be placed in the other side of the second arm member (420) (e.g., a through hole of the second shaft holder (422)). The second shaft (242) can serve as a seventh axis (817) (or second real axis) around which the second arm member (420) rotates. The sixth rail structure (421) of the second arm member (420) can slide about an eighth axis (818) (or sixth virtual axis) within the fifth rail (331) of the third link member (330). At this time, the sixth rail structure (421) and the fifth rail (331) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the third link member (330) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an unfolded state (open). Accordingly, the eighth axis (818) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the third link member (330).
[0124] According to one embodiment, the first axis (811) and the fifth axis (815) may be positioned together on a first xy plane that is parallel to the display (160), and the second axis (812) and the sixth axis (816) may be positioned together on a second xy plane that is parallel to the display (160) and different from the first xy plane. Accordingly, when viewed with respect to the z-axis, the first axis (811) and the fifth axis (815) may be formed at different positions from the second axis (812) and the sixth axis (816), and the third axis (813) and the seventh axis (817) may be formed at different positions from the first axis (811) and the fifth axis (815), and the second axis (812) and the sixth axis (816).
[0125] FIG. 9 is a drawing showing an example of a first hinge structure (200a) included in an electronic device according to one embodiment. FIG. 10 is a drawing showing an example of an axis formation of the first hinge structure (200a) included in an electronic device according to one embodiment in an unfolded state of the first hinge structure (200a). In FIG. 10, drawing 1001 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where rotating members (210, 220) are arranged in the hinge structure (200a). Drawing 1002 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a position where arm members (410, 420) are arranged in the hinge structure (200a).
[0126] Each component of the hinge structure illustrated in FIGS. 9 and 10 may correspond to each component of the hinge structure described above in FIGS. 1 to 8, except for the structure related to the female members (410, 420) and the link members (310, 330). Accordingly, the specific description of the remaining components except for the female members (410, 420) and the first link member (310) and the third link member (330) will be replaced with the contents described above in FIGS. 1 to 8. For example, the structure and configuration of the rotating members (210, 220), the fixed bracket (230), the second link member (320), and the fourth link member (340) will be replaced with the contents described above in FIGS. 1 to 8.
[0127] The first arm member (410) and the second arm member (420) of the hinge structure illustrated in FIGS. 9 and 10 can perform rotational movement based on the fourth axis (1014) or the eighth axis (1018). The first link member (310) can be formed to wrap the first arm member (410) in a C-shape, and the third link member (330) can be formed to wrap the second arm member (420) in a C-shape.
[0128] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 10, the first rail structure (211) of the first rotation member (210) can rotate about a first axis (1011) (or a first virtual axis) (e.g., the first axis (811) of FIG. 8) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the first rail (231) of the fixed bracket (230). The second rail structure (212) of the first rotation member (210) can perform a rotational movement (or a sliding movement) about a second axis (1012) (or a second virtual axis) (e.g., the second axis (812) of FIG. 8) within the fourth rail (321) of the second link member (320).
[0129] Similarly, the third rail structure (221) of the second rotation member (220) can rotate about the fifth axis (1015) (or the fourth virtual axis) (e.g., the fifth axis (815) of FIG. 8) while rotating clockwise or counterclockwise within the second rail (232) of the fixed bracket (230). The fourth rail structure (222) of the second rotation member (220) can perform a rotational movement (or a sliding movement) about the sixth axis (1016) (or the fourth virtual axis) (e.g., the sixth axis (816) of FIG. 8) within the sixth rail (341) of the fourth link member (340).
[0130] The first shaft (241) can serve as a third axis (1013) (or first real axis) (e.g., the third axis (813) of FIG. 8) around which the first arm member (410) rotates. The fifth rail structure (411) of the first arm member (410) can rotate about the fourth axis (1014) (or third virtual axis) within the fifth rail (331) of the first link member (310). At this time, the fifth rail structure (411) and the third rail (311) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the third link member (330) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an unfolded state (open). Accordingly, the fourth axis (1014) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise according to the movement of the first link member (310).
[0131] Similarly, the second shaft (242) can serve as a seventh axis (1017) (or second real axis) (e.g., the seventh axis (817) of FIG. 8) around which the second arm member (420) rotates. The sixth rail structure (421) of the second arm member (420) can rotate about the eighth axis (1018) (or sixth virtual axis) within the fifth rail (331) of the third link member (330). Accordingly, the eighth axis (1018) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise according to the movement of the third link member (330).
[0132] FIG. 11 is a drawing showing an unfolded state and a folded state of a hinge structure (200) included in an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 11, drawing 1101 shows an example of a cross-section of the hinge structure (200a) in an unfolded state taken along line E-E' in FIG. 4. In FIG. 11, drawing 1102 shows an example of a cross-section of the hinge structure (200a) in a folded state taken along line E-E' in FIG. 4. For example, drawings 1101 and 1102 show examples of cross-sections cut at positions where slots (175a, 176a) of the first center bar (171) and protrusion regions (195, 196) of the center bar brackets (191, 192) are arranged in the hinge structure (200a).
[0133] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 11, a hinge structure (200a) of an electronic device (100) may include a plurality of shafts (241, 242), a first center bar (171), a first center bar bracket (191), and a second center bar bracket (192). The first center bar bracket (191) may include a plurality of first protrusion regions (195a, 195b, 195c, 195d) arranged around the first shaft (241). The second center bar bracket (192) may include a plurality of second protrusion regions (196a, 196b, 196c, 196d) arranged around the second shaft (242).
[0134] In the drawing 1101, the electronic device (100) can be placed in an open state. One (196a) of the plurality of second protrusion areas (196a, 196b, 196c, 196d) of the second center bar bracket (192) can be interlocked with and connected to the second slot (175b). In response to the rotation of the first center bar bracket (191) and the second center bar bracket (192), the first center bar (171) can move linearly in the z-axis or -z-axis direction. Accordingly, the first center bar (171) can be operated (or moved) in a direction toward the display.
[0136] According to one embodiment, when the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state (closed), the first center bar (171) can move linearly in the -z-axis direction in conjunction with the counterclockwise rotation of the first center bar bracket (191) and the clockwise rotation of the third center bar bracket (193). When the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an unfolded state (closed), the first center bar (171) can move linearly in the z-axis direction in conjunction with the clockwise rotation of the first center bar bracket (191) and the counterclockwise rotation of the third center bar bracket (193).

[0185] FIG. 19 is a drawing showing an example of the axis formation of the third hinge structure (200c) in an unfolded state of an electronic device according to one embodiment.
[0186] In FIG. 19, drawing 1901 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a location where the female members (1410, 1420) are arranged in the third hinge structure (200c). Drawing 1902 shows an example of a cross-section cut at a location where the wing plates (131, 132) are arranged on the third hinge structure (200c).
[0187] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 19, a third shaft (1241) arranged in a row with the first shaft (241) can be fastened to a third arm member (1410). A portion of the third shaft (1241) can be arranged on one side of the third arm member (1410) (e.g., a through hole of the third shaft holder (1412)). The third shaft (1241) can serve as a tenth axis (1911) (or third real axis) around which the third arm member (1410) rotates. The seventh rail structure (1411) of the third arm member (1410) can perform a rotational motion (or sliding motion) based on the eleventh axis (1913) (or fourth virtual axis) within the seventh rail (1311) of the fifth link member (1310). At this time, the seventh rail structure (1411) and the seventh rail (1311) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the fifth link member (1310) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the eleventh axis (1913) can become a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the fifth link member (1310).
[0188] Similarly, a fourth shaft (1242) arranged in a row with the second shaft (242) may be fastened to a fourth arm member (1420). A portion of the fourth shaft (1242) may be arranged on the other side of the fourth arm member (1420) (e.g., a through hole of the fourth shaft holder (1422)). The fourth shaft (1242) may serve as a 13th axis (1915) (or a fourth real axis) around which the fourth arm member (1420) rotates. The eighth rail structure (1421) of the fourth arm member (1420) may perform a rotational motion (or a sliding motion) based on the 14th axis (1917) (or a fifth virtual axis) within the eighth rail (1321) of the sixth link member (1320). At this time, the eighth rail structure (1421) and the eighth rail (1321) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the sixth link member (1320) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an open state to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an open state). Accordingly, the fourteenth axis (1917) can be a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the sixth link member (1320).
[0189] The ninth rail structure (1610) of the first wing plate (131) may be fastened to the ninth rail (1335) of the fifth link member (1310). The tenth rail structure (1620) of the second wing plate (132) may be fastened to the tenth rail (1345) of the sixth link member (1320).
[0190] The ninth rail structure (1610) of the first wing plate (131) can rotate about the ninth axis (1912) (or the third virtual axis) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the ninth rail (1335) of the fifth link member (1310). The tenth rail structure (1620) of the second wing plate (132) can rotate about the twelfth axis (1916) (or the fourth virtual axis) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the tenth rail (1345) of the sixth link member (1320).
[0191] Fig. 20 is a plan view showing an example of a third hinge structure according to an embodiment. A portion of the third shaft (1241) can be arranged on one side of the third arm member (1410) (e.g., a through hole of the third shaft holder (1412)). The third shaft (1241) can serve as a tenth axis (2111) (e.g., the tenth axis (1911) of FIG. 19) (or a third real axis) around which the third arm member (1410) rotates. The seventh rail structure (1411) of the third arm member (1410) can perform a rotational motion (or a sliding motion) based on an eleventh axis (2113) (or a fourth virtual axis) within the seventh rail (1311) of the fifth link member (1310). At this time, the seventh rail structure (1411) and the seventh rail (1311) can move counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the rotation of the fifth link member (1310) (e.g., rotate counterclockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from an unfolded state (open) to a folded state, and rotate clockwise while the electronic device (100) changes from a folded state to an unfolded state (open). Accordingly, the eleventh axis (2113) can become a movement axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the fifth link member (1310).
[0193] Similarly, a fourth shaft (1242) arranged in a row with the second shaft (242) may be fastened to a fourth arm member (1420). A portion of the fourth shaft (1242) may be arranged on the other side of the fourth arm member (1420) (e.g., a through hole of the fourth shaft holder (1422)). The fourth shaft (1242) may serve as a 13th axis (2115) (e.g., the 13th axis (1915) of FIG. 19) (or a fourth real axis) around which the fourth arm member (1420) rotates. The eighth rail structure (1421) of the fourth arm member (1420) may perform a rotational motion (or a sliding motion) based on the 14th axis (2117) (or a fifth virtual axis) within the eighth rail (1321) of the sixth link member (1320). Accordingly, the fourteenth axis (2117) can become a moving axis that moves counterclockwise or clockwise in response to the movement of the sixth link member (1320).
[0194] The ninth rail structure (1610) of the first wing plate (131) may be fastened to the ninth rail (1335) of the fifth link member (1310). The tenth rail structure (1620) of the second wing plate (132) may be fastened to the tenth rail (1345) of the sixth link member (1320).
[0195] The ninth rail structure (1610) of the first wing plate (131) can rotate about the ninth axis (1912) (or the third virtual axis) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the ninth rail (1335) of the fifth link member (1310). The tenth rail structure (1620) of the second wing plate (132) can rotate about the twelfth axis (2116) (e.g., the twelfth axis (1916) of FIG. 19) (or the fourth virtual axis) while rotating counterclockwise or clockwise within the tenth rail (1345) of the sixth link member (1320).
[0196] FIG. 22 is a drawing showing an example of a third hinge structure according to one embodiment, and FIG. 23 is a drawing showing an example of a wing plate coupled to the third hinge structure according to one embodiment.
[0197] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 23, each configuration of the third hinge structure illustrated in FIGS. 22 and 23 may correspond to each configuration of the hinge structure described above in FIGS. 1 to 21, except for the structures related to the seventh link member (2210) and the eighth link member (2220). Accordingly, specific descriptions of the remaining configurations, except for the seventh link member (2210) and the eighth link member (2220), will be replaced with the contents described above in FIGS. 1 to 21. The first wing plate (131) may include a first spacer region (2320) protruding from the first wing plate (131). A first sub-rail structure may be formed on both sides of the first spacer (2310) (e.g., a side facing the y-axis or / and the -y-axis) to be fastened to the first sub-rail (2211). The ninth rail structure of the first wing plate (131) is secured to the first opening region (2212) of the seventh link member (2210), so that the first sub-rail (2211) can guide a rotational or sliding motion of the first sub-rail structure.
[0199] According to one embodiment, the eighth link member (2220) can extend from the sixth link member (1320) in the y-axis and / or -y-axis direction. For example, the eighth link member (2220) can extend from the sixth link member (1320) in the -y-axis direction. The eighth link member (2220) can extend integrally with the sixth link member (1320). The eighth link member (2220) can include a second opening area (2222) that is partially open toward the x-axis. Inner walls of the eighth link member (2220) that face each other with the second opening area (2222) interposed therebetween can be formed, and a second sub-rail (2221) that protrudes into the second opening area (2222) can be formed on each of the inner walls that face the y-axis and / or -y-axis. The second wing plate (132) may include a second spacer region (2320) protruding from the second wing plate (132). A second sub-rail structure may be formed on both sides of the second spacer (2320) (e.g., a side facing the y-axis or / and the -y-axis) to be fastened to the second sub-rail (2221). The tenth rail structure of the second wing plate (132) is secured to the second opening region (2222) of the eighth link member (2220), so that the second sub-rail (2221) can guide a rotational or sliding motion of the second sub-rail structure.

[0209] FIG. 25 is a diagram illustrating examples of a plurality of hinge structures connected via center bar bridges according to one embodiment. In FIG. 25, drawing 2501 illustrates an example of center bar bridges and center bars arranged continuously from one side of a first hinge structure to the other side of a second hinge structure, and drawing 2502 illustrates an example of center bar bridges and center bars arranged continuously from a portion of the first hinge structure to a portion of the second hinge structure.
[0210] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 25, the plurality of hinge structures may include a first hinge structure (200a), a second hinge structure (200b), and a third hinge structure (200c). The third hinge structure (200c) may be positioned between the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b). The first center bar (171) of the first hinge structure (200a) may be connected to the third center bar (173) of the third hinge structure (200c) via the first center bar bridge (181). The second center bar (172) of the second hinge structure (200b) may be connected to the third center bar (173) of the third hinge structure (200c) via the second center bar bridge (182).
[0211] The third hinge structure (200c) may not include a rotation member as described above in FIGS. 1 to 24b, or may include a third rotation member (2510) and a fourth rotation member (2520) as illustrated in FIG. 25.
[0212] According to one embodiment, a portion of the rotation members (210, 220, 2510, 2520) of at least one of the first hinge structure (200a), the second hinge structure (200b), and the third hinge structure (200c) can be removed. This can prevent the overall weight of the electronic device from increasing due to the third rotation member (2510) and the fourth rotation member (2520).
[0213] In drawing 2501, the rotation members (210, 220, 2510, 2520) of each of the first hinge structure (200a), the second hinge structure (200b), and the third hinge structure (200c) may overlap with a portion of the center bar (171, 172, 173). A portion of the rotation members (210, 220, 2510, 2520) of each of the first hinge structure (200a), the second hinge structure (200b), and the third hinge structure (200c) may be removed. A portion of the first rotation member (210) and a portion of the second rotation member (220) of each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) may be removed. The first rotation member (210) may have an area adjacent to the second rotation member (220) removed, and the second rotation member (220) may have an area adjacent to the first rotation member (210) removed. At least one of the first center bar (171) and the second center bar (172) may have an area between the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) formed to have a narrower width than the remaining area. The first center bar (171) (or / and, the second center bar (172)) may be positioned between the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220). Accordingly, the first center bar (171) may be arranged continuously with the first center bar bridge (181) without a discontinuous section, and the second center bar (172) may be arranged continuously with the second center bar bridge (182) without a discontinuous section. A portion of the third rotation member (2510) and a portion of the fourth rotation member (2520) of the third hinge structure (200c) can be removed. The third rotation member (2510) can have an area adjacent to the fourth rotation member (2520) removed, and the fourth rotation member (2520) can have an area adjacent to the third rotation member (2510) removed. The third center bar (173) can be formed so that the area between the third rotation member (2510) and the fourth rotation member (2520) is narrower than the remaining area.A third center bar (173) may be positioned between the third rotation member (2510) and the fourth rotation member (2520). The third center bar (173) may be positioned continuously between the first center bar bridge (181) and the second center bar bridge (182) without any discontinuous sections. Accordingly, the first center bar (171), the first center bar bridge (181), the third center bar (173), the second center bar bridge (182), and the second center bar (172) may be positioned continuously without any discontinuous sections.
[0214] In drawing 2502, the rotation members (2510, 2520) of the hinge structure (200c) disposed in the center among the first hinge structure (200a), the second hinge structure (200b), and the third hinge structure (200c) may overlap a portion of the center bar (173), and the rotation members (210, 220) of the hinge structures (200a, 200b) disposed on the outside may not overlap the center bar (171, 172). The first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) of each of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) may be formed so as not to overlap the center bar (171, 172). Each of the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) may have a portion that is not removed. Accordingly, each of the first rotation member (210) and the second rotation member (220) of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) can secure rigidity that affects rotational performance.
[0215] Part of the rotation members (2510, 2520) of the third hinge structure (200c) disposed between the first center bar bridge (181) and the second center bar bridge (182) may be removed. The third rotation member (2510) may have an area adjacent to the fourth rotation member (2520) removed, and the fourth rotation member (2520) may have an area adjacent to the third rotation member (2510) removed. The third center bar (173) may be formed so that the area between the third rotation member (2510) and the fourth rotation member (2520) is narrower than the remaining area. The third center bar (173) may be positioned between the third rotation member (2510) and the fourth rotation member (2520). The third center bar (173) can be arranged continuously without a discontinuous section between the first center bar bridge (181) and the second center bar bridge (182). Accordingly, the first center bar (171), the first center bar bridge (181), the third center bar (173), the second center bar bridge (182), and the second center bar (172) can be arranged continuously without a discontinuous section.
[0216] FIG. 26 is a drawing showing an example of a third hinge structure according to one embodiment. In FIG. 26, drawing 2601 shows an example of a cross-section of the third hinge structure (200c) in a folded state, taken along the line F-F' in FIG. 25. In FIG. 26, drawing 2602 shows an example of a cross-section of the third hinge structure (200c) in an unfolded state, taken along the line F-F' in FIG. 25. For example, drawings 2601 and 2602 show examples of cross-sections cut at positions where the second fixed bracket (1230) and the rotation members (2510, 2520) are arranged in the third hinge structure (200c).
[0217] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 26, the second fixed bracket (1230) may include a structure to which a portion of the third rotation member (2510) and a portion of the fourth rotation member (2520) may be rotatably fastened. The second fixed bracket (1230) may include an 11th rail structure (1231) and a 12th rail structure (1232) to which an 11th rail (2511) of the third rotation member (2510) and a 12th rail (2521) of the fourth rotation member (2520) may be rotatably fastened. Each of the 11th rail (2511) of the third rotation member (2510) and the 12th rail (2521) of the fourth rotation member (2520) may be partially removed to prevent an increase in the weight of the third hinge structure (200c).
[0218] In drawing 2601, when the electronic device is in a folded state, each of the 11th rail (2511) of the third rotation member (2510) and the 12th rail (2521) of the fourth rotation member (2520) can be fastened to each of the 11th rail structure (1231) and the 12th rail structure (1232) of the second fixed bracket (1230) by a specified width (d). When the electronic device is in a folded state, each of the 11th rail (2511) of the third rotation member (2510) and the 12th rail (2521) of the fourth rotation member (2520) can be fastened to the second fixed bracket (1230) without insufficient catch amount. Accordingly, even if a part of each of the 11th rail (2511) of the 3rd rotation member (2510) and the 12th rail (2521) of the 4th rotation member (2520) is removed, when the electronic device is dropped, the 11th rail (2511) and the 12th rail (2521) can be prevented or minimized from being detached (or falling off) from the fixed bracket (1230), the 11th rail (2511) and the 12th rail (2521) from being bent, the folding quality deteriorated, and / or the rotation members (2510, 2520) from being damaged.
[0219] In drawing 2602, when the electronic device is in an unfolded state, a part of the 11th rail (2511) of the 3rd rotation member (2510) and a part of the 12th rail (2521) of the 4th rotation member (2520) are removed, so that the 3rd center bar (173) can be placed in the area where the 11th rail (2511) and the 12th rail (2521) are removed. The 3rd center bar (173) may not protrude further than the fixed bracket (1230) and may be flush with the fixed bracket (1230). Accordingly, it is possible to prevent or minimize deterioration of the screen quality of a display placed on the 3rd center bar (173).
[0220] According to one embodiment, the shape of the third rotation member (2510), the fourth rotation member (2520) and the third center bar (173) of the third hinge structure (200c) described in FIG. 26 can be applied to the shape of the rotation member (210, 220) and the center bar (171, 172) of at least one of the first hinge structure (200a) and the second hinge structure (200b) described in FIGS. 1 to 25.
